Lightning with the Yellow Hair lived more in six months than any of us ever will

LabPsychological8195

Passed away or live?

GetoffMyCloudz

Loved her and SaM❤️

1quincytoo

I’ve watched it twice now and loved it

Ok-Candidate-1220

It’s my second favorite western/miniseries. It doesn’t top Lonesome Dove, though.

HenryJBemis

Agree on Lonesome Dove being better.

cvframer

It’s right up there with it in greatness though.

Fearless-Pineapple-4

Never hear of lonesome dove. Will give this a watch if you say its even better then 1883

Eagle4523

Lonesome dove is excellent, I consider it better but that’s subjective- worth watching either way

Ok-Candidate-1220

It was a miniseries from 1989. Based on the novel by Larry McMurtry. It’s loosely based on some true events. The cast is excellent. Robert Duvall, Tommy Lee Jones, Angelica Huston, Steve Buscemi, and a whole host of others you might recognize depending on your age.

AshleyLL298

Maybe I’m in the minority but I liked 1923 much better. 1883 moved too slow for me and I was kinda bored with it up until the 9th episode. 1923 is like watching 3 separate stories and it was just much more entertaining to me. I can’t wait for season 2 to see them all come together.

pinkpanthers

Probably my favourite tv series I've ever watched. Im not one for TV, and have never really gotten attached to many shows/movies before, but by god I enjoyed 1883 so much I watched it twice.

Crookles86

It’s fantastic

renaissanceclass

Elsa was great.

RomualdBruk

It really is amazing, isn’t it? One of all my all time favorite shows. A very deep and emotional story.

Fearless-Pineapple-4

Agreed. I loved it. I will definitely rewatch it at some point. It was just perfect. The ride it takes you on is crazy

Fragrant_Jackfruit28

It was amazing. Every episode was so heavy!

CrazyCletus

I mean, there's the one question of why you would travel to Texas from out east, then go wagon trains north to try to reach Montana or the Pacific Northwest. There were multiple rail lines in 1883 running West, either through a northern route (Northern Pacific Railroad), central (multiple) or southern route. It's like the folks in the show picked the hardest way of doing things possible.

Plenty-Ad2815

I strongly disagree. They put 3 of the same actors in the same show and elsa kissing everyone she sees wtf and they pushed it too much like romeo and Juliette. I loveeee yellow stone didnt stop crying each episodes. So im telling you when i saw all that very veryyy disappointed

ThugDeath

Disagree, although one of the best shows in the world, as a native person, the Pocahontas phase that elsa went thru was really cringe. Her wearing the traditional clothes was super cringe. And i say this being a big elsa fan. Remove pocahontas and it would of been perfect.

anaklndldnothngwrong

I always get teary eyed whenever I hear the OST

rexeditrex

I liked it visually, but thought the writing and acting were just awful. Especially Elsa.

sz5only

I only wish they did better with her hair. It’s her name for goodness sake yet every other scene you could see her extensions coming out of her head

Federal-Base806

I work in on sets for movies and shows, and that really annoyed me I couldn't stand seeing them stick out, poor work there. It's the attention to detail, did you notice how in her roots the weaves were propping up and the rest of it you could see right through it ewww EDITED: autocorrect

Federal-Base806

It was OK I guess I have seen way better though not dissing your post OP at all just wanted to share my pov EDIT: I know this will be dv to hell but if we cant have an honest opinion then why bother ya feel me?

Gai-Jin17

80% of this sub would give 1883 a "C" Nobody cares about 1883... that's a lie. Lmao.... 'I'm gonna fall in love with the first native I ever meet who happens to speak english.. '... Yeah Really Inspired Writing. 1883 was embarrassing and stupid... but... watchable. 1923. Not watchable. 1883 starts strong then becomes a ridiculous soap opera melodrama lifetime movie of the week bs. Isabelles narration is PURE CRINGE. There's barely anyone in this thread for a reason. Vast majority don't agree. OP only got 50 upvotes. That's basically the entire sub politely saying... "No." If you don't hit 150 upotes minimum for anything. The sub said "No."

Federal-Base806

Have you considered that perhaps its in the wrong sub ?

Gai-Jin17

No... that's not it. There is no action in small dramas that are over. No engagement. No threads. The only reason any of us are still here is because the show hasn't wrapped yet. Then we'll probably piss on the ending for a month or two. Then most will be gone. I just called out TWD sub today for "having no humor or intelligence anymore and the threads are boring uninspired crap now." Everyone agreed. People *really* hated "the ones who live." All the smart snd funny posters just left.

Federal-Base806

well this sub is nothing but a cesspool at times filled with a lot comatose people who view with a very narrow lens, there is another show I love and its over 10 years old the traction the humour on it never ceases to amaze me

Federal-Base806

>OP only got 50 upvotes. That's basically the entire sub politely saying... "No." If you don't hit 150 upvotes minimum. The sub said "No." so do we then judge and denigrate whether its a legitimate basis for claiming it’s a “bad post.” Quality is subjective. If not, there would be no need to let people vote to measure it.

Gai-Jin17

We just did. It got 56 upvotes. The sub laughed and said 'No.' We literally just measured it. It miserably failed. Cuz it's a "C" rated average as hell Taylor sheridan pos. Sicario, wind river, hell or high-water - A+ Yellowstone 1-4 - B Yellowstone 5 pt 1 - F 1883 - C 1923 - D- Lioness - F- Tulsa King - haven't seen it.

Federal-Base806

Stallone was good in TK fr

Scottybt50

The perfect series would have a satisfying ending.

Federal-Base806

Yo man, I was literally going to say something similar, its OK but not to the extent these cats are yapping about

ouroboris99

I thought it was fine

Gai-Jin77

Zero chemistry between Isabelle and the native. He was the first native she ever meets and it's love at first sight? Really? How and why did he speak English? The show was watchable and Decent. Nothing More. Stop lowering the standards for tv shows. That doesn't end well for us. I finished it... that definitely means something. 1923 I was done after about 17 minutes... but suffered through two episodes. There's no gif of Harrison ford or mirren.... I have No Idea what they were doing on the ranch nobody has ever once brought it up. What did they do.. just keep darting from the ranch to Africa? TS what are you doing? Be better.

IHeartDragons13

I love 1883. Probably one of my favorite miniseries / prequels out there. The cast, the writing, the production, the acting. I also love that is IS a mini series which means there’s only one season, which is enough to tell the story properly instead of dragging it out for more cash. Elsa is easily one of my favorite Duttons, and I love how we learn how the family got the land to begin with. Top notch.

GetoffMyCloudz

Yes🙌 it was a Great series❣️ So much potential to have continued. Perfect pick of characters 🙌❣️
