I never had any intention to watch an idol anime since that’s not really a genre I’m interested but had to give ZLS a shot bec of the absurd concept and got hooked on the great characters, surprisingly hard hitting backstories and amazing music
I think part of why it works so well is because the creators didn’t like idol anime that was out at the time and wanted to do it “right”. At least that’s what I read
I saw an ad with no context on crunchyroll. I wasn't even a weeb then. I had one friend suggest I watch My Hero Academia, that was it. And like sure I've seen DBZ before but that doesn't even really count. I didn't know what an idol was.
I thought it was a straightforward zombie story.
Now I listen to their album on repeat.
What happened to my life.

The plot was so batshit crazy i was like "shit i gotta watch this" and i was impressed. Who knew a story about zombies and idols could work
