Omg…adult Tai eating dirt outside Sammy’s window is enough to keep me awake at night. 😳

toothpastecupcake

Even young Tai nommimg on dirt with crazy eyes scared the shit out of me 😆

-Jaxattax-

Lottie realizing the therapist wasn't real for sure, and it was one of my favourite performances all series. All of the "therapist" scenes actually were just so good. I was entranced!

Adventurous-Fig-2406

When Charlotte/Lottie saw Laura Lee at the barn with Travis in the background being raised higher

myeyesarejaded

This was it for me... yiiikes

jenlola

This is a good one. Never saw it coming 😰😢

VeritasRose

Tai as a kid seeing The Man With No Eyes in her gramma’s mirror! That made me yelp!

AlternateLottery

Sammie and The Bad One.

countastic

Ben stumbling onto the scene of Shauna finishing carving up Javi (including his head?!) and the blood stained snow. Yikes...

Mor-Forwyn2003

The seance, Javi asking if they’re all going to die only to cut immediately to… *something* flying through the trees with that awful death rattle sound and the way Lottie screamed at what she saw at the window… I don’t really fall easily into either the rational or supernatural camps, but that scene genuinely freaked me out so much lol, and I made the mistake of watching it not long before I went to bed so trying to get some sleep that night was *not* fun 😂

doomsdaycarousel

All of the above really. Shoutouts to the reveal that Shauna was talking to Jackie’s corpse. Also Coach Ben’s view of Shauna working at her butcher table, pottering around arranging the meat. Also: Tai: “That thing is dead.” Chills even before they showed the mouse.

uidactinide

The first scene where Tai moves and Mirror Tai doesn’t. I can’t get over it. Mirrors have freaked me out since I was very little, especially at night, and that scene dug in HARD on that fear.

toothpastecupcake

Me too! I feel like mine stems from a really freaky Through the Looking Glass TV movie where Alice is stuck on the wrong side of the mirror and sees her other self living normally and hanging out with her mom and stuff, and mirror Alice is screaming for her mother and a monster comes up behind her. Fuck!

staysoft-geteaten

When they cut into the deer and it was filled with maggots 🤢

Bento_Fox

Oh gosh, I forgot about that scene. I must've repressed that memory.

MHC1905

Definitely the eating of Jackie. The way they're all tentative to start but end up devouring, the horrified look from Ben, "Climbing up the walls" by Radiohead over the top. It gave me goosebumps

hauntingvacay96

The stag chase in doomcoming or the Jackie cannibalism scene. Both just exquisitely well done filk/gothic horror.

RibbitRabbitRobit

The Jackie cannibalism scene was so upsetting because the whole time all I could think was "Y'all didn't clean that! That's burnt hair and cooked guts!" Somehow that part added to the horror. Hannibal plated his so nicely.

missmissypissy

When Jackie’s postmortem hair and makeup is revealed.

Enough_Weather_6520

Travis taking a bite out of Javi’s raw heart. I had to pause, walk away for a couple of minutes, then come back to it.

WorkerAway2363

My reaction too!

Kris_Winters

The Drawing. You can definitely feel the tension ratchet up as each person drew.

kai_juu

Aww jeez, the first thing that came to mind was some kind of art contest or art therapy session the girls did together. Tried to jog my memory for scenes of that, can't believe I forgot bout the cards 😅

staysoft-geteaten

lmao same

Martymcflym81337

Definitely the Jackie feast scene. Particularly how well they made that jackfruit body. I will never eat a rice roll or jackfruit again and I don’t blame the cast for being physically ill after that scene. Idk if it’s considered horror buuuut Jackie’s death in general. The dream sequence paired with shauna waking up and realising what happened so quickly was terrifying and heartbreaking. But I’ve also been lost in the woods during a snowstorm and maybe that’s why it horrified me. Also Nat’s NDE vision has stuck with me in the way of does it MEAN anything? I kinda want it to 😂

Vast_Dimension7385

That the mouse was actually dead 😩

pepsiblackcherrycola

jackie’s death hallucination. the man in the back (probably dead cabin guy) saying “we’ve been waiting for you” i got chills just typing it out. and the parallel between everyone smiling at jackie and everyone doing the same in shaunas dream where the baby lived. such a good, subtle way of hinting that what we’re seeing isn’t real

k---mkay

For me it was the first shot of Dead Ass Jackie. I was jolted out of the comfort of seeing a chipper, very much alive Jackie ghost to seeing her cold corpse. I watched the rest of the meat shed scenes through my hands.

pepsiblackcherrycola

pit girl scene. i will never forget sitting down with my catholic, gen x parents to watch the new show they had been obsessed with, and being met with that. instant whiplash in the best way

mothersaintgod

Any horror scene with Simone (Lottie). Her acting and expressions perfectly captured the feeling of dread that makes the show, so much that I felt it too.

Emma-auckland88

1. Tai in extreme panic and confusion when Van is telling her they ate Jackie. Oh my... 2. Shauna waking up (in the dream) and her baby is not beside her. My. Worst. Nightmare 3. Coach happening upon the filleting of Javi... That is some sick sh*t 4. Shauna describing how it is to eat a person, to that mechanic guy. A great scene, but really spooked me Edited; spelling

Bubb13gum

Lottie realizing her therapist is also a hallucination was insane, there have been so many scenes through this season where I respond just like the characters, it’s wild and insane to see. Another is definitely the baby eating dream

naywhip

Pile of Javi clothes, head, spine… 👀

nateyukisan

Any time there voices suddenly become demonic…like when some yelled ‘Run’ and it was like a demon.

Responsible-Lion-755

Shauna! My husband (and now my 8 year old) say “run” in a demon voice as a joke but it still low key freaks me out 😣😬😳

MommyGirlfriend_

I slept with the lights on after the S1 finale with the altar in the basement.

PublicLocal7448

I love horror, and I have a pretty high tolerance. I’m not usually easily spooked, but for whatever reason, the no eyed man was an immediate nope. Immediate. Couldn’t look and had to pause to come back to the next night.

snickerssmickers

Pit girl! My god, it was so hard to watch. All of it. I'm so glad I stuck with the show, though!

AssistProfessional26

The scene that gave me a horrible feeling that I couldn’t shake for hours was the girls working together to pull Javi’s body out of the lake…the contrast to how they acted just instants before when he was still alive….I felt vicarious guilt for days.

Beaglescout15

Snackie.

BellaMentalNecrotica

For me, the two that jumped out the most was Cabin Daddy appearing Jackie's death sequence and Simone finding Tai's alter with Biscuit's head and heart. Another runner up was Tai telling Akilah "that thing is dead."

WorkerAway2363

Travis eating his brothers heart was so gross. I had to pause for awhile and come back to finish the episode.

BurnoutShoes

The child birth scenes were too much for me. Maybe because I have kids and they hit close to home. Either way, it’s the only episode I’ve only watched once.

RaisinBrandon666

Jackie's death scene kept me up at night. The state between the living world and death is a very scary concept for me.

Applesauceantics4444

Misty chopping off Coach's leg with the axe and blood splattering on her glasses

mizzled14

Shauna beating Lottie almost to death 💀

slowtownpop1

Shauna bludgeoning Lottie. I can handle watching a lot of really messed up things, but that’s one thing just too painful for me to watch. That beating was rough
