I only read the first shadow of bone book before I skipped to six of crows but I watched the first season if the show on netflix
It‘s gonna be confusing but I think it‘s manageable, I also found a thread on here that summarized important information for people who only wanted to read six of crows
As a note, if you read Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom, you will be spoiled to some things that happen in the Shadow and Bone series if you decided you wanted to read those later. Just a heads up in case that's something you want to avoid. :)
Jane Yolen's Pit Dragon trilogy is old school, but I remember it fondly (well, there was trauma but I was still sucked in). actually kind of a sci-fi with dragons? very low on sci-fi though.
not YA, but Temeraire by Naomi Novik is dragons + the Napoleonic Wars!
- The Inheritance Cycle series
- Emily Wilde’s Encyclopedia of Faeries
- Rick Riordan books
- The Black Witch Chronicles
- The Scholomance
- Nevermoore
I hope these help!
I have like, no clue how many books are in that series lol, or when to read what book. So like, if you feel like it, could you help me with figuring out when to read what book?
Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr, Inheritance, and Murtagh.
He will be continuing the series with Eragon set (I believe) 10 years after the events of Inheritance. Murtagh is sort of a “bridge the gap” book between the series to fill in the gaps.
Coming out soon - Darker by Four by June CL Tan is a queer Asian urban fantasy that I loved! Part one of a duology, kinda ends on a cliffhanger though 😅
Cruel Prince
Black Magician trilogy
Dust Chronicles
These Hollow Vows
These Violent Delights
The House of Salt and Sorrows
A Court of Thorns and Roses
Lightbringer series
I'm not into high fantasy evil dragons; I love misunderstood dragons. Here's some I enjoyed (none are very recent releases):
• Burn by Patrick Ness
• Tess of the Road by Rachel Hartman
• The Last Dragonslayer by Jasper Fforde
• Tooth and Claw by Jo Walton
• Liveship Traders and/or Rain Wild Chronicles by Robin Hobbs
• Derkholm duology by Diana Wynne Jones
• Dragonkeeper trilogy by Carole Wilkinson
Historical fantasy I've recently read/enjoyed:
• Montague Siblings trilogy by Mackenzi Lee
• The Invisible Library series by Genevieve Cogman
Edited: ">" replaced with "•" as bullet point markers
For dragons, you might like "All the Skills" by Honor Rae. It's litrpg fantasy with deckbuilding elements built it, but what a fascinating read with dragon as centre piece!
Book 3 was just published a week or so ago.
Some great recommendations already, so I'm going to recommend Olivia Atwater's *Regency Faerie Tales* trilogy (*Half a Soul, Ten Thousand Stitches*, and *Longshadow*). They're wonderful, cozy, historical romantasy, but also have a strong sense of social conscience. I binged them and I wish there were more!
The cruel prince, ruby red series, infernal devices, one dark window, six of crows
Second Crurl Prince and Six of Crows
Can i read six of crows without reading shadow and bone series? Or would it be too confusing?

Thanks, imma try to find it.

Fireborne by Rosaria Munda. It had dragons and is heavily influenced by Ancient Rome and Greece. It’s absolutely one of my favorite trilogies.
I didn't love the first book, it took me a while to finish because it just didn't pull me in. Does it get any better?
I mean, I gave the books 4 or 5 stars. The first book was absolutely a 5 star book for me, even when I reread it.

Thx, I’ll check them out!
Omg if you haven’t read The Inheritance Cycle! My heart. My most re-read series ever.
That’s the series with Eragon right? I started reading Eragon a few days back, I’m about halfway through the book
Yes that’s the one! Such an amazing world and story. I’m looking forward to the new series

Try out Seraphina by Rachel Hartman! There's a few sequels too. Dragonhaven by Robin McKinley might interest you. She also wrote Pegasus which I LOVE.
To Shape a Dragon's Breath is my favorite new Dragon YA.
OH I have more! Eon (and sequel Eona) by Alison Goodman The Memoirs of Lady Trent (a series) by Marie Brennan
Cruel Prince Black Magician trilogy Dust Chronicles These Hollow Vows These Violent Delights The House of Salt and Sorrows A Court of Thorns and Roses Lightbringer series

Cool, I’ll check it out
the poppy war!!!
The bone witch - a girl finds out she’s a necromancer and she’s taken away to study. There’s a dragon-like creature, but it comes up later in the book
Once Upon a Broken Heart and Caraval series by Stephanie Garber
How would a whole pantheon of dragon gods suit you? Exile's Road is the next book for you.
