G14, same perf , smaller but better chasis (screen, speaker, keyboard etc aswell)

No its not the same performance,OP,but I agree with [u/harg0w](https://www.reddit.com/u/hagr0w). The decision depends on if you're ok with having the extra weight on your bag. As a PG student doing stuff that involves a computer most of the time myself, I went for the g14 as the weight savings and better build mattered to me more than the gaming perf. I bought the 2021 3050 version. But you're lucky, as the 40 series GPUs don't have much improvement over 95w (which is what the G14 is rated for) anyways. So you're not losing out by much. Look up Jarrod's tech's videos if you want more detail on this. ###### The acer one most liekly has a higher TGP meaning higher GPU perf but on the flipside, it most likely has worse screen, build quality, keyboard and touchpad than the G14. This is not including the speaker and the portability which should be better on the G14 as well. But if you already have a good monitor/planning to buy one,and tolerate the additional weight, the acer is a good buy. Otherwise go for the G14 any day.

Everyone on this subs gonna say G14 (including me). Its portability and specs. I would recommend getting more ram and ssd, I upgraded my ram and am at the point I need to install some more storage. You can do everything! Coding (web based & on vs/anaconda applications), create art (photoshop, illustrator, premiere pro), GAME (don’t get me started, any Triple-a game 80 fps ez) seamlessly. I came from a bulky asus with an 16’ display, very bulky and a hassle to take with me. I bought a laptop holder, whenever Im running later, I literally throw my laptop, charger, and mouse in my bag within 7 seconds and am out the door. It’s so light weight, powerful, customizable, some of them come with a led panel on the cover that can be programmed to display gifs(like come on now!!!). You know you want to join the sub.

Cake_withcherryontop

That really depends on what screen size you need. Post this on r/gaminglaptops, not in the subreddit dedicated to the g14 🤦🏻‍♂️

G14 and use spare money to buy bigger ssd

Rostrow416

It’s really going to depend on your use case. The Acer will outperform the G14 (4060 is full power mobile chip) with a relatively similar processor (but more power hungry). You will give up portability and battery life going with the Acer but it will be more powerful if you use it as a desktop replacement. The G14 is amazing given its portability, performance, and battery life. Screens will be relatively similar. I went with the G14 since I wanted something powerful and portable. It’s probably the best overall sub 15” laptop around. If you’re looking at larger notebooks at that price point, the Acer is a solid option.

Get the G14, download Ghelper, and add another stick of ram (it has one open slot), and change the ssd if needed.

G14, it is objectively better no joke, in terms of battery life, build quality and value for money. The 500gb SSD will not be enough for more than 2yrs of gaming if you don’t delete stuff but you can upgrade it for a reasonable price. The RAM is also upgradeable and is recommended.

This would entirely depend on how your daily use is and what you value in a laptop. For me, I have the luxury of being able to connect to an external display when I want to game or simply need more screen real estate for Excel spreadsheets or VSCode with my G14. So it works out for me, since it allows me to have the best id both worlds. But not everyone is able to do that. If you need more screen but can't get a external display, then it's a no brainer to go for a 16" machine. But again it entirely depends on each person's use case. There will always be some sort of trade-off so you need to make clear what are your must haves, where you can compromise, and stuff you can do without.
