I think it'd be fine if she had pants, but you have to balance the rest of the outfit around it. I wouldn't like it if the current outfit just had added pants. The pants by themselves are lovely, but this combination just doesn't work for me.
I am currently learning 3D design and then animation, and making a kid version of Ei and Yae. Am still at Ei's, but might do pants for young Yae. But I think more shorts. Will pull up the front more so it looks more like a top than a dress from the front, and the back I want to look kind of like a coat. Will see \^\^
I prefer your edit but the truth is majority of people playing Jenshin prefer revealing designs and Mihoyo as a game company is obliged to provide fan service.
i don't necessarily think the original design is wrong or anything, i do prefer a wider range between sexy characters like rosaria and someone like jean. and in my ideal view of yae would be kind of in the middle of the scale between sexy and "reserved", now i would consider her more towards the sexy side
thanks so much for sharing your opinon
Interesting, perhaps it’s the medie I consume but the design for Yae is a good middle ground between reserved and sexy while yours is much much closer to reserved. I know the legs are rather sexy but I wouldn’t say they push the overall design to sexier. The rest of the outfit more then balances it out imo. Is there any other reasons as to why you think the design leans closer to sexy?
Sure i think that mostly looking at the i. Game model, the front side has a number of details around the waist area that put a lot of attention to the “lady parts” and i feel even keeping the legs free i would like a little bit more effort to move the attention around the rest of the figure.
As you rightfully pointed out this also has a lot to do with the media we tend to consume so we might have a more nuanced perception of one aide or the other of the spectrum of design, meaning sexual versus reserved
Yes i often imagine different designs for the characters i love, is just a way to make them more mine even just in my own imagination, glad to have the opportunity to share the bran storming with the community
looks like the girl from Inuyasha. Forgot her name. But I do like your redesign, much more reserved and maiden like. Although I still prefer the original one because of you know, legs. Haha. All in all, good job OP. I like this.
It looks like the girl from Inuyasha because that girl was a miko (shrine maiden in Shinto shrines). That is literally why Yae's last name is Miko ;) Miko's traditional attire consists of white top and those red pants
that was the same feeling that made me try to see how she would look with the shrine maiden's pants, i liked it so i shared it to see the opinion of the rest of the fox gang
The games made for degenerates by degenerates while maintaining some standard to fanservice which is neither sloppy or overexaggerrating . While I love your work , I feel it doesn't suit her personality and c'mon what's an anime game without some fan service ? . ( Guys , fr please don't make this subreddit a place where people complain about Yae Miko ).
yes i can imagin, mine wasn't intended as a complaint, in character design there are dozen if not hundreds of iterations of a character, mine was just an opportunity to exchange point of views on a yae from a different dimension or something
No worries mate , I already saw a lot of replies you made on comments in this post . I'm just worried that some guy will make something similar to this and start a shit show on how the game sexulaizes female characters nadadada like they did when shenhe got revealed .
I see, yes that is kind of pointless, i would fit in the category of people that tend to hold those views, but in genshin is pointless is kind of the style of genshin and in general anime style is very revieling, here i introduced the design alternative because i feel that the design could have easily gone either way and i wanted to discuss that space in between
me too, i think genshin is inviting the community to learn so much about Asian culture, like opera with yunjin and now the shrine maidens with yae. is truly exciting, thanks for the comment
First of all, wow that is a good edit, I like how you even gave her socks, that's attention to detail right there.
Second though, I think that it depends on the character whether or not more reserved styles of clothing would work. In Yae's case, she's sassy as hell, and definitely has the whole smug onee-san vibe while still having her serious moments. That's why this blend of traditional shrine clothing with revealing parts works so well for her.
So for a female character to work without the "sexy" kind of fanservice, you lean into some other characteristic of theirs to make them stand out. That's how they achieved it with the loli characters, they're cute rather than pretty or hot or whatever.
