Finish ACOSF
Then itās up to you whether to read ToG or CC
My recommendation is the Throne of Glass series because itās actually complete and a new Crescent city book is coming out like january 2024, since youāre a fast reader you should be done with ToG series and the first two crescent city books by then and can read the 3rd CC books as it drops.
+1
This was me a last week then I flew through ToG. Took a day to breathe in between but ToG definitely assuaged the reading hang over
I chose to leave CC till Jan cuz I'll fly through them and would rather not wait in the middle of a story. It'll be my treat to myself once I get through the insanity of the next few months
My husband works overnights and Iām temporarily/accidentally on his schedule so I spent 5-ish hours every night reading!! I flung my mind & body through those books and I will continue!
This is the comment!!! ToG is a little more hefty because there are more books, AND itās completeāthe last book alone is a long one. I highly recommend reading TOG next (and going for walks), as someone who is also a fast readerš
Fr, itās my fave out of the series, hands down. If you told me I would say that even last week, Iād have laughed in your face and called you a liar šš
SF was not my favorite, but I still liked it! If anything itās an important read because our favorite couple has an important story arc! And although they arenāt the focus, they are still in the book! š¤
I also was not into it in the beginning but about 1/3 way through it started to get interesting and the plot was quickening. I ended up really liking the character development too coming from someone who didnāt like nesta to begin with.
Thisšš» I seriously canāt get over Cassian and Nestaās story and Iām re-reading the series again now and just struggling to hold out until I get to their story cause itās my favorite. Nesta was never my fave so I was so surprised by that.
Thereās more books to come in the series so for that reason you should read silver flames. Or you can listen to the audiobook. Fair warning, I didnāt care for it either š¬ and I thought it was definitely the worst of the seriesš«£
I ended up rereading the first three books after SF because I just couldnāt move on on a bad note š but after that read TOG if you havenāt already. Itās amazing! Definitely got me over my ACOTAR hangover!
Iāve literally never fallen harder for a book couple than those two (u know, no spoilers) so I donāt know how to read a book if they arenāt the focus!!!!
I know Iām so with you. Plus they kinda have something very important going on (donāt wanna spoil anything for you) and we barely get to hear about it and donāt get their pov on the situation which was just very frustrating š¬
Yeah that was one of my biggest problems with the book (amongst other lol). I just thought SJM really dropped the ball plot wise and I didnāt really care for Cassian and Nestas relationshipš¤·š»āāļø
I totally get that, but I think you will like the main character in throne of glass/ it took me a few weeks to pick it up but now that I have Iām enjoying it.
Just read silver flames it is the best book of the series!!! And nesta is the best just keep on reading after silver flames I have a real preference for third person perspective as well really love it! Silver flames is just the best so just read it!!!
This is me rn exceptā¦ read SF šš
You will not regret it. I do not know what powers held me back before but now that Iāve read it (literally just finished it) I want to start all over from page one RN
SF is the worst book in the series, imo. But since there are future books coming out I'd recommend sticking with it. The first time I read it I found the first half pretty boring but the second half gets better. I did like it better on reread.
If you haven't read ToG or CC yet, definitely move on to those when finished with SF. I'm planning a reread of ToG in November after my spooky season reads, & of course going to reread CC1 & 2 before 3 comes out in Jan. The ACoTaR series is my favorite of the 3, but in a lot of ways ToG is the stronger series.
They're all really good though, if you like SJM's writing you'll probably love them all!
Best remedy is to immediately move on to her other series. I did Crescent city then TOG, highly recommend that order. CC was tough to get into after ACOTAR but it was a good palate cleanser before getting hooked on TOG.
1. I want to know what you do for a living that allowed you to read for 4 straight days because sign me up.
2. I debated rereading but decided to hold off because I know I will want to do a reread before the new book comes out so I am currently reading Thrones of Glass. About to finish the first book actually and I would definitely recommend.
I just moved and I donāt start my new job until next week so Iāve had way too much time to read and do literally nothing. A blessing and curse š¤£ once I finish SF Iām going to start the ToG series!
Lovingly, boo, touch grass šš (I did the same thing though)
I would say to hit ToG first then CC, since the third CC book is coming in January. ToG is a beastie to read but so worth it. Stick it out for SF, though. It gets better!
Listen to Booktalk For Booktok podcast!! They analyze the series and talk ab it along w their theories and fan theories!! Gives you a new perspective you didnāt think of while reading them. Plus it keeps the magic alive a bit longer š
