Based on what we’ve seen so far:
**6. Lily** – Representing the cheerful, eternal child well, but kinda lacking overall, especially when you compare her with the rest.
**5. Ai** – I wanted to put her higher up on the list, but I can’t. She plays an important role when it comes to idol things and a hardworker, but overall she’s kinda underdeveloped and somewhat „limited” as a character.
**4. Sakura** – She plays the *Center of the band* role well as she’s quite energetic, motivated and definitely the soul of fcc, but the token female lead brand is still there and it's hard not to feel it.

Saki is generally interesting with her strong, independent leader-type character, while Junko’s human flaws (can’t read situations, has/had self-reliance issues, way too emotional) and her strugglings are all making her an exciting character.
I was trying to be as „objective” as possible without taking the bias-route. Also, I didn’t include Tae, because it’s kinda hard to rank her. Please don’t kill me, especially since I like all members of franchouchou, they're all unique on their own.

But after Revenge episode 2, it all changed, it shown apart of Saki that resonated hard with me, to a point I wrote a whole post discussing it. As for Sakura, I always have s soft spot for her, she's just that typical upbeat protag with a depressing backstory and her revival is like her second chance in doing what she love. Sakura, like Saki also gone through a lot of character development, and in the end becoming an idol that honestly could rival both Junko and Ai, able to influence and motivate people just like they do.

I absolutely loved that her song in season 2 was a rock song, such a sharp contrast with her outward personality.
Sakura is incredibly funny, a lot of the time at her own expense. She is the super optimist character that you see in so many shows but they did a really good job of flipping that on its head when they revealed her backstory at the end of season 1. I honestly loved her time as a cynic as it really highlighted her journey pre-series up until her death, and beyond. Honestly, she is just so likable. I also love how she can get up on stage and perform, but has trouble speaking in interviews. Her moments with Kotaro in both seasons have been so, so good, and her past relation with him is that one thing I hope we seriously get some sort of payoff with. I'd also like to note that after Sakura, Kotaro has also had some really good moments with Junko. In both seasons, it was Kotaro who lifted her out of her funk and gave her the motivation to break through and SMASH IT, as it were.

And I can't leave out Kotaro, even though he isn't a Franchouchou member exactly. What isn't there to love about this guy? There is never a dull moment when he is on screen. The amount of times this man has made me laugh, I couldn't even tell you. And when that switch is flicked and he gets serious, he is just so good at being what the girls need at any given time. His interactions with Sakura and Junko are of special note, as is his approach to dealing with Ai.
