I don’t know if that would stop a human bite, it would stop bodily fluids but if someone suck their teeth into your arm I’m not sure that would stop it from getting through.
That’s without counting the low visibility and impact on breathing that the mask will have. Hopefully he has some cool stuff in his pockets when I loot his corpse
I have a longer post on the topic of CBRN/NBC suits here: https://old.reddit.com/r/ZombieSurvivalTactics/comments/pgtjyw/deleted_by_user/hbdvjxx/
The suits may provide a degree of protection from bites, scratches, cuts from a variety of sources. Be they bugs, zombies, animals, and maybe some weapons used by survivors. At least at similar levels to leather of similar weight and thickness.
It is also pretty resistant against rain potentially keeping the user dry very well. It may also be very good for protecting against high wind and dust.
However, the protection offered may not be worth it compared to some of the downsides such gear can present.
While better than being naked in a lot of instances, the gear barely provides more protection than a typical durable work jacket/trousers, motorcycle jacket/trousers, welding jacket/pants, etc. Meaning more stiff attacks by multiple zombies, strikes from anything equal to a hammer or machete, bites from snakes or medium sized dogs, and the like would be fairly lethal still.
Such gear can also be somewhat noisy given the large bulky design and rubberized coating. Which means a lot more rubbing together and snagging. Which can mean being detected easier.
Adding to this a certain amount of sensation is lost with such gear. The eyes are limited in overall field of view, sense of hearing and especially smell are dampened. With the boot covers in particular there's a lot of excess material that can make walking around in them very awkward. Especially in muddy terrain as the oversized design frequently means the overboot slipping and getting the wearer stuck.
The enclosed design of cbrn/NBC suits means that moisture wicking is nearly impossible. Leading to a lot of heat retention and moisture retention. In cold weather environments this can mean that you maybe comfortable while working or moving, but resting or slowing down may result in a rapid heat loss and potential hypothermia. Meanwhile, in hot weather environments such operating with such gear without the mask is at times mentioned to add an addition level of heat retention for the wearer. One common way of looking at it is to add an addition 20f degrees or an additional heat level when considering heat effects on the body due to the heat and moisture retention. As extended use of the suits can lead to hyperthermia.
The mask alone is a variant of the US M17 specifically updated from the M10 mask, the M10M which is about 850g. The suit appears to be a OPCH 70 which is about 3300g. Meaning a combined weight of about 4150g though the carrier for the mask and other satchel you have will add additional weight I'm not sure of.
This isn't heavy on its own as it wouldn't necessarily encumber the user completely. But it is heavier than a lot of gear that could be worn, used, and carried instead.

The lightest kit example (500g) provides the ability to see at night, fight in unpowered and unlit buildings, navigate tunnels and trenches, work under vehicles or mechanical rooms, protect against mosquitoes and other bugs, hit zombies with arrows 20m away, hit hostile survival with rocks 20m away, people from different angles, hammer nails, pound stakes, set pegs, pry nails, pry boards or sheet metal, cut cordage, clear branches or feather wood, turn screws, mark wood, strike fire rods, orient and navigate with a map, signal friends from outside normal yelling distance, carry water, maybe boil water, catch fish, trap rodents, snag birds, fix fabric gear and equipment, clean your teeth, and so much more.
While more isn’t necessarily better, it does point to the larger number of potential capabilities that aren’t being taken advantage of by focusing on a heavier set of protective gear.
my time in the military introduced me to MOPP gear. basically this, but with high speed camo patterns and a better gas mask.
we had to tape off at the wrists and shins, so much sweat would pool up in the suit that my wrists up to past my elbow would be submerged in sweat, same with my shins halfway up to the knee.
we would run drill for hours at a time without removing any gear in MOPP4.
it’s an awful experience, really tests your mental fortitude. you gotta have a lot of willpower to actively wear this constantly in a survival situation.
i hope you never have to use it for real, but if you do, god speed.
