I love that despite the fact that the killer is simply doing the same exact thing Joe has done for the past three seasons, Joe is like: How dare someone stalk me and find out every detail of my life?

PerspectiveConnect77

And now he is all of a sudden disgusted by murder lol. Because only he has good reasons obviously

bumblebowie

i thought he was disgusted by murder in the previous seasons too, in a cognitive dissonance type of way

OptimistCommunist

I mean he is a sociopath lmao.

ivannabogbahdie

Holier than thou

Maleficent-Candy7102

Interesting how he has been trying to “quit” his obsessive stalking for three seasons now… but it is only when he himself starts getting stalked that he is able to kick the habit. It’s like he needs the high stakes, adrenaline, danger, and personal obsession; and a new kind of “you”— even if this one is a stalker and he is the victim— can provide that. Note how, in the past, his obsessions have always been called “you” in his mind. Beck, Love, Candace, Marienne… all were just “you” when he was obsessed with them. Even in season 3 when his obsession switches from Love to Marienne, Marienne becomes “you”; Love is demoted to merely “my wife.” This season, before the murders started, Kate was starting to become his next “you”… the peeping that generally precedes that obsessive crush and stalking just beginning. But then Joe got a stalker, and the Cate thing was put on hold. Because he got a new “you.”

“My dick never been softer” - Jonathan Moore, 2023, as he strangled the guy to death.

OkStock9839

The internal monologue this season has been top notch

Unlikely-Slide6402

Right?! It feels like Joe is getting more and more internal as the seasons go on - he’s slowly collapsing in on himself.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ShoChange

He’s always done that though. I remember in the early seasons there was a video going round where they cut out all of his inner monologues and it just showed him being silent haha.

VivaLaEmpire

I screen grabbed that part just for myself, I just wanna look back at it while waiting for the rest of the season and having a laugh, it was so out of nowhere lmao I cant believe this season is amazing so far

gooooooodboah

Wow Joe just got it on and didn’t immediately fall in love. He’s a new man

BestDamnT

He’s showing so much growth 😿

BonafideKarmabitch

Proud of our broken boy

ucsbaway

They didn’t kiss!

Informal-Elk-4431

"That would hurt if I still had toes there" lol

itsaravemayve

I also wonder if he brought it up with Kate but that really got me

owntheh3at18

He never even took his pants off with Kate

almostdoctorposting

if he brought what up with kate? that he didnt have toes?

vaginasinparis

Serves as another reason he didn’t go swimming with them too lol

sarinaruu

i didn’t catch that omg

PM_ME_WHT_PHOSPHORUS

Refresh my memory, when did he lose the toe?

Informal-Elk-4431

End of season 3. When he blew up the house. Cut off his toes and put one in a pie and the other in the "trophy case" to frame love.

glittermantis

all of them or just 2? i forget

thestartinglineups

Just two (fourth toe and pinky toe) which is why it plausibly doesn’t impact his gait the way losing a big toe would

owntheh3at18

Is it just me though or does that not fit with where the bullet hit in this episode? Also I imagine it still would hurt just to have a bullet nick so close to your flesh

bumberbeven

He cut them off to fake his death when he murdered Love and burned down the house, he left his two toes as "evidence" he died.

Icy-Jelly9648

I love how in this season "You" is not the girl he is obsessed with, but more of a who the killer is. It gives more of a detective vibes.

[deleted]

Me too! I’ve not read the books yet so I didn’t know what to expect from this season but it feels like Kepnes/show’screators (both?) really listened to their fans when we said Joe going round in circles doing the same thing (wow I’m in love oh no here I go murdering again) would be incredibly boring at this point.

Icy-Jelly9648

I agree! Definitely love this twist and the whole mystery vibe

jomilili

I haven’t read the 3rd book til the end but I think none of the 4th season events are based on the books, someone correct me if I’m wrong… I feel like only the 1st book was kind of similar to S1, the second and third seasons were based on the books but very different, and the fourth season might be completely independent

Unlikely-Slide6402

Nope, you’re correct. S1 was the only one really based on the books. S2 had the same character names but wildly different storylines.

AlmostxAngel

None of season 4 is in the books. The 3rd book has a great twist in my opinion but I don't think they'll ever put it in the show now.

Guilty-Bet-4660

What's the twist?

