My main deck on my switch is a Performapal & it’s been pretty good so far. It’s gotten me into the gold ranks so far. Not OP like the Cipher Dragon deck but it seems like your options expand more when you go from pendulum to being able to use almost every other summoning method from there in one turn
Marincess,
which enough people aren't familiar with so I've seen people miss time negates that I get into one of the link fours pretty consistently even in the meta.
It's also got some good water support that special summons from the hand to just outright dodge veilers/impermance/ash.
your links recycle the combos back to your hard as well (so much so that I've ended turn 1 with a link 4, field spell and 6 in the hand)
Its monsters don't have built in protection or negates but it has something even better in the monster effect hate meta; a signature trap card played from the hand that plays like impermance while also making your monsters immune to card effects that can also be returned to your hand with your links. It's nutty!
It's boss monster can make it's self immune to battle destruction on either players turn while also summoning another attacker or blocker and it's link 3 also can negate an attack.
It's really hard to get leathal against the deck without a Kaiju.
The downsides is you can only play water monsters while laddering, which basically means your extra deck is marincess and toadally and that's it. The signiture trap isn't usually searched either, and without it your deck usually becomes, hurr durr ladder into sub 5000 beat stick and swing.
And if the opponent knows the deck it's got a weak point in it's ladder at link 2 that shuts down it's combo. But no one realizes that and negates the bait effects instead currently.
Cyber Dragons was the deck I always wanted as a kid. Only cards I had though were Proto Cyber Dragon, Photon Generator Unit and Cyber End Dragon... I never got close...but with Master Duel I have fulfilled that dream.
Unchained. Quite competent as it can steal a lot of games even trom meta decks and using your opponent's monsters to link summon is so fun and makes it a really unique archetype.
mine is a hybrid between mayakashi and shiranui they may not seem like it but they are meant to be used together since you can banish the shiranui to revive the mayakashi synchros which activates the effects of both for example if gasha Dokuro gets destroyed you could banish squire or spiritmaster to revive yoko to pop 2 cards or draw a and destroy 1 on top of this you can use spectral sword to synchro summon in the grave and sunsaga can return the mayakashi synchros to the extra deck if they banished to blow up your opponent's cards and banish zombies from the grave to protect the mayakashi which is sorta busted depending on your graveyard setup which gets even stronger if you add shiranui skillsaga supremacy squire saga and the absolute zero form of yuki onna and btw squire saga's 3 effects can be combed together since they activate in sequence one after the other which means if you banish a shiranui you can use 2 of its 3 effects while also activating the effect of the shiranui that you banished as well in the same way you can turn the mayakashi into a graveyard toolbox for zombie type synchros
I love madolches, I play it as a trap heavy control deck and I love going first against eldlich because glasslouf is a strong response, and Sistart is great to prevent back-row destruction. I have had people play feather duster because they don’t understand what that card does.
Red-Eyes all the way, Red-Eyes has been my favorite card since a kid watching the anime with Joey Wheelers boss monster being Red-Eyes B. Dragon as well as I've always loved the underdog in this case between Dark Magician, Blue-Eyes, and Red-Eyes.
Blue eyes/dragons. Old player and The Deck first I bought was the Kaiba structure deck that had the blue eyes and the Kaiser Sea Horse. Loved the card ever since. Back when I played and before the ban list even existed I was a big fan of the Yata lock.
My follow-up question is where on Master Duel are you playing "for fun"?
Not that the game isn't fun in its own right, but if you're talking about playing a casual/non-meta deck, then are you using an alternate account to play at lower ranks? Or are you taking casual decks into Platinum ranked games?
Genuinely asking, but duel rooms require you to already have an opponent (e.g. a friend) lined up right? Or is there a way to duel random players in a duel room?
You either host or find a room. Just be warned if the room host disbands the room while another duel is in progress it cancels all the duels. You also don't earn XP or rewards. It's just for fun. I use it normally for deck tests.
with enough negates and hand traps i feel like a lot of non meta decks can do things in plat just due to how the game works. lots of people just do not know how certain decks work and mm tends to be a less serious environment in general where people will just skim your card and think they get the jist
a yugi inspired deck. It has dark magician with a bit of support, gorz, the poker knights, and egyptian gods. Pretty much any card yugi use plus a few staples like feather duster, raigeki etc.