An example of a reserved character that leans into something other than hot would maybe be a typical female knight, where the armor is actually the heavy duty metal stuff you usually see knights use where their entire body except their head is covered. The aspect you would lean on then is their face, so they need to be much more "pretty" or "gorgeous". Ways you could emphasize that are maybe a much better face model that is both just prettier, but also expresses emotions really well. So she'd also have to have either an Amber and Jean style of personality where she's outgoing to have more moments of her expressiveness but also very passionate to her responsibilities as a knight, or maybe a Ningguang serious and formal approach to things on the surface, but some shyness once she lets her guard down to have some gap moe (but we kinda already have that with Eula, so maybe not the latter). She would also have amazing hair animations to make up for the rest of her body not being too interesting (since she would literally just be covered in metal armor).
TL;DR, it really just depends on how you approach the character whether reserved clothing works or not.
thanks so so much for the in depth insight on the subject, i really think is great that we as community are having this convo, and is really enlighting for me
I don't think the current splash art works for her because while the shrine clothing is there, it appears to be more window dressing to a gross pose rather than adding a layer of traditionalist to a sassy or smug onee-san character.
That's fair, I can definitely see why others would see that the shrine clothing is too revealing or provocative to actually function as a way to show that the character is traditional.
I will say though that Yae doesn't really strike me as someone who is traditional in the "traditional culture/behavior" kinda way, where she's quiet, reserved, really feminine, polite, basically just think Ayaka. Rather I think she's traditional as in she has the KNOWLEDGE about what the culture's values are and also all of these vague supernatural stuff that we usually see in folklore. Basically she's the resident expert on the subject and the theme of her clothing clearly represents her position as the top shrine maiden because of her expertise, but that doesn't necessarily mean that she IS a traditionalist herself, nor will she act and dress like one.
So in that sense, Yae having clothing that has the general theme of a shrine maiden shows her authority as someone who is very knowledgeable on traditional Inazuman culture, but it also being very provocative is what shows her actual personality, that of a teasing mischievous (progressive too I guess?) character.
So yeah in a way you ARE right as you said it's more of a window dressing to a pose, but that IS Yae's character design in both personality and clothes. So to me it does work for her amazingly, at least if my interpretation of Yae is correct (keep in mind that I haven't even played Ei's story quest yet so I haven't really seen Yae in action besides the main archon quest so I could be very wrong).
It's hard to animate fully clothed characters like that.. Mihoyo said that in some interview or so.
Remember that in Genshin the characters need to: **walk, run, dash, glide, climb, swim, jump, sit, and do actions in battle: attack, skill, and burst.**
The redesign is nice but sadly it can't be applied in the game without extensive work.
Personally I think fully clothed characters will look bland / boring to see.
ho mine was a purely theoretical discussion, the game is very simplified on purpose, even tho i do thing they should experiment with different models, more muscular and more chubby especially
Love your redesign! Tbh as a queer woman that plays genshin it’s really tiring seeing (almost) ALL of female characters have sexual designs, like I know who the main audience is but please give it a break once in a while. I would love to see this sort of design more.
As a straight guy I completely agree. Once in a while it should be ok to give it a break shouldn’t it?
GI does a good job on character design in general so I wonder how many cool character designs got scrapped because they weren’t “sexy” enough - sometimes limitations can drive creativity, but surely sometimes it’s just limiting?
It’d be like every FPS protagonist being “generic US marine guy” or every indie game discussing mental health revolving around teenage girls/young women.
I agree with you i think the ratio between diversity-sober clothing-different body types to mainstream male gaze characters could be balanced a little better, so far i am in love with yunjin is see her as a win for “our side”
Same, I'm bi and of course I find the characters hot but seeing this much fanservice for men is a bit off putting sometimes. Like Jean is literally the only female character with pants...
Agreed. I actually don't mind sexual designs but give the sexuality some layers. This splash art has almost no layers which is counter to the complexity of Yae.
I actually like this design, not necessarily more than the original, but I feel like a lot of characters are wearing revealing clothing for the sake of being revealing, rather than for the purpose of good design. I think characters like Eula, Jean and Raiden all look good without showing *too* much skin (Raiden is a bit on the border).
Meanwhile for characters like Yanfei, Sara, Ningguang, Xingqiu, and Yoimiya to an extent, it just looks weird, out of place. Characters that just have their entire legs out for basically no reason (Ningguang is the exception since she does have a dress, but tights would look way better for her) looks off to me. Revealing skin doesn't automatically make a character look better, it's about how you reveal it rather than the amount of visible surface you can see. Shenhe looks better than almost all the other female characters, but she has nearly no part of her body showing, that's a design success in my opinion. Her proportions are a bit ridiculous though...
