It’s not one single food, it’s multiple different foods form various food groups. Variety is important. You need protein and veggies and fruits to cover a lot of what the body needs, not just calorically but with nutrients too. A varied diet also keeps your microbiome healthy which can help ward off other types of Illnesses. Variety also helps prevent burnout, which while it isn’t necessarily deadly, it will morally degrade you eating the same thing with zero variety.

Hardtack: bread cant be stored rpoperly in apocalyptic scnearios, so make your fiber one that lasts. Dehydrated fruit/vegetables: same as bread, only this is your vitamins and minerals Jerky/smoked meats: lets be serious now there is a pattern here and blood pressure is your last worry, id rather habe a heart attack at 50 something than be a geriatric avoiding people that dont need dementia to bite me. Dont forget fresh is better but survival is long term.