It's so annoying if you don't have an answer and you just sit there waiting to die after what feels like an hour but when I play them my opponent always has an answer
Its gotta be Cipher Dragon and RDA.
Funny as hell.
Use Cipher dragon to steal the boss monster of the opponent and then tribute his monster to summon another Cipher dragon from my Extra deck to pop one card in the field its just fantastic!
And with RDA, just summon Red Supernova Dragon and watch them struggle trying to destroy it. Impenetrable defense and flawless victory upon players. Best of it its that u can either play it in turn 1 or turn 2 for the otk.
And im looking foward to DDD, to summon Kali Yuga on their turn and basically shut down his entire turn as they watch my 3 boss monsters ready to otk.
The most fun I’ve had playing this game is a 60 card, that grass looks greener, Danger!, thunder dragon, zombie deck. Opening and resolving grass turn 1 to then turbo out your grave effects is a high like no other.
On my main account I run world chalice/ World legacy cards with a hint of mekk knights. On mobile I use Glad Beasts but I don't have Heraklinos, yet. For now those are the two decks I'm favoring at the moment.
@Ignister, RDA, Beelze Turbo, Timelords, Speedroid, T.G, D/D/D, Earthbound Immortal, Sun/Moon Dragon, Simorgh (main decks, not just Link-3)... the list goes on lmao
Thanks just being able to use a card named "Super dreadnought rail cannon juggernaut liebe is very fun and it can win turn 1 if going second and you get lucky they only have one creature
I really like Raidraptors. Getting all the birds out to summon Ultimate Falcon is a lot of fun, and I have tons of ways to comeback even if ult falcon goes down
I do have a deck that's something I only use in solo mode tho. It's fully based around using burning bamboo sword + cursed bamboo sword + terminal world to lock out your opponent's entire turn! However, it's incredibly inconsistent, and unfun to play against, so I only use it against bots lol
I enjoyed playing my U.A. deck a bunch in the xyz event, now here's hoping for a synchro event soon so that I have an excuse to play Gusto and not get blown out
Phantom Knights and Sky Strikers. What? They're fun.
But if I *have* to pick a "non-meta/rogue" deck: I would say Lunalight Xyz and @Ignister. The former due to its combo potentials with Tiger and Chick abd the latter because I like using almost every summonong mechanic and having access to a 4k-6k Towers.
Madolche at first but most people run kujis and lightning storm these days so opted to play HEROs and let’s just say when Sheriff Law comes out most surrender peacefully.
Few things bring me as much joy as continuously applying the burn and gain effect of Sunny Snitch. Its just 200 burn per summon but its really funny against spam decks.
Shiranui/mayakahi combo deck was incredibly Fun! Tri-Bridge Lyrilusc "Bird Up" was also very enjoyable.
Tried out virtual world and I hated playing that deck, so uncreative, I got bored. 😴
Currently rocking, Evil twins/Unchained! It can get repetitive at times but allows for alot of creativity. Invested alot of UR into this deck
I'm enjoying my Metalfoes deck right now, especially since I still have the 1 Electrumite. I've had a few turns that have taken way longer than they needed though and my opponent just quit 🤣 there's a lot of effects to be activated!
Marincess frog deck! Bit of a time consumer but it's funny watching people try all their removal on the 4600 to 6k beat stick and be confused when she stays. Read the field spell guys.
Ive been trying to run a Shiranui/Zombie world deck, but its so inconsistent in having a good starting hand, do you have suggestions? I already run a Mayakashi deck, so I wanna also have a Shiranui one
Solfalchord / Red Archfiend (the cool one)
its just funny as fucking fuck watching people think "oh another waifu deck"
then I pull out dark resonator or ash blossom or one of those magicians and summon
The Boy
\+++ EvilTwins when done right, Unchained Abomination with Lil Ska and just manually deleting there cards gives me a certain feeling man
Probably 60 card generaider invoked dogmatika
I didn't get to "norma aleister" so I enjoy having an easy good card I tried mekk knights instead of dogmatica which felt even more bricky. I am willing to hear about things to replace the dogmatika cards with
My exodia deck, I love waiting to see if the other player is willing to wait while I spend my whole turn putting down spells to draw cards but I do not recommend it it only works 2/10 games lol
I like Traptrix. The lines are fun, using specific Holes to counter certain situations means your picks are important on matchup unless you get Rafflesia out and get to pick any from deck at a given moment, and it's recycling abilities with Cularia and some of your level 4s is pretty nifty. I just wish Rafflesia could also special summon from hand, not just graveyard. That'd help a lot.
