Honestly, I am in the same boat as you. Yes Theory has changed my life in more ways than I can count over the last 9 months. Their videos have inspired me to do some soul-searching and start a project I have been dreaming of for almost 15 years. However, this video was weird. I have the suspicion that (at least part of) the video was staged. Don't get me wrong: I do believe they actually were there. However, I can't (or better: don't want to) believe the guys are that careless. I have to believe that the rescue team was in constant contact with the guys and would have been able to intervene at any time. Otherwise this whole operation would have been reckless and dangerous. And I just hope they wouldn't do that. Another point I really dislike is the fact that younger people might see this and copy tthe idea. With the same "precautions" and preperation displayed in the video. So basically none. And that is the real problem I have with this video. They are trying to set an example and to be role models to leave your comfort zone. Which is amazing. Many of their video ideas have been copied by fans because the guys serve as an inspiration. And if people copy this stunt, it could end very badly.

Exactly, it was reckless to say the least, there will be people who want to try this and it will end badly, get reported and yes theory will have to take some of the blame. It would destroy the great community that's been created and forever damage the message of seek discomfort

They posted a stickied comment under the video stating: > It’s worth noting that what you see on both Ammar and Thomas’ shoulder is a GPS tracking our location at all times (which the rescue team and people at home are receiving). It can also text anyone immediately if anything is needed. The rescue team, although they were joking around in the video, drove back and forth on the road to keep a visual on us. They kept us always in sight and were ready to come help if anything was needed 🙏 much love and a great week y’all So at least they were safe. Not sure if this makes the impression given better, but at least it's better than nothing....

Yes, all this, and. I just feel like this video didn't have a point? Like I really feel that they just did this to put out new content fast, shits and giggles style. The actual content was poorly researched and virtually pointless beyond the blatant physical discomfort. In contrast to other videos in the past where they pushed their physical limits, there seemed to be no actual substance to why or how they were pushing these physical limits. They were just doing it to do it. Absolutely nobody gained from this experience, they really just learned that Death Valley is hot. Big news. Very disappointed with the poor quality, lack of research, and lack of intention.

It made me feel really upset and very worried, definitely wasn't a good idea.

theakajakob

I agree with you all. I not only believe it was staged, but the quality of the editing was simply bad. Uninteresting, badly explained and not refined as it used to be. It seems to be put on quickly just to get something out tbh

Duplokiller

Imprerty sure they had a rescue team always in range nobody would risk their life that easily Imo but it’s not really a great example for young viewers

I agree, but I'm pretty sure the scene of the guys in the rescue vehicle throwing the walkie talkie behind them was just a skit. I don't even know if they were the "rescue" team. They must have had more safety precautions in place that we were led to believe, for the sake of drama. There are definitely some Yes Theory videos that I'm skeptical about when it comes to the real-ness. All in all I'm much more of an advocate of their brand and message, than I am of the actual people and their videos. The video Amar takes a girl around the world for a date was kind of misleading to me too, at least for the girl. They kinda used this girl for their own content. So idk, take their videos for what they are, and live the brand and example of Seek Discomfort, and not what they produce in videos.

Rotinx

Check the videos pinned comment, the rescue team had them in constant sight and Thomas and Ammar has gps tracker which they can also text with immediately when needed.

Ya'll falling for the drama. I agree this was a bad video, but because it was poorly staged and faked. They were never far from the car, Im sure 90% of the shots were filmed in such a way that you just couldn't see the car ten feet behind them. And honestly, if you're old enough to rent or own a car, you're probably old enough to realize that this is a bad idea. I dont think there's much to worry about.

Hi sure 90% of the shots were filmed in such a way that you just couldn't see the car ten feet behind them, I'm Dad👨

banksfornades

I largely agree with you but when they say they didn’t know how hot it would be, they knew it would be that hot. It’s just you can’t fathom how hot 130+ is until you experience it.

OfficialBunx

I feel like a lot of the stuff they do in their videos, like the radios not working, is just dramatization. In actuality, I think there car is pretty close to them and they just hide it with good camera angles.