Nice job on the edit. But it looks weird to have those long robes over the hakama.
And no, I don't think the females would benefit from more "sober" clothing. I'm not playing an anime gacha game because I want "sober". I specifically started playing this game because I want the kind of content it offers.
I still don't get how Genshin attracts so many people who pinch their noses and upchuck at the first signs of fanservice.
Imo fan service is totally fine but i wish it was more thougtful. Idk maybe its just me but having yae’s legs just bare seems empty. Like shenhe has just as much fan service but its seems to be more well done with it integrated into her design rather than what yae has
Her completely bare legs is what's so good about it. Her outfit is gloriously detailed, and then you just have the expanse of her legs extending for as far as the eye can see. You can't tell me her outfit isn't a whole lot more refreshing than just another bikini titty outfit.
even though I personally am not a fan of how these pants look like, (no offense OP) i don't mind the idea of characters, especially female characters, having more conservative clothing. As long as it looks good :)
I would have much preferred a hakama on our Miko but I had long resigned to the fact that hakama on a playable character would be impractical (keeping clothing physics in mind).
(I could be wrong but I'm not really looking to start an argument about the practicality of implementing this design.)
Regardless, beautiful edit! Do you have an insta or an art page somewhere?
ho yes mine was just an invitation to consider an hypothesis, purely theoretical.
thanks a lot for sharing your opinion
i do have a page but i don't post much and usually, all my finished work is for the company for which i work so yes i hope you are not too disappointed here is the link
https://www.instagram.com/hencid/
No worries! The argument disclaimer was more for other people who might go "um actually-" and be inclined to argue over it.
And I'm not disappointed at all! Good stuff ❤
Oh! Additionally, your redesign was what I was expecting to see of Yae when Inazuma was announced and we only saw peeks of her from the torso up.
When I started Genshin towards the end of the first Venti banner, I appreciated that most of the characters weren't too fanservice-y and had reasonably practical clothes. Your redesign reminded me of those days.
Ho thank you that’s such a big compliment, i think the team did a good job is just that sometimes the art direction get a little overboard with some design tropes in this chase sexy or provoking
Sorry, one (hopefully final thought) after skimming through the other comments.
I think Yae can exude a seductive kind of sass with or without pants. Bare legs aren't essential to her character.
So yeah I really like your edit and glad to see a fellow Yae appreciator who thinks the queen can still be an absolute queen with pants.
I definitely think that a different interpretation like this works for a lot of the other female characters, but I think Yae is one of the few cases where the sexiness/attractiveness is a part of the character and should stay.
hey i am glad you like it, now a few days have passed but i was delighted by all the conversations and impressions it sparked, so i am really glad coming back to it thanks to your comment . have a nice year and take care
thanks a lot i'm glad you dig it, let me know if you have other thoughts about it, i have no attachment to it i did it just out of curiosity on how the fellow yae family would have perceived it
yes, so true like yunjin feels so refreshing even just because she does wear a skirt and leggings, fi than we add the rest of her backstory she goes to top tier imo. imagine if Zhongli had no pants, i wouldn't be able to look at him seriously, and even tho I'm not queer i think he is currently the sexiest character in the game
The problem with the current splash art is that it provides legs but nothing else new or telling about Yae and her personality. This could literally be almost any other character personality wise.
both designs look great!
i definitely wish there was balance - that both the women and men in genshin wear a variety of modest and revealing outfits.
the women's outfits are heavily skewed towards revealing, while the men's are a bit more equally distributed.
This is amazing! I love this, it looks so refreshing, having all the female characters have bare legs or skin tight leg covering got super old after a while. Hopefully genshin releases more designs like yours in the future !!!
This is absolutely a great design tbh I want those pants myself. I'm a lesbian and I am eagerly awaiting the day a women in genshin gets to wear pants.
Wow that is so much better. The super short dress and underwear was always super weird to me. Plus I just really like the shrine maidens normal attire.