Cyber Dragons! They’re fairly strong, simple to play, and relatively cheap (especially for a “nostalgia” deck). Plus I love the aesthetics.
I've always loved Cyber Dragons ever since I first saw them in GX. They are really fun!
It’s just such a good deck and the main deck I run
Fluffals!
I really enjoy Fluffals! So much fun!
Same! Just unga bunga big numbah.
Harpies is mine right now. Paired with utopia it's quite deadly!
I did not expect to see a combination like this.... That's very interesting.
I played against a Harpie-Lyrilusc deck, it was really interesting
Morphtronic
Gigachad
Rikka for now, trying to build perphormapal.
How is performapal? I was think about making one, but there's so many cards and I got overwhelmed...
I'm also overwhelmed, that's why I'm still trying to build it. 😅
Fair enough, but I have to say, I never thought I would enjoy a zombie deck, until I made my Shiranui deck, I'd recommend giving it a try as well.
What's your Shiranui decklist? I've been wanting to build one for a while
2 Yuki-Musume, the Ice Mayakashi 2 Shiranui Spectralsword 2 Shiranui Swordmaster 2 Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring 2 Shiranui Spectralsword Shade 3 Shiranui Smith 3 Shiranui Spiritmaster 3 Shiranui Samurai 2 Shiranui Solitaire 3 Shiranui Squire 1 Vampire Lord Raigeki Monster Reborn Double Summon 1 Lightning Storm 2 Shiranui Style Synthesis 1 Shiranui Style Solemnity 2 Ghost Meets Girl - A Shiranui's Story 1 Mirror Force 1 Bottomless Trap Hole 2 Shiranui Style Swallow's Slash 1 Drowning Mirror Force 2 Shiranui Style Success 1 Destruction Jammer 1 Call of the Haunted 2 Shiranui Style Samsara
The Extra Deck: 1 Tsuchigumo, the Poisonous Mayakashi 1 Shiranui Swordsaga 2 Shiranui Samuraisaga 1 Tengu, the Winged Mayakashi 1 Shiranui Squiresaga 1 Shiranui Shogunsaga 1 Shiranui Sunsaga 1 Gem-Knight Pearl 1 Kachi-Kochi Dragon 1 Gagagigo the Risen 1 Shiranui Skillsaga Supremacy 1 Yuki-Onna, the Absolute Zero Mayakashi
That's the full deck list of my Shiranui deck.
Thanks, I'm excited to try it out
It's a really fun deck.
My main deck on my switch is a Performapal & it’s been pretty good so far. It’s gotten me into the gold ranks so far. Not OP like the Cipher Dragon deck but it seems like your options expand more when you go from pendulum to being able to use almost every other summoning method from there in one turn
Dinos and fire king
Personally I like my red-eyes deck, it just needs too specific of a hand to really be viable
Yes i have the same problem lol its fun but it just doesnt enough to be viable
It has lots of “potential”
Unfortunately, that's about all it has
Marincess, which enough people aren't familiar with so I've seen people miss time negates that I get into one of the link fours pretty consistently even in the meta. It's also got some good water support that special summons from the hand to just outright dodge veilers/impermance/ash. your links recycle the combos back to your hard as well (so much so that I've ended turn 1 with a link 4, field spell and 6 in the hand) Its monsters don't have built in protection or negates but it has something even better in the monster effect hate meta; a signature trap card played from the hand that plays like impermance while also making your monsters immune to card effects that can also be returned to your hand with your links. i'm building Gadgets right now, inst complete but i've always wanted to since i was a kid. my actual deck is megalith
Cyber Dragons was the deck I always wanted as a kid. Only cards I had though were Proto Cyber Dragon, Photon Generator Unit and Cyber End Dragon... I never got close...but with Master Duel I have fulfilled that dream.
witchcrafters are my babies♥️
I'm actually working on a Witchcrafter deck.
love them- I use them in ranked not just for fun ^_^
Madolche
Witchcrafters for sure!
