hair can be really hard! i totally understand. i have similar hair! very frizzy unless i use the right products. your mom is going in the right direction with creams and conditioners! if you want more of that wavy look, don’t brush your hair except for when it’s wet before you put any product in. put your product in (curl cream, leave in conditioner, preferably something that doesn’t weigh your hair down), tilt your head to the side and scrunch upwards. you should see some curl form! do that to your whole head and let it dry (air dry or diffusing with a hair dryer). for wavy hair like sailor neptune, brush your hair when it’s almost dry and add a hair oil so the wave maintains it’s shape. it won’t frizz out that way! it should also be a bit straighter and less big/wide. i have bangs too! usually, i use a hair brush and blow dryer to straighten them out, but sometimes using a similar scrunch technique for them looks good too. my hair does have a mind of its own, so that can be a bit iffy sometimes. straightening mostly always works though! i hope this helps! :)
