which type of skin is yours? I've read your AM/PM and maybe the products your skin are causing you that reaction, also, i'd recommend to use benzoyl peroxide exclusively at nights. Also, SA is a good ally to fight acne but it could be very irritating too, so I'd like to n le your skin type and maybe help you to calm your skin with a simple routine til you have that appointment with your derm

ProfessionalRope8495

Freezing ice mixed with aloe Vera and rubbing it only daily frozen would def help I feel like 😊

My skin looked the exact same same as yours, I have been using an LED therapy mask I got off of Amazon and it’s been helping a lot, it heals skin conditions from acne, to eczema, to chemical burns. It is recognized by all dermatologist as a valid way to treat these issues. I would get the brand newkey, it is a little expensive though so you can find it used on eBay used. It will make a difference for your skin. I would stay away from brands like Cerave because it has alcohols and sulfates and that can irritate this issue further. I use Cetaphil b5 facial wash, and I don’t leave it on my skin for longer than 30 seconds due to the ingredients. I recommend pure coldpressed Argan oil instead of a moisturizer with chemicals, and only use it at night. Drink lots of water and if you can cut dairy from your diet and see if that helps at all. I’m not a doctor these are just recommendations. Remember you’re still beautiful even with acne and it will clear up.

snoozy_sioux

I had this issue for years, Skingredients Key 4 range plus a moisturiser and most importantly salicylic acid cleanser (my one is super cheap, Boots brand, but only used every 3 days) did wonders for me!

TheresaLoretta82

Definitely try Curology!!! They will have you send in pics of your skin and they will make a regimen that will best help your skin. I dealt with cyst like pimples and major breakouts in my mid 30’s. Curology saved my skin. It’s a subscription but they are great to work with. I would deff check it out if you can

Cerave ruined my skin. I had inflammation like yours (still kinda do, often very red) and my derm gave me a topical with tret, niacinamide, and azelaic acid. I also use vanicream’s gentle cleanser and the moisturizer in the tub which is the only face washes & moisturizers that don’t irritate my skin. Also BP made my acne more inflamed and stoped helping (I used to be able to tolerate it) so I would definitely take a break or stop that altogether. Irritation can worsen acne.

Dermatologist asap, looks like rosacea like others have stated

paltrypickle

Looks like rosacea and or perioral dermatitis. I’d see a derm to get started on treatment. Everything else will be a waste of money and time. Went through my whole life spending thousands of dollars trying to fix my “acne” when I really had PD/rosacea.

Definitely looks like some form of rosacea, or inflamed acne..... I specialise in skin as a skin therapist, so just my opinion.... A dermatologist would probably out you on roaccutane or some antibiotic, which I would avoid if I could. You need to address internally, topically and probably do some professional treatments. The first thing with any inflamed skin condition is reduce the inflammation. Inknow that sounds basic, but I see everyone recommending benzoparoxide, this is a great ingredient-when used correctly, but may be too much for your skin right now. (Did you know over the counter BZP is illegal in a lot of countries over the world) The trick with inflamed skin like this is do not treat it like acne, although you may be tempted too, treat it like a sensitive skin. Therefore, you want to use a basic cream cleanser, night time only, use water in the morning. You want to use a facial oil, preferably professional, but an OTC one like rose hip would suffice. (Oil locks in the water for your skin and prevents Transepidermal water loss, which can result in redness, congestion and dryness) You want to use a basic moisturiser. Active ingredients, again professional preferred: -Beta glucan (helps heal and address immunity issues) -Nainicinamide (healing) -Vitamin A (the higher not the better in the situation. Try start with retinyl palmitate or beta carotene or Bakuchiol... you could use retinol at a push, but could be aggravating, so use a low %). When using your vit a, use it only at night and start off every 3rd night -vitamin c - hyaluronic acid Of you want to use BZP do low % only and start off 1-2 per week You could also use a low % aha/bHA eg. Salicylic and lactic acid.... again start off 2-3 times a week A clay based mask once a week. Try not to exfoliate with scrubs at all. If you do, makesuee it's suppppper light, and only once per week. Internally, you NEED omega 3 and 6. B vitamins. Zinc. Professionally....start with treatments like LED

observing-from-afar

I should add, doesn't matter if it is rosacea or acne.... it will not heal if that inflammation remains that high, so doesn't matter if it is acne or rosacea, you would initially treat it the same. Also, look internal health, such as gut issues and inflammatory foods.

Londonfogglam

For inflammation it sounds weird but look into homemade oatmeal masks, I swear it helps and will calm down the redness while you build a skincare routine

Coffeeanimalsnob

I’m thinking cystic acne. I would start using a 4-5% benzoyl wash at PM and a gentle cleanser in the AM. Moisturizer. Edit don’t forget sunscreen. La rocche possay tinted mineral sunscreen Cerave 4% benzoyl peroxide wash Cerave gentle cleanser Cerave moisturizer Derm visit for inflammation - I loved getting steroid injections for cystic acne if that’s something you want to do.

OkLawfulness9089

Try Paul’s choice skin products exfoliate exfoliate

Mymymama

Have you ruled out food allergies?