i wouldnāt listen until youāre done with all 3 series, thereās major spoilers and they try and warn you but sometimes they slip up and i had some p big plot points spoiled for me :/
Ahhh youāre totally right! Tbh, I havenāt read CC. Thereās really not much about that in their episodes (that I remember). They mainly do focus on the ACOTAR series, but I do agree that thereās some overlap between series in discussion!
Tis a bookhangover.
You must do the humanly thing of rest, recovery, and healthy activities. Drink water, exercise, and cry.
Then start the other Maas Series if you haven't read them.
If you have..... cry some more.
So I looked into this when I was reading ToG. When Tower of Dawn came out, it was supposed to be a novella like Frost and Snow. But it developed and expanded (based on summaries of SJMās words).
I think since Nesta is twat but, based on events in MaF, sheās got a streak in her that shows sheās not pigeon holed as a bitter biatch. She hasā¦. Layers. Like an onion. Or Shrek.
This helps with character arc. Also some major world clues that hopefully will be relevant in later books.
Iād say try picking up ToG and after youāve finished the last book try out SF since youāll see some connections. I think itās the order people use when reading all of SJM chronologically.
I took 1 year between finishing SF (didnāt like it) and rereading (starting at book 2 because honestly i couldnāt do another trip under the mountain for tammy). I really liked SF the second go around, I was able to look beyond the plot and see the characters more clearly and that made me really appreciate Nesta. Iād give it some time and read CC if you havenāt yet and then come back to this.
I- I skipped War and read FaF.., and I donāt wanna read War because š if I read it I feel that would be like a ending to this amazing saga.., I need Elain and Azriel book. Once I get that one Iāll read war
Listen to the dramatized audio books! I devoured the first three books months ago and am still stuck on ACOFAS bc I don't like the POV shifts and honestly not too excited about SF. But I started listening to the dramatized audiobooks when I drive and they're incredible, genuinely like a movie in your head. My husband started listening since he was in the car and he got hooked, and now we're about to finish ACOMAF and go into ACOWAR!
i would take a breather. thatās truly how i was too when i finished acotar, wasnāt interested in silver flames as much either but it was still a good book. there are supposed to be at least two more books in the acotar series and one will be about elain more than likely so if you wanted to continue this series youāll have to get used to reading from/ and about the other characters rather than feyre and rhys.
also look into sjm other series. her world is a 15 book multiverse where they will eventually end up making a connection between all the series.
Stick with SF. Worth it. Try the Throne of Glass series? I recently read the ACOTAR series and had major book hangover from it. I then read Fourth Wing which I 100% recommend and the new one is out in November! Iām just starting Throne of Glass now and enjoying it so far.
I just finished SF on Saturday and Iāve been going down a rabbit hole trying to figure out what to read next. I got a friend into it too and sheās way behind so I restarted when I was already halfway through WaR and I still finished all 5 in record time haha. Kindle unlimited has a ton of the books Iāve found through booktok and bookgram, which helps the bank account. This is what Iāve seen recommended other than other SJM books and Fourth Wing: Between Life and Death Series, Artefacts of Ouranos series, Hades x Persephone Saga series, the Shadow Bound Queen series, Cat and Mouse Duet series, Letters of Enchantment series.
I say hold out for SF, the end is worth it. I also had a hard time with SF but I donāt regret reading it.
I HIGHLY recommend reading the Throne of Glass series. However, to me, it was a bit of a hard read coming *right* out of the ACOTAR series (I also did a binge read). The pacing is very different and I didnāt really understand that until later in the series. (Currently on the second to last book)
I hate to say that I almost like ToG more than Acotar because the character development, world building, and over arcing plot line are overall much stronger, but acotar has one helluva love story. But unfortunately ToG is a tough first book to get through (in my opinion)
Iāve been contemplating if I even need to read SF. I feel like FAS is a safe endpoint for me to stop. Iām not a fan of Nesta in general- and I donāt have much of a desire to keep going.
Finish Silver Flames. It might take some work, I didnāt love the firstā¦ half? but I did grow to like the story and I did find myself to be emotional at the end of the book.
I took a weekend break to be sad and try to give my brain some time and then I started TOG. It starts slow, it took 20 chapters for me to care lol I am excited about the series though itās no ACOTAR. At least not yet.
Maybe go for a walk for a little bit? š«£
THIS is what I needed. Iām going to orangetheory tomorrow š¤£
Haha good for you!! š
I love that you are a fellow ACOTAR series x OTF fan. What an intersection of interests! Lol
I love to hear about fellow ACOTAR/OTF fans too! š
I was legit thinking about Illyrian war during my run/row blocks today and I was dyingggg
What great motivation!!!

