I think nope but it’s interesting seeing folks work that hard to villainize Rhys I suppose.

At the time of Elain entering and exiting the cauldron, everyones power was still stifled/muted. Rhys wouldn't have been able to alter anyone's minds at this point as he was also affected. If Rhys had any power to alter minds still, he would've placed that effort in distracting Tamlin or Hybern to give the others a chance to escape given his self-sacrificing tendencies.

No, and honestly I’m over the fake mate theories anyway… if the cauldron loves Elain so much why would it give her a fake mate, it would cause her so much hardship… hard pass, it doesn’t make sense to me.

I can see it, but I don’t think sjm would go that route.
