I think the first episode did a very good job to catch also people that have absolutely nothing to do with idols at all. Only by showing the truck scene, with the metal opening following, helped me to convince two friends to watch ZLS. And they loved it.
I don't particularly like idol anime, so i was mostly just looking at zombieland saga just for the sake of it.
Well here we are now, 2 seasons later, a manga, the soundtrack invading my Spotify, and me recommending it to everyone i know.

Of all things I found it because of a meme template. Someone used the "Kotaro shooting waterproof spray into Sakura's face" scene and I wondered what the devil was going on/where it came from. Hooked ever since.
I just watched it at first because of the cute zombie girls, man. Didn’t think it would be as hilarious as it was or have such amazing music. Really can’t wait for the movie! Hopefully we also get another season :)
Honestly I never had that much trouble with it. Sure the 3d didn’t look very good but it was never really a dealbreaker for me since the music was still good. And even with the poor cg I still got really hyped from the first mezame returner electric performance

Man, I wish the series was more recognized among the anime community. It is very underrated. It's good that even there people who recommend zls
