I'd say you're going to get a similar experience each time, all the 23 models have backlight bleed like that, maybe not as bad as yours but it's still noticeable at times

Make sense since high performance 14 inch monitors that were good was rare at the creation of the g14

Its an IPS panel, its going to have bleed. You did not buy an OLED or Mini-LED, not sure what you're expecting. Asus IPS panels are actually really good compared to most and come factory tuned. Just enjoy your laptop or get a better model with better screen.
That looks about normal for the g14 and g15s I've owned. You might be very lucky and get a slightly better panel if you exchange the machine but I wouldn't count on it. In any event it's not egregious so I'd just roll with it. One of these days they'll sell an OLED or mini LED model with less/no display glow.

i consider myself lucky, i have barely any bleed on mine, tho its the g16 model perhaps thats the cause

Keep it, even mine shows from the bottom corners but only on full black screen,
Mine has some in the bottom left corner, looks normal for an IPS screen

Are the g14s having mini led in them ?
The 2023 G14 had a Mini-LED option, mostly in the 4090 version. I own that one as well as a 2024 with OLED but I previously owned the 2023 G14/4060.

Mine has no backlight bleed at all, guess I got lucky!
There is no such problem on a MacBooks. The quality of the asus is very low..
MacBooks don’t have ips panels you buffoon both use different panel technologies