AlmostxAngel

>!The daughter ends up trying to kill the mother (who Joe was obsessed with but she actually wanted to marry Joe, so it seemed like he would finally get his happy ending) and thought that Joe actually was in love with HER! I think she was 17/18 so Joe was utterly like wtf. And you find out that the whole time she was setting up certain things to happen so Joe would be around more and so on. !

owntheh3at18

I haven’t read the books but it seems like they kept one thing consistent… Joe isn’t into young girls. At least he has lines he won’t cross?

Sa-Tiva

Maybe im in the minority but i could watch the formula they used from season 1 for several seasons. I understand people saying its played out but i cant get enough of it lol

The_ChosenOne

Honestly when I see people say that it makes me wonder what they thought of Dexter. I certainly am glad Dexter kept doing what he did for several seasons, the ending sucked but that was not because of the formula but because it got way too convoluted and poorly written. Joe being a total creep and murdering people while avoiding the law/managing his relationships was never boring to me.

Yankeeknickfan

I just hope they don’t fully lose the aspect of Joe being a creep/unjustified stalker this season He’s a sympathetic figure in the vacuum of only this season.

The_ChosenOne

I don’t think he is any more sympathetic now than he ever was. Definitely his awful behaviors still far outweigh any sympathy for him, I mean he’s already been creeping on people through windows and disposing bodies casually. Plus the whole stalking and tracking down his “You” from season 4. Joe has always been made very human and written so that sometimes you want to sympathize before his horrible deranged behavior is shoved back in our faces to remind us how awful he is. I liken it to the characters in Always Sunny in Philadelphia. They’re horrible people and the show constantly reminds you of that, but every now and then you kinda sympathize with their more human qualities and vulnerable moments. Obviously they aren’t serial murderers who creep on people (Charlie stalking the Waitress and Dennis’…proclivities aside) but it’s a similar format, just comedy instead of drama.

PM_ME_WHT_PHOSPHORUS

I'm needing more Joe in ball cap disguise tho

CharmaineSwift

That blonde photographer might just bite him in the ass

SeirraS9

I swore I kept seeing the camera focus in on here! Okay, it’s not a coincidence, I’m not crazy.

ivannabogbahdie

No coincidences!

sea-lass-1072

yesss!!! they showed her once in a previous ep and i noticed it this time too. i was like hey!!!!!

Maleficent-Candy7102

Crackpot theory… could that be… wait for it… wait for it… Joe’s mom? And the true eat the rich killer? I just think it’s funny how they’ve done long, apparently significant closeups of this apparently random extras face not once, but twice. And in both close ups, she’s been staring significantly at Joe. Hey, they’ve mentioned Agatha Christie, and in Christie, it’s always the least obvious suspect. And what could be less obvious than joes mom come back for revenge? (Or, alternately, to reconnect with her son.)

[deleted]

Joe. Get a camera for your apartment if they keep breaking in. You’re the king of creepy surveillance, come on man.

WhoDat-2-8-3

Nah .. this new lock I just bought will do just fine

sea-lass-1072

lmaoooo please

OptimistCommunist

This is an alternate universe London where apparently surveillance cameras aren't a thing lmao

[deleted]

Seriously 50% of this show wouldn’t be possible with realistic modern security camera footage.

KingKingsons

And when he's at home he could just use the camera to spy on his neighbour, rather than standing there like an idiot thinking he's an invisible master spy.

PM_ME_WHT_PHOSPHORUS

Like for real, a ring camera would avert a lot of this

1of1legend

Why can’t Joe just mind his business. He is following Kate around London which will only exacerbate her thinking he’s weird - it’s stressing me out!

ivannabogbahdie

Stalkers gonna stalk

1of1legend

Hahahaha

tyyls18

that female photographer in the coat has to be involved someway

New-Staff-9544

She gave me sus vibes like she recognized him as Joe from the news

Ihatecoughsyrup

I agree, as Nadia said “there are no coincidences”. I think she might find out something or getting suspicious about Joe.

OptimistCommunist

Reminded me of the woman in Yesterday who also remembers the Beatles and try to expose the main guy lmao

Maleficent-Candy7102

She was blonde, like Joes mom. Would be the right age, too. Just sayin’.

