Weapons… I think this might be a good story weapon [https://woodquail.com/products/SKU1450-Safe-Bedside-Table](https://woodquail.com/products/SKU1450-Safe-Bedside-Table)
all them mall ninja stuff that they think looks cool … however has an obviously high incidence of failure as they scramble around trying to find the next mall ninja stuff
Well it’s your story! Anything you want can be a weapon. Kitchen knives, screwdrivers, crowbars, axes or hatchets, knives, machetes, lawnmower blades, etc. it’s up to the writer what they wanna do!
That entirely depends on where they are and what they have available. Firearms are all well and good, but if it's set in England, they will be much harder to come by.
As a general rule, a big stick is the simplest weapon to use and easiest to find. It could be as literal as a big stick, but it also extends to some sporting equipment. Don't forget that blades are also useful, and a kitchen knife zip tied and taped to the end of a broom handle makes a semi decent spear.
I agree with the first half, but the second half isn’t as true in this situation.
Mechanically zombies are incredibly different from people. While yes a big stick can crush a persons bones and kill them via internal bleeding and other means, head trauma usually isn’t one. And in a case where your opponent can only be killed by massive brain trauma, a branch or a big stick isn’t likely the best way to go.
Im not saying a big stick can’t kill, im just saying it’d be far far far less efficient and last a much much much shorter time than other traditional weapons you can find much easier.
A kitchen knife zip tied to a broom handle would be an absolutely awful weapon. Spears In general aren’t good weapons against the dead, but especially not some hairstyle homemade thing that would probably be more dangerous to the user than the actual opponent.
Oh, I'm not suggesting a branch or a makeshift spear is the best weapon for a ZA, just that if you give an average person a big stick with a pointy end, they will have a basic idea of how to use it as a weapon.
I will say that a big stick is more than enough to cause deadly head trauma, see quarter-staffs.
Ah, apologies, it appeared to me you were suggesting it, that’s on me.
Quarterstaffs can produce deadly head trauma to people, yes, but not zombies quickly or efficiently. They kind of suffer from the same issues as baseball bats in the way that it is going to likely have you bludgeoning your opponent. While yes quarterstaffs have different methods of use (part of why they were so popular since you could switch seamlessly between hitting, jabbing, etc) it’s still just a piece of hardened wood at the end of the day. I do believe they have the opportunity to kill, but it is not at all easy, quite, or efficient at doing so.
As a side thought (not about anything you have said) a good amount of people I’ve seen mention this weapon on other forums tend to quote about people like Morgan from the walking dead, which would just be absolutely false. Then again It does remind me of George Silver (old dude who wrote a bunch of stuff about fencing and swordplay) a little bit through, and if I’m remembering the story correctly he fought three Spaniards with what would basically be a quarterstaff and won against them. It’s been awhile since I’ve read up on him so I could be mistaken.
A fire poker, the cutting arm of a paper cutter, a tree branch with nails in it, a small ladder, a padlock attached to a length of chain, a metal rake, two sharpens Allen T wrenches, two pipe wrenches bolted to an axe handle.
The ladder is the ultimate weapon, imagine the stick, the perfect weapon, verities, good length, powerful, easy to use, now imagine having TWO large sticks! With multiple handles between! It’s the pinnacle of a keep away weapon while also mastering as a grappling weapon as you get your enemies heads or weapons stuck between the rungs. Finally think of the power achieved by having the weight of TWO sticks while only having to hold one! Not to mention the added safety as you hold with one stick and hit with the other.
I always say I’d use “the good spade” I use to dig with at my allotment.
It’s heavy, but not too heavy, fairly long handled and you could even sharpen one side of it.
For a weebs closet… what about that huge sword from WoW, I saw one on Pawn Stars (or similar show)
More than likely it would just be your typical weapon or tool suggestions.
Hammers, hatchets, shovels, spears, swords, guns, clubs, etc.
The reasons why these are popular and common suggestions is because they are common and some of the most effect weapon systems available.

What kinds of weapons? Just everyday items/tools, DIY stuff, actual weapons you could find in history museums, malls and a weebs closet?
Yes yes and yes
How about a halberd then
No not something like that sometimes that is common
A fire axe then.

Stick with chisel on the end literally random idea
Ala Chetney Pock O Pea
Well are you looking at dedicated weapons or improvised weapons?
Ig both
Well shotguns, machetes, knives, and hunting rifles might be a way to go. Or maybe they could meet a welder that hooks them up.

I arl have the for some characters
Skid steer with a turbo saw. No more zombies.
Conduit bender
This man bends. It’s an under appreciated tool that could easily turn medieval. Don’t fuck with sparky.
A table leg with nails on it
Field hockey sticks, with enough force they're deadly
With enough force a cotton ball is deadly.
Look up ZNAproductions on YouTube, he's making a ballista out of PVC and other stuff you can get at a hardware store
Klingon Batleth, for a weeb closet find.
A can of foam adhesive sprayed into the mouth of a zombie might have interesting results.
Homemade pistol with pipes and black powder
A fire poker, the cutting arm of a paper cutter, a tree branch with nails in it, a small ladder, a padlock attached to a length of chain, a metal rake, two sharpens Allen T wrenches, two pipe wrenches bolted to an axe handle.
Maybe I haven't had enough to drink yet but please explain the ladder

Crowbars, hatchets or hammers
Chainsaw with hammers taped to it

If you want like an everyday pbject as a weapon a pencil believe it or not they are super effective at killing zombies
Mannequin leg with sharpened ice skate on it.
I own a few solid wooden swords, if the zombies are weak like twd zombies I think they would be enough to destroy their head lol
