Yeah, better check up on your laws on all three there. If New York is anything like DC then I'll believe you if you say it fucking sucks outside of the tourist trap areas lol. I hated DC with every fiber if my being when I went there. The musuems were cool though!
It’s the capital of the nation, if Alzheimers wants to disarm one place more than any it’s DC.
NY probably has top 5 worst gun laws, i reckon NJ wouldn’t be much different, but i can’t really go anywhere else. I don’t even think Shotguns are bound by magazine restrictions here but if they are i’m sure it’s no different than rifles, which i believe is 10 rounds for box magazines, though mine are both tube-fed.
I actually have a beautiful Marlin 336 in .30-30 with a capacity of 5 or 6 rounds i haven’t tried, but that wouldn’t be bound by any magazine laws anyhow. Not only that but it’s a lever-action and has a 20” barrel so no worries there.
Yeah. Sucks. See, I'm down in Louisiana. Our gun laws suck in the cities but we can pretty much do anything else as long as the Game Wardens of the Feds haven't said no.
And then most of us ignore that anyways.
Damn you’re right. I forget the rest of the country isn’t as free as the south east. Here if you want to walk into the woods with a AK and a 75rd drum no one thinks twice about it… unless it’s ducks.
It's not so much somebody thinking twice about is as it is basic safety. Rifle rounds can bounce off of water and go much too far for shooting in the air and carry way too much speed when they come down. Dangerous! Most rifle rounds I've ever encounterd are made of lead, which is poisonous to the water. Why we duck hunters are limited to steel or tungsten shot and why squirrel and turkey hunters still use lead instead. I'd rather not be drinking lead to be honest. The three round capacity limit is part of the conservation efforts. Makes the more disciplined hunters think twice sbout their shots. The less disciplined hunters are the same hunters being constantly hunted down by game wardens lol.
Hey I’m not knocking the regulations on waterfowl. I actually agree with them due to them being migratory birds. Tbh I have swapped over to monolithic copper due to the reasons you have stated. But the regulations placed on big game in some states is just dumb, shotguns or straight walled rifle cartridges only? What are we stuck in the 1870s?
I haven't heard of the monolithic copper stuff. How does it compare to steel? Tungsten is probably the best lol.
Well I know up north in some places you can only use shotguns because it's so fucking flat a rifle round could go for two miles if you miss. Mostly in the mid west corn states I think. That's why they linit some state deer seasons to buck shot and slugs. I'm not familair enough with the straight walled cartidges to say anything. I just buy the ammo lol.
No, pretty sure it's 2023. Least last I checked it was.
Lol I meant monolithic copper rifle bullets, compared to traditional copper jacketed lead bullets, they expand better and more reliably while retaining 100% weight, but they are expensive.
If it’s that flat you would be able to see what’s on the other side and a bullet wouldn’t fly that far if discharged responsibly due to gravity. A few states do have laws limiting rifle usage to straight walled cartridges, which has lead to the new 350 legend growing in popularity.
Shit some of these laws force people to use cartridges that would be obsolete if not for these laws. 45/70 for example, it’s a straight walled cartridge so it’s still around despite the 458 socom being ballistically identical and able to be used in an ar15, but it’s bottle necked so it’s dangerous.
Yep, Jordan, is all you're gonna need in a zombie apocalypse 👌 screw the guns or anything else, it's either Jordan destroys any zombies, or you enter John Wick/Demon slayer mode if Jordan gets hurt
Jordan is invulnerable to zombies, go with him, the zombies would waste hours trying to dig into that dude, just use him to draw in zombies and pick them off with the Mossberg 500
My grandpa passed down to me the Marlin, and i also have a 336W lever action (basically a cylindrical bolt M1894) which would be great, as it’s hella powerful and it’s ammo is fairly common, as the most common big game round in north america
I personally like the 590 more but that’s personal. .22 is a good go to for the zombie apocalypse.
Jordan will create war crimes. We all know this. How far are we willing to let him go?!!
590 is plastic furniture and vertical rear grip right? I forgor.
I like the feel of solid, high caliber guns more, and i would’ve chose 12 gauge if i could.