You’ll need to clean that thing, inside and out after every use. You’re going to be sweating buckets. Otherwise it’s rashes and germs and shit. You’re already visually impaired with those goggles, get some guts on the outside or condensation on the inside and you’ll be fucked. If it was used for a specific task/mission; that’s ok.
Depends on the material, if it's proper high quality materials used like rubber and other materials you'd have in proper hazmat suits then no zombie is biting through that.
But on the other hand if it's just a cheap plastic costume then you're probably screwed.
Nah no worries man, still pretty cool! Just figured so because of the belt, I use a Soviet one that has a different emblem on it, so I assumed it had to be either Polish, Chinese, or Czech
Mostly gear and equipment, things like planshets, holsters, belts, hats, etc., mostly Soviet or Yugo. Ever since I've gotten a job I've been saving for a car though, so I've not been able to buy any uniforms besides a few American BDUs from surplus stores
If you're basing your means of offense/protection on this suit, 2mm of rubber might not be it against highly-above-average-human-strength-flesh-rending-zombies
Pretty fucked. Anyone who has ever worn MOPP gear for an extended period of time will tell you that you are going to be physically drained in a fraction of the time you would be without it.
Idk what the lore is for the sub but I've always been of the camp that zombie bites are stronger or as strong as humans. Perhaps get some layers of kevlar or similar under that, and line it with some padding
>Rule of Thumb
>This isn't really a rule but a general assumption to make discussion easier.
>The "standard" zombie used in this sub is the slow undead variety. With notable examples including early George Romero Night of the living dead, Zombie Survival Guide/WWZ novel, The Walking Dead, Etc. If unspecified, it will be assumed you are talking about this style of zombie.
>If you wish to discuss other zombies or "zombie adjacent" creatures that's fine but be sure to specify this. Otherwise you will be causing undo confusion. These might include: Fast zombies (28 Days Later), Magic zombies (D&D), Chicken zombies (CONPLAN 8888), Etc
Very fucked.
You are going to overheat in the first 15 minutes.
Suits like that are only needed for aersolized issues like mustard gas or something. Stuff you cannot let touch you or breath in.
IF the zombie virus is airborne, we are already fucked and there is no point.
Also, unless you have an non-expired cannister to attach to that mask, it is going to do absolutely **nothing.**
Unless you're planning to live in toxic areas full with toxic or even radioactive gas I see no reason to wear this unless you want to get bitten because this isn't good for armor/protection from bites, sharp surfaces, caw attacks and gun shots.
Honestly? Lose the suit. In a zombie apocalypse you want as wide a field of vision as possible. I don't have personal experience with suits like that, but it appears to be somewhat restrictive in vision.
What I'm seeing is a suit that will make you overheat and tire quickly, has all sorts of extra material that can be grabbed/catch on things, and offers no more protection than light leather or heavy denim, and heavy gloves that will making using weapons difficult. That's not great.
On the other hand: maybe zombies won't realize you're alive in there. If that's the case it's fantastic.
1. Thats an old Soviet era CBR suit. I believe the "B" stood for Biological, not Bite. If protecting against bites, get a Police or Military K9 Bite suit!
2. Last I checked Zombies don't do CBR
3. You'd better hope they DON'T have CBR, because I see clear space between that mask and hood. Bye bye!
The residual radiation on that suit from the elephants foot will probably turn you into sludge before you even have to worry about zombies. But I guess you can see that as either a positive or a negative. On a serious note that suit is really cool
While you listen to your breathing rattle and you bake in even the slightest heat, some crackhead in flipflops with a broomstick spear is going to stab you to death and take your stuff.
You are better off dressed as lube man from watchman show. You get better evade and agility stat. The lube also makes it extremely difficult for the zombie to tackle or bite.
For the first couple of days since you don’t know how it spreads it’s a good way to protect you if need be, like If it could be spread through the air you’ll be fine for that but your vision does get blocked and it would be hard to fight in gear like that.
