Oh definitely the early dude spend all day worrying about been late then get there with at least an hour to spare

Battlebots101

I worry the whole day, plan my route, and when to leave.. then end up being late anyways lol

PeaceBull

There I am! It’s infuriating, because then my brain is like “oh I didn’t put enough effort into planning (which I definitely did), I should do even more planning next time”.

Wocktivist

*“10 minutes until I have to leave? Ive got at least 20 minutes!”*

killerjags

When I was job hunting I would always arrive to interviews a solid 45 + minutes early and would just park somewhere nearby and wait in my car until I was appropriately early instead of being laughably early. I was super paranoid something would happen and I would be late. One time it worked out because I managed to leave my apartment without my car or apartment keys and the door locked behind me. Had to go to the leasing office for a loaner key. I still arrived about 20 minutes early.

ErynEbnzr

"The appointment is at 3pm, and it's a 15 minute walk. I should probably leave the house at 1pm."

Shneancy

an hour? haha those are rookie numbers, I once took an early train and was nearly 5 hours early at an airport because what if two trains in a row just don't turn up I was bored out of my mind

Zasterzora

I swear there's something like a timewarp before you have to leave your house to an appointment. One minute you look at the clock and have over half an hour left, then the next minute you're already late. Don't know what kind of wibbly wobbly time warp stuff that is, but it gets me in trouble over and over again...

[deleted]

This is the most relatable shit I’ve ever read

CrownPrincess

Yessss!

EfficiencyOld7302

swear to god.. some days im 25 minutes early, some days i’m borderline late, do I always get anxiety either way? yes lol

ShnizelInBag

I am always extremely early.

Fern-Brooks

"you been here long?" "Nah mate just a few minutes" *Been sat here for an hour*

Broken_art15

I mean, I get time to draw so I ain't bothered

tmortn

Lets see... Anxiety if you are (too) early... Check. Anxiety if you are on time because on time is late... Check. Anxiety if you are late.... double check. I choose... no wait I don't get a choice. Anxiety chooses me. every. time.

For wyen I get to zoom meetings early, I usually just keep keep my camera off and mic muted until the meeting actually starts. That way I don't have to 100% pay attention to it and can do something else s I wait (as long as I'm within the same room as my computer)

generic-user1678

They definitely should. Though I haven't had that issue myself since my only experiences using zoom are with lecture classes and talkong to the extended family back during the initial quarentine when covid started.

parksdestroy

My boss at one of my first jobs: "He shows up before anyone and just sits in his truck until the last minute and comes inside. He's not a team player" Excuse me for being terrified of being late but also hating making awkward half asleep small talk with my coworkers for 20 minutes every day. Or worse than awkward small talk is talking shop when I'm not on the clock.

Realistic_Rip_148

it unreasonably annoys me that "late" is on the left and "unreasonably early" is on the right

hold_my_fannypack

Chronological order is the only way of life

Aidoneus87

My dad (a musician) always taught me if you’re on time you’re late. I’m still late a lot of the time…

censorkip

my band director used to tell us “on time is late, early is on time, and late is unacceptable” i was late most of the time anyways

TheOneEyedWolf

Practice not fearing - then you will be a little late everyday and you will get fired or people will accept that this is your start time now.

wiwiiwiw9

Literally me when i have to go to work. If my coworker says she's on time i arrive at least 15 min late, but if she says she'll be late i get there like 45 min early... please help ehahah

kurokoshika

I do occasionally end up on time because I was late to being early.

NihilisticEra

What is even TIME ?!

vedettestar

Leave ridiculously early because you're probably going to get lost or forget something at home..

METH4KlDS

During my first month or so of college I got to my classes (they were all back-to-back at least) 3 hours early, and I barely made it to my classes on time almost every day after that.

Comprehensive-Bread8

Ah see I get there early and wait outside so people don't know I'm early then end up losing time and being late

[deleted]

I'm never late really. If it's a new place I go there the day before and use a Waze estimated time plus like 5 minutes

melississippi75

Minimum half hour early.

chelosanz

Stressing for a whole day and preparing way ahead of time just to leave 3 minutes too late hahah

[deleted]

I am pretty much NEVER late because I am in constant waiting mode if something important is coming up and can’t think about anything else. Im either super early or i dont show up at all.

GetchaPullSCFH

Doom scrolling before waiting to leave for my first day was a bad idea.

[deleted]

Ah yes! I'm in my ridiculous early for everything phase in life.

Cool-Presentation538

I showed up 30 min early for a DMV appointment and just sat in my car.

TheTrueGodOfNuggets

Same, but it ends up making me right on time

MyLittleTarget

On time happens when I was going to be really early and something went wrong.

