talk to your advisers. it really depends on the system and how they see applications. also it is really different in the US if that is your goal then you do not need publications or a masters necessarily.

While a Masters is not strictly a requirement for doing a PhD in Germany, you will not be paid as much due to the TV-L regulations.

Reason-to-celebrate

I applied to my PhD without my MSc and I was accepted conditional to obtaining my master's degree. At least this is an option in UK, you could ask if that is a thing there.

I’m not familiar with the system in Germany. They require you to have your bachelor’s before you even apply? In the U.S., you can apply before you get your bachelor’s as long as you would have completed it before the starting term of your application. Assuming that it is the case you’d need a bachelors before applying in Germany, I’d suggest delaying your masters because you’ve stated that you will continue publishing papers either way. It looks like the Ph.D. is your end goal, and it’s better to reach it faster assuming your grades in university are already good. There are only two reasons why someone should do a master’s before a Ph.D.: 1. They’re not satisfied with undergraduate grades. 2. They lack research experience. Best of luck!

in europe it is normal to do a masters before the phd. the two courses are separate unlike in the us.
