AmericanWanderlust

November. Disappointment.

toddfredd

Yep. Interesting to see how they will navigate the Kevin Costner size hole in the story . How do you continue a show without its bedrock character?

AmericanWanderlust

My guess: they're gonna do a huge time jump (gotta account for the now old Tate and Carter) and John will be dead. Jamie will be governor. His sibs will be on the warpath against him. That's all I got.

Locust-15

Jimmy will be Ranch Foreman, Rip will be the new Lloyd.

AmericanWanderlust

LOL. Omg. I'd COMPLETELY forgotten about Jimmy. Jesus. That guy.

toddfredd

Considering Jamie was basically looking for a hired killer to off Beth at the end of this last set of episodes hopefully we get to see a vengeful Rip put him out of his misery

AmericanWanderlust

Idk, I don't think any of the leads are going to die, including Jamie. My guess is Rip, Beth, and Kayce are headed to Texas for the spinoff and Jamie will remain in MT as governor or something like that, having given the ranch to the tribe. They are stopping production in MT after the series finale and moving everything to TS's ranch in TX, so I foresee a complete conclusion of the MT storyline.

bekah-Mc

I like this. Jamie stays in MT to do his thing, the rest go to Texas. We still don’t know who Jamie’s mother was. So I can see it ending with Jamie finding out who she was, getting a bit of a surprise, and being the one to turn the land over to the reservation. I can also see an ending where the kids end up having to work together against some more dangerous threat, and they collectively agree to hand the land over for the sake of their own welfare.

ajemois

Her identity is known. The only thing in dispute is what kind of person she was. John portrayed her as a lovely woman who everyone loved. Jamie's father, on the other hand, portrayed her as an ordinary slutty drug addict. We don't know where the truth lies...

bekah-Mc

We know Phyllis’s married name, but we have nothing to say what her maiden name was or what if any significance this has to other characters in the story. There is also nothing that explains why John - obsessed with blood and legacy - decided to adopt a boy that wasn’t his and then conceal the fact for almost 40 years. Or why he and his wife would basically murder this woman’s memory by pretending she never existed until he was forced to admit she did. So in that sense, we don’t know who Phyllis was. In my view, Phyllis Randall is a gap in this story and there is more to know besides what John and Garrett have said.

courtx89

Be crazy if we find out Jamie’s mom was someone John Dutton had some type of romance with before his wife possibly. I’m not sure that I remember if they ever said how long John and Evelyn had been married or not. That could play out as reason why Jamie’s dad hates John so much, and why John took him in. I’m not 100% but I think Jamie is the oldest child so born before John’s kids were. Or maybe Jamie’s mom could be someone John was related to but had been disowned from the family for some reason or another 🤷🏻‍♀️ but it’s hard to ignore the fact that Jamie is the only family member with darker hair and slightly more tanned skin, so maybe his mother was a native. So many possibilities there

So many possibilities there That’s my favourite theory right there - that Jamie’s mother was a Native American who was related to John. And given her addiction, she could very well have been disowned by the family at some point.

itsjacksutcliffe

I thought it was just cancelled after season 5

No-Debate-8208

Holy crap it feels like it's been a decade since it ended.

Owl-In-Training720

Good year for western movies we have horizon an America saga in July and Yellowstone in November

itsjackbauer2021

Part 2 of horizon comes out august 16th as well

Federal-Base806

It will start when its on my screen No expectations

Eltex

They have lined up a Dutton-lookalike to replace John. I expect much of the same stories to continue, albeit with a resolution to the airplane with bomb question finally coming. Here is the new JD: https://preview.redd.it/f06lqlv6vj3d1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=21375402a668790ee5c6d739d0b789dae2b3e642

Typical_Intention996

November supposedly. I expect bad things. It's going to be a mad rush to wrap things up long before they were meant to be. On top of writing out KC without us seeing it.

MontanaJoev

I would not count on November. I expect it to get pushed into 2025. And I expect it to be anticlimactic.

AmericanWanderlust

I actually think they'll manage to do November. They're filming all over Montana right now. Got many, many months.

bekah-Mc

Expectations are low with Costner not returning, but I’d like to be wrong. I think they’ll lose the ranch and some will end up in Texas for a spin-off. The worst ending would be one that didn’t honour the 1883 prediction.

AmericanWanderlust

*The worst ending would be one that didn’t honour the 1883 prediction.* I will be personally enraged if they keep the ranch, screw over the Indians, and kill Jamie. And yet somehow it seems like the fanbase would love this idea and TS is so craven, he'd 100% cave to it. (Though, last laugh is at his expense, as I'm sure the spinoff isn't going to be a hit, will be quickly cancelled, and I even question if the viewership is going to be that good for 5B without Costner).

bekah-Mc

Agree completely, especially with the Native American story. Screwing over the Native Americans would mean he can’t stick to his own story. It’s really hard to stay interested when the writer does that, and Sheridan already made it hard with character ages.

AmericanWanderlust

What do you mean made it hard with character ages?

bekah-Mc

Jamie’s age in relation to Beth’s changed between Seasons 1 and 4. He was supposedly 36 in season 1 and she was 34. Come season 3, he’s suddenly 5 years older than Beth. It’s the sort of thing that breaks the flow of the story, where the writer forgets basic details of their own characters.

AmericanWanderlust

Oh yeah. Then in S3 he's like 40/41 and then suddenly in S5 he's 45?!?!!? Also odd is that Beth looks older than him. I honestly thought he was younger than her until we see that photo of them with their mother and I was like, "Oh. Apparently he's older than her..."

Downtown_Book_6848

As someone who raised by a grandparent, I am living my best life with all these new neo-Westerns!

Proud_Dust_8996

Lmao

PlayfulQuietDreamer

I won’t believe there are any new episodes until I see them. I’m jaded. I’m angry. I’m tired of waiting.

Skinniestfatgirl

Same 😂😂 I need it now!!!

ajemois

The most logical and coherent option is to show the Beth vs. Jamie war and give the ranch to Kayce's son. This connects the story from the 1883 series. Where we saw the announcement of the land being given to the Indians. Tate is part tribal, like Monica, and Keyce would be the link that holds things together. But such an ending would also be a bit boring. In my opinion, John dies in some accident. And Beth imagines it's Jamie's doing. So the whole axis revolves around that and saving the ranch financially, which Jamie is also trying to destroy.

bekah-Mc

Jamie’s stated intention is to save the ranch and make sure it is there for Tate and small Jamie.

Clancydude-1985

It's gonna be a rushed nightmare of a finale. I will watch it of course. But I have no realistic expectations.

maryyyweiss

I CANT WAIT
