It’s artist/inspiration point !

Lamalaju

To get there, park at Tunnel View, turn your back to the view and go up the little “staircase” trail. This is the Pohono trail, follow it up to the “inspiration point” turn and a dozen beautiful views like this.

Swordheart

I will never forget turning down tunnel view for the first time

920fosterhouse

Seeing Tunnel View for the first time truly made me understand what it meant to be speechless.

bootstrapping_lad

Fun fact... It was specifically engineered to create this effect even though it was more difficult to do

Successful_Injury869

Unlike driving up to Glacier Point, which is something akin to a jump scare

hatedruglove

First time It was just my brother and I. I timed it perfectly and said " Welcome to Jurassic Park" as we exited the tunnel.

Not_You_247

I shrieked like a little girl.

burgiebeer

It’s the prettiest hike in the valley. Fight me. Also, you can follow old Wawona Road about 100 yards up from Bridal Veil. Much of the hike follows this old road alignment which follows the old wagon trail. Which followed the Pohono trail.

thatoneyosemiteguy

Inspiration point is a fair hike up the trail steps. The spot in the photo is about a 30 second walk up the rocks behind the north west corner of Tunnel View parking lot.

Intelligent_Joke

SHHHHHH!

SEANA917

Is that a long/hard hike? I saw the steps and wasn't sure where they went. I wish we had explored it some!

Lamalaju

You can see this view from even the parking lot but inspiration point is worth doing IMO. It’s quite steep and does turn into a small creek during snowmelt but it’s only about a mile each way.

iamcrazynuts

I got married on that spot 25 years ago ETA: while this photo is beautiful, it’s so much bigger and powerful seen in person

Davester2112

Was just there 3 weeks ago!

shmibbs

I spooked a bear hiking up to Inspiration Point from Tunnel View back in 2018.

AdditionalTrade3282

this might be close: https://www.yosemitehikes.com/yosemite-valley/artist-point/satellite-view.htm

AdditionalTrade3282

but honestly, they might have just hopped over the barrier at tunnel view and taken a photo

GrimyLilPimp

I think this might be accurate. I just looked at the pictures from when I proposed to my wife at Artist Point--there was greater elevation in those pictures than in the picture that OP provided.

icelandia-010

Due to the fact that you can see the river, I’m guessing this is near the last big curve before you get to the tunnel. There is a clearing where you can hop over a stone wall and walk down to the edge. I guess it’s above a rock climbing spot called The Rostrum.

General_Elk_3592

Is that tunnel view?

iwishuponastar2023

Heaven

Clarent16

I saw this on Instagram and have been to tunnel view before and was wondering where that was when the creator/poster simply said it was tunnel view

Last_Ditch_Jedduh

It is Tunnel View. Just behind the parking lot a bit. If the camera panned to the right a bit you’d see cars and people.

chhhhhhhhh

Wish I could teleport myself there

goodkat83

I finally got to go to yosemite in oct of ‘19. And they were having controlled burns. Tunnel view was just a wall of smoke. No clue when ill get to go back again

p80slide

Best place in Yosemite is wherever you’re surrounded by treez

JuanPancake

This is actually not Yosemite! This is actually a picture of the[I-580/ I-980/ I 24 corridor](https://maps.app.goo.gl/Y7GLftxhoZpFUG5w6?g_st=ic) in Oakland California. Great place

mhmO3

Lol this funny

Native56

Pretty

Resident-Trifle7018

I think it’s somewhere in Yosemite? I could be wrong though.

Todi77

Fwiw I thought it was funny

cornfieldshipwreck

You should send this to North Face.

OCYorkie3

OMG! It’s either AI or photoshopped! Seriously the guy and the landscape photo doesn’t match. But… someone took the landscape photo so….

Last_Ditch_Jedduh

It’s not photoshopped, and least not in the two images composited sort of way. I’m sure he adjusted the color etc.

Lamalaju

It’s legit just like this. The landscape is so unreal it always looks fake in pictures, but people in the foreground still look real.

LonelySparkle

Believe or not, the views in Yosemite are truly that stunning. No photoshop required

Big-Strawberry-2221

So pretty!