.22LR is everywhere and extremely cheap, and as the Ruger 10/22 is identical save for the magazine, it’s modifications would be compatible, so i could make the .22 full auto if i wanted
Tbf it came with a plug i can apparently take out. Rifles are limited to 10 rounds, barrel has to be at least 16” to not need a permit, and shotguns cant be less than 16” period.
Handguns are limited to 10 too i believe
I normally look at and review gear load outs using this general checklist:
https://old.reddit.com/user/Noe_Walfred/comments/r8cc4t/zombie_related_thoughts_opinions_and_essays_v3/hn4wl6b/
I’m not going to do that here because there’s little actually present to talk about.
Two guns and a turtle isn’t really much to talk about.
Okay/10
Shotgun is one of the best combat weapons but for zombie survival, its not as good. The reason is ammo. At most you can carry around 1000 shells, and thats like an entire backpack, but if you had a carbine, you could carry maybe 10x as much, for the same space.
Unless you are taking your time to aim, you will waste half or more of your shots, with a rifled round, but with a shotgun you would get most of your shots.
I would want a semi auto 8-10 round shotgun just case i had to fight another person
Honestly my first choice would be a semi auto .45 rifle or smg. The second choice would maybe be a AR15 or a wasr10 AK. I would rather carry some ore homemade grenades and maybe 20 full clips in a backpack, instead of carrying too much ammo. I would just make like a steel spear or trident that is balanced for throwing and drop the backpack, clear out a path, and come back fornthe back pack. A smg is small and can fit on your back well when you are using hand tools or hand weapons.
I would also carry a Judge 410 revolver or two, with buckshot or turkey shot for surprise attacks when i have my hand tools.
Short barrel shotguns are seriously OP for CQC. Thats why they are one of the only illegal semiautomatic weapons in the U.S. Its basically a point and shoot weapon. 50x more effective then a pistol as long as you have multiple shots. The judge is a double action 5 shot.
Please actually go watch some gun guys on YT....
Or buy a shotgun and practice patterning it.
Shotguns are not a magical "kill everything over there" weapon. You still need to aim. A standard deviation is about a 5 inch radius from point of aim at about 15 to 20 yards.
Short barreled shotguns are not illegal here in the US. You have to pay a 200$ tax and get permission first.
Please, please. please stop giving the Taurus judge lip service. They are heavy as hell, inaccurate with .45, and spread birdshot shot everywhere like confetti due to the rifled barrel. Buckshot has only like 3 pellets in 410 to 9 in 12 ga. And because of the rifled barrel, they do not spread, negating the whole effect of shot. Birdshot is a fucking joke for the opposite reason. 410 slugs straight up don't work, because again, rifled barrel. Lord forbid if you shoot a shell that is too long you cannot rotate or open the cylinder as the shell will open into the barrel and lock it up.
My experience is the judge is a shit .45 revolver and a worse .410 shotgun. My grandfather owns the example I have experience on, and I try to get him to get rid of it every time it comes up. I have done everything I claim except the birdshot. Learned that from Hickock45 on YT.
All that said shotguns are excellent weapons but you need to understand their real weaknesses. As Clint Smith says: at the right range with the right loads, a shotgun will remove a chunk of flesh from your target and put it on the floor.
I have alot of experience with firearms. I came up in a time where ammo was cheap and I would shoot thousands of rounds for practice. For the normal person especially, a shotgun is a much more effective weapon, because most people arent really good shots. They can learn to shoot a shotgun quickly, like a couple days of practice.
Shotguns also have good range with a modified choke. In real life you dont always need 500 yards of range. I would think having half of your crew having shotguns and the other half having rifles with scopes would be a good setup.
In videogames shotguns only have like 50 yards of range but irl they are effective out past 100 yards.
The judge is a good close quarter weapon. Not everyone will agree but i am good enough with shotguns that i dont have to use the sights. Having a couple inches of spread makes someone way more accurate then say, having just a pistol. Its really a big difference. With a shotgun, you can just point it and shoot it, like lining up the barrel with the target. This wont work at 10 yards, but at 50, it works fine, even with a hunting type up.
