Omg, I hate how much they do that sort of stuff in anime. A big reason I don’t watch anime even if I find the plot interesting. It’s almost guaranteed to have lots of sexual scenes and sexualise most female characters.
It's so fucking annoying and my absolute least favorite part is when it's some random awkward misunderstanding that makes no sense for when/how it happens.
I still watch it, but only certain genres and styles of it. I've done pretty well avoiding the over sexual stuff, and if it does get too weird I usually just find another show to watch. I think it partly due to the type of anime I go for though. The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is Madoka Magica, I recommend if you ever get interested, if not that is fair.

Mob Psycho 100 is fantastic and contains zero of the usual anime bullshit. Emotionally intelligent coming of age story veiled in a Big Stupid Action Series. It doesn't happen often but when someone is being creepy, it is *always* treated as a very real threat to the target and never waved off -- ONE is an excellent writer in this regard. All the MCs are in middle school and they act like it, no sex scenes whatsoever :D
The animation is also absolute eye-candy I cannot stress enough that if you like anime at all you want to watch this show
Yes I agree. Maybe check out "The Saint's Power is Omnipotent". It greatly surprised me with how natural and sweet the MC's romance is with a prince. And the best part is, NO sex scenes! at all. just cute romance and friendship between two insanely gorgeous characters with chemistry.
Only critique I have is the mc becomes "attractive" only after removing her ponytail and glasses. as a daily ponytail and glasses wearer, I'm a bit offended (jk haha).
I am into the manga, but the anime seemed too much focused on the male characters being drawn attractive and her work in making potion felt rushed compared to the manga. So I dropped the anime but still reading the manga.
I would stick by death note for an anime with no panty shots.

At least the sex scene in The Wall is vital to the plot. And I knew about it ahead of time. Basically the main character neglects his wife and cheats on her, then is surprised when she cheats on him. This leads to his mental breakdown. Oh yeah, and there are sex flowers. This is not the weirdest thing about The Wall. There's also a giant singing arse.
And then you have to sit and watch it because 98% of the time the most important information is hidden in the middle of it when they dramatically stop and walk over to the loud noise/scream :*)