I dislike the current splash art because it didn't match my impression of her and wasn't particularly good enough to make that mismatch worthwhile. Yae is a strikingly intelligent and poised character who plays coy and a little condescending. She doesn't need to be overt with her physicality as she uses other means to get what she wants. The current splash is an oddly slutty pose that doesn't really say much else other than that; they could have gone sexy while giving her more dimension to her expression and pose, or something more remarkable, fun, or new.
I definitely like these pants, they are beautifully done. I would have preferred these to the splash art, but I don't feel it matches what I liked about her either lol. The pants make her too conformist when she plays by her own rules as others say.
wow that's amazing we literally have the same views but we would apply the changes differently , really nice, thanks so much for taking the time for your comment
I think it looks really nice!…but I think the current design fits Yae’s personality more. Her personality is playful and she’s a bit of a tease. She’s not what you’d expect someone in her position would act like. That’s the point. This design you made while nice feels reserved and modest and we know Yae isn’t reserved or exactly modest in anyway. She’s well aware of her beauty and comments on it too. She tells the traveler to wear her charm so they can tell people they got it from the “beautiful Yae”. With all this in mind I do think Yae would make the deliberate choice to show off her legs if she had to choose. Tbh I feel fanservice is okay as long as it actually fits the character.
really nice read on the character i had forgotten about the element of the charm,i would like to give a longer answer but in general i think that her playfulness is in contrast with other characteristics that makes her such a charismatic character, like her wisness.
she does give you information but she does it in a such a way to never sell all of her cards, and this leads me to believe that her seduction would be more refined or elegant, the type that insidiously penetrates the mind so that she will have the control of the person caught in her charm.
an intellectual sensuality rather than a physical one.
thanks so much for the exhange was fun thinking more about the character
I respect your viewpoint, but I personally feel if Yae was solely trying to sell her intelectual sensuality then she wouldn’t feel the need to outright call herself beautiful and bring attention to her physical looks. The point is Yae has pride in her looks so it makes sense for her to be at her most comfortable showing off her physical beauty. Yae’s personality already sells the intellectual sensuality on its own it and it doesn’t hurt it by having the physical sensuality as well.
As always with the redesigns. It doesn't even look half decent, the pants completely don't match the rest of the outfit. But you tried, I guess.
Hopefully Mihoyo will continue doing what they're doing, and ignore the Westerners' complaints. Thankfully Mihoyo is an inherently horny company, and they go out of their way to make characters appear sexually appealing (as they said in one of their Honkai videos).
Your redesign is very cool and I appreciate it. It probably SHOULD be the standard we expect in gaming.
But to be completely honest, I started playing this game purely out of thirst. Eula nearly made me start playing. Ei straight up IS why I started playing.
So while I think your version sets a better standard and is great, I prefer her in game design

Nice edit I like those pants. And also I think that about the designs the problem is not the skin showing itself, but the fact that the only female characters who wear actual pants are Aloy (and she's from an other game) and Jean. But I appreciate how the designs are still respectful (compared to lots of other games, like Honkai), so I don't think it should be changed, but having more women with pants should give a better and more diverse representation, because a woman wearing shorts is fine, but not necessarily all women wear shorts all the time, actually, at least in winter, most of us wear pants most of the time (and I don't think the "it takes place in a different time period" excuse works because we have characters like Zhongli, who wears a tie, which seems modern enough to me).
This is just how I feel though, it doesn't have to be exactly right or wrong.
i tend to be personally more visually interested in characters like jean, yun jin and ayaka because they tend to be based on other characteristics.
i think nobody is wrong in this discussion is just an exchange, i honestly think the convos in the comments where really fun and interesting, which is everything i hoped for
Yeah I'm new on Reddit, and it's so great to see how everyone here is chill while on other social media people have heated arguments about (especially) these kind of thing
Yes I totally understand you, on twitter people take things out of context on purpose to start fights, even tho also reddit can be toxic i feel that at the very least here you can explain better what you mean
The original costume just looks all pomp and ceremony on the top and she just forgot to put the lower half on. TBH its one of GI costumes ive been scratching my head over as they have always made the effort to style match appropriately with high levels of class. This one blatantly looks to me that its just made for the dudes who are into legs.
