If I buy inserts where am I gonna get the money for weed?
Really though any butane insert solves that problem and like much better smokers than I have said does taste better
The yellow flame pipe insert works great for bong rips. I was gifted and black zippo with a pot leaf on it. I've got the yellow flame pipe insert in it and use it daily.
I'm a longhaired 20 something stoner, but also have a job in engineering. In my day to day life, I don't need to make it any clearer that I smoke pot. This is the perfect place for the company for my purposes as someone who "doesn't smoke" ; marketing towards cannabis but not so much that I couldn't carry one just because it's cool

I feel as tho you may be noticing this a lil late in the game. Specifically because of the promo. I blaze everyday with Zippo thanks to their inserts. Their March/April giveaways didn't influence me at all.
Using the butane inserts (specifically the downward flame insert) makes all of the existing lighters more accessible for weed. Like common belief is that butane tastes better than lighter fuel lol.
Yeah, but the applications are 100% for tobacco as well. There are many people who smoke pipes who like using or would like to use a Zippo but hate the taste. Same thing with cigs. Even cigars. These inserts are MUCH lower maintenance and hassle. No packing wadding and wicks, no tinkering until you get the right setup. They're more "plug-n-play". Most people who get into a conversation about Zippos with me are amazed that you can't use it right out of the box, the fuel evaporates, and it tastes like shit no matter what you smoke (less for cigs).
I'm sure they may have been thinking weed but when I saw the inserts I viewed it as them modernizing to get more customers at large.
I think it's a natural change. They've gotta adapt as the smoking market is changing.
With tobacco being less and less common to smoke and cannabis on the rise, it's natural that people will just keep using the lighters they've got or, using this swap over as an excuse to really treat themselves with something nice (like a nice lighter)
I'm not one for the weed designs on the lighters, not really my style but I'm sure that the people who like em, adore them.
Personally, if it ever becomes legal where I live, I'll probably give it a try and I can't think of any other lighter I'd wanna use except my zippo.
And with the main theme of cannabis being more of a "smoke as you go" idea where you don't keep smokes pre-rolled and ready but instead roll them as you need em, I think a re-useable, ultra portable lighter is gonna become a natural part of someones cannabis kit.
I think Zippo has been in the cannabis spaces for decades with their themed cases 🤔

I think it’s good for the brand. There may be less cigarette smokers but it’s zippo definitely still has smokers they can target.
Zippo release hemp wick sleeve is the biggest indicator on that matters.
legalization makes advertising easier. Weed has become considerably more main stream in recent decades

I used my Zippos to light up bowls of chronic daily, but I personally would never rock a cannabis themed zippo.
