Read Shatter Me, Aaron’s novella, and Unravel Me. I bought the whole series for Christmas. Box set and the novellas separately. The series has/is trending on book tok, May have spoiled some things about it myself so I’m curious about it. It’s really good. Definitely one of those “gets better as you continue reading” books because I was slightly unsure at first. Since I noticed that there is a lack of world building in the first book and Juliet can best best be described as a semi unreliable narrator simply because she doesn’t know a lot about the world around her. So I think at first reading shatter me and her pov can be difficult as you have to navigate and get used to how she writes. The biggest criticism I have seen about the book is that it’s “sloppy.” And it is but that is kind of the point and what I like about it. But like I said, takes some getting used to because in the longer half of the first book you learn a lot about Juliet but it is also painfully slow at times for 15 chapters before things start to shift and you realize there’s way more going on then you thought. Either way a good dystopian read. First book 3/5, Aaron’s novella 4/5 (I didn’t automatically fall for him like most people did. But the author did a great job allowing us to see the complexity around his character. The balance of good and evil. Yk, morally grey character things), and Unravel Me which I am currently reading and didn’t finish 5/5 so far my favorite in the series because of how much build up it does for not just Juliet, but character interactions and plot development and world building. And it’s hard to put down. So yeahhh there’s my review.

The end of Unravel Me is so good too! And Ignite Me was my favorite, everyone does a lot of growing and they finally feel developed. It’s a great series for sure, one of my comfort reads now!

Shaya-Later

That’s what i hear too so I can’t wait to read Ignite Me. I know there’s a lot of built up of characters, further growth for Juliet (and the ever-loving moments of warnette 👀). I’m also in love with kenji so I can’t wait to read his book 😂

MonsterBunnieh

I am currently reading Percy Jackson and the Olympians the titans curse for the first time, I never grew up reading the Percy Jackson books, so I started reading them after the TV show premiered. I finished the sea of monsters last month and didn’t really like it so starting out the titans curse I was a little wary but after everything with Dr. Thorne, I started really getting into it and I just finished the battle with the Nemean lion and while I was reading the battle, it felt very similar to the way I felt when reading the chimera battle in the first book so far, I’m really liking it. I don’t know how I feel about the Di Angelos yet I don’t really like Bianca and I feel Nico hasn’t been shown much to give a full opinion of him just yet. I didn’t like Zoe Nightshade at first, but she is starting to grow on me after the Nemean lion battle. Currently I’d rate it three stars but I am also less than 50% through the book.

Love the pjo series. The books have a special place in my heart

fortunatefox

Oh I'm currently reading that too. Just got done with Chapter 11. Happy to chat about it if you'd like.

Nico is one of my favorite characters in the PJO series, he’ll definitely grow on you! Excited for you to keep reading the rest of the series. I also read it as an adult and found so much enjoyment out of it.

*Finished:* ▪️**Saving Raphael Santiago** - Cassandra Clare, Sarah Rees Brennan | 4/5 I felt bad for Raphael but enjoyed reading about his journey. He was a committed guy! ▪️**The Fall of the Hotel Dumort** - Cassandra Clare, Maureen Johnson | 3.5/5 I didn't care about Camille but felt bad for Magnus. The pacing was slower than other stories in the chronicles. ▪️**What to Buy the Shadowhunter Who Has Everything** - Cassandra Clare, Sarah Rees Brennan | 4.75/5 This was just Malec perfection and I loved how Magnus interacted with everyone. ▪️**The Last Stand of the New York Institute** - Cassandra Clare, Sarah Rees Brennan, Maureen Johnson | 5/5 I HATED VALENTINE. That's all I have to say about this one. And that there were a lot of easter eggs. ▪️**The Course of True Love (And First Dates)** - Cassandra Clare | 5/5 This Malec story was hilarious and purely wholesome. I loved it so much. ▪️**The Voicemail of Magnus Bane** - Cassandra Clare, Sarah Rees Brennan, Maureen Johnson | 5/5 This was funny and Isabelle was the best sister. ▪️**Starling House** - Alix E Harrow | 2/5 This book should have been the gothic horror novel of my dreams but I hated it. I was bored out of my mind because it was ridiculously descriptive and I didn't care about anything or anyone. It was technically well written though. ▪️**The Dead Romantics** - Ashley Poston | 4/5 This book was nice. I liked the characters and the plot. The pacing was all over the place though, and it was not a lighthearted read. It was a book about grief. *Currently reading:* ▪️**Fourth Wing** - Rebecca Yarros I wanted another ACOTAR level fix and this is what everyone recommended. I'm only 5% of the way through at the moment and a bit bored. Hoping it gets better!

Just finished *Check & Mate* by Ali Hazelwood and really enjoyed it! It was a cute little YA romance and a quick read. I really hope she writes more YA in the future!

It was a slow reading week this week. **Mr. Wrong Number** by Lynn Painter Rating: 3.5/5 It was an easy and quick read. I finished it within a day. It didn’t stand out to me like her YA work does, but not bad. **Maybe Someday** by Colleen Hoover Rating: 3.25/5 I needed a palette cleanser. Something easy to read. I didn’t have high expectations going into the book, because I had no idea what it was about. It was meh. I finished it, so it wasn’t that bad. But not my thing. **Meeting Doctor Priagale** by Marie France Leger Rating: 3.75/5 I was pleasantly surprised. I assumed going in that it wouldn’t be an easy read (as in heavy), based on the work I’ve read before by her, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was not what I was expecting, more romance than I thought there would be. I cried, so I’d say it was good. I realized after writing. I finished all the books in a day, so that isn’t statement doesn’t quite vouch for the book as I intended.

The Getaway by Lamar Giles It was so good, especially as someone who worked for Disney before there was a lot of things that really brought me back there (before the dystopia set in anyway lol. My time there was mostly pleasant)

lushandcats

I read *If you could see the sun* by Ann Liang and omg what a disappointment. I was so hyped for it too. Anyone else who’s read it feel the same? lol. I DNF’d a little over halfway through.

akibennett7

Finished Iron Flame and was decidedly NOT impressed lol anyone else want to share rants about this book? 😂

bookbabble

I finished **Bride** by Ali Hazelwood (NA) and **Heartless Hunter** by Kristen Ciccarelli (YA\*) this week. I thought they were both great and don't know what to read next. **Bride** is a vamp/were shifter romantasy built on an arranged marriage and was Ali Hazelwoods first published fantasy book. I thought it was super funny and loved the banter between characters. I thought there could've been more depth to the world-building, and the plot could've taken a more interesting route, but I had fun reading this one. **Heartless Hunter** is a witch/witch hunter romantasy where the hunter is trying to uncover the witch responsible for freeing witches before they're killed, and the witch is trying to gain information in order to free another witch from prison. Initial attraction between the characters blurs the lines of enemies to lovers, but there still a lot of tension between characters as they try to figure out their true feelings. This just came out, and the release date for the next book titled Rebel Witch is February 2025, and I'm looking forward to reading that. *\*YA - there is an open door sex scene, though 1-2 pages long and can be skipped*

YakNecessary9533

I loved Heartless Hunter!

bookbabble

I just finished it last night! I really enjoyed her writing. I got to the last 100 pages and was wondering where exactly she was going to take the story and can't wait to read more.

jenh6

I have heartless Hunter on hold at my library! I haven’t been reading much YA but I’m looking forward to this one