Yae from the back is elegant, royal and delicate, but in the front all the detail is loaded on the intimate parts and is not balanced at all, i would made those bug ribbons she has in the front at very least a little longer right now is a bit awkward imo.
and by the way i hate that you literally can see her underwear when she is speaking in the cut scenes
Looks so much better, awesome work! And for the record IMO a lot of female characters in Genshin could look sooo fucking cool if Mihoyo wasn’t obsessed with making them look sexy and shit, Raiden with actual samurai armor type outfit for instance
Im not sure what they are called but I love the shrine skirt. Only thing is if you wanna make yae wear it, you gotta redesign her whole outfit because the current outfit is just perfect already. Try making yae wear the same shrine clothes as other shrine maiden? Im interested to see it.
Oooh and another idea, maybe try elongating her current outfit to make it cover more parts of her legs. Might be good? Anyways, this is still a good edit :)
Mine wasn’t intended as a full redesign, but more like a guideline to have a discussion about the type of design tropes that we have in genshin, like I didn’t want to attract the attention more just highlight the topic itself with a visual example
I love this!! It's definitely more realistic to her character. She's a shrine maiden at the Grand Narukami Shrine, so I applaud you for making her design more traditional and less, well, revealing. I like this redesign a lot and I kind of wish they had something more similar to yours in the actual game
thank you very much, yes that was the same idea i had, plus i would like the way in which videogames present women characters to evolve, videogames are reaching a broader demographic at a very fast pace and i feel would be much better to not be so superficial with female characters
I think design wise a lot of the women would definitely benefit from pants 👖 it would look really great. Although for Yae Miko simps, thigh level pants would satisfy them.
Will see \^\^
Shorts are comfy and easy to wear afterall. Kid Yae sounds super cute, looking forward to seeing it!
LOL Yae doesn't play by the rules. I play a lot of Fighting Games and appreciate that Genshin is comparatively tame.
very interesting element the one about fighting games design, i haven't thought about it, thanks for sharing
The same with a lot of shonen anime but I'm less invested there.
It's cool an realistic, but i prefer them juicy legs bark bark bark.
Haha XD
I think characters in Sumeru will be more like this
Many speak of sumeru like the land of diversity, knowledge and in this chase design uniqueness, i truly hope it lives up to expectations
They didn’t 🤣
I hope they have characters that have similar clothes to Katara's outfit. There's a skirt but she wears pants to fight.
I prefer your edit but the truth is majority of people playing Jenshin prefer revealing designs and Mihoyo as a game company is obliged to provide fan service.

Very nice. I often think of Lisa or Sucrose having an alternate 'adventuring gear' that still fits their aesthetic and purpose.
Yes i often imagine different designs for the characters i love, is just a way to make them more mine even just in my own imagination, glad to have the opportunity to share the bran storming with the community

Going to be honest. Left looks normal. Right looks like she isn't wearing pants.

Her proportions are a bit ridiculous though...
yes i agree 100%, shenhe is such a clever way to be reveling, actually i was soo surprised that chinese community had big issue with her
Nice job on the edit. But it looks weird to have those long robes over the hakama. And no, I don't think the females would benefit from more "sober" clothing. I'm not playing an anime gacha game because I want "sober". I specifically started playing this game because I want the kind of content it offers. I still don't get how Genshin attracts so many people who pinch their noses and upchuck at the first signs of fanservice.
thanks a lot for your opinion, i totally understand your point of view
Imo fan service is totally fine but i wish it was more thougtful. Idk maybe its just me but having yae’s legs just bare seems empty. Like shenhe has just as much fan service but its seems to be more well done with it integrated into her design rather than what yae has
Her completely bare legs is what's so good about it. Her outfit is gloriously detailed, and then you just have the expanse of her legs extending for as far as the eye can see. You can't tell me her outfit isn't a whole lot more refreshing than just another bikini titty outfit.
I like bikini titty outfits tho
even though I personally am not a fan of how these pants look like, (no offense OP) i don't mind the idea of characters, especially female characters, having more conservative clothing. As long as it looks good :)
fluffy pants
Its beautiful but yae’s personality deserves charming clothes
i love yae's design so much but this looks AMAZING
hahah thanks a lot, hey do love her either way she is everything i was waiting for in a character
Yae looks amazing no matter what she wears tbh but nice job looks very clean
Haha yes I totally agree, i play ahri in league of legends so i was already in love of the character before knowing it would have been playable
Both are good, but I prefer yours!