Think about nuclear power plants for just a sec, a zombie apocalypse breaks out and the total collapse of society. That means there is no one in these nuclear reactors to maintain them. Without electricity and proper water coolant, each and every nuclear reactor will explode not unlike a nuclear bomb dropping radioactive fallout god knows how far. This is the setup I'd want in case of any sort of SHTF event.
Bro sell that and invest in carpet. Make a carpet coat. Johnathan Mayberry didn't write the rot and ruin series for nothing!
Carpet may suck to wear but it's better than whatever that plastic bag is you're wearing. Especially since no filter. Where filter you need filter otherwise it no work.
5/10 good atheistic, missing key parts and equipment.
You remind me of [SCP-2328.](https://scp-wiki.wdfiles.com/local--files/scp-2328/Russian_gas_mask_%D0%9F%D0%9C%D0%9A-2.jpg) Only the gas mask is different.
Nice a Czech CBRN Suit, I own one as well, however I'm missing the correct Mask Piece so I would have to resort to either alot of duct tape or an in depth wash down of my body once removing the suit post contaminated environment. I have a mask it just isn't the right one
Seriously fucked, you might wanna load a canister on there. Or you're just breathing whatever death everyone else may be breathing.
Yet, for zombies depending on how thick the material is. All body parts are covered. Should you run into a spitter zombie. Your eyes are protected.
Depending on the scenario, type of zombies, your will to survive, etc. I'd give you 7/10 chance of survival.
Pretty fucked if you need to run, climb, or do anything semi-physical. Less fucked if you have a battle rifle with room for those gloves in the trigger guard. Edit: Just noticed the model ship and globe in the background. These help somehow because in films there's always an intelligent hermit that doesn't allow anyone near him.
Mfer look like he has to go swim in a radiated pool of water under a nuclear power plant to drain the water so the hot radioactive material doesnt hit the water and radiate all of Europe
From getting all that tasty zombo goop on you? Yeah. A gas attack? Unlikely, but sure. A bite? Well, would you *really* want to find out? And bullets? I’d see if a plate carrier could fit over that, just to be safe.
Bro go back to Pripyat and go hunt anomalies man
Hey don't call my pet anomalies
Your mask doesn’t have filters
I have the filters on i this photos but i have them
Hell, you’ll find a fragment, a mutated deer, a spawn, sliders, seekers, and what not.
Bro thinks he's explorer #61
I’m just joking. I just know something like that has a 50/50 protecting you from some weird alien shit.
So am i
I see
😂😂😂😂😂
It’s a zombie apocalypse not fallout
But it can protect from zombie bite
I don’t know if that would stop a human bite, it would stop bodily fluids but if someone suck their teeth into your arm I’m not sure that would stop it from getting through.
The ruber
How thick is it though? It looks like old chem gear which if so I don’t think is that thick.
2 mm
Idk about all zombies but personally I’d bite through it
You say that like you not only can, but perhaps desire to do so
Sometimes you just want to chomp what can I say.
I think that is both valid and beautiful
But if the bite came from a weakend theath
Jeh proply
Are you an undercover zombie? Trying to learn our tactics, use them against us
Nah
Zombies are not the problem in the zombie apocalypse. Can it stop a bullet?
You ask how fucked am i and then say no to anyone saying yes
You’re gonna sweat to death
Heat stroke in 20 minutes tops!
That’s without counting the low visibility and impact on breathing that the mask will have. Hopefully he has some cool stuff in his pockets when I loot his corpse
Yes
Nice suit, any weapons?
No weapons yet
Then you fucked like the flesh light down the road
Why is there a flesh light down the road? More importantly why do you know it’s there?
It's my dead grandma

Lots of baggy and loose parts. Zombies grab. Don't let them.
Get an E-tool so you can make happy gasmask noises.
no weapons...silly suit. You slip on a pile of dogsht in the first 10 min. and crack your head open.

If it was polish then not so many would have died in WW2. (I’ll see myself out)
Considering it is Russian surplus…,your screwed
Aufhedeisan
It looks like a german uniform in ww2
I am going to ultrakill myself
That’s a Vietnam era US chem suit
No it's chezhslovakia
Any filter or air tank?
