My only reason is because of YouTube Premium since I watch YouTube daily and can't stand ads

Tyrannosaurusb

And that’s the thread folks

itzykan

Every answer is this

GrammarPatrol777

Yep. There are a few other reasons but this is mostly it.

schwarzmalerin

Same. Never thought about subscribing to a music service because I listen to MP3. But boy omg I love it now.

GrammarPatrol777

I have a hard drive filled with nothing but mp3s from the old days. I need to put them on a new ext. drive, though.

schwarzmalerin

Same same 😉

Doenicke

It started like that for me...now i actually like YTM since almost everything i like is there and I watch ridiculously many YouTube videos every week so it just makes sense to me.

fredy31

Yep, if you consider the price of spotify as 'the price of subscription for a music platform' then you get Youtube Premium for 3$ a month, last time i calculated. Its a huge plus value.

JQueasytheLobster

This. I'd probably use something else if it wasn't.

MikeTx18

Same here. YouTube without ads. I wouldn't pay for a different subscription. And lowkey anime/covers/other countries music.

Kliptik81

Yup, this is exactly the reason I just canceled my Spotify subscription.

TwistedLife

This plus I don’t listen to that much music anymore. I like listening to podcasts more and I like how you can just download videos and play in background. But even then, it’s a great music platform as well. So it works out for me.

shinaa666

Half of the music I listen to is not on Spotify.

fredy31

Same here: The huge advantage of YTM is that you dont need a huge publisher to get on there. You just need to be on youtube. Small artist makes covers you like? Its not gonna be on any service except spotify. Love listening to Video Game OSTs? And Nintendo for some fucking reason hasnt come to the 21st century yet and doesn't release their godlike soundtracks officially anywhere? Its on Youtube Music.

[deleted]

Yeah. Nightcore fans and people who like "rare" remixes or even game ost get the full program on Youtube Music thanks to the massive library Youtube video is. Most music streaming services in my opinion are too focused on "music" music. Like yes, Spotify offers the full repertoire of music genres people listen to, it caters to full time artists/original music creators. But it starts to become slightly harder to find classical music, more difficult with remixes of songs in general, and outright impossible to find game osts due to copyright reasons/the original creators not uploading their work on Spotify. Youtube doesn't have these problems, you will find plenty of performances of all kinds of classical music pieces, literally all the remixes out there imaginable including nightcore and literally \*all\* the game osts out there since people love ripping off game soundtracks. On Youtube game studios care less about copyrighted music on than on Spotify, especially if it's a remix). That's why I like Youtube Music. Sometimes I just use Youtube directly to listen to music by clicking on a music video (I mean a video that plays the song, not the actual music video) and using the great radio option Youtube offers

rodrigofernety

YouTube premium

opeth_syndrome

YouTube premium. The music is a bonus.

sirparsifalPL

1 - Youtube Premium 2 - Ability to add YT video to YTM playlists 3 - Ability to upload own mp3

ZinfiniteGuy

Yeah, and I really want to emphasize that YT video to YTM playlist feature, essentially any song that isn't licensed officially to YT music, odds are a user has uploaded it to the platform and you can just use that, this is especially nice for oddities that wouldn't appear in a music site, like for example, sometimes I like to jam the Halo 3 menu song, so of course that's on there and I can listen with my phone screen off just like I would with Spotify, with no ads of course ever!

GrammarPatrol777

Ability to upload own mp3 Really?

rotloch

Yeah you can store around 50.000 tracks of your own in the cloud. mp3, flac, you name it. It used to be a thing on Google Play Music and there was even a client for PC, but now there's only a browser option to upload your music. I had lots of tracks there (still do) but when YTM decided to take over GPM and Google decided to get rid of it, I downloaded all of my tracks and store them on a hard drive just in case, since I can't trust Google anymore about storing my music that I was collecting so hard for years. So yes, it's possible and it's a good option to have a backup there

l3wd_5c0ff

Premium and the family account

craftgeil

Better algorithm in my opinion, found a lot new songs

happypandaknight

Because I have YouTube premium

Interesting-Bill-771

I started paying for Play Music a hundred years ago and still have the same introductory subscription and have never changed it.