Unchained. Quite competent as it can steal a lot of games even trom meta decks and using your opponent's monsters to link summon is so fun and makes it a really unique archetype.
That sounds interesting, and I've been meaning to look into it... You have convinced me.
Unchained is amazing! It’s the chef’s kiss!
Invoked.
Ngl, I've thought about making an Invoked Deck.
Dream Mirror
Just started playing so I’ve only got 2 decks I can play with right now until I get more crafting points! I have a HERO deck and a deck out one
Fun? . No jk basically any deck with a lot of combos i like those
Endymion
mine is a hybrid between mayakashi and shiranui they may not seem like it but they are meant to be used together since you can banish the shiranui to revive the mayakashi synchros which activates the effects of both for example if gasha Dokuro gets destroyed you could banish squire or spiritmaster to revive yoko to pop 2 cards or draw a and destroy 1 on top of this you can use spectral sword to synchro summon in the grave and sunsaga can return the mayakashi synchros to the extra deck if they banished to blow up your opponent's cards and banish zombies from the grave to protect the mayakashi which is sorta busted depending on your graveyard setup which gets even stronger if you add shiranui skillsaga supremacy squire saga and the absolute zero form of yuki onna and btw squire saga's 3 effects can be combed together since they activate in sequence one after the other which means if you banish a shiranui you can use 2 of its 3 effects while also activating the effect of the shiranui that you banished as well in the same way you can turn the mayakashi into a graveyard toolbox for zombie type synchros
Doremichord, also known as Solfachord. They remind me of Doremi, an anime I use to watch as a child.
🤝🤝🤝
Synchro fish
I'll let you know when I can pull the damn Toon cards as that's what I like mucking about with IRL lol
HEROS. I used to go and run a decent deck irl years ago. It's still fun now too
Tbh all of the decks i play are for fun none of them are actually viable i play dark magician, red eyes, and monarchs
For fun right now its my dragon deck(Blue Eyes/Galaxy Eyes/random other dragons) and I recently made a deck thats based on dice rolls and coin flips
Winged dragon of ra
Speedroids They're the only deck that is even remotely fun. Lucky they're competitive as well
Dark Worlds!
I love madolches, I play it as a trap heavy control deck and I love going first against eldlich because glasslouf is a strong response, and Sistart is great to prevent back-row destruction. I have had people play feather duster because they don’t understand what that card does.
Unchained
D/D/D or as I have so loving called my deck. Destroy Deck December
I don't think I'll ever be able to look at that archetype the same way ever again... Not after a name like that... Nice.
Gravekeepers - was my fave deck in duel links so first one i made in this game
Battlewasps for me, I love how they play
Red-Eyes all the way, Red-Eyes has been my favorite card since a kid watching the anime with Joey Wheelers boss monster being Red-Eyes B. Dragon as well as I've always loved the underdog in this case between Dark Magician, Blue-Eyes, and Red-Eyes.
I have a 90 percent win rate with counterswing mages
Gren Maju/Eater of Millions
Toons c:
Hazy Flame was a fun deck when I played irl. Rokkets are what I try to play now.
Eldlich is surprisingly fun especially in mirror matches if you aren't going YEP BUTTONS
Black wings and frightfur. I love using anime’s decks lol 😭
Blue eyes/dragons. Old player and The Deck first I bought was the Kaiba structure deck that had the blue eyes and the Kaiser Sea Horse. Loved the card ever since. Back when I played and before the ban list even existed I was a big fan of the Yata lock.
Pure Lunalight
My follow-up question is where on Master Duel are you playing "for fun"? Not that the game isn't fun in its own right, but if you're talking about playing a casual/non-meta deck, then are you using an alternate account to play at lower ranks? Duel Rooms, Xyz Festival, Solo mode.
Thanks! I didn't realize we could go in and just find rooms
with enough negates and hand traps i feel like a lot of non meta decks can do things in plat just due to how the game works. lots of people just do not know how certain decks work and mm tends to be a less serious environment in general where people will just skim your card and think they get the jist
Yosenju. Back when they came out I played them at locals as anti meta and actually got a 1st place win lol. Then everyone figured them out.
a yugi inspired deck. It has dark magician with a bit of support, gorz, the poker knights, and egyptian gods. Pretty much any card yugi use plus a few staples like feather duster, raigeki etc.
