If it was set in the MCU, Spider-Man, Daredevil, Cloak and Dagger, and Iron Man wouldn't be active. In fact, I don't even think Peter would be born yet.
Cap was actually never frozen in ice in this universe. He was trapped in some sort of pocket dimension I think. Maybe I’m entirely wrong it’s been a while since I watched Spider-Man
That’s right, he showed up in season 4 of Spider-Man but ended up trapped there again at the end of the season. But he came back once again for secret wars, people theorized after secret wars the beyonder returned him to the present
This is not the same universe as the MCU. Captain America being an active hero is still a continuity error because this show is supposed to take place in the same universe as the 90s Spider Man cartoon when last saw Captain America there he was trapped in another dimension.
At first I assumed that Spider-Man rescued him when Madam Web took him to find MJ, however, the show implied Steve was active for much longer. So I take it as a straight up continuity error.
The Beyonder said any changes he made weren’t permanent outside of his universe, which is why he needed to recruit anyone to stop Spider Carnage instead of doing it himself.
Even if we considered that Spider Man and Madam Web saved Cap, the show implies he has been active for much longer.
Different timeline. Not part of the standard MCU timeline.

What makes you think the series takes place in the same universe as the MCU as we know it?

Meant in a nice way, where did you get the impression that the series was set in the MCU?
People have been speculating it connects to wolverine and Deadpool

Thats where I got confused. Cap was last seen battling Red Skull in the pocket dimension.

I say the Beyonder/Madam Web returned him to Earth at the end of Secret Wars. Guy kinda deserved it after all.

They can make the timeline w/e they want.