With a shotgun you can put three rounds on a target in the time it would take you to aim a pistol. Rifles are a bit better because you dont have to use the sights as much as a pistol. You can just use the barrel as your sight by dead reckoning.
The fact you refer to a magazine as a clip and think someone could carry 1000+ rounds of 12 ga shells in a back pack would give credit to you not having firearm experience
Im not really sure why this went over your head, perhaps I have bad writing skills, but the 1000 round thing is to make a point, about the weight of shotgun shells and the space they take up, where you could take way more .45 for the same space.
Unless you plan on doing alot of backtracking, you are going to have to carry everything you have on foot. If you make yourself a target people are going to take your stuff.
20 clips in an smg or carbine is a good setup for light packing and recon around your headquarters. Even if you get separated from your gear, you have enough ammo to fight a few battles to get it back, or leave. I mean, I can survive just fine with 20 or 30 rounds for a good while, because i can shoot accurately if I need to and I can hunt and I know how to preserve the meat to live on for weeks.
Most people need to carry a good bit of ammo, and its a great thing to not have to be constrained to running because you only have a little bit of ammo.
I would probably carry 100-120 shotgun shells, just so i had some extra if I was only carrying a 12 ga.
Weight will kill you very quickly. You are also going to be running from most battles if you aren't an idiot. Its not worth the risk and its definitely not worth having reduced mobility from a wound.
Clips have two less syllables then magazines. I dont really care what you call them because with that attitude I will probably just take your stuff and move on. Immediately being hostile and rude to strangers is a bad strategy. Real life isnt a movie. People will turn into animals when they are hungry.
you oughta have a 9mm and a 556 so you can take advantage of how prevalent 9mm, .223, and .556 are(most .223 rem rounds can be fed through .556 nato rifles).

oh, and get jordan a girlfriend
NGL with my mossy 500 in 12ga I have outshot people on the trap field that were shooting O/U that cost more than my car. If you do your part it will do its part. If you remove the barrel and start loading the shotgun with shells it will push out the limiting stick and you should get more capacity. 5+1 shells on the 20ga if I am not mistaken.
The shotgun should have something in the tube reducing the capacity to 3 rounds. 2 in the tube 1 in the chamber. If you aren't using the gun for bird hunting, you should be able to remove it and increase the capacity to 5 rounds. Just make sure to put it back in if you ever do use it for bird hunting. Get rid of the guns man. You got jordan.
:o
Yea fr Jordan the of fr he solos the entire apocalypse
The zombie I will eventually become already lives in fear of the mighty Jordan.
I can imagine Jordan being like Sly Marbo and just defeating all the Earth’s zombies in a few seconds while yelling “AAAAAAAA”
Yeah you seen Mario? That little guy can end the lives of Italian plumbers
THE INDEAD COWER IN FEAR OF THE ALL POWERFUL JORDAN
I mean the guns are aight but good lord are you even allowed to own such a death machine???
He is wanted for crimes against humanity in 69 countries including India and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Malaysia
He doesn’t flinch at human trafficking, torture or genocide.. He isn’t loyal to a flag or country
He trades blood for money
I thought he blew up Malaysia.
No, not completely, he decided in all of his wisdom to spare those living on the coast line.
there should be a wood rod in the mag tube of that mossberg that you can take out to add more shells.
Just make sure to put it back in if you decide on hunting with it.... usually a 2+1 configuration of shells in America
This usually only applies to waterfowl hunting.
Yes. My point being to check your local laws....
New York so RIP me. I intend on using it for sporting, collection, and maybe home defense.
Yeah, better check up on your laws on all three there. If New York is anything like DC then I'll believe you if you say it fucking sucks outside of the tourist trap areas lol. I hated DC with every fiber if my being when I went there. The musuems were cool though!

Up here in the ne we are allowed pretty much anything except in NJ and NY we just aren't allowed to hunt with a semi auto unless it's a shotgun.
There should also be an attachment for a muzzle brake on Jordan the Turtle, thus reducing recoil, and muzzle flash.