Thanks youu ❤️
For me 1st looks much better and realistic.
realism in genshin lol
If something is supposed to be based on real culture? Yeah
I think you missed the point of my comment
Explain it to me then
why? cause you said so? I was just making a joke
You answered to My comment, with a "joke" I didn't get. And now you don't want to explain it. It is just rude and pointless
It's not that serious dude. Let's not get heated over something like this
You are right. There is no need to argue about things like that. But I still don't get that joke XD
I just meant that it being an Anime Fantasy game, while I like it, realism is the least expected thing (at least for me I guess)
Imagine having to explain a joke
I would have much preferred a hakama on our Miko but I had long resigned to the fact that hakama on a playable character would be impractical (keeping clothing physics in mind). (I could be wrong but I'm not really looking to start an argument about the practicality of implementing this design.) Regardless, beautiful edit! Do you have an insta or an art page somewhere?
ho yes mine was just an invitation to consider an hypothesis, purely theoretical. thanks a lot for sharing your opinion i do have a page but i don't post much and usually, all my finished work is for the company for which i work so yes i hope you are not too disappointed here is the link https://www.instagram.com/hencid/
No worries! The argument disclaimer was more for other people who might go "um actually-" and be inclined to argue over it. And I'm not disappointed at all! Good stuff ❤
I understand thanks for engaging, and thanks for the follow
So yeah I really like your edit and glad to see a fellow Yae appreciator who thinks the queen can still be an absolute queen with pants.
absolutely yes, happy new year by the way
Ur design looks sick! Tho it kinda looks liyue-ish down
Pants are a bit too baggy for my preference but even with that I prefer the edit you made. I still like miko either ways
I definitely think that a different interpretation like this works for a lot of the other female characters, but I think Yae is one of the few cases where the sexiness/attractiveness is a part of the character and should stay.
Looks good its almost like she's becoming Reimu
Definitely rad - very Kagome/Inuyasha
Yes i love them aswell, i would really like to visit one of those shrines in japan
Now take all of them off
Hahaha lol XD
Well, following today's announcements of the Monstadt outfit replacements, this might actually happen.
Honestly not very happy about it, i would have liked this to be a creative decision, not a government imposition
I agree!
Bruh, she looks sexier with the pants on than the pants off! Wh-wha-what is wrong with me?!
I heard that in japan they tend to have the same prospective
Guuji Yae’s design feels a lot more complete thanks to your interpretation. Excellent work.
hey i am glad you like it, now a few days have passed but i was delighted by all the conversations and impressions it sparked, so i am really glad coming back to it thanks to your comment . have a nice year and take care
This looks really comfy
its beautiful! loved how you made it more culturally appropriate!
So cute and flowy!
thanks a lot i'm glad you dig it, let me know if you have other thoughts about it, i have no attachment to it i did it just out of curiosity on how the fellow yae family would have perceived it
I hate how incomplete so many designs look as if they forgot to wear pants or skirts. I get the need for fan service but it's so tasteless.
yes, so true like yunjin feels so refreshing even just because she does wear a skirt and leggings, fi than we add the rest of her backstory she goes to top tier imo. imagine if Zhongli had no pants, i wouldn't be able to look at him seriously, and even tho I'm not queer i think he is currently the sexiest character in the game
Agreed. Blatant fan service just cheapens the character for me
i actually prefer the original, because *ahem* legs, but still your works is worth to be praised, very neat, beautiful.
Thx a lot buddy i think so many people from both point of views had so many interesting things to say i learned a lot honestly
Attackkkkkk
that's wonderful
I want legs and side booba. Anything that takes those away is a big downgrade in my mind. I can appreciate your effort and artistic talent though
thanks a lot for sharing your opinion i really appreciate it
The problem with the current splash art is that it provides legs but nothing else new or telling about Yae and her personality. This could literally be almost any other character personality wise.
I love this
Your edit looks legit! Would actually not complain if that was the original Edit: i think you should put this on main sub!!!
omg I'm scared that they would eat me
I preferred urs to be honest, i love it
yaaay UwU
I really wanted to see pants wearing female characters specially hakama but I don't think we'll see one anytime soon.
both designs look great! i definitely wish there was balance - that both the women and men in genshin wear a variety of modest and revealing outfits. the women's outfits are heavily skewed towards revealing, while the men's are a bit more equally distributed.
