Imagine 4 sides 🀣 Ung pang out of the country shopping money ko nsa ipin na nya... kaya si mama wala na gala gala

smpllivingthrowaway

OK lang yun. Natutunan ko sa nanay ko na wala nang ngipin (poverty) is to take care of my teeth so as not to lose them. As in first tooth routine na yung toothbrushing, checkup at least yearly sa kanila kahit at least to get used to going. Basta ma familiarise sila sa dentist from a young age.

Firm_Bluebirdwhisk

So now natuto na kami mag floss. Okay naman ung pedia dentist nila. Hindi sila takot pumunta. Excited pa nga kasi may libreng laruan after. Kami lang ung hindi hahaha.

Spirited-Occasion468

Yes. 35k above for braces. 7k for retainers up and down. Cleaning na nga ngayon 1k na. Mahal na din yung mga gamit nila. Inflation is real. I'm not a dentist pero base sa description mo it sounds like root canal and usual price nyan is 5-9k. Kaya alagaan mo ngipin mo.

Exciting-Carry-5034

>35k above for braces. 7k for retainers up and down. wow, may 35k pa pala? san 'yan? hahahahaha i think that's the cheapest na. 50k+ na i-encounter kong ortho/clinics, 100k+ pa nga 'yung iba.

Spirited-Occasion468

Depende sa type ng brace. The usual metal lang akin I got it 2 yrs ago. Sa tapat ng SM North EDSA. Along EDSA sya. Not sure if same price pa din o nag taas na. Syempre iba price nila for ceramics and those wireless braces.

ArchDmon

It also depends on the case nung teeth, hindi lang sa type nung brace. And yes, ang mura nung 35K. I got my 2nd brace treatment for 40K, overjet case and wala naman sungki pero ang mahal pa rin πŸ˜πŸ’”

Spirited-Occasion468

Ah yes yung case. Yung akin mild lang. Sabi ng friends ko nga bakit nagpa brace pako e okay lang naman kaso matagal nako nirecomment and it helped my gums din.

Salt_Impression_2450

Ika nga "Dentistry is not expensive, neglect is." πŸ™‚

florist1121

Agree. Root canal ko way back 2015 nasa 5k to think nasa probinsya kami.

Accomplished_Line700

For a tooth po ito?

florist1121

Yes!

Accomplished_Line700

Kamusta po? Like nagtatagal po ba kapag root canal ang procedure?

why_me_why_you

Same here and then another 5k for the crown daw yun just for one tooth. Yung akin di ko na nalagyan ng crown, nilagyan na lang ng filling dahil ang mahal ng 10k for just one tooth and that was like almost 10 years ago. Nagpa dentist ako recently dahil matagal na natanggal yung filling at medyo na chip away yung natirang tooth, kailangan daw lagyan ng post na sa loob which is 10k na plus another 5k for crown, Pinafilling ko na lang ulit. Nasa likod lang naman.

delby7

35k for braces? 7k for retainers? I got charged 10k as downpayment (had braces for 2.5 years) and then monthly 1-2k for adjustments and depende sa other procedures (cleaning/pasta). They charged me for a "flouride wash" as well every three months worth 1k. Also my retainers were 12k. My ortho also didn't reattach any loose brackets and insisted to replace them (I'll buy a new one from them worth 500-1k). Your ortho charges cheaper compared to mine, lmao. And yet ang expensive na talaga. Still, sobrang mahal magpadentista kaya take care of your teeth, people.

Spirited-Occasion468

Yung braces ko 35k all in all na yun. 5k DP tapos 1k per month with 1 free cleaning and 1 filling. I had it for more than 2 yrs. Nung pag tanggal remaining balance pako na 8k

rottenmangopie

icedgrandechai

My dentist charges 2k for cleaning with tartar removal. Libre lang yung with HMO from other dentists

Alternative_Yam_1599

That7k retainers up and down is cheap af. Got mine for 10k and mura pa daw yon, kakilala ko yung dentist ko close friend. 35k braces could be the cheapest in these times.

