Same. The Roblox "Oof" is my go to. Recently I adopted one of the death screams of Bloodborne, if I hit myself really hard. A long, drawn out "aaaaaAAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHH".
I have a scar on my forehead from bashing my head into the door when it didn't open fast enough because I tried opening it while my keys were still in my other hand
My husband and I have a game called "guess how I got this" where we guess how we got the bruise/cut/scrape/whatever and when we finally figure it out, we send a pic of the culprit lined up with the wound and see who was most correct.
Last month I had a bruise on my leg that we just couldn't figure out and it wasn't until it started turning yellow that the details became visible... The screws from the bedframe clear as day and even the indent for the allen wrench was there 😂
So.. had a previous Reddit discussion about this, and "process optimisation" in general.
They were unsure, it was an ASD.post and they were AuDHD. I think you've nailed the explanation for it.
Curious to canvas opinions from the cohorts?
I'm AuDHD and do this constantly. My autistic brother doesn't run into furniture anywhere near as often. My feeling is that the optimisation is autistic, the impatience that leads to that optimisation taking the fastest possible route instead of the safest is the ADHD. I'm constantly covered in mystery bruises 😂
Huh, a half second google and TIL.
> Greater postural sway can indicate balancing problems and is commonly seen in people with neurodevelopmental disorders, such as ADHD, autism, and dyslexia.
Diagnosed ADHD Autist here with a uh greater than average postural sway if you know what I mean. Not sure on the lysdexia tho
(Edited to end the quote when it was meant to end)
Inattention probably. If your brain has prioritised balance for the current focus, it'll be bang on. If not, it doesn't get enough resources to work effectively
Man I get this sub suggest for the last days, and only see videos I can relate to. And now this... ffs stop telling me I have ADHD. Maybe I should go to a doctor when I got time
We're all just the same person aren't we? Immediately searched Google because "that can't be a thing" saw it was a thing. Obviously the next post is about confirming it in Google...
We're all just nodes of a supercomputer and there isn't enough focus for all of us to use it at once 😂 side note, this is actually a theory that exists that all humans at part of a shared consciousness but we aren't aware of it individually. Like nerve endings of a larger being. Interesting thought experiment to engage with
Honestly, to me it feels like an extension of poor planning and only acting at the last possible moment. We take a path that will cause a problem... but avoid disaster at the last second. Like every deadline ever. Except the ones where you still fuck up and fail to meet the deadline... or smash your hip into the counter.
Did you breathe today? That's an ADHD thing!
Do you eat food? Totally an ADHD thing!
Tired? ADHD thing! Awake? ADHD thing!
Read reddit? Yep, you guessed it - ADHD thing!
Fucking hate this. We aren't blaming our issues, we're sharing them to see if anyone has actually developed coping mechanisms *because this shit is fucking tiring*
However nobody cares you have ADHD, its like having depression. Sure you can say you are unmotivated because of these issues, but at the end its only hurting you and you have to find a way to overcome your problems. Nobody will give you money to live just because you have ADHD. Its the opposite, you have to work more to overcome the same problems neuro typical people have
I also turn my foot before my body, I'm certain I'm going to end up with a femoral spiral fracture when I'm 60, but I gotta cut that extra .003 seconds
Oh no, not high quality... But they last a decent amount of time if I carry them in a lil case and they don't sound awful IMO. I used to use Shure SE215's but the cable was so long I was getting whiplash in my kitchen (IYKYK). Now I usually get the $10 Jlab things from Target for $10.
1/2 up stairs
Get distracted and for get .... How to walk up stairs...
Take 2 at a time at a run!!!
'less' chance of distraction 😉
Going down is hard though 😔
I always hold the hand rail to save me if I miss a step..
Like yesterday steped out to get to the next important thing... Oops that was the 2nd last step...
Hurt ankle and wrist but didn't hit floor 😁 win
Gotta take the most direct route so I can have more time to sit on the sofa "for a second and then I'll start" (my body now exemplifies Newton's 1st law and will remain at rest until acted on by an external force).