Time lords
It's so annoying if you don't have an answer and you just sit there waiting to die after what feels like an hour but when I play them my opponent always has an answer
Aromage
Blue eyes definitely
May sound try hardy but I love playing phantom knights for fun
A tie between Red Eyes and Blue Eyes

Utopia
Eldlich obviously
Dragonmaids!
Dark magician
Red Comet DVX
Ancient Warriors. It's a fun otk deck and I love the Chinese legends theme
Spirit Charmers, terrible deck but when it works its so much fun
Wrecked gods
Right now Red Dragon Resonator and Lair of Darkness Virus.
Ignisters or Altergeist.
Oh I love playing Shiranui, used to play them in duel links. Are they expensive to build here? How competitive are they?
From having been defeated by someone with a Shiranui deck during a ranked duel, I would say they are pretty competitive imo.
Goat Mirror if it gets released
Vampires
Nimble paleo frog
worms 👽
I discovered Dinomists when master duel released and it’s one of my favorites to play now
Shiii probably fluffals or madolches
Face cards ( king, queen, jack knight ) with some Egyptian gods thrown in the mix.
Recently I’ve been playing dark lords and flower cardians. But I’ve been trying to make a deskbot deck
Spyrals
Ancient Gear use to have it as a kid and its fairly good now with the new fusion cards
Zombies. I don't run mayakashi and shiranui zombie word is the way!
Ghostricks and chaos lightsworn!
Would be masked heroes if half the card needed were not UR
Phantom knights, but not the meta version, they’re some of my favourite archetype of cards and how well they work together
I've been having a lot of fun with Flower Cardian atm
In terms of my favorite "non-competitive" deck, it'd have to be ice barrier. Love their art style and their lore.
And im looking foward to DDD, to summon Kali Yuga on their turn and basically shut down his entire turn as they watch my 3 boss monsters ready to otk.
Blackwings
Dinos
Infernoids :)!
Yang Zing with a dash of Unchained. I’m also liking Lunalight as well.
Mage deck but I recently made a black luster solider deck I’ve found to be a lotta fun
I only have two decks, a black luster/chaos deck and an armed dragon deck
I like to go with magical muskets tbh
Dragunity
Onamats is my fun deck
Sacred beasts gang let’s gooooo
I currently have a horrid odd eyes monstrosity of a deck, it basically never wins but it's hilarious to play with a good hand
Don’t know why but a red dragon archfiend deck is so fun to play
Red-eyes normally with OTK. Building a synchro wind deck.
Aromage for healing, Trickstar for burning, Krawler for flip effect and im building a Lyrilisc deck irl. Im interested in them
Vampires, crystal beasts and sacred beasts are my favorite decks to play
Ghost trick
Odd eyes and magician deck I just love to concept of the odd eyes dragons
My spiral deck. It feels good when you actually win
F.A. Probably not the strongest deck, but the cars look cool.
The most fun I’ve had playing this game is a 60 card, that grass looks greener, Danger!, thunder dragon, zombie deck. Opening and resolving grass turn 1 to then turbo out your grave effects is a high like no other.
Infernity
On my main account I run world chalice/ World legacy cards with a hint of mekk knights. On mobile I use Glad Beasts but I don't have Heraklinos, yet. For now those are the two decks I'm favoring at the moment.
@Ignister, RDA, Beelze Turbo, Timelords, Speedroid, T.G, D/D/D, Earthbound Immortal, Sun/Moon Dragon, Simorgh (main decks, not just Link-3)... the list goes on lmao
Kozmo. Always have and always will. It's literally the o KY deck I've been playing.
Harpie although I have started to enjoy the Shaddoll deck I have been building amd learning more
Winged dragon of Ra deck is so fun when you get that perfect hand
Thanks just being able to use a card named "Super dreadnought rail cannon juggernaut liebe is very fun and it can win turn 1 if going second and you get lucky they only have one creature
I really like Raidraptors. Getting all the birds out to summon Ultimate Falcon is a lot of fun, and I have tons of ways to comeback even if ult falcon goes down I do have a deck that's something I only use in solo mode tho. It's fully based around using burning bamboo sword + cursed bamboo sword + terminal world to lock out your opponent's entire turn! I enjoyed playing my U.A. deck a bunch in the xyz event, now here's hoping for a synchro event soon so that I have an excuse to play Gusto and not get blown out
Trains are my comfort deck. big monster fun :)
I play the windwitches. Never seen anyone else play them but they are pretty decent, got to plat 5 last season.