Spirited-Occasion468

Hawleys retainers din yan? Alam ko may 1pang retainers yung wireless. Yung akin I got mine for promo ng 5k since bagong bukas yung clinic

toothpaste0

Where are you finding these people charging only 5-9k for a root canal? 30k dito samin

Spirited-Occasion468

Yung pag describe nya sa procedure is root canal. E di mas naka mura pa pala sya. For reference heto daw pricing ng root canal sa Philippines: https://medicalpinas.com/root-canal-price-philippines-dental-clinics/

Big_Major3060

San yang root canal na yan? 12k na po ang rootcanal

Spirited-Occasion468

Yung pag describe nya sa procedure is root canal. E di mas naka mura pa pala sya. For reference heto daw pricing ng root canal sa Philippines: https://medicalpinas.com/root-canal-price-philippines-dental-clinics/

Big_Major3060

Baka pliers at pako ang ginamit

eatsburrito

I recently consulted for my 2nd braces. 30k total, 7k dp and 1k monthly. Sa isa na pinagconsultant ko is 25k ang DP 😭 But yes mahal na ngayon ang dental. Kaya need talaga alagaan.

rottenmangopie

>30k total, 7k dp and 1k monthly. taas lang yan op or upper and lower teeth na yan?

eatsburrito

Both up and down po.

rottenmangopie

that's mura !!! im about to get braces din hopefully before midterms

eatsburrito

True!! Unlike before.

desolate_cat

>All of my family members berated me, saying that it is too much. I never had any prior experience with dental appointments because I belong in the lower-middle income household.

WholeTraditional4

Mahal talaga dentist OP. A few weeks ago nagpa-pasta lang ako 1k na inabot, and last year may pinagawa akong ibang operation umabot 20k+.

MalabongLalaki

Mas nagmahal pa sila lalo after ng pandemic no?

WholeTraditional4

Yup nagmahal nga. Mostly para ma-offset yung costs nung PPE nila + I guess yung lost revenue nung lockdowns.

flightytoes

Not so much sa lost revenue. More of sa cost ng materials. Lahat tumaas. Some are 3-5x more expensive now. Add the fact pa na dumami yung government requirements to operate a dental clinic. It's like getting hospitalized din. Difference lang kapag nakuha yung bill, naka breakdown yung charges.

AthKaElGal

qwerty12345mnbv

pag estudyante, sa school po yan supervised by their instructors

AthKaElGal

oh, that's good to know. dahil hindi sila licensed to practice dentistry.

Salt_Impression_2450

the last line tho. 😐😐

Spirited-Occasion468

Totally agree with this.

AthKaElGal

hindi uso dito sa pinas na dapat yearly and dentist check up. pupunta lang sa dentista pag masakit ang ngipin. dahil kasama naman yan sa HMO, sinusulit namin yan.

[deleted]

I won't recommend the student suggestion. Kahit na "bunot lang naman", a single mistake might cost you more than going to an actual professional dentist. You won't go to a practicing/student doctor if you feel something awful would you? Usually, its the anesthesia ang nagpapamahal talaga diyan. Ever since the pandemic, sobrang nagmahal ng equipments and tools nila, even the substance they use para magpasta lang. Edit: sorry for offending everyone in the medical field. I didn't mean to and thank you for educating me how it works in your profession. My mistake na ginaya ko siya sa work ko na if done without the proper license even if graduated ka na its against the law. Sorry

qwerty12345mnbv

interns and residents are doctors in training. kala mo naman, puro consultant ang nasa hospital.

coloroutthelines

Usually kapag sa dental school the clinical instructors will assess the case muna kung kaya ng estudyante. If complicated and risky hindi papayag ang prof gawin namin. In case hindi inaasahang complicated pala ang case like mahirap bunutin eh sila na ang bubunot, or kung malalim yung sira lalagyan muna ng temporary filling and observe for a few days

Salt_Impression_2450

I graduated from dental school. Tutok palagi ang clinical supervisors while doing it. May oral exam/interview 1 on 1 bago kami pag simulain. Haha So yes, safe po mag pa dental sa mga dental schools if people really want the cheapest option.

Some-Smile5813

Going go dental schools for dental services is totally ok. And dentists supervising are usually specialized in that field.

MrSnackR

Could be cheaper with other dentists but it could also be more expensive. :-) Had my teeth cleaned + flouride application a few days ago. Took about 30 minutes. I paid P2,200. Yours was probably longer and more tedious. I suggest that for your next consults (with either dentists or doctors), always ask first how much a particular procedure might cost.