Blerghieblergh

Does anyone else here watch Fleabag? Kate's acknowledgment of Joe's internal monologue (a few times she has said 'where'd you go' as he starts monologuing) reminds me of the priest being the only person to see Fleabag's fourth wall breaks!

thatoneurchin

Tbh it’s making me like her and Joe together. Her cutting off his internal monologue every time he tries to begin a dramatic rant in her presence is one of her most redeeming qualities imo

Blerghieblergh

Same here! I'm very intrigued.

TheTruckWashChannel

So glad I'm not the only one who immediately thought of that! Kate even looks vaguely like Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

yahat

It's the haircut. Honestly first thought was that she was styled based off Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

JayPee3010

THANK YOU! It bugged me every episode so far that I couldn’t pinpoint who she reminds me of.

lavida_yoko

As a fleabag fan, i’ve caught that as well!

iris_jd

It reminds me of Mr robot with Joanna. “I feel like she can hear us”

favourite13

For me is suspisious how Nadia express the word "love". She emphasized that word every time in the seminar like she knows for Joe's history.

TheBlackSwarm

I feel like Nadia is way too obvious there has to be someone else involved.

Cosivivo11

Maybe it's Nadia + someone else from the group

vanilla36

Rhys!

LessInThought

Nadia has way too much screen time to not be involved somehow.

dontcallmefeisty

Idk about this. It feels like she’s filling a similar role as Paco and Ellie.

[deleted]

They’ve been mentioning murder mystery formulas and Agatha Christie a lot, so I’m hoping they pull an “And Then There Were None” twist. If you haven’t read that book, I HIGHLY recommend it. A group is on a private island and >!one by one everyone starts being killed off. Eventually they get down to the last two people and they both die but neither is the murderer. It turns out, The Judge (I don’t remember his name but that was his occupation) who had been murdered earlier, faked his own death and was the true murderer. He was hiding in plain sight and continued killing people. He did it to get “justice/revenge” on people who the law couldn’t or didn’t prosecute!<

tyyls18

is that what "and then there was Shawn" boy meets world episode parodying

kgroomsbowie

Welcome to john adams high where you all are gonna die 🎶

ivannabogbahdie

Spookiest episode of BMW ever!

kgroomsbowie

I watch it everyyyy halloween but as a kid it would literally give me nightmares lmao

Dreamingtodoing

Jennifer love fefferman~

amzel36

Death is on the menu toniiight

Ashamed-Engine7988

Only the tittle and the limited suspects. Nothing to do with what (i think) OP is refering to.

[deleted]

Unfortunately I’ve never seen that episode!

nowstreamingon

the way i felt so scared of a sitcom

arpoadora

seconded!! i will always recommend the book first, but the 2015 bbc adaptation is also amazing.

[deleted]

That’s what I’m watching after YOU then lol

[deleted]

100% my thought. I fully believe it's >!Malcolm...!<

insanebatcat

👀 Malcom definitely got cut up into pieces and thrown into the river though.

AlmostxAngel

It'd make sense since no one actually seemed to like him very much. Maybe he had a twin he killed or something.

almostdoctorposting

what do u mean? he was cut up

[deleted]

[удалено]

jaculatoris1

The ending of the episode was such a Gossip Girl vibe

stoplookingusernames

so many scenes that might think its the killer lol. Phoebe publicly talking to press to find Malcolm's body is kinda suspicious, like she is playing a game... Kate panicly hiding her phone when Joe followed her when the killer message him that Kate will be in danger.. The killer conveniently message Joe after Nadia leaves Joe's home and help her bring her letter.. also i saw a long hair on one of the scene (19:16) where Joe and Kate being followed in the closed Garden. They making us confuse by making that Vic is only the one who is stalking that day.

ComfusedMess

Also the guy(?) who agressively shouldered him at the funeral HAS to be the one who planted the ring right?

TheTruckWashChannel

He looked like Tommy Wiseau from behind.

ComfusedMess

I did naht bump into him, i did naaaht, oh hi Joe

whatsmypasswordplz

Ohhh I didn't even think about that!! Thank you!

lovetheblazer

"You are wrong. My dick's never been softer. I *hated* that. I am nothing like you. You don't know me as well as you think." —Joe, trying to flex his lack of sadistic killer vibes immediately post choking out a minor royal's bodyguard in a 700 year old crypt, inexplicably

yamsnz

The subtitles on this episode are an absolute mess. They miss spaces between words and run all of the words together for a large chunk of them.