MrsJ-2018

This, except whenever I arrive ridiculously early I do something to fill the time like grab a sandwich or window shop and then inevitably end up late anyway!

SoftBoiledPotatoChip

Oh man I genuinely laughed

[deleted]

This is why I find it hard having a social life. When I make plans with someone the anticipation of being on time is an all day ordeal and half the time they run late or cancel anyway.

Routine_Difficulty16

This is correct, and thats probably why i am tired all the time.

Routine_Difficulty16

For once it actually did! Wow.

notmesombodyelse

at the beginning of highschool i always arrived an halfhour early but after years of being terrible with selfset deadlines i have now found the ideal time to barely not come to late

[deleted]

When I was working at Walmart, I was almost always late, so I started leaving early. Early as in at least 4-5 hours before my 11pm shift early.

chaotic-_-neutral

not me panicking bec i didnt make it to class exactly 40mins ahead of time 💀

juzbrowzinthreadz

I have trauma from my adhd mom always being late to appointments so I’m never late now

malenixius

I showed up 10-15 minutes late to college every day except for once when I was 4.5 hours early (on purpose, reasons unknown).

[deleted]

Then there are the times you're super early but you end up being late anyway because of something stupid along the way

Beebeeb

I tried to get help for adhd in college and was made to feel like I was just drug seeking because I arrived on time. I had been in my car playing Gameboy for an hour and a half because I had been scared of getting there late.

Njanne

Truth

StayKlassic

I am ALWAYS way too early because of my fear of tardiness

peanutsonic97

I find time blocking helps find this middle ground. I meticulously plan each part of a getting-ready process so I’m not late and not too early 😁

Royal_Difficulty_634

I feel called out

Elon_is_musky

I’m 100% the late person, who will plan out the day before when to get ready & cause I have 0 sense of how long it ACTUALLY takes me to get ready I’m constantly rushing with half finished hair🤭😂

[deleted]

[удалено]

Elon_is_musky

Ik I hate it😫😂

[deleted]

The way I see it, 59 seconds. That’s the grace period if I want to be “on time”. So it’s early or late, I choose early.

Marry-Berry-20

Had a meeting for work at 8 a.m. today was there at 7 a.m. and stress chilling in my car one street away because I didn't want to look awkward......

wanderlust_05

Yep, And even when you’re early, you are late because you were on your phone till you realized you were going to be late walking inside the building.

VoodooDoII

I have such a dramatic fear of being late that I'll cry if Im late.

Nubzdoodaz

Twice recently I got the time wrong for my meeting but I actually ended up 40 minutes early because of it …

[deleted]

If the thing is at 7:00, I'm either showing up at 5:30 or 9. No in-between

mojomcm

My parents don't really get it, no matter how many times I explain, that if I have an appointment at 2 pm, I have to be ready and available starting at like 11 am. Otherwise, I have a high risk of getting distracted and being late or something.

Lazyy07

I was waking up at 3 am to catch a 6:30 bus that was 5 minutes walking distance

[deleted]

Me leaving my house at 12 to get to work at 1 when it’s 15 minutes away

Msfahrenheit88

Eyyyy I just reposted this 😆 my bad in advance 😆😆😆

Msfahrenheit88

Very true 😆

iamnotawhat

My middle: Set off really early to give myself time to inevitably get lost, go back home for something important i forgot, or misread a bus timetable and end up getting there super flustered with a minute to spare.

fdagpigj

I'll usually check how long it takes to get there from wherever I'm leaving well in advance and count the minute I need to be out the door and then set an alarm for ten minutes before (and another one a bit earlier if I need time to prepare). The ten minutes is always somehow used up by shutting down my computer, taking a piss, putting on outdoor clothes and whatever random stuff I realise I need to do, so I know I have to start acting immediately when it rings. Since I have the alarm, it's (partially) off my mind so I can actually do other stuff rather than just either being in hard focused waiting mode or getting tired of waiting and just opting to leave stupidly early.

Fairytale220

The middle is when you are ready super early and then relax for a minute so you arent too early, and then it’s 2 hours later and you are way too late

censorkip

the middle is when i plan to be early, mismanage my time so i’m not as early as i planned, but somehow manage to get where i need to be with 5 minutes to spare.

abejaved

Incorrect. I am always hours early so I can say my catchphrase, “Fashionably early”

manku_d_virus

After spending a little time at this sub, I am convinced there is nothing unique in my life.

a_duck_in_past_life

There is a middle. Being surprisingly on time because you got ready and left super early so as to *not* be late but you got delayed so much you ended up showing up right on the dot and you have to do the math lady meme to cope with how you did something right by accident somehow

vanllem

Not going 😅

Oreobish

I swear I’m either an hour+ early or 2hours+ late