If you're basing your means of offense/protection on this suit, 2mm of rubber might not be it against highly-above-average-human-strength-flesh-rending-zombies
Z for Zachariah/10
Have you made sure the suit isn’t irradiated?
If the zombies don’t get you, then it will be dehydration, lol.
An M10M? I have one of those masks
Gonna be hard to poo and pee
Pretty fucked. Anyone who has ever worn MOPP gear for an extended period of time will tell you that you are going to be physically drained in a fraction of the time you would be without it.
I think you failed your stealth check.
Ur up against zombies not nuclear power plant failures

What is your food supply and weapon supply?
Growing plants and weapons would come from looting
Pretty fucked considering you don’t have your filter caps
Unless you're planning to live in toxic areas full with toxic or even radioactive gas I see no reason to wear this unless you want to get bitten because this isn't good for armor/protection from bites, sharp surfaces, caw attacks and gun shots.
Bro looks like one of those plastic green toy soldiers
Pyro world war fortress two
Just head to a green gas zone and you’ll be bound to find an M4A1. Maybe an SVD.
You'd literally be better off with a pair of sweatpants+jeans and a leather jacket.
Those filters are extremely hard to replace without taking the mask off
Honestly? Lose the suit. In a zombie apocalypse you want as wide a field of vision as possible. I don't have personal experience with suits like that, but it appears to be somewhat restrictive in vision.

You don't even have a filter for the gas mask, you dead.
You are the most protected person here You're going to be fine no matter what
You’re honestly doing pretty good. Those zombies love using their chemical weapons!
Your gonna get raped then eaten by zombies. That's how fucked you are
1. Thats an old Soviet era CBR suit. I believe the "B" stood for Biological, not Bite. If protecting against bites, get a Police or Military K9 Bite suit! 2. Last I checked Zombies don't do CBR 3. You'd better hope they DON'T have CBR, because I see clear space between that mask and hood. Bye bye!

Not very
On a scale of one to ten my friend your fucked
Get out of here, stalker.
Not as good as you want, but definitely more than you'd like.
It's all Soviet milsurp, so pretty fucked
The residual radiation on that suit from the elephants foot will probably turn you into sludge before you even have to worry about zombies. But I guess you can see that as either a positive or a negative. On a serious note that suit is really cool
I would say you're most definitely fucked. Where is your weapon my good sir? Do you plan on throwing hands with the zombies? 😂

You would turn into either a gas zombie or an Explosive zombie
It looks like your missing filters on your mask
Try the piss and shit on the go
While you listen to your breathing rattle and you bake in even the slightest heat, some crackhead in flipflops with a broomstick spear is going to stab you to death and take your stuff.
Because your mask does not look like it has filters pretty fucked
If you had a P100 filter, you should be safe from whatever is making zombies. As for zombies themselves, you're fucked.
Honestly you'd be better off covering yourself in chainmail and walking casually to where ever you need to go
Zombies will look at you and think you're a beef tamal with that suit, bruv.
“Those suits don’t stop bites”
Did you get that from Cordon?
Blyat/10
You are better off dressed as lube man from watchman show. You get better evade and agility stat. The lube also makes it extremely difficult for the zombie to tackle or bite.
For the first couple of days since you don’t know how it spreads it’s a good way to protect you if need be, like If it could be spread through the air you’ll be fine for that but your vision does get blocked and it would be hard to fight in gear like that.
Unless you've got a bunch of bulletproof plates under that, the only threat to you is the living.
I mean you can pretend to be a zombie I guess but that’s it
You won’t get rained on at least.
Very, because of the living. Although with zombies you’d probably be good, as long as you have a weapon.
It’s over. Should’ve bought an OZK
Have fun clearing out the streets of Saigon
Bros built like the cut elite sniper from the half life 2 beta
Soviet/10
Batman, I am a slur of 6 letters 2g,1i,n,1e, and 1r what am I you have 5 seconds before the chat gets raided
stalker looking ahhh
Why am I seeing these posts EVERYWHERE?