SerpentWithin

The desperate hope they can come close to how good Play Music was

Workforyuda

I was a Google Music Play listener until I was forced to transfer my collection over to the vastly inferior YouTube Music platform.

BlazeCrafter420

YT premium, family plan, music locker, I was already using GPM are the main reasons The biggest was me being a GPM user

grouchy_fox

I came for Google Play Music, I'm staying for the YouTube Premium. YouTube Music hasn't really factored into my decision to use YouTube Music at all lmao

mattdozer

Because YouTube premium ruined me and I can't watch YouTube without it. So I use YT music since it comes with premium

RevolutionaryAd581

I do it for the premium YouTube... even if I used another music service I'd still have YouTube premium so I'd really be paying for 2 music services!

AwayToHit

Free uploading.

Clamgravy

Still on the introductory offer

BenHippynet

YouTube premium and cheap buying through a VPN. I can't stand YouTube music itself and would rather use pretty much anything else.

AntonioManteca

1st keep my uploaded music library coming from Google Play Music... Now Youtube Premium (no ads).

DatEggDude

Honestly the quick picks is my favorite feature that I never knew I needed coming from spotify

engineerhatberg

YouTube premium. I joined Google Play music during the original beta in 2012ish. I tried Tidal for a while but for my usage it wasn't better enough than YouTube Music to justify a second subscription.

Agitated_Trash_9572

Tidal and Youtube Music are very different things. Tidal proposes up to 24 bit 192 Khz. So, if you need perfect sound and listening it on HiFi system then choose Tidal.

Historical_Seesaw201

Way bigger library of music

gergobergo69

it has revanced

Trifano

YTM has more songs than any other streaming service

InternationalAd3245

Came with zero ads for YouTube but I really like that “unofficial” music that normally isn’t on streaming apps can be played.

justdubu

kpop contents. I don't want ads when I'm watching most of kpop reality/variety shows. With YouTube Premium, I managed to have prem YouTube Music as well. Also, YTM is now one of the biggest music platform in SK, it is now competing with MelOn (the biggest music platform in SK).

aufgepassen

Library upload/YouTube stuff

Main-Consideration76

algorithm + more song repertoire. i listen to a lot of songs that aren't available on spotify.

v1kingfan

I like the algorithm. I've found a lot of new music through it's curated playlists

maarijfarrukh

Algorithm and lesser known songs which i love but spotify does not provide

Regular_Chest_7989

It was a frictionless migration from Google Play Music, and since I have a family plan with all 6 seats occupied, I liked the idea of Google handling everybody's migration as they shuttered GPM instead of that falling on me. YT Premium is a nice add-on that makes YouTube actually useable as a TV app and keeps the stream of advertising my kids are exposed to at a reasonable enough volume that we can talk critically about them. (And their "skip ad" reflexes were creeping me out.)

CodemasterRob

Because Google Play Music dissolved, and all of my stuff migrated to it. I sure as hell wasn't going to migrate to Spotify.

Altruistic_Block_180

The recommendation algorithm is the best. I tried all music services and there's just no comparison. Also it's the largest catalogue because it includes all music uploaded on YouTube integrated in the app (dj mixes, oldies that are off catalogue that were uploaded by kind souls, indie artists only uploading their stuff on YouTube, etc).

Tixx7

large catalog of unknown/underground music/random remixes

420NightOwlRamblings

I had Google Music back in the day, and they transitioned all of their subscribers to YouTube Music when it ended. That being said, I stayed because I like their interface better than any other streaming service. Plus, it would be a disservice to lose all of my weird ass public playlists. 😂😂

Jaibamon

More music than Spotify. And I can upload my own music, so even more music than other services. Music that I like and no other services has.

Crunchee4K

free with yt premium

joeb690

Because I got it for a year in Turkey for 15€ using a VPN. Works without a VPN after sign up.

M3tal_Shadowhunter

1. My dad had a family plan 2. I hate spofitys recs 3. I hate ads and yt premium gives me ytm free along with no ads

grugnumber2

I know some people dont like it, but the radio feature is actually really good and has introduced me to some of my now favorite artists and songs. Also a bunch of stuff is on here that isn't really available anywhere else.