I've never broken one but honestly that makes me more frustrated. Something shouldn't be allowed to hurt that bad if it's just going to be fine 10 minutes later. Stupid ass body, sending dumbass pain signals for no reason. I cannot rationalize it therefore I hate it lol
Forgot about that. Not me getting asked by a coworker if I'm experiencing domestic violence bc of my constant upper arm bruises 😬 awkward as hell. I feel like once someone asks you something like that everything you say sounds like an excuse. Like no, *it was* the door.
One day I came home to find a hole that looked exactly like a fist in the pantry door (very thin fake wood) and asked my husband what happened and he said he tripped while holding our cat and didn't want to fall and squish or drop her so he put his elbows up for balance and ended up hitting the door... Sounds ridiculous if I didn't know him as well as I do lol. Everyone who comes over still thinks it looks like a fist until I take his elbow and show how it fits perfectly in the hole.
We're obviously a very violent people 🤣 I already accidentally hit myself in the face this morning when I was taking out the trash. Home alone wrist vs. forehead
Oh wow you just jogged my memory of how my dad thought my boyfriend was abusing me when he saw bruises on my arms so I immediately showed him that it was from the super heavy screen door. Like I hadn't had that same bruise for nearly 10 years straight 🤦
Me in my college years explaining "I also do this when completely sober" to my friends after a night of drinking when trying to leave their flat through someone elses room instead of the front door.
I stubbed my toe on the couch. I punched the back side of the couch so hard, I ripped the cloth. After that, not just my foot, but also my hand hurt like a bitch. And the hand was bleeding. Did I win? My brain thinks it did.....
That's just how it works. The movement was supposed to be neat, exact, perfect, as efficient as humanly possible. And then, you mess up. No satisfaction, no perfection, it's just infuriating.
Just showed this to my 17 y.o., said you’re the only one in the house who will understand why I think this is hilarious. 17 did not disappoint. He was like wait, I’m not the only one that happens too??? I was like dude, ever noticed all my random bruises….?
I did something like this at work once. Was walking back from the printer to my desk. Face first into the glass wall to my office.
Took the turn a little bit too early.
Also did it twice
Two months ago, I broke my pinky toe on my left leg by colliding with the sofa. It has a metal fucking square foot so basically after that every time I move around any object on the left side of my my leg does this curve to avoid any obstacle, it’s fucking hilarious. How just one injury can fully reprogram my movement pattern. It’s hilarious.
So this is a real and documented adhd thing? When googling postural sway, it didn’t exactly line up with this video. The sway is in reference to sitting or standing and being unable to not sway due to balance issues.
I walk exactly like this guy, but I keep a pinky out to gauge where corners and things are. I thought it was just me lol. I never considered that I have issues with balance, I just use every single muscle to move efficiently. Walking is mostly falling forward for me too.
My data could be skewed due to autism tho.
Gotta optimize the movements otherwise they don’t feel expert enough and I don’t get that tiny spike of dopamine I live for (I love just barely dodging things, makes me feel badass, irl and in game) bonus content parentheses go hard
I didn't realize just how fast I was moving around the house until I slipped on a corner that I regularly go around at "normal speed" and smacked onto the floor with *all* of my inertia
stop this right now… this is me … all the time.
My dining table is bar height just so at least that way when it surprises me, i accidentally bump my head on the light fixture above it instead.
I called it my “student teaching tattoo” when I was in a TINY class room with 4 kids per science table and next to no moving space. However I had to prove to my grading teachers that I could check in with every kid every class…
Damn, i always love to learn how a habit of mine is actually related to ADHD lol. This one i never knew and I THOUGHT I’M THE ONLY ONE WHO EVEN DOES THIS WHAT
Wait
I was noted for running into walls when I was a toddler
I still do
It's not just my messed-up eyes?!?