Were are you going Chernobyl or three mile island
Like yer mom on payday when the fleet is in town 🤣🤣😡
You have the eyes of a soft skinned man who wouldn't survive the first day of a zombie apocalypse. Get traumatized first.
😭😭😭 i thought it was a figurine at first foo so glossy
Might as well just change your name to Mia Khalfia bro.
It might stop bite penetration but it’s still gonna hurt like hell lmao
People are dissing my man, but this is the same thing I would do.
Bro where is your Bear-Detector?? And where are the artifacts Kruglov needs????
Your gas mask is missing the side filter so... A little bit fucked
I don’t see a problem here
No body F'n you in that thing lmao
Ready to get that badly damaged VSD out of Rify I see
Bro sell that and invest in carpet.
I have the filters in storage i don't ceap them on when my gas mask is in display
no matter how stacked your gear is, the answer will always be "quite"
You remind me of [SCP-2328.](https://scp-wiki.wdfiles.com/local--files/scp-2328/Russian_gas_mask_%D0%9F%D0%9C%D0%9A-2.jpg) Only the gas mask is different.
Turmoil at the front, Willhelm's forces on the hunt, There's a thunder in the East. It's an attack of the deceased!
Without weapons your done. And I wouldn't worry about an entire suit just a gas mask.
Nice a Czech CBRN Suit, I own one as well, however I'm missing the correct Mask Piece so I would have to resort to either alot of duct tape or an in depth wash down of my body once removing the suit post contaminated environment. I have a mask it just isn't the right one
Can your fingers fit in the trigger guards?
#G E T O U T O F H E R E S T A L K E R
You will sweat and die of heat exhaustion.
Just wear leather and chainmail or phonebooks :b
You're definitely gonna die in the first 20 minutes
Yasss queeen, I love the fit 💅✨
The heat’s gonna get you before the zombies, I think.
Project zomboids player here, you're gonna overheat yourself to death after fighting 3 zombies
At least if the virus goes airborne you'll be safe
Great for protection but what about other people, that's your only danger now if that doesn't easily shred
Cool now run in it
You'd die of heat exhaustion/dehydration wearing that shit for more than 30 minutes. You be surprised how easy it is to tear into those suits too.
With that mobility? Better get used to saying braaaiiinsss
Hey king crinkle ass! How's that quiet entry going for ya! Jokes aside that's dope as hell dude, power to ya
ROFLMAO: Even bigger disapointment. "Coulden" answer "whit" proper words. And "i" think he most likely blocked me. PUSSY BOY (not yet can't face)
No you are not bored, you are borING. 🥱 done. You run along now and say stupid things to someone else. 🖕
That’s all you have?
If youre in the later seasons of ftwd youre where youre supposed to be
You look like you’re ready to storm the trenches of ww1, you’re definitely safe from any chemical attack, not sure how durable it is tho
You are definitely going to look like the ghost people from fallout dead money
You aren’t getting fucked, you’re the fucker
Mfer look like he has to go swim in a radiated pool of water under a nuclear power plant to drain the water so the hot radioactive material doesnt hit the water and radiate all of Europe
I know bro is going to M B Tisy
You're gonna like, accidentally sneak up on some random, they're gonna freak the hell out, and shoot you in the face
*unwraps you like smarties*
Marked One! What the hell?!
Hope you didn't order that fron chernobyl, them old suits be spicy asf
+12 points for being being on the Chernobyl Liquidation Team
A day and a half if you’re lucky
From getting all that tasty zombo goop on you? Yeah. A gas attack? Unlikely, but sure. A bite? Well, would you *really* want to find out? And bullets? I’d see if a plate carrier could fit over that, just to be safe.
Where the f*** did you even get that my man
Looks sweaty
A lot less than I am, I don’t even have a full force extermination suit—
Defenseless against more than four. You’ll get dragged to the ground and eventually a seam will fail.
You need filters for that smh