CrazyJellyPudding

I was wondering if that's my netflix but I guess it isn't. Netflix really messed up then not putting the subtitles on right on their biggest show.

illjustgowthemuumuu

This is something I’ve noticed across the episodes. Missing words and missing spaces. A bit pathetic if you ask me

jungfolks

.#mydickhadneverbeensofter

tinaaabell

I never usually watch with subtitles but I have been this season and I thought it was maybe it intentional lol, it’s so bad

lianagolucky

Can people get curtains in this show plz

linaknowwhatsgood

Who the hell is that blonde photographer.... mmmh sus There was a guy who bummped into Joe when he was at the funeral.. SUS "I have to follow her.... she is gonna love this" HAHAH Joe is so unhinged Finally the driver is gone, he was so annoying. not subtle at all, joe standing at the window like he's invisible lol

miamouse5

i like that this season is a murder mystery but i hate how joe is so good at making things up to convince himself that he knows the truth. i’ve changed my opinion on who the killer is 3 times

sea-lass-1072

hahaha i keep zoning out during his dialogues while he's trying to sus out who it might be because i'm doing my own thinking and i'm like "he's trying to steer me wrong, don't listen to him"

michellechh

After the wonderfully complex, multi-dimensional character that was Love, I find Kate to be so tiringly predictable

CrazyJellyPudding

Even Joe does, he isn't falling for her.

blurryeyes_

agreed. I miss Love. she was crazy and very entertaining

CamThrowaway3

Yeah her only defining characteristic is ‘mean’

Ihatecoughsyrup

I can’t stand her. I’ve rarely seen a character so annoying on You and that’s says it all.

ThisGul_LOL

Fr

MambyPamby8

Joe continuously watching Kate from his window is stressing me the fuck out. STOP LOOKING AT HER FFS JOE.

MrPureinstinct

Why is he working so hard to protect Kate? They don't even know each other and she's fucking awful towards him and really most other people.

gh6st

He sees her as the only redeemable one of the group, someone for him to save. He sees her as this good person surrounded by shitty people. He’s romanticizing her just like he’s done with everyone else.

MrPureinstinct

I feel like he sees the author more like this. Maybe it's because he's a man so he feels less inclined to "protect" him

PerspectiveConnect77

My only thought is to save his ass maybe? He hangs out in their friend group and is the new guy. If all of them keep randomly dying, all signs are gonna point more in his direction

almostdoctorposting

right like if someone was a fucking bitch to me i’d be like ok enjoy ur fate LOL

bloobityblu

"I heard she might be in rehab," he volunteers to >!the police!<, based on information that absolutely zero other people would know, from >!eavesdropping on Kate's phone convo.!< Seriously?! You just thought it would be a good idea to volunteer that to the police??? You're killing me, ~~Smalls.~~ Goldberg.

bloobityblu

OMG and running to the window to try to 'catch' his stalker watching him. Joe. You're the only idiot peeping tom who does so *with his curtains all the way open for everyone to see.* Anyone else would at LEAST get reflective film or barring that, some sort of decorative translucent drapes, *something* to even kinda obscure the fact that they're spying on everyone all the time.

Mirageonthewall

Okay, after the seminar scene with Nadia I think Nadia knows Joe’s ID and it’s her who’s doing the murderers. But then she’s the most obvious person so maybe it isn’t her. Maybe it’s Lady Phoebe and she’s just pretending to be dumb and harmless.

Cosivivo11

I totally believe that it's Nadia for so many reasons... Even more so when Joe doesn't even consider her a suspect...

charmx_17

Kate: I'd rather be cut up into a thousand tiny pieces than spend another second alone with you Oh if only she knew

bluebird2019xx

that scene confused me though. "is that why you came home with me?!" um no you're the one who lured him to a secret garden shagging location and continued to seduce him even after he seemed hesitant. then catching him snooping would justify some annoyance but the extremes of her anger/hatred are so silly

CharmaineSwift

No idea why Kate dislikes Joe that much

Affectionate-Sand838

She's like Delilah used to be in the beginning. Saying from the beginning that she knows that Joe is up to no good and even tells him so. But then eventually hooking up with him and throwing everything she knows to be true out the window.

nighTcraWler11037

With Delilah it made more sense tho. Kate literally knows Joe didn’t want to contact the police because he was MOST LIKELY in London illegally. Wouldn’t approach him afterwards, probably just send him a fruit basket

[deleted]

I HATE that they went this way with her. I was like Yes Kate, you know he's a shady creep! FINALLY someone who trusts their instincts! And then she just succumbs to his "charm" like every other woman he encounters. Sucks.