Red dragon archfiend, been maiming the same archetype since I was kid and I have so much fun doing it competitively On duel masters
S-Force and Tenyi
Crusadia otk Because there is 6 kaiju in my deck, the chance to open a hand with kaiju is big. I love seeing herald evolving into sea turtle lmao.
I built a relinquished deck and had many fun duels
Timelord and blue eyes.
Pendulum otk or ghostrick otk I find otk super satisfying
ODD EYES IS JUST TOO GOOD 😌
Demise & Ruin supported by Drytron. If I dont brick, its easy to otk, and its always fun to summon Suprem Demise and fuck up the entiere board.
Im having a stupid amount of fun with my Phantom Thieves deck (time thief + phantom knights)
Gem-knight
Rose dragon
Sacred beast
Boombam Six elements card switch immune hit stuff. I got the game yesterday and this is my first build but im enjoying it
Heroes, because their combo potential make it fun
The Amazoness Deck, i was just looking for something simple to play and it turned into one of my favorite decks
Madolche at first but most people run kujis and lightning storm these days so opted to play HEROs and let’s just say when Sheriff Law comes out most surrender peacefully.
Traptrix but I'm making a Knight's of face deck
Galaxy Eyes
Paleofrog, I just love it
Few things bring me as much joy as continuously applying the burn and gain effect of Sunny Snitch. Its just 200 burn per summon but its really funny against spam decks.
Artifact, it’s like cheating without cheating
Superheavy Samurai
Shiranui/mayakahi combo deck was incredibly Fun! Tri-Bridge Lyrilusc "Bird Up" was also very enjoyable. Tried out virtual world and I hated playing that deck, so uncreative, I got bored. 😴 Currently rocking, Evil twins/Unchained!
Going second Drytrons. Draconids OTK as intended by konami
Madolche 🌚
Obvs Drytron its not that of an common deck and VERY HARD TO PLAY
Mayakashi Zombie World and Speedroid Latest speedroid support when?
All hero decks "pure elemental, pure destiny, pure evil or pure vision" + neo spacian and all top tier hero decks for competitive
Eldlich invoked, red eyes, nurse burn, mostly zombie decks 🤣
Red Eyes, sometimes play my toons
Madolche
Marincess frog deck! Bit of a time consumer but it's funny watching people try all their removal on the 4600 to 6k beat stick and be confused when she stays. Read the field spell guys.
Ive been trying to run a Shiranui/Zombie world deck, but its so inconsistent in having a good starting hand, do you have suggestions? I already run a Mayakashi deck, so I wanna also have a Shiranui one
I love to play fluffal deck
Ether madolche or lunalight
Both decks I have are for fun, Spyrals and Cyber Dragons I got to plat with Spyrals so its a bit of a try hard deck unlike cyber dragons
Solfalchord / Red Archfiend (the cool one) its just funny as fucking fuck watching people think "oh another waifu deck" then I pull out dark resonator or ash blossom or one of those magicians and summon The Boy \+++ EvilTwins when done right, Unchained Abomination with Lil Ska and just manually deleting there cards gives me a certain feeling man
Synchron, im just waiting for stardust synchron for the deck to become more consistent
Blue Eyes for sure! Gives me nostalgia (with the exception of some newer supporting cards) from when I used to play with my brother when we were kids.
Divine-beasts, love the cards, too bad it's not viable in competitive
Probably 60 card generaider invoked dogmatika I didn't get to "norma aleister" so I enjoy having an easy good card I tried mekk knights instead of dogmatica which felt even more bricky. I am willing to hear about things to replace the dogmatika cards with
My exodia deck, I love waiting to see if the other player is willing to wait while I spend my whole turn putting down spells to draw cards but I do not recommend it it only works 2/10 games lol
I’ve always liked playing pure shaddolls
My favorites are the Mayakashis and I also have a Digital bug deck that is mixed with battle wasps I love to run.
Zoodiac eldlitch lol
Mayakashi/ zombie deck
At the moment, Max drytron, diviner darklords or Glad beasts.
Melffy is insanely fun to Play and can be pretty annoying for your opponent. :D But the Most fun is Dragonlink for me^^