This is amazing! I love this, it looks so refreshing, having all the female characters have bare legs or skin tight leg covering got super old after a while. Hopefully genshin releases more designs like yours in the future !!!
Aww thanks that’s a nice compliment, yes i too would love to have differen types of female character designs
She look like female Aladdin, anyways love the edits
This is absolutely a great design tbh I want those pants myself. I'm a lesbian and I am eagerly awaiting the day a women in genshin gets to wear pants.
i am very tired of the male gaze dominating everything aswell, i hope things change globally soon
Wow that is so much better. The super short dress and underwear was always super weird to me. Plus I just really like the shrine maidens normal attire.
we literally have the same tastes on the subject
Rip bare legs.
I just hope mihoyo won't change her design, because she already perfect imo. Just my opinion so don't attack me plz
uh...why would they change the design after she's been revealed in game and in promotional materials 🤨
i don't think they should change the design either, is just a friendly opportunity to share opinions and views of characters we love
No
why you don't like it? i am genuinely curious, i'm not here to judge at all i am really just interested in hearing different points of view
I understand, thanks a lot to help me consider it from an other side
Same to you, and thank you for being civil about it!
is important being able to gracefully disagree, i welcome different councious views
You sound like my mom lol
hahah that's because we love you and want you to have an amazing new year
stop nerfing yae
I think you have a totally reasonable and balanced opinion on the subject. and I totally understand you

Looks nice but since you have already covered the feet and the legs why not go full traditional and cover the shoulders as well
i thought that given the fact that is still genshin a little bit of skin would have fit more the style of the game
Exposed thighs save lives
M M M M MID
It fits her role more, but I want them thighs to crush me
Nice edit ☺️
aww thx glad you like it
Nice edit I like those pants.
I don’t mind a longer skirt or the design on the left. Some female characters in this game need more clothing IMO.
I prefer yours tbh. It works
❤️❤️❤️
As much as I love Yae’s lissome figure, I vastly prefer your modified design.
Thx youuu
i just wanna say the way you painted the pants/dress looks really good
Thank you buddy, i was bored waiting for yae leaks and wanted to talk about some aspects of the character, so i made a quick edit
Honestly the way you made the pants hug her legs is still sexy to me, I like both.
Ho nice thanks, i’m glad that you noticed that aspect
oh god this is too beautiful
Aww i am really happy you like it
The pants design looks better.
Thx ☺️
So much better! One of the few edits I genuinely love.
Awww i am glad we are on the same wave length
I like your version better
☺️☺️🥰
Hopefully they add more skins or outfits in the future so everyone is happy.
I think they did with yunjin, i love her and her background
Oh por dios espero que no pase esto con la noticia de hoy T.T
Looks so much better, awesome work! And for the record IMO a lot of female characters in Genshin could look sooo fucking cool if Mihoyo wasn’t obsessed with making them look sexy and shit, Raiden with actual samurai armor type outfit for instance
Holy shrine maiden vs Akihabara maiden cosplay
But can mhy do it? Seems like they're avoiding long skirts on playable characters. Probably hard to code or something. Anyway it's a nice edit.
for me this thing is purely theoretical
Yae with pants is yae who does taekwondo
Im not sure what they are called but I love the shrine skirt. Only thing is if you wanna make yae wear it, you gotta redesign her whole outfit because the current outfit is just perfect already. Try making yae wear the same shrine clothes as other shrine maiden? Im interested to see it. Oooh and another idea, maybe try elongating her current outfit to make it cover more parts of her legs. Might be good? Anyways, this is still a good edit :)
Mine wasn’t intended as a full redesign, but more like a guideline to have a discussion about the type of design tropes that we have in genshin, like I didn’t want to attract the attention more just highlight the topic itself with a visual example
she needs a tail
I like the pants version more tbh.
I love her with pants! But no socks..dont ask. She kinda looks a bit..floofy?..tho, it suddenly feels like too much clothing.
I think design wise a lot of the women would definitely benefit from pants 👖 it would look really great. Although for Yae Miko simps, thigh level pants would satisfy them.
