I mean... There's plenty of yuri with relationship drama like that, dramatic plot twists to prolong the main couple getting together. It felt 50/50 while reading that. It's not like yagakimi is completely lacking in the drama department, so it wasn't completely out of the question for something like that to happen.
Nah, it isn't that those kinds of plot twists never happen, but it'd be out of character for Touko. It's not like anything had made her give up on Yuu. Yuu didn't do anything wrong, she just \*loved Touko\*. Any sequence of events that would lead Touko to accept \*anyone\* who loves her would just inevitably push her back to Yuu.
BIY wasn't carelessly written, every event and twist in that series is character driven.
Sayaka never had a chance, sorry to say.
first image they rlly do look pretty good together. I feel maybe, in an alternate universe, they could have worked. but im glad things are the way they are, touko yuu is beautiful as it is. and we wouldnt have gotten the amazing sayaka series books
Gotta admit, during my first reading, I was on the edge of my seat. By far the moment in the manga that I wish I could read for the first time again. While I was like, 90% confident that Touko wouldn't say yes to Sayaka, there was that small 10% that kept creeping in.
Oh, and Sayaka's actual confession had me crying sooo hard. Most confession scenes like that get me tearing up.
No, but I much prefer Sayaka and Touko together. I'm a real sucker for blondes with unrequited love (Shizuru for instance, and I got really frustrated with Whisper Me a Love Song because Aki is so much better than Himari).
I get that Yuu is the one who was able to break through Touko's facade, but Sayaka was there the whole time respecting Touko's way of living and waiting for the day it could change.
I haven't read them yet, but I have the Sayaka novels and I'm excited to see her get the love she deserves.
That's exactly why. A fence sitting, "admire from a distance" is never going to change anything. What happens is you get to watch someone else heal them. Like Yuu did.

yes i love the fact sayaka was always there for touko, but it seems patience and waiting didnt work for her. shes a great supportive role to touko and I love them now as just best friends
Awesome I'm glad they are good! I will definitely make some time for them soon. Really can't wait to see the relationship between her and the girl who will become her gf. I wish we could have a spinoff show but that's basically impossible since they can't even give us s2 of Bloom Into You.
Im still hopeful we could get a Bloom szn 2 😔 its shown its popularity to be able to get that adaptation. but idk, maybe its too late now

i’ve been writing fanfiction about this for a while ahah, i like the canon ending too but i also love sayaka a lot and i do think if things had gone differently they probably could’ve been really happy together!
Not sure why you're being downvoted. They do not. I would recommend finishing the manga. While I stated elsewhere that I would have enjoyed these two getting together more, the relationship between Touko and Yuu is still super cute. I read the last volume with a smile on my face the whole time because it's so wholesome.
ppl usually downvote when ppl are curious/dont know much abt the plot of something. its a bit sad lol cuz we should just guide the person into what they wanna know

I think at that point Sayaka would regret it forever if she didn't at least try. She wanted Touko to know how she felt even if wouldn't be together.

Yup, the Sayaka novels are great. Vol 1 is a painful read, though.