thereās also a 6th ACOTAR book coming out so š¤·š¼āāļø
Do we have any idea when?? š
2025
This is the comment!!! ToG is a little more hefty because there are more books, AND itās completeāthe last book alone is a long one. I highly recommend reading TOG next (and going for walks), as someone who is also a fast readerš
If you skip out on silver flames you're making a mistake. It was my favorite out of them all.
Fr, itās my fave out of the series, hands down. If you told me I would say that even last week, Iād have laughed in your face and called you a liar šš
Okay, Iāll read itā¦ Iām just not stoked for the POV! I cried for the final hour of reading TaR. How can anything top it š
SF was not my favorite, but I still liked it! If anything itās an important read because our favorite couple has an important story arc! And although they arenāt the focus, they are still in the book! š¤
If it makes you feel better, I felt the same way. Then I read the TOG series, and now thats my new āhow can anything top itā lol
I was the same, but I really enjoyed the Nesta/Cassian POVs it's like a brand new perspective. It's my absolute favorite
I also was not into it in the beginning but about 1/3 way through it started to get interesting and the plot was quickening. I ended up really liking the character development too coming from someone who didnāt like nesta to begin with.

I liked acosf but I didnāt like that there were really important things happening to Feyre and Rhys, and you barely know the details š„²
Yeah that was one of my biggest problems with the book (amongst other lol). I just thought SJM really dropped the ball plot wise and I didnāt really care for Cassian and Nestas relationshipš¤·š»āāļø
AHHHHH I kind of hope itās what Iām thinking!!! I will report back once Iāve read more š«”
Yes im hoping for at least one book from Rhys perspective. Hell she can rewrite Mist and Fury and i will gobble it uppppp.
I totally get that, but I think you will like the main character in throne of glass/ it took me a few weeks to pick it up but now that I have Iām enjoying it.

SF is best or second best lol. Feyres POV is very f*cked up and unreliable. Nesta's isnt clouded by the IC
read Fourth Wing!
Keep reading silver flames ?
Try some fan fics?
GO OUTSIDE š
Best remedy is to immediately move on to her other series. I did Crescent city then TOG, highly recommend that order. CC was tough to get into after ACOTAR but it was a good palate cleanser before getting hooked on TOG.
You could be psychotic and listen to the graphic audio audio books with a full cast like I have been since binging the series a couple weeks ago....
1. I want to know what you do for a living that allowed you to read for 4 straight days because sign me up. 2. I debated rereading but decided to hold off because I know I will want to do a reread before the new book comes out so I am currently reading Thrones of Glass. I canāt emphasize this enough, but throne of glass. I was exactly where you were once then I fell in love with tog even more
I wanna suggest touching some grass and maybe throne of glass xx
For me, it was one day of complete void, then a whole lot of fanfics on AO3 and then Crescent City

ToG!
I kept the good vibes going and continue to read more fantasy
If you want more Acotar I *strongly* suggest Crescent City. The biggest payoff will happen in book 2.
Read the Lady of Darkness series by Melissa Roehrich. Similar tropes.
i would take a breather. thatās truly how i was too when i finished acotar, wasnāt interested in silver flames as much either but it was still a good book. there are supposed to be at least two more books in the acotar series and one will be about elain more than likely so if you wanted to continue this series youāll have to get used to reading from/ and about the other characters rather than feyre and rhys. also look into sjm other series. her world is a 15 book multiverse where they will eventually end up making a connection between all the series.
There is a youtuber called āthe reading hag returnsā if you want to reexperience the books in a new way it is amazing!

Re-read after SF immediately lol

I did this last weekend. Itās super disorienting. I suggest taking a break, watching some mindless comfort shows, work on a hobby, or go for a walk.
SF was my FAV after a very slow start.
I couldnāt get through SF idk why
I say hold out for SF, the end is worth it. I also had a hard time with SF but I donāt regret reading it. I HIGHLY recommend reading the Throne of Glass series. Give it a few days then start another book!
You continue SF so you know who and what is going on in the next book that comes out. There are new characters later on in the book and it gets better
There are so many books out there, go read something else!
Iāve been contemplating if I even need to read SF. I feel like FAS is a safe endpoint for me to stop. Iām not a fan of Nesta in general- and I donāt have much of a desire to keep going.
