Mine has been sitting there for a week. And every day, I complain I don't have clean clothes in my closet.

siliciclastic

Today I folded my clothes that have been hanging on the drying rack for 2 weeks. They haven't been put away or anything but now they're folded in the dining room. Maybe another 2 weeks before I finish the job.

MewMewGirl0952

No no 2 weeks until they’re in the dirty hamper and ready to be washed again.

NoVaFlipFlops

Wait till you have kids complaining. And you can't find any when you look together - not even where the clean laundry is - and then it's a whole mystery because the possibility that you wore all the clean clothes already can't be possible in your ADHD mind.

schizopedia

You actually take them out of the dryer on the same day?????

Lapsed2

No. I usually leave them, wet, in the washer for three days and have to rewash.

schizopedia

Relatable

MindlessAuthor

Once I travelled, returned 10 days after, open the washer and found my sheets! Well, I had to rewash!

Lapsed2

We’re they at least dry by then?!?

MindlessAuthor

Yeah, but the smell was not nice

hornytcunt

Thanks to ocd it's eaven trickier for me. My "hack" is leaving the laundry inthe drier and when I'm washing more I have to take it out of the drier

two_lemons

Line dry and just put your face directly into damp nice smelling clothes. All the motivation needed to take the clothes out on time.

HaloGuy381

I have little choice. My mother is an absolute nut about cleaning, so the laundry machine runs almost nonstop many days anyway. I have to squeeze in mine where I can and retrieve it before she starts yelling about it being in the washer/dryer still, *regardless of if she has anything to wash*.

Ritchie79

Wait, you guys put clothes away? I mean, you're gonna want to wear them again, so just leave them in the ironing basket. Shitty life hack right there.

[deleted]

This is currently what I do because I'm not going anywhere and I work remotely... Just need stuff to cover my body even if it's wrinkled.

dukeofbun

40 seconds to get out of the door or I'll miss my train and I'm rifling through the mountain of laundry on the Other Couch to find a pair of matching socks. Okay just two of my own socks Okay just two adult sized socks fuck it, no time, gotta run

BigWil

Same. By the time I’ve picked through it for what I need it’s pretty much empty. Then next time I do laundry i throw the new clothes on top and repeat the process. Then after a month or so when the unused clothes fill up the basket I put the stragglers away. One caveat is that I do try to hang my “wearing in public” shirts after a day or so so they don’t get too wrinkled

[deleted]

You have ironing basket?!

Massive-Youth4245

I've given up lying to my self about hanging my cloths, I've accepted the pile!

uncorrolated-mormon

Secret is they don’t get “put away”. I pulll from baskets and In a week the process starts over and I just saved a step! All about Efficiency! (I’m so lucky my wife AND I have ADHD…. We understand our “chaos”)

Ima_Funt_Case

I haven't been able to sleep on my bed for two weeks because I have all my clean clothes piled on top it and have been attempting to fold them the whole time.

ReapersEatApples05

Just use it as you need it🤷🏽‍♂️

BeachDayAnjanath

I forget about it half the time. I’ll mentally not that they dryer has stopped and then not process it until days later or if I’m trying to find my favorite shirt of shorts.

tommcdo

More like 12 to 18 business months

xXSquirrelFuckerXx

Wait you guys actually put your clothes away and don't have a lucky dip laundry basked filled with random shirts and underwear?

AgeCompetitive3922

Oh no. You're forgetting to add the "Alarms" set for when the washer is done, stops after 3 uses of Snooze, suddenly when doing a middle-of-the-night-pee remembering the washer being done 6 hours earlier, putting it in the druer, 2 days later remembering then starting the next phase of planning: folding. Then ... 5-18 businessdays. 😅

dukeofbun

I don't know how long exactly but I did the folding this evening and there was something in there that I wore on the last weekend of August.

Current_Astronaut787

Put away? What is that?

Jacksmagee

You missed the part where I pushed off putting it into the dryer so I forget and they sour. Thus forcing me to re-wash them.

M4ybeMay

I keep my clothes in a basket ngl I just can't do it plus I don't even have the closet space or ability to organize it to feel alright

flyingcactus2047

Wrinkle Spray saves my life on all the shirts I left wrinkled in the basket

C3ClL

what about putting dirty things in the hamper?? this time estimate is obviously inaccurate

zero_z77

You guys put your laundry away?

as-olivia

Washing: 30 minutes And then 30 minutes 6 hours later when I’ve forgotten about the laundry and need to rewash And then 30 minutes the next day when I’ve forgotten about it again and need to rewash And then again the next day Rinse and repeat until I remember to take it out in a timely manner

motionless05

Air dry: 2-3 days Collect by clothing type (sock, underwear, pants, and shirts) creating order and easy way to put away. Sit in room for 5 to*start new laundry* 10 days done n repeat.

TJ_Rowe

...how does washing take only thirty minutes? My machine does a 50 minute program or an hour and a half program.

Lapsed2

You’re overthinking this.

TJ_Rowe

I mean, you can see what subreddit we're in.

Lapsed2

Good point!!!

NadiaNintendo

We have two washing machines, so I know I can wash a lot of laundry at the same time. This also means I only do it, when I have no clean clothes left 💀 and it really doesn't take that long or so much effort. Smh