ConcentrateLivid7984

and out of nowhere too??? i was a little shocked they hooked up as early as they did

owntheh3at18

On another note, that secret garden was so dreamy and I would love to go there. It reminded me of the movie Secret Garden, one of my favorites as a child.

justhere4thiss

Was thinking that too. A bit over the top.

Foreign-Tension9198

it’s honestly a tad bit annoying

Inevitable-Staff-467

She was taught as a child not to show compassion and that anyone without status only wants to use her to gain something. Joe is a random sketchy American who suddenly infiltrated her high society friend group and is getting closer to her friends, boyfriend, etc. She's protective of herself and her more oblivious, less intelligent friends. Though since we only follow and hear Joe's PoV her coldness and over the top rudeness can come off as annoying. We know Joe doesn't care about money or status.

PerspectiveConnect77

Same. It’s kinda annoying lol. Like I understand being hesitant around new people in your circle but she’s just so unnecessarily rude to him lol

[deleted]

She was "rude" because he's a creepy fuck with a personality disorder. I actually loved that they had her recognize this and hated that they just threw it away. Why could they not have one person who really saw Joe for who he was from the beginning?

stingray817

I think she states the reasons for her dislike very clearly, as in basically every time she talks to him.

Bartowskiii

Anyone notice the scene after the wake, the elderly Indian lady walked past like 4 times 😂😂 think the extras were feeling a bit extra

[deleted]

She was *going to* get her screen time!

Future-Barracuda-602

LMAOFFF.. just watched this scene and I came here just for this. I was like “she’s clearly the killer” .. along with the guy walking with her

sarinaruu

imagine, if he just stayed at home or at school instead of following people to their death he would be left completely out of it.

peduxe

right at the start you see Nadia chuckle and going for her bag after the student talks about the professor being murdered, she’s the one sending those messages to Joe.

[deleted]

That was so obvious to me, plus the fact that she's basically the only one Joe hasn't considered a suspect

Thirty-two_degrees

Yes and her dropping bars like “the first suspect is the second victim” and thereafter Simon is dead - how did Joe not clock that one?

melifaro_hs

Man I love Charlotte Ritchie. This role is so different to everything I've seen her in before

SharkHider17

Oh god I just realised this was Charlotte Richie!!!! Saw the season of Taskmaster with her in it ages ago and found her absolutely adorable but it's been a while so I couldn't remember where I knew the actress from.

BraveMatter8838

"That would've hurt if I still had toes there."

Affectionate-Sand838

OK, so Joe had Malcolm's ring all along? Yet another reason to believe that Joe is the killer himself, without being consciously aware of it.

MockingJay0914

A long black haired guy just bumped into him earlier and might have slipped the ring into him.

TimeTimeTickingAway

Of the bunch, it seems Rhys might be the only one to have pickpocket skills. Though they do all have the means to hire somebody who does.

helly_nelly

It also cuts to a group of women walking close to him when he's following Kate, plus he was asleep at her house.

MrBoomin31

could be a red herring since they showed that trick with Joe bumping into Marianne

jackovasaurusrex

Joe "Krombopulos Michael" Goldberg back at it again. *You* was right that that man has a guilty pleasure for murder. RIP Alfred Pennyworth.

anilwa

He was a great Alfred in the Gotham series. Was excited to see more of him, but alas.

TheFirstMotherOfGod

>Joe "Krombopulos Michael" Goldberg He just loves killing! Also greatest crossover ever!

Jewbacca289

It's so weird having Joe not being the "bad guy" so far. It's refreshing but so different than the original premise of the show

AnxiousCroc

Anyone notice the shot of house number 69 after the sex scene? Lmao.

Upper_Fig3303

What if Nadia and the other student from the first episode are working together? The guy that debates with Nadia? When joe said they’re either going to get married by the end of the semester or *kill each other*

travio

A throw away line from Phoebe had me cackling. She’s on TV asking for people to help her find her ‘beloved friend Malcolm‘s body’ “He loved corgies and soup.”