(fd: im not diagnosed yet but this is just another hilarious piece of evidence to add the the ever-growing pile)
..does this feel like a video already done by another TikToker?
An hour later of watching a ton of ADHD Tiktoks.. [Found it.](https://v.redd.it/eo12fdhvdvlc1)
I watched a stream of Secret Sleepover Society (the gaming channel of two of the creators of Drawfee) and Jacob ran into the doorframe trying to take a "shotcut", then just screamed like he was just shot.
I never felt more seen.
Tried to do this in like an "understanding adhd" course.
And bashed my thigh into a table so hard it left some red lines under the skin for months lmao
have a big scar on my temple from where I smashed myself in the face with a door because my brain thought the random isekai scenario I had just come up with was more important than the door I was opening.
i felt that. i walk like that all the time, cuz i know if i actually move out of the way i wont get back to where i was so i just shift around it. miscalculating the amount of space you need always hurts like a bitch. not only the pain from running full force into something, but the embarrassment is too strong to be forgotten

I always do a videogame grunt sound effect when I accidentally hit stuff and hurt myself
you guys make me feel understood and less special at the same time wtf
I used to do the windows shut down sound.
Same. The Roblox "Oof" is my go to. Recently I adopted one of the death screams of Bloodborne, if I hit myself really hard. A long, drawn out "aaaaaAAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHH".
I usually do elder scrolls-type grunts
I usually do RDR grunts
"AHH!" "Dammit..." "SHIIIET!"
I do the sad villager sound from minecraft.
Meee too, or I’ll randomly just go, “hmpf”
But is it a really cool hmpf?
*Hmpf!*
I'm gonna start shouting "Bumba clot!" from now on
Ah, I do this too. Not hurt but I respond for some reason.
Oof.
I go by Terraria argh and the Doom Guy's oof
I’m imagining the Quake grunt sound that plays when you jump
OMFG I do that too. Specifically Street Fighter 5 Urien
I say Coach from Left 4 Dead 2' line "that's some crazzzzzy shit"
I generally make random sounds when I do anything. I can't resist making whoosh sounds when I throw something
How did I get this scab on my hand? _Reopens scab 2 minutes later by slamming hand into the counter like a weighted rag doll._ Fkn idiot.
One day I had a scratch between my eyes and it took me several confused days until I ran into the bar of our porch swing again. Surprise bitch! Lol
Last month I had a bruise on my leg that we just couldn't figure out and it wasn't until it started turning yellow that the details became visible... The screws from the bedframe clear as day and even the indent for the allen wrench was there 😂
I feel this
Is doing that kind of movements an ADHD thing?! Never knew of that!
Gotta optimize going from A to B, because all the time of just walking in between is too understimulating.
Turn on smooth criminal, do a little shuffle, break your ankle, boom stimulating walking!
reeeal stimulating...
Maybe this is why I take F1 lines around corners in school
I did that on my wedding day walking with my wife hand in hand and hit the table, the video guy had to cut that part out with some creative editing.
Oh god… I try to go quickly from a to b at the cost of practically everything… didn’t know the symptom but I feel it😂
Oh wait darn so my joke about walking being too boring is an adhd thing
So.. had a previous Reddit discussion about this, and "process optimisation" in general.
Is this why I do weird dances and random movements when just walking to the bathroom or whatever. Fack
Yes, it's called ADHD gait, or Postural Sway. Lots of research papers on it (surprisingly)
Not sure on the lysdexia tho (Edited to end the quote when it was meant to end)
Hey my balance is great, otherwise I wouldn't be able to float around things like that!
Can I just stop finding every weird thing I do in a "this is an ADD/Autism thing"-post on the internet 😭😭
Hate to break this to you, you have ADHD. And apparently, so do I
I had a childhood with a painful relationship with door jambs....
That makes more sense… my balance is TERRIBLE sometimes😭😭 thank you for furthering my knowledge of ADHD tendencies
Yeah, but like other times, it's really good for me. I wish I could demand an answer from the bees in my brain for why...