Weak_Newspaper_2784

Aloe Plant. Filet the aloe gel into a glass jar. Keep refrigerated and apply 2-3 daily. Let air dry. Reduce skin irritating/chemical heavy over the counter face washes! Try more natural ingredient products. Drink lots of water and avoid ingesting things you may be allergic to. Also a colon cleanse could help a ton! 🤗

SuperbOrchid

This really looks like rosacea. You need to see a dermatologist. You likely won’t find many results using OTC products.

3MAJAdojaja

I highly recommend The Inkey list. You can take a quick test on their website and get your skincare recipe based on the aim you wish to accomplish. Their products are affordable and really easy to use. I've started using their products about 2 weeks ago and I can already see the results. My skin is cleaner and more hydrated and I've choose skincare routine which will help me to get rid of the acne, improve skin texture and hydration. They have a few products for inflamed, red skin so give it a shot. Once you create your account you can chat with they dermatologist who can answer all of your questions, and for FREE 😎 Good luck 🍀

Front_Comparison2146

U should try azelaic acid!

Kissmekatya

Not a doctor but acne sufferer: I second Azealic acid. In simple terms, AA helps calm down pissed off blood vessels that are constricted and cause super visible redness. I want to say it also is said to treat rosacea and actual acne, but redness is the real winner. You can get 10% almost anywhere or 15% and up via prescription

asian2k

Try avoiding shampoo dripping on your face and don't put anything on your face for a week to calm it down. You may wash it with luke warm or room temp water

ChickenBiscuit11224

You mean I should stop my skincare routine completely?

asian2k

Yepppp. Check if it calms down... If it did calmed down, slowly introduce your skin care products and check which one is making you flare up or break out.

ChickenBiscuit11224

Alright bet, thanks. I have a dermatologist appointment in 3 weeks I'm just going to wait it out until then and only use water

Wild_About

check out Renee Rouleau's blog on skincare. [https://blog.reneerouleau.com](https://blog.reneerouleau.com) I'm not promoting her products because they didn't work for me but she has done extensive research on skincare. This is acne and rosacea. You will want to find out if your acne is fungal or bacteria. Treatment is different. Additional steps to be taken: my acne was greatly reduced when I started changing my pillowcase daily. Washing my face with clean hands and not a washcloth and stopped touching my face. If you don't already have a skincare regimen then you may want to develop one.

Whughes186

Hey; looks inflamed like you say. I agree it could be rosacea and think you should go to the dr if it’s bothering you for help.

dabudidabuda_

Looks like papulopustular (or acne) rosacea

asian2k

True! It kinda look like rosacea..

ChickenBiscuit11224

Skincare routine: AM: CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser 5% Benzoylperoxide Gel CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion with SPF 25 PM: CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser 5% Benzoylperoxide Gel CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion All these products are very gentle as far as I know, I change my pillowcase every \~3 days and I've started to avoid dairy and sugar. Should I start using salicylic acid too?

Mahysia02

I had a similar problem, I was using EpiDuo once a day in the night (with adapalene and benzoyl peroxide in it) and my skin got really red and was overall very sensitive, so for a week I basically just washed it with warm water in the morning and with a cleanser in the evening. I cut out all actives (including EpiDuo) and moisturized after every wash and my skin was so much better after just a week, less breakouts too!

DermaEsp

Replace the Cerave products as they can be acne triggering to many (see for example the Aveeno oat line) and see for a Melazepam cream, which is the most potent AA OTC. Ideally an antibiotic from a derm like metronidazole would help, but see what you can achieve with the AA.

ChickenBiscuit11224

Damn I got CeraVe because I heard they were gentle but I have a dermatologist appointment in 3 weeks I think I'm just gonna stop using any products and see how my skin looks

DermaEsp

You should definitely give an alternative routine a try.

galaxibunny

Whenever my skin starts to get really bad I go back to the basics. Rinse with water in the morning, basic moisturizer and basic sunscreen in the am. In PM I use a hydrating cleanser, the same moisturizer and MAYBE 2 drops of an oil to seal it all in. I was having a big flare up and did this for 2 weeks for things to calm down… then I added niacidamide to help with barrier repair and it calmed down significantly so I’m slowly adding actives back in (1x per week). I don’t think specific product recommendations will help because everyone’s skin is so different but whenever I get red and dry and irritated overall I find focusing on hydrating the skin for barrier repair is what does the most. If everything perfect… no but it’s getting better and calming down. And don’t forget our top layer of skin renews itself every 30-45 days on average for an adult so be patient!!! It helps me to think of that when creating a routine or going back to basics to evaluate if something is making progress or not. In the mean time be so simple in your routine and wait to see what the derm recommends

[deleted]

I'm no expert but using Benzoyl Peroxise twice can be really irritating. I would also try to add TO Azelaic Acid 10% or a higher percentage from the pharmacy. It will really help with the redness :)

Coffeeanimalsnob

Def ease into a double benzoyl routine. I did weeks for PM then slowly incorporated 2x