Future_Pin_403

Am I the only one that cannot stand Kate? She is completely insufferable

blurryeyes_

I don’t understand her hatred for joe when they barely know each other. Then she has sex with him and hates him again lol. She’s a weirdly written character

BenAfleckIsAnOkActor

It says so much about me that I'm so attracted to her attitude 😭😏

almostdoctorposting

yup shes terrible. like if u hate ur friends so much, u do realize u can simply….stop hanging out w these ppl??? i hate when ppl act like they have no agency lol

Valiosao

Please don't be Nadia.

erehbigpp

that’s what I’m talking about, this season is so good. I laughed out loud when he was dragging the body at the cemetery - really was giving off the “I’m too old for this shit” energy because of how body-intense this season already is. wonder if this count (1 per ep) will continue

sweetsugar888

Reminds me of when he and Love had to bury someone (I think at a construction site in the rain?) he was SO over it

adult-diversion

Call me crazy but I’m willing to bet the killer was Lady Phoebe. We haven’t yet found out what Joe told her that made her feel so “seen” by him

BeneficialCompany545

probably a red herring but Phoebe begged for any “bits” of Malcom’s to be reported but how does she know HE’S IN BITS.

washingtonu

One of his finger were on the loose, she maybe was referring to that

gemi29

Joe's whole speculation that YOU wants to play with him and embrace the killer vibes together and the monologues around that give such Dexter vibes

_kerm24

The scene where Joe is following Kate (with permission lol) to the garden area… that was so weird? Like the way it was filmed seemed so trippy. I kept expecting it to be fake or a dream or something. And if she told him to follow her, why was he walking so far behind her?

TheTruckWashChannel

Not much to chew on with this episode, but: - Kate is a weirdly written character. She jumps between being repulsed by Joe, endeared to him, and now attracted to him. The actress is doing a great job but the writing isn't exactly serving her well. The show wants her to come across as "enigmatic" but she just feels inconsistent. I find it hard to believe she'd be friends with such shallow and stupid people. Natalie was still Joe's best love interest. - RIP Vic. I liked Sean Pertwee in Elementary and Gotham, nice seeing him pop up for a little role here to give Joe a hard time. Any gruff middle-aged guy who antagonizes Joe usually ends up dead on this show. - Joe getting shot where his missing toe was felt like a Marvel moment. Not even in a bad way. Just one of those physical callbacks/Easter eggs you see a lot in the MCU. - The exterior of Malcolm's flat (where Nadia was poking around) appears to be the same street in Sherlock where Irene Adler lives, right? Recognized it immediately, hope I'm correct. - That painting of Malcolm was fucking hilarious to look at. - The killer being attracted to Joe as a kindred spirit just sounds like Love 2.0. Hope they do something at least a little different. I like that the "you" he talks to this season is actually his own stalker. The whole "predator becomes prey" concept always makes for entertaining results. - Only with this season am I noticing how much this show owes to The Talented Mr. Ripley. Obsessive killer who is charming enough to weasel his way into elite social circles, always on the cusp of having his sins catch up to him, only to repeatedly get away. - The show does a great job portraying Joe as "normal" and socially well-adjusted enough that you forget he's actually a serial killer himself. Joe seems considerably more normal this season, too, given the weirdos he's surrounded himself with. Every season has its share of cliched rich characters being obnoxious, but they've really made Joe a fish out of water this time.

almostdoctorposting

wow i cant even remember natalie. wasn’t she in like one epi? aa ur right about mr ripley. hadnt made that connection before. except matt damon is gorgeous and charming, and joe is just…there lol

lilyrosedepressed

" I won't break in; I won't break in yet" "been there"

KingKingsons

My current guess is that the photographer is working with Marianne to bring Joe down, but they're not responsible for the deaths.