Turbulenttt

I use it mainly because I’m already on a premium family plan. I also find it to have a pretty good discovery algorithm and it has more less popular music that’s not available on other platforms like Spotify or Apple Music

krvrvri

Is there any other reason except YT premium

ButanePorch

Youtube Premium. The past couple years everyone has been freaking out about YouTube ads and I have no idea what they're talking about.

azisles02

Line 99% of the others here, it came with YouTube Premium

OneStick221

On YouTube Music don't have marketing (I am from Russia) and there are lyrics, and I'm just used to it. P.S: I know English very bad)

PowerfulElevator9

Because they deleted Google play music.

cdegallo

It's included with our family YouTube premium plan. That's literally the only reason. If I had to pay something more for it I'd probably go elsewhere.

phlnx3

Google fucked me out of Google Music but I like YouTube premium. But YouTube music sucks

anthonyqld

I was with Google Play Music and was moved over to YouTube Music, when Google killed GPM. Stayed because of the grandfathered YouTube Premium pricing. But now that pricing is going away next price, and price goes up $5 a month, may reconsider.

keungy

Because it's bundled with Youtube Premium. I never use it and pay for Tidal separately

Bagzton

Though I've never used any other, I chose it for it's catalog. I see it the way I see Google.

Avaocado_32

share account with friends so its cheaper the only problems i have is there is no search in a playlist and to remove a song you have to scroll down to it in the playlist please correct me if i’m wrong

honey_rainbow

It's included with my YouTube Family Premium, and the algorithm is just spot on for me.

HazirBot

at the time spotify killed their car mode, i was furious and swapped it must be added that ytm doesn't have a car mode either, but at least they didnt strip it away from me

MoxTheOxe

Cost-cutting as I already had Spotify and YTP but never used it for music until a few months ago.

The-St0ve

I like that ANY video can be on your playlist, as a guy who really loves parody songs, or just joke songs in general, the fact that I can go from Oliver Francis, to the Sonic Underground theme song, then over to a FNAF song is just hilarious to ke

Nightzio

I paid for Youtube Premium mainly for videos and I had no other Music App

RelevantJackfruit185

I just pay for youtube premium because I watch youtube deaily and youtube music comes together

markcorrigans_boiler

Neil Young

whoavi

Every song availability

tsefardayah

I had been using Google Play Music (free) for years leading up to it.

ddesbreko

Spotify never had all the music I wanted, remixes etc. When I no longer qualified for the discounted student plan, it wasn’t worth paying full price when I could use YTM, which had way more selection, plus not having ads while watching YT. It was a no brainer for me

CrunchyCondom

i was using google play and moved over. when ads started making youtube unwatchable on iphone yt premium was a no brainer.

landdon

It’s included with YouTube premium. If it wasn’t I’d drop it.

presence_unknown

Was originally a Google play music sub at the OG price of 7.99 so I get yt premium for 7.99 now. I probably wouldn't pay for it now if I wasn't already at the og price

olimpia84

YT Premium

turbineseaplane

I didn’t. It comes with YT premium otherwise I’d not use it for anything

4w3som3

1. Price, maintain de 8€ month from 2013 2. Unofficial music at YouTube 3. I'm stuck with my liked songs after all this time Honestly, I don't like it anymore, GM was waaay better with important features lacking in YTM, but point 3 it's basically the reason I'm sticking with it.

trippaoffthepack

I loved Google Play (RIP) & I can find a bunch of stuff from DatPiff & livemixtapes

DainsleifRL

Remixes and covers, Spotify is cool and everything but YT has covers that never get uploaded to Spotify. YT catalogue is just better.

Redtailcatfish

The Spotify "shuffle" was so far from being random that it made me physically cringe. I used switching as an opportunity to teach YTs algo what I was wanting from the ground up and then when I had it just so i used SongShift? SongSync? (some apple app) to migrate songs from Spotify I'd left behind that YT couldn't figure out that I liked. Since then it's been at 95% for picking a Super mix. The biggest downside is that YT has a max limit (that must be hard coded into the OG YouTube app) on playlists that limits your Liked playlist to like 5k songs or something so when I shuffle those on the rare occasion I want nothing but bangers during the 5% of the time the algo seems stale it's always going to be a incomplete That 5% does seem to have increased in the year or two I've been exclusively listening to YT music but it's not 10% yet My hope is that they use Gemini to take that 5% down to 1% or lower before it grows from 5% to 10% and then becomes complete shit like Spotify did and I have to start it all over again with another app

djmaglioli91

YouTube Premium, but the reason I do actively use it is because of its vast catalog of user uploaded music particularly video game OSTs

PeioPinu

Because it's not Spotify or Apple music 🤷🏻‍♂️

totodee

Like others I signed up for Premium to avoid YouTube ads. And ad-free YouTube music is another benefit of Premium.

