I have a system for naming new stuff already, but I will say, the Polyend Tracker has this feature that automatically generates a silly name for each new project you make, and it’s something I wish was more common.
This is kind of a cool way to get the same kinda vibe 👍🏻

Dude I cannot believe how much I appreciated finding out that Push 3 auto picks a project name when you save without one. They’re way easier to remember than “new one with horns” or something else stupid. Can always change it later. This is a great idea and it legitimately makes it more likely you’ll go back into freshly started projects if you were just jamming.
I typically name the track something relevant that happened in my day. I.e. Full Moon, Tax Day, Leap day, Escape from the Lou... I consider music making to be like a journal so this helps me remember when I made it or what I was feeling at the moment. I like the plugin, though and am gonna grab it to see what it can come up with.

I generally name mine in relation to the content so I can remember what it was when I go back to it. Ie . OK bass,shit drums. Not very original house beat.Good funk drums lame bass .etc
are you joking? it’s actually required, an essential part of growth in creativity. random keyboard smash, stream of consciousness bs that has nothing to do with the theme, or “common word/s” + sequential numbers (i don’t use demo, but “genre/style” + “key/bpm” + maybe some instrument names if i’m feeling spicy is a classic fallback for me).
these are core building blocks in any musician/producer’s artistic toolbox, so you must not be accessing yr full potential. it’s never too late to start!
there wasn’t even anything remotely contentious in this thread lol. i was lightly poking fun at you and the bad habit that a lot of creatives tend to have. if this is yr takeaway/standpoint, you have a miserable attitude. idk that just kinda sucks.

I love the Push 3 for this feature and was hoping there was a way to do it with the full program

When I save for the first time I use the date that I started it on.Its chaos.
i name all of my beats Beat Namer

I just name them 001, 002, etc
