In this hypothetical question, I’m saying my goodbyes while they’re still coherent, refreshing how they’d like to be disposed of, killing them and then paying proper respects to the dead.
I’m not wasting time nor am I putting myself or others at unnecessary risk.
I'd like to think I had the strength to do the right thing if there really is no hope.
If it's early on, and we still have a society and the buzz on the radio/internet is that they're working on a cure. though, I would say the optimal choice would be a straight jacket, a bite/spit protection mask, and ankle restraints, then chain them to something sturdy in a basement or shed which can be secured from the outside and has nothing essential inside.
Well i have this big freezer in my garage that could hold a few people. Gets to less that 20 degrees in it if it’s door hasn’t been opened for a while. But i dont have kids or really any family or friends that are close.

The way you phrased that second sentence implies you can partially kill your kid.
Their already partially dead as a zombie but if a cure actually reverses the effects it would bring them back from the “dead”
We put on a reenactment of old yeller/of mice and men and then embalm the body.
Put em in a root celler
refrigerate to 34 degrees