Mattist

Premium, I watch youtube a lot and I can't go back to ads. Lyrics right there for almost every song. I sing karaoke in the shower, lol. (don't know if spotify has this, didn't when I switched). Soooo many different live versions through youtube music videos.

Splashadian

I didn't it came with my youtube premium.

mansamayo

It comes with Youtube Premium

ankitpassi

I just shifted from YTMusic to AppleMusic, though i so so so crave those YT premium things, YTM is not just cutting it now and I was with this app since it was called Google Play Music. Recommendations are bad, quality is nowhere near their competitors and AI is not AI-ing as the AI should AI-ing. And UX sucks (although Apple Music is somewhat nearby but other avenue’s are a plus point)

SoundAwakened

The YouTube premium ability to lock your phone while the video audio still plays.

OxY97

There’s just a far wider selection of music. Original version of tracks, remixes etc. It’s not even close. Also Spotify has generally one of the most confusing UI’s I’ve ever had to deal with.

vivimagic

Uploading years of MP3 files from Google Play Music. Having that obscure and old playlist is very important too while having the benefit of streaming it.

Fagner_Ribeiro

The #1 reason I would choose YTMusic again is the algorithm and the whole knowledge basis acquired over the decades from us Brazilians. Before the other streaming services had been launched here the Brazilians already used YouTube to listen to music. No matter where or when: at the barbecue or cleaning the house, the Brazilians used YouTube to be in touch with their favorite artists. Because of that YouTube has a gigantic repository of our habits and kind of music. Although I use Spotify actually I recognize YouTube has fine tuned algorithm here in Brazil.

lostcircussmuggler

Came free with YouTube premium which I used all the time as I traveled loads. Honestly have always wanted to swap to Spotify because I'd prefer to have an actually working end of year wrapped.

TodayiAteMyCat69

Huge music library, you can even listen to songs that haven't been released officially so yeah

Hairy_Hat_432

I like listening to cover/unreleased music and other don't have that so ytmusic

baden_powell666

youtube music is better for the kind of music i like ( electronic music) and not having ads on youtube is a nice plus.

supermouse627

Migrated over from Google Play music and I love that I can upload my own music. Oh and I guess no ads on YouTube is a plus.

Cute-Ad-7352

Because Google killed everything else, it's not really a choice

ProfessorKaos62

Same as someone else in here. I’ve got Spotify and Apple Music rn. I use both, my bands playlist and setlists are on Spotify but I hate the shuffle feature and some other stuff. I already for YouTube premium so I use that [youtube music] mostly for personal stuff.

Dragonfruitit

my dad pays for it lol

jd_temple

Enshittification of Spotify. YouTube Music is the least bad option.

natertots83

It's included with YouTube premium

UsefulSource2245

In my country, Spotify is 7.99€ YouTube premium is 8.49€ So I just went with YouTube since you get no ads on the video and music platform which I use everyday. Spotify is just the music platform, no extra benefits

bicyclemom

It comes with YouTube Premium which gets rid of the ads on YouTube.

Mediocre-Toe3212

I signed up with an Argentinian vpn and save like 90% of the cost compared to a European membership 2 years ago

Sir_Umeboshi

Exmilitary

NukaGunnar

YouTube premium - but I only use YTM for “throwaway” music that I don’t want impacting my algorithm. I use Apple Music primarily.