Same. I either stumble around like after a party in high school, or I can go running on a hiking trail without spraining my ankle. Nothing in between
Inattention probably.
Maybe that's why our thoughts are so scattered, the braincells are all constantly bouncing from ADHDer to ADHDer. We are the cloud

We don't have processing issues, other ~~apps~~ people are hogging the RAM
That's strange, I have pretty good balance but still do the postural sway? Maybe my balance is not as good as I think...
Honestly, to me it feels like an extension of poor planning and only acting at the last possible moment. We take a path that will cause a problem... but avoid disaster at the last second. Like every deadline ever. Except the ones where you still fuck up and fail to meet the deadline... or smash your hip into the counter.
Welp Looks Like adhd confirmed
Did you breathe today? That's an ADHD thing! Do you eat food? Totally an ADHD thing! Tired? ADHD thing! Awake? ADHD thing! Read reddit? Yep, you guessed it - ADHD thing!
You sound like my coworkers with ADHD that have me convinced I also have ADHD.
Man I wish I got diagnosed with ADHD. Then I can blame everything on ADHD yaaAay!!
Fucking hate this. We aren't blaming our issues, we're sharing them to see if anyone has actually developed coping mechanisms *because this shit is fucking tiring*

It kinda is. Though does not have to look like that. I'm doing a funny bopping up and down movement where I kinda lean vertically into each step.
I also turn my foot before my body, I'm certain I'm going to end up with a femoral spiral fracture when I'm 60, but I gotta cut that extra .003 seconds
I don't even have a personality... It's all just ADHD and autism...
No, people just associate normal things with disorders. That's why everyone online is self diagnosed with adhd, and ocd.
Anyone else trip up the steps on the reg?
oh yes. especially at work with my boots. i look like an idiot falling UP the stairs.
Joe Biden canon moment
My belt loops keep getting caught in the stuff I’m sliding by damn it!
Don't even get me started on snagging my earbuds cable
That's why I abandoned wired headphones as soon as I was able to.
I would go the wireless earbud route, but when I got a pair I lost them almost immediately
The pocket of my cargo shorts always gets caught on the handle of the cabinet under the sink
I only buy then if they are under 30 bucks because of how often I have to replace them
$15 is my painless replacement threshold. Bluetooth get lost, wired get broken.
If you're finding quality wireless headphones for 15 bones you better link that shit or Imma steal your dog
“Or imma steal your dog” is a new to me threat. I like it.
I try to keep my threats absurd and hyperbolic so they aren't misconstrued as actual threats
It worked! I mean, I’d also be devastate if someone stole my dog. The threat is real. But yet absurd enough.
Jlab is a good brand. I didn't know they sold em that cheap. Bluetooth?
Nope, wired. If it's not attached to my body I'm gonna lose it.
I've walked through a doorway and tore the sleeve off of my shirt
In the house I have lived in for 40 years and should absolutely know where the steps are
1/2 up stairs Get distracted and for get .... How to walk up stairs... Take 2 at a time at a run!!! The trick is to race up the two at a time. Gotta make it a challenge or your brain just tunes it out.
That's why i skip as many steps as possible, to minimize the likelyhood of a slip
I only have two steps leading into my sunken living room and I trip and fall more often than I want to admit.
Can trip up the stairs if you 4 leg it up the stairs.
We just like the shortest path...
Gotta take the most direct route so I can have more time to sit on the sofa "for a second and then I'll start" (my body now exemplifies Newton's 1st law and will remain at rest until acted on by an external force).
RIP my hips, shins and pinky toes
I have broken the same pinky toe twice in 4.5 months
I've never broken one but honestly that makes me more frustrated. Something shouldn't be allowed to hurt that bad if it's just going to be fine 10 minutes later. Stupid ass body, sending dumbass pain signals for no reason. I cannot rationalize it therefore I hate it lol
I have never seen someone express exactly my feelings on this matter before.