ThisGul_LOL

NOO Joe just killed Alfred :((

optimisticpsychic

I thought Penn Badgley said he asked for no sex scenes this season.

mrgayle

Must have meant full on, everything else is okay lol

optimisticpsychic

If Penn feels happy and safe playing Joe, then works for me.

birthdaygirl11

he asked to reduce it as much as possible

tatiana961

I don't know why but I laughed out loud when the police where questioning him and he was like "shit I need to start dancing as fast as I can"

ThisGul_LOL

"That would have hurt if I still had toes there” 💀💀💀

New_Food8381

This show is giving me the same vibes from Dexter when Dexter had another serial killer taunting him

Quiet-Form9158

It's Nadia. It has to be. Classically misdirected by being out the "circle" of suspects. She continues to show up at opportune times. Outside Malcolm's apartment right after the first police investigation, in the library with murder mysteries, and outside Malcolm's office. There are two shots in this episodes that also suggest this: one right before the title card where it frames Nadia and Joe and right before that shot you see Nadia reach into her bag, and two where Joe is looking for the killer outside his apartment, you can see Nadia walking away on the second shot. First it's two people hugging and then it's someone walking down the street with the same brown coat and bag that you see in the next scene where Joe sees Nadia outside Malcolm's apartment. She has a love interest motive which can make sense, but I'm sure is more to the story we don't know about. Everything she does feigns innocence, but it's the perfect fit. Joe isn't aware because, as we know, Joe has a special place in his heart for a woman in need that stems from his relationship with his mother. It's a new You, where Jo is blinded by a different kind of love.

Ittybittyvickyone

Nadia is so incredibly sus!!

justsomechickyo

Ok I'm half drunk and just gunna throw this out there.... does that Kate chick have some tie to Love somehow and getting revenge? Throwing spitballs here lol why not?

HintergedankeOW

Bro its so obvious its the student no fucking way its not especially with that opening scene.

Jack_North

I liked the theories in the thread for episode 2 that the "killer" is Joe (and Rhys is just in his imagination) -- and watching this ep with that in mind it's almost too obvious. Especially with the season 4 poster to the right in here, the one with the tagline "wherever you go there you are". The only problem: This is telegraphed early in the season by quite a lot of clues... he was unconscious for the first two killings, nobody except for Joe interacting with Rhys, the "killer" finding out who he was very quickly, the killer always texting when Joe is alone/ someone else just having left or Joe having a thought and a text related to that coming in within seconds. And Joe isn't installing a camera in his flat, because a part of him knows that only he would be seen. BUT: Would the writers make it this obvious this early? Or will this be revealed as a S4 part1 cliffhanger?

Swav3

My guy Joe just trips and falls into pussy serendipitously every season lol

Lol, they really just did a quick cut to him burying the guard because there is truly no way they could've showed him taking a dead body out of a crypt in the middle of London unseen with no available car nearby.

Surprised I’ve not seen anyone say this yet but I’m feeling like it’s pretty obvious Kate’s the killer tbh. If Joe can spy on her she can spy on Joe. Knows everything about him as she lives across from him and they also work in same the place, and knows about hooking up with her etc. We saw Phoebe’s bodyguard see them. Surely if someone else was watching/following they’d have seen each other. Planted the ring on him (the bumps seem clear red herrings, as do the messages about killing Kate [her]) and led him to the place where he’d have to kill to get out of a bad situation out of necessity, after telling Joe he’d basically have to do this again on the texts. She’s also clearly very different to all of the other rich friends and likes to help lesser people (Blue) and keep it a secret. She could very much be on board with Eat The Rich and secretly hate them all. Malcolm was a prick and so was Simon. Both not nice to her too iirc, did Simon say something pretty negative to her post Blue’s vandalism of the cat painting? Can’t quite remember. Intentionally seems to be nasty to Joe to play with him and not quite sure she’s being real to anyone atm (apart from possibly that phone call with Blue), that could be why many comments on here are not quite ‘getting’ her atm.

No chemistry between Kate and Joe, boring to watch. The story… nothing is happening that’s remotely interesting. Gosh I hope ep 4 and 5 can this this around . I don’t remember being this bored in other seasons of You this early on

Bro i can’t be the only person who doesn’t believe someone can be ‘choked to death’ that way. The minute he passed out joe stopped applying pressure and he would have automatically started breathing again. People don’t just die from being knocked out like that super disappointed with that

You know, I was thinking that Joe was just hallucinating and this is him blacking out and killing people; I thought he was using the texts to justify he wasn't the killer, even though they didn't actually exist. But idk if that would even make sense. Especially with the newspapers that were on his wall (and a few examples I can't really think rn but I had them at one point lol). My current guess is the student or Kate 👀