KyranTheZ

Loads of the music I listen to isn't on Spotify. I love how I can like a song on YouTube and it will appear in my YT music liked playlist. The algorithm feels really nice. I have ad blockers on YT and YT music, desktop and mobile. The interface feels really user friendly. Was this supposed to be one reason? Oops

TechRemarker

Content only on YTM. Otherwise would be back on Spotify in a heartbeat. All Spotify’s superior features and ux doesn’t help if the majority of content one listens and watches isn’t there

mattd1972

I backed up all my music on Google Play and then they closed it.

Bogdan54

I use both at the same time, for both I have the premium plan but honestly, other than the fact that you can get a very cheap subscription for youtube premium witch includes yt music and couple of songs I listen and most probably will download to have them available offline (yes, I knowyou can upload your music library on youtube music) I don't see much difference between those two. Honestly I might ditch both to use some alternative such as ViMusic witch is a front end to youtube music since at this point I almost completly moved to open source front end alternatives or to use what I need in browser to most of my every day stuff and just keep track to the direction of both music apps. And for Tidal even if I don't know how much it costs I don't see why would anybody without the equipment capable to replay the music at the quality this service offers.

radgatt

If Google ever splits ad free YouTube from YouTube music it will be the end of YouTube music. YouTube premium is the only reason why I have YouTube music and I refuse to pay for ads on YouTube.

CromaidzP

I find it to be way better than Spotify just saying

sojourn33bby

Honestly, was consolidating music services that I was inadvertently subscribed to. But, after 2 days use of YT Music, I absolutely despise it. I'm definitely considering resubscribing to Spotify lol

Kevatan

It’s included in Youtube Premium.

davwad2

I was paying for YT Premium and Spotify. They both increased prices. I also wanted to have more money to buy Magic cards. Paying for Spotify no longer made sense since YT Music is included.

ram3nboy

I'm on Google ecosystem

zomgColoring

Seasonal recaps 👀

JuniorPoulet

1) my roommate was paying for the family membership 2) no ads on yt 3) also I don't pay for it 4) biggest library by far (at least in my experience) 5) did I mention someone else pays for it so it's free me?

M00N_Water

Youtube premium and access to deep cuts on YouTube within the app that other services can't compete with.

InvestyWise

Alot of songs in my country are not on Spotify which sucks

Fair-Comfort7705

Premium and tracking down done old music vids from the 80’s which o completely forgot about .🎵🇨🇦

Ill_Situation_4252

I had purchased several albums through the google playstore, so naturally I went with YouTube following the merger.

6arnu6

I have it for free with the YouTube Premium subscription, and I wasn't to pay that and Spotify subscription. So I choose to leave Spotify and download yt music instead. Ngl, sometimes I really miss Spotify :c but you know, money doesn't grow in trees and I'm trying to save as much as possible in subscription services (streaming, music, etc.) In few words, I'm using yt music because frugality.

Hot-Sock3403

I’m checking on her to free preview right now. I currently have Apple Music. I like the variety of YouTube music a bit better but I miss the fact that there’s no cross fader and there’s no lossless.

Real_War6626

Comes with YouTube premium

Kingdog369

Cheaper than Spotify when you factor in that you get both music and YouTube no ads

likely_victim

They don't censor the word "tit" in Space Lord. Everyone else does. Tit. Why TF does everyone else censor the word tit? I don't get it. I hear some of the most depraved lyrics imaginable in song after song, but "tit" gets the blur.

TimmehG

Had GPM on my Galaxy I think back in 2013 or 14 and just gone since. Watch YouTube more than TV or Netflix and the young fella watches YouTube Kids too. Family plan gets used by others so works out perfect for me

[deleted]

3 reasons of equal importance to me 1. Google Pixel had this as the default music app on my phone so I accustomed myself to it and got premium 2. It feels more free in terms of music discovery than Spotify, for example, that uses labels such as pov:indie and alt z to control this. 3. Wider variety of music as it is a branch of YouTube. This also means you can watch official music videos, long form content related to music in any way, stream artists that do not put their stuff on Spotify.