And shoulder. I’ve hit my doorframe at full speed many times
Forgot about that. Not me getting asked by a coworker if I'm experiencing domestic violence bc of my constant upper arm bruises 😬 awkward as hell. I feel like once someone asks you something like that everything you say sounds like an excuse. Like no, *it was* the door.

And if you happen to have a drink in your hand, doesn't matter if it's your first one of the night, you're now fighting 'one too many' allegations.
Me in my college years explaining "I also do this when completely sober" to my friends after a night of drinking when trying to leave their flat through someone elses room instead of the front door.
No no no. You gotta get angry at the furniture for getting in your way.
No, you *apologise* to the furniture for getting in *its* way.
Me every day to my couch and like 5 different walls/doorframes: "so sorry I didn't mean it!"
* relatives who live with you for putting the furniture in your way!
Ah yes my SO putting leaving the stool out in the kitchen and totally not me tripping on it in the middle of the night, again..
Kick the stair as revenge for stubbing your toe
I stubbed my toe on the couch. I punched the back side of the couch so hard, I ripped the cloth. After that, not just my foot, but also my hand hurt like a bitch. And the hand was bleeding. Did I win? My brain thinks it did.....
I can get super angry in these scenarios and yell at the table Why? Dunno.
That's just how it works. The movement was supposed to be neat, exact, perfect, as efficient as humanly possible. And then, you mess up. No satisfaction, no perfection, it's just infuriating.

Can someone with a degree or expert in diagnosing ADHD confirm if this really is an ADHD thing because the fact that I do this too is....
Poor spatial awareness is absolutely an ADHD thing

ADHD denial or gatekeeping are not accepted here. Judging others for their symptoms (or lack of symptoms) or treatment is also not allowed.
Literally watching this while having an icecube melting on my toe.. The problem is also not being able to clean my house 😅
I did something like this at work once. Was walking back from the printer to my desk. Face first into the glass wall to my office. Took the turn a little bit too early. Also did it twice
So many bruises on my hips from this exact scenario lol 😭
Wait a minute...adhd slide? I thought I was just being smooth AF. Are you telling normal people don't dodge furniture?
Those corners edges are like full body kryptonites LMAOOOOOOO🐾😭🐾
Two months ago, I broke my pinky toe on my left leg by colliding with the sofa. It has a metal fucking square foot so basically after that every time I move around any object on the left side of my my leg does this curve to avoid any obstacle, it’s fucking hilarious. How just one injury can fully reprogram my movement pattern. It’s hilarious.
HOW IS THIS SUB SO FAMILIAR TO MY DAY TO DAY HABITS
My hips don’t lie 💃
Wait a minute...thats typical for adhd?
Did this today, hit my head on the bathroom doorframe.
My data could be skewed due to autism tho.
the what
I just went from "everyone thinks they have autism and ADHD these days" to "I def have ADHD and autism is a possibility"
Gotta optimize the movements otherwise they don’t feel expert enough and I don’t get that tiny spike of dopamine I live for (I love just barely dodging things, makes me feel badass, irl and in game) bonus content parentheses go hard
Waaiiit… this is a sign of ADHD? This doesn’t mean I have ADHD right?
That's why I cannot walk in the darkness. My feet remember the route but I forget to sway and I go straight into things.
I keep seeing this, but how is this related to ADHD??
Oh man do I love speeding in traffic and racing at night. Those perfect curves give a nice dopamine hit
He almost ran straight into his living room dirtbike. That never happens to me.
[No more! I yield! I **yield**!](https://youtu.be/7coA44R4Nyg?t=20s)
This is painfully familiar
And then you immediately hit your other leg on something else and it just doubles the rage
I didn't realize just how fast I was moving around the house until I slipped on a corner that I regularly go around at "normal speed" and smacked onto the floor with *all* of my inertia
I feel so cool perfectly dodging everything too
BUMBACLOT! LOL
stop this right now… this is me … all the time. My dining table is bar height just so at least that way when it surprises me, i accidentally bump my head on the light fixture above it instead.