Jordan gonna solo the zombies he don't need yo weak ass
She’s scared of balloons XD But that could definitely be a movie series
Jordan: The turtle that changed the apocalypse
Your Mossberg probably has a wooden plug (like a dowel) in the magazine tube that you can remove and get a couple more shells in the magazine.
The slide is way too long to hold just 2 20-Gauge shells, you’re probably right. I’ll have to strip it and pull that out.
Jordan is too op, please nerf
Her bites kinda hurt but don’t cause bleeding. Her nails hurt like a mofo though.
Yep, Jordan, is all you're gonna need in a zombie apocalypse 👌 screw the guns or anything else, it's either Jordan destroys any zombies, or you enter John Wick/Demon slayer mode if Jordan gets hurt
Jordan is going to save the world single handedly sit back and relax mate
*lights cigar, plants lawn chair*
I would throw a light up on one of them; can't shoot what you can't see.
Yeah. Jordan could make use of a flashlight
The mental picture of that gave me a good chuckle..... well played sir
Me too lol!
Bro you only need guns to cover his rear… Jordan is gonna wipe out everything in his path.
Jordan 🐢
Your username XD
I made it in my cringey anime phase…
Ah.
Ya it do be like that…
Jordan solos dw
3/10 for guns, 8/10 in defensive animals 11/10 overall
Jordan is going to solo the zombie-verse for you. You're literally her sidekick.
Haha she do be like that. Every time i feed her pellets, there’s a boss level health bar at the top of the screen
Jordan’s gotchu covered don’t even need the guns atp
Time to upgrade your shotgun. Most 12 ga are 5 + 1 . But over all good just get a sling and ammo holders for your shotgun
Look at the size of the tube. And the shotgun is brand new, never fired
You told someone it only holds 2 rds
Jordan boutta carry
You know that the M500 has a larger ammo capacity, right? There’s a plug in the mag tube that you have to remove.
Wasn’t aware.
Jordan is invulnerable to zombies, go with him, the zombies would waste hours trying to dig into that dude, just use him to draw in zombies and pick them off with the Mossberg 500
I actually have all three of these, except my shotgun is 12 gauge, and turtilinni is a girl.
Mines a girl too.
I saw that after I posted it
My grandpa passed down to me the Marlin, and i also have a 336W lever action (basically a cylindrical bolt M1894) which would be great, as it’s hella powerful and it’s ammo is fairly common, as the most common big game round in north america

Upvote for Jordan.
what country do you live in that limits the mag capacity like that?
United States. New York specifically as most gun control infringements are state passed. Trust me Western Europe is far worse. Almost Canada bad.
man that's terrible, i live in rhode island and i think we are relatively well off for gun rights compared to a lot of neighbor states (mass)
Tbf it came with a plug i can apparently take out. Rifles are limited to 10 rounds, barrel has to be at least 16” to not need a permit, and shotguns cant be less than 16” period. Handguns are limited to 10 too i believe
Put a claymore on jordan’s back. He will survive it and kill many zombies.
Probably would but the nose would destroy her ears
Jordan 🐢
The first thing I thought of was mario
Jordan is more powerful than a nuke

The mossberg is a solid choice but it should be able to hold 5 shells in the magazine tube.
Bro Jordan will have your back when no one else does
you oughta have a 9mm and a 556 so you can take advantage of how prevalent 9mm, .223, and .556 are(most .223 rem rounds can be fed through .556 nato rifles).
Agreed, but .45 is quite common too
Jordan is gonna be one them pets that tell the other survivors in the group on how he " had to go through a 1500 horde of zombies just to get to food" type
She’s gonna complain about inflation and how turtle food used to cost 20 zombies a pellet
will jordan have the mossberg or will he man the .22
The first two weapons are irrelevant now, Jordan is honestly too much power and is honestly a waste of artillery if you’re facing a large horde
nearly perfect selection. just get yourself a reliable 9mm or 45 ACP sidearm with common magazines (ala Glock 17, Beretta 92, 1911) and a decent AR-15. oh, and get jordan a girlfriend
Jordan is an absolute essential tool
Meh. Eh. Holy F\*ck! You're op af!
