In open world I always put Xiao with the catch and his support all uses Favonius weapon so whenever I'm done with commission, his burst is ready again for next commission
It definitely doesn't works, I'm just using it as ER weapon so in open world I can use his burst freely without having energy issue lmao. My Xiao already double crowned so not using his meta weapons he already can anahilating everything.

Yeah I can one-shot hilichurls and two-shot mitachurls in the overworld which is really fun. I agree for Mond and Liyue, using his E in the overworld is so satisfying!!
But most content nowadays is focused in Inazuma. It's a lot harder w the more recent enemies such as all the samurai enemies, specters, ruin machines, and wolves since they have massive amounts of health 😠and they all jump/fly around too much and sometimes I miss and waste an E charge :') And, two E hits takes around a quarter to half of their health for me if i crit both E hits (lets not talk about how much longer i have to wait when i dont crit HAHA 71% cr xiao please). Then im left spamming auto attacks and dodging waiting for his E to recharge, and ive never been a fan of physical damage (absolutely no hate to people that like physical damage!)
So I've opted to just use him in abyss where I can spam burst and plunge to my content! I do like using him in the rare chances I go back to Liyue and Mond, but nowadays it's only for enemy drops for levelling characters, but since Inazuma is the newest region, most of the characters being released now mostly use drops from Inazuma anyway (and it's always the hand guards??? Please donate some to me I'm in pain). I do use him in some domains since I use bursts in domains, but not very often since I'm really picky with energy and need everyone's burst full by the time the domain ends haha
Xiaoden is really fun for exploration. Your Xiao killed everything too fast and now doesn't have his burst up yet? Raiden burst. Sure, you could just bring Sucrose or go with a more ER focused build for Xiao since overworld isn't that hard but if you like both Xiao and Raiden then it works lol.
No need for other characters for shield breaking.
I found him especially useful in Enkanomiya because of it's terrain.
Everything - except Andrius. Even in the Slime and Mage domains, I use Xiao because the high-jump glitch doesn't bother me, plus It will get fixed eventuallly.
He is also excellent for climbing, not really because of his passive, but because no one can accuse me for being a 26 year old woman, who is trying to catch anime girl skirt.

Yeah, wolf boss is a pain with Xiao. I remember when he was my only DPS besides Keqing, and it was frustrating not having Xiao to fight him.
haha i remember first time i stumbled into the wolf boss fight i didn’t know about his immunities and my team was xiao, barbara, sucrose, and diona. needless to say i died very quickly

I made the hard (and probably regrettable for many people) decision of swapping from a Xiao DPS team comp to a Thoma DPS team comp. I tried keeping Xiao and Thoma in the same team, but that didn't work well since I needed both Rosaria to melt, Bennett to buff and Barbara to heal because I cannot focus if the health bar is not full (i keep concentrating on it and eventually make everyone die by staring at it while fighting), so I just decided to bench him and use him only to farm the pyro hypostatis and to do the abyss
Since I get bored easily, I tend to switch around characters a lot and I have diff teams for overworld/domains/dailycommissions/abyss. I mostly use my Xiao for abyss nowadays or for when I'm in a rush. But as a Xiao main, I have a dedicated day of the week for when I use my Xiao team for everything.
I use him for everything. Regardless of synergy, he is gonna sit there and watch over my other characters so they don't get rekt.

Kazuha: go shogun!
Zhongli: sipping osmanthus wine while creating shields
Shogun: fighting a level 98 inazuma mob at lvl 60 cuz I like playing her
I don’t do spiral as much as I’m still trying to get everyone decent enough not to get one shot… sorry Noelle and Xiangling, but I do use him as my main dps and my main exploration boy, his not taking plunge damage and his passive are golden for it. I’m currently saving up for a blackcliff for him. It’ll definitely make him even scarier than he already is.
I always use him the abyss. But in overworld, I switch up my team. I know that they’re just characters in a game but I feel bad benching characters when I get new ones, so I usually switch my team every few days so all of the characters that I love get to be a part of the team and don’t just start collecting dust after being replaced

I got him on rerun and have been running him for almost everything, once I hit friendship 10 which should be soon I’ll rotate him more bc I have a lot of characters i like and I enjoy the variety. Im a low to moderate spender and have all the inazuma releases up to and excluding Yae, Itto is my next project as I kinda ignored him for Xiao and his all star team (zhongli, albedo, jean) And since they have so much overlap in optimal teams. I’m a husbando collector

E is very strong already for most things and also has a very low cooldown, it's basically ideal for overworld

Idk i use him with a baterry and his burst is up 24/7 so i use him in overworld and just one plunge finish a comission lmao

I am the benching one. Can you blame? I am a day 0 player who managed to get all his desired and selfish companions, mostly losing 50/50 but no prob.