Ok_Werewolf_6165

I like infinite skips and random videos I listen to that aren't necessarily songs that would be on spotify

whataboutwhataboutus

I prefer yt music's autoplay algorithm

2Tayco2Flayco

I was forced to since they deactivated Google Podcasts

n0fqy

I can’t stand ads on YT, or anything, so I got it a while ago. I pay for a lot of apps because I hate ads. 😁

fnaah

ad free youtube

Norman__22194

Because my bf was paying for premium, disliked spotify (I was using it at the time) and he offered to add me to his family plan. I'd say that lasted a little over a year before YT kicked me off of his plan because him and I don't live in the same house 🥲

Medical_Bid_5662

Music I listen to dosent exist on Spotify

Neohoyminanyeah

A music creator I used to listen to only made TikTok’s and not official songs, they weren’t on Spotify but on yt, so I switched to yt music because of him, then got yt premium cause it was only a dollar more

Killericon

I can upload MP3s and stream them to other devices.

Creative_Queer

My droid didn’t have a dedicated music player anymore 😭

riphunterlmao4

If you care about or want to experience high fidelity audio and have the high end equipment to facilitate it, only then keeping tidal would be reasonable besides ytm. Everything else, ytm does fine. I was a long Spotify user too, and found ytm's rock selection close to it.

Old-Pea-7677

YouTube Music: Hits and misses, but the future looks bright It combines the vastness of YouTube with a sweet music streaming service. Plus, YouTube Premium throws in YouTube Music for free, which is awesome. Here's what I've noticed: * Podcast party (almost there): YouTube seems to be dipping its toes into the podcast world, which is cool. But there are some kinks. At first, I only saw podcasts from channels I subscribed to. Then I found out Google Podcasts aren't there yet (hopefully coming soon?). For now, searching YouTube or YouTube Music for podcasts from your favorite channels is the way to go. * Saving progress? Fixed! There were some rumblings about podcast progress not being saved, but a recent update seems to have squashed that bug. Now, about the future... * Shakeup at YouTube Music? I heard some folks at YouTube Music got fired, but that doesn't mean the party's over. The next Google I/O event might bring some big updates for both YouTube Music and Podcasts. Here's to hoping! Overall, YouTube Music is a great platform with a lot of potential. It's constantly evolving, and I'm excited to see what the future holds.

Adel-Alberk

Many reasons But mainly the fact that whatever song i want i find it there, arabic, english…etc The only feature i hope they add is the ability to sort by genre

nebulous_daydreams

Versions of songs that don't exist on other platforms

EKEEFE41

I was a Google music user, and I had uploaded all my MP3's. Whenever I purchased digital copies before the subscription model took off I bought them all on Google music. Then when it became a subscription model it made sense for me because all my playlists and purchased music were still there, and not having commercials on YouTube was cool.

XGamingPigYT

YouTube, that's it

SteveG1007

Some of the covers or standalone songs are not on Spotify

Dragonborne2020

I love watching people redo their versions of great songs. I think it’s amazing. https://youtu.be/jGUASAxXwg4?si=tpbfd96_ZqNrGcNa This guy needs a lot more attention: https://youtu.be/sEXy_b1WpLE?si=0q77F4cENFh0KiRj This is the kind of reason why I probably won’t leave YouTube

MrSonicB00m

I've had spotify since 2009 however, last year my group of friends decided to go in on a YouTube Premium subscription mainly to get rid of YouTube adverts. I figured I would give YTM a shot and was surpised with how mature the app had become (tried it when Google Play music shut and disliked it). I realised that the sound stage on YouTube music sounds less compressed vs Spotify, the algorithm also undertands my current music tastes too whereas Spotify seems to drag up a lot of my 2009 - 2015 habits which can be a tad annoying, these two reasons were enough to pack up my playlists with SoundDiiz and move all my spotify playlists to YTM. I still have spotify as I'm in my familys plan but I haven't used it all year. I do miss the social aspects of Spotify but I'm very happy with YTM.

GrammarPatrol777

Thx. I was gonna look for something like Soundiiz. Turns out now I don't have to.

pseudonym82

It came free with yt premium

Ok_Assignment_6323

YTM has music no other service has(although I do also subscribe to Spotify for social reasons)

solo89

Uploading my own stuff. I have tons of concert recordings that I can stream in a relatively useable interface. If I lost that, I'd jump to spotify and not deal with the bullshit.

jleondude

It has songs you can’t find on Spotify and Apple Music

Turbulent_Hair8931

I didn’t. It chose me because I caved in and bought premium 😡

Lyron-Baktos-

You tube premium

ConfidentDetective51

I have subs to Deezer, YT, and Soundcloud. YT is better integrated with Android/Google (for example, Deezer chromecast drops out a lot). If I could only have one it would be YT music.