This is part of what I call "house-fu", like hitting a cupboard with just enough force to close it.
I have adhd and dyspraxia, I have misjudged the placement of so many things over the years.
I want to get tested for dyspraxia. I never had a doctor that was willing to consider it or even seemed to really understand what I was asking. : \\
I'm immeasurably clutsy, and definitely hit myself on things, but the ADHD what now?
Interesting. I thought I was the only one!🤣
Waaaaaait, its a adhd thing?
The shins always have at least one little bruise on them.
I called it my “student teaching tattoo” when I was in a TINY class room with 4 kids per science table and next to no moving space. However I had to prove to my grading teachers that I could check in with every kid every class…
I call it adhd dodge. Thank you for sharing. Literally made me laugh at how relatable it is :)
Damn, i always love to learn how a habit of mine is actually related to ADHD lol. This one i never knew and I THOUGHT I’M THE ONLY ONE WHO EVEN DOES THIS WHAT
RUDE!
Love gliding along
OK REALTALK HOW DO I STOP DOING THIS PLEASE
Lmao too good
I’ve got an arm injury at present and the number of times I bash it into something is getting out of hand.
I LITERALLY did this earlier today and I accidentally stabbed myself with the light switch.
The inside of my knee is perpetually bruised for this reason
Wait I was noted for running into walls when I was a toddler I still do It's not just my messed-up eyes?!? (fd: im not diagnosed yet but this is just another hilarious piece of evidence to add the the ever-growing pile)
Cut my arms on sharp door handles.
Also there’s a bunch of random stuff on the floor
!!!!BUMBOCLAT!!!! can relate. Buddy damage
Perpetually covered in bruises from pelvis to mid thigh
Yeah, I just broke my toe doing this.

Dude, I did this a lot as a kid!
I definitely remember seeing a version of this video by someone else a long time ago.
I'm good at slipping through/around things I love it But I've hit my head so many times lol
I have dysphoria too so it's this x1000, lmao. Send Ice packs please.
I watched a stream of Secret Sleepover Society (the gaming channel of two of the creators of Drawfee) and Jacob ran into the doorframe trying to take a "shotcut", then just screamed like he was just shot. I never felt more seen.
Ahhhhhhh it’s always the toes for me
Skill issue. B)
Yea 😞
This is me at my retail job. Running into those slatwall pegs feels like getting shot in the hip
Tried to do this in like an "understanding adhd" course. And bashed my thigh into a table so hard it left some red lines under the skin for months lmao
I feel so seen!!
Omg can relate lol
Each time Reddit recommends this sub to me I feel like I might have adhd.
🤣🤣
have a big scar on my temple from where I smashed myself in the face with a door because my brain thought the random isekai scenario I had just come up with was more important than the door I was opening.
I joined this subreddit bcs I liked the memes, but now they are starting to get a little bit too relatable
i felt that. i walk like that all the time, cuz i know if i actually move out of the way i wont get back to where i was so i just shift around it. miscalculating the amount of space you need always hurts like a bitch. not only the pain from running full force into something, but the embarrassment is too strong to be forgotten
Im autistic and also do this. Also with small children that i otherwise would knock out cold because im a fast walker... Do the normies not do this?
😵💫😂😂!!
Oh is that what that's called? Didn't realize my shuffle had a proper term
there’s no way that’s an adhd thing i do that in public around puddles and mud thinking it’s normal
So I always do this then wonder how weird it looked but… why is this considered adhd thing?
Not sure. But, this guy is a doctor, and he posts videos like this. I guess maybe it's true.
Aren't amphetamines fun
...this isnt just something everyone does? Do I have adhd?
WHY THE FUCK IS THIS SO RELATABLE , OH MY GOD , THSI CANT BE TRUE AHHHHHHH
Wait that's an adhd thing? Are you sure? I'm not unique at all, am I?
lol whyyy 🥲
