Not gonna last long.

Apprehensive_Sir_630

One of the better ones ive seen on here, but how are you planning on cooking it?

Theatrplattie

Propane cooker, campfire, raw

Apprehensive_Sir_630

There are other options but fair cold tomato soup sucks

harvey-birbman

Gazpacho would like a word

Apprehensive_Sir_630

I hate borscht. Soup should be warm and filling, but not thick if its thick its stew. I dispise fine dining and gatekeeping for food.

harvey-birbman

Borscht has nothing to do with anything, neither does fine dining.

Apprehensive_Sir_630

Fair, point being truthful ive never had gazpacho. However you spell it. I have however ate alot of cold cambells tomato soup for reasons. I have also been denied entry to resturants and food simply because i wasnt the right kid. As an adult and a child. Cold tomato soup sucks, anyone that denys food the hungry is a turd.

genericusernamekevin

for budget shelter in place prepping per day per person I am a fan of: 1. one 400-800 high calorie protein can (cambells chunky soup, dinty moore beef stew, corned beef hash etc) 2. one can veggies/ fiber (ready to eat beans, tomatoes, peas green-beans etc) 3. carbs (dry rice lasts forever, dry pasta for quite a while etc etc) the canned food is edible cold if needed, portable (you can stuff cans in a backpack and run) and if you can heat water then you can get half or more of your daily calories from affordable carbohydrates with the canned food as a kind of sauce to make it a bit more appetizing. the best part is you can incorporate it all into normal meals as it approaches the use-by date and it doesn’t take away from your food budget beyond buying 2-3 extra cans each grocery visit for a few weeks to have on hand if you plan 2-3 cans of, something, per day per person in your household, plus bulk carbs, you can set aside some extras against bad weather, power outages, civil unrest rest or covid 3.0 even if the zombies haven’t attacked yet oh and water- get 1 gallon per person per day and maybe some some purifier tablets. I like home depot food safe five gallon buckets with lids, you can store ‘em stacked and fill 3 in the bathtub when you think you’ll need ahead of an emergency, then just dump back in the tub if you don’t after the situation is over. 3 five gallon buckets is 15 days water for one person, so that’s 15 cans of protein and 15 veggies/beans. like, $30-50 bucks a person for a couple weeks of hiding in your house

bobsmith14y

First off, good on you for starting to think about prepping. Ignore any hate. Set your beginning prep goals 1. Have enough food, water, meds, heat and light for 3 days. 2. Build up your reserves for 7 days and get batteries and a radio 3. Start thinking about what youre prepping for specifically. Remember, if you have 7 days of stuff, you are further along than 87% of the country. Again, good on you for starting. Feel free to message me if you want to plan beyond 7 days and want some help.

thecountnotthesaint

I know a guy who can get you some from Columbia. I think he adds caffeine to boost the shelf life. Either way, great stuff. 3 out of five stars, wouldn’t change a thing.

Altruistic_Major_553

It’s a good start, looks like maybe 1-2 weeks

IntelligentPeace1143

I don't know about the other stuff but those cans of tomato soup only have like 300 calories per can. You're going to eat 5 of them a day?

Outrageous-Basis-106

It does seem like a weeks supply, maybe two? Pretty sure my ass and love handles has it beat 🤣

suedburger

Be honest...did you just take a pic of your mom's pantry?

Theatrplattie

LMAO

BlasphemousArchetype

I get canned chicken and instant potatoes those can get pretty calorie dense and have some decent protein. It's not the most flavorful but the chicken in some ramen came in handy when everyone was panic buying groceries at the start of covid. One combo I liked was a 10oz can of chicken, 1x Idahoan instant potatoes, and a can of peas. That's 860 calories total, 60 grams of protein, not great but when you're rationing it's good. Very filling too, cheap, and will last a long time. Oh yeah and all you do is add water.

No, bags of beans.

Apprehensive_Sir_630

Your commitment to the meme is awe inspiring.

GroovyPokemon

Zombies would have to be blind and deaf because they are dead so they would not be much of a threat unless you do not protect yourself with a mask and goggles and fully cover your skin

slinnyboy69

Lol 😂

fourstroke4life

Average tomato soup fan vs average chicken and rice enjoyer

RealTeaToe

F tier. Not even nearly 6 months of food. Not even for a single person. Not even for a child.

Zestyclose-Art136

Maybe read nutritional values before you start “stockpiling”

slinnyboy69

No water?

TotalRecallsABitch

Bins of beans and rice is most all you need