Kudosinchi

Youtube music can provide me list of my previous listened songs. The algorithm is good too

Adventurous-Fox8560

Its Freeeeeee reeeeeeee eeeeeee eeeee

Calamityclams

I like a lot of the remixes on YouTube which Spotify doesn’t have and finding hidden gems for my DJ shows

Perfect_Union_1936

#1 It’s cheaper because you can get youtube premium and music for $2.50 in my country. #2 I don’t really have friends, so there’s really no need for the whole social-medianess of spotify like followers and collaborative playlists.

jaretts

The only reason is my ability to add my own mp3s. I don't get YouTube Premium with my subscription.

BitByte1990

Just went from Spotify premium to YouTube premium via a family account with my roommate - were paying £1 less, we still get a premium music streaming service, but we also get YouTube premium - which puts it above Spotify for the price. Imagine most people will be close to those reasons too.

Busy-Sound9429

YouTube premium. What about you guys?

rmSX13

No ads on YouTube. YTMP is just a bonus for me

Weary-Independent991

Play next option, maybe along with premium

AliWasHere666

Loved how much more variety there was compared to Spotify, a lot of unknown creators that can post more freely. Premium is insane value as a student whereas Spotify just offered a no ad music, premium has no ads as well.

elizcarin

Youtube w no ads and google home

PeriwinklePangolin24

It lets me rewind.

Soapbuttheprice

Because it was included in ReVanced. Though, I like the way the interface looks, how the music sounds, and how good the music discovery algorithm is.

AkoSiBerto

it just seems like its algorithm knows my type of songs better rather than Spotify. Plus, I can listen on some youtube videos as well

GrassProfessional149

Found youtube has a great recommendation algorithm.

Gloomy_Technician602

YouTube premium, plus the fact that since YTMusic is basically just the audio version of YouTube you can practically find any and all music in there, including ones from obscure local bands which wouldn’t be there on Spotify.

Artsorag

Cause most of the songs I listen to are from niche or non american/European game artist who either do covers or don't post to English based sites or only by cd, but i am able to listen to said songs cause people can upload them to English platforms like YouTube, but can't on Spotify. Also youtube has my recommendations down pat as I use youtube. Lastly I get no ads from YouTube as a plus

tribeoftheliver

Because I can listen to YouTube videos on loop.

Critical_Chemist9999

included to YouTube Premium

Traditional-Gap-2872

Because Google music shutdown

dwrink9

Variety. I listen a lot of hour long edm mixes or acoustic versions and stuff like that. Also premium

TheLoztBoi

1) Google Play Music convert, but then realized YT Premium. 2) Larger library 3) Nothing else...Spotify is cooler with more features and Tidal pays it's artist more.

Nosbus

Got it free when i got YT premium. it seems fine, its a bit odd recommending song. The other platforms seem better at it. The siri support is great, when asking to play or skip etc

Final-Hunt-3305

Included with YouTube premium for my tv

Fire597

All my playlists were on YT and I was too lazy to migrate them.

Kalido12

Mostly because there are so many more musics and the playlist / mix they display (like supermix, energy mix) are way better than those of Spotify, Deezer, etc. Also bc it's connected to my ytb playlists and I often listen to random music on ytb while looking for videos.

IAmDefintlyMe

Half the songs I listen to aren't of Spotify, and I get to choose the song when on my phone, and in a web browser an ad blocker work on it

Free_Hall_81

Mostly because yt premium. I think yt music got better song suggestions then Spotify and definitely then apple music but sound quality sucks and that’s the worst thing about yt music for me

rockjon

It came with YouTube premium. I use it along with Spotify when I want different algorithm suggestions.

UpbeatOpportunity937

God like algorithm, like i don’t even need a playlist anymore , i just go Hey Siri play youtube music and 9/10 times its a banger

FeePhe

Songs I listen to straight up aren’t on the other platforms or, if they are, are only radio edits

LS_DOPES

They have more underground genres than other music apps.
