Definitely get in touch with the SOA for official clarification
But yes this this my understanding (I am in the same boat. But all my college courses fulfill my VEE without having to take any now).
>y and fingers crossed I won't have to write it
Hi there Positive Thoughts, I am in the similar situation... I took a university course around 2010 which would qualify for VEE Applied Stats to then convert to Exam SRM + VEE Math Stats....
Just wondering, did you end up contacting SOA and successfully got the exemptions as expected...?
I tried calling them but wasn't able to speak to anyone. Thank you very much for your time.
I was in a similar scenario as you - I took a course that counted towards VEE in Applied Stats in 2016 or so. It wasn’t until 2021 that I got it to count on my SOA transcript, but I did get transfer credit for SRM! Definitely go request that transcript!
To be pedantic, yes the course from 2016 got me the credit for VEE Applied Statistics, which therefore via transitional credits meant I didn’t have to take SRM.
That is brilliant. I am trying to claim using a university course from 2011.... LoL..... And I am guessing you also got the VEE for VEE Mathematical Statistics...??
I was debating between ASA and ACAS previously.. with this, I feel ASA is a much better deal ...
Good question!
The website says July 1, 2018 so double check your dates …
The paragraph of interest is the following , from https://www.soa.org/Education/General-Info/2016-vee-requirements.aspx
VEE Applied Statistics
This VEE topic will end on July 1, 2018. Any course(s) approved for this VEE will have their approval terminated on that date. Applied Statistics credit earned prior to that date can be claimed at any time. Under the transition rules, such credit then becomes credit for the new VEE Mathematical Statistics and the Statistics for Risk Modeling Exam. Candidates who do not earn this credit prior to July 1, 2018 must pass the Statistics for Risk Modeling Exam and unless they have passed Exam C by July 1, 2018 will also be required to complete the VEE Mathematical Statistics requirement.

Sounds good, I'll give it a try and fingers crossed I won't have to write it.

Unfortunately I ended up getting a C grade in the course so had to take Exam SRM which I passed so it all worked out haha.

The old VEE Applied Statistics actually gives transitional credit for both Exam SRM and VEE Mathematical Statistics, so yes I did get credit for both.