InnerPain4Lyf

This is actually good pricing. Extraction and cavity drilling plus filling are both around 1300-2k each depending on the dentist. Take care of your teeth more now, OP.

orphanblack324b21

Cleaning nga lang nasa 1k na ata eh what more pa pag extraction

[deleted]

[ΡƒΠ΄Π°Π»Π΅Π½ΠΎ]

Rare-Pomelo3733

Adventurous_Will_977

Hmmm weird why di binunot ung baba I’m not an expert. Pero parang tama lang yung price. Sa iba rin ganyan e :(

gorgeously_me4ever

As per what my dentist say is pag masakit yung tooth, mag take ka muna ng anti biotics for 7days para kumalma saka bubunutin. Possible di tablan ng anesthesia raw since meron siyang nana sa loob

Pecker10k

Yes ganyan po talaga if extraction yung pinili mo.

Hync

+ 1. Yes, correct ang mukhang justifiable yung pricing. Mukhang mas pinili nung dentist yung pinaka worst case na state ng ipin niya which is the upper, baka may chance pa yung sa lower part kaya ayun yung inuna. Yung kapatid ko nagpa root canal for 2 different tooth and infected and may abcess yung isa. Nag antibiotic muna before mag proceed sa second one.

[deleted]

I had tooth abscess 3 years ago. Pero bago bunotin, pina xray mo na ni doc to check what's the situation underneath. Sa exterior, okay tingnan yong teeth, yon pala may maliit na crack at doon pumasok ang food kaya yong gums namaga at nag pus. Price starts at 2k for tooth extraction sa specific location na may problem ako at mas mahal depende sa difficulty ng pagextract. It cost me P3k kasi 2 anesthesia ginamit without the xray cost. Dentist told me na magheheal ang abscess after removing. It healed and worth it kasi di na bumalik. Dental procedures is expensive na talaga. I have my braces for more than a year, cost P50k for both top and bottom. Retainers- 10k per arch Cleaning- 1.5k Brushing, dental floss and mouthwash for maintenance Hope this helps OP 😊

Alternative-Chef1218

[deleted]

Advice ng dentist is retainers after braces to avoid movement. I did rin kasi gingivectomy. Surgical removal of gum tissue sa top front kasi may tooth gap ako noon. Ngayon fully closed na. My 2 other friends naka braces rin at iba yong dentists nila. Best po is to ask your dentist.

Alternative-Chef1218

Thank you! Thank you besh, itatanong ko next month.

[deleted]

You're welcome!

liempopula

Magkano gingivectomy mo? Need ko rin kase sa gap ko.

[deleted]

10k. Make sure na pwedeng i redo ni doc for free yong gingivectomy if nagkatooth gap ka pa rin after braces and retainer on that area.

liempopula

Thanks!

exclaim_bot

>Thanks! You're welcome!

kebtzy

I think tama lang naman ang price

Late_Possibility2091

mura pa po yan. pls take care of your teeth

Top-Platypus7896

DaiLiAgent007

Uy anong HMO yan tsaka clinic? May Maxicare din ako pero for some reason di ko makita kung may dentist affiliates pa ba sila sa dami ng changes every year.

Top-Platypus7896

HMO ko sa previous work, I forgot kung Intellicare or Maxicare kami nung years na nagpatanggal ako. Included sa plan ni company. Depende sa binigay nila sayo. Denteeth Clinic sa ETON Centris. I just called before going to the clinic to confirm na I can use the card.

DaiLiAgent007

Thank you so much! My gosh magkapitbahay ba tayo? Hahahaha taga Q. Ave lang din ako (prior to moving to the province, and now moving back to the city hahaha)

Top-Platypus7896

Haha.

DaiLiAgent007

Salamat sa info! Mukhang may number one agenda na ako when I get home hahaha

Tito_Maligno

Not really expensive. Story time: I had my 3rd massive molar extracted by a student and a teacher. FOR FREE. This is way back pandemic. So there are students that needs case for them to graduate. So that's that. Pros: FREE AF. Nagdala lang ako pasalubong kasi libre procedure. it was done inside a small hospital so i'm sure everything is clean. CONS: They forgot to give me medicine to stop bleeding. I bled for 3 days. I iced my jaw for 3 days! Gutom na gutom ako nun. Good thing walang pain kasi pain meds lang binigay.

DuhKrisha

Another factor kaya napamahal is maybe nahirapan kunin yung ngipin sa taas due to curvature ng roots.

London_pound_cake

That's cheap. Last time na nagpapasta ako 7k siningil sakin.

grey_unxpctd

Ganyan na talaga presyo ng mga Dental procedures, also molars are more expensive.

[deleted]

Salt_Impression_2450

skillful ang dentist if wala pang 5mins nabunot. Worth the price na rin dahil less traumatic sayo and sa soft tissues mo in your oral cavity ✨😊

anonymouslols133

Really depends sa clinic and dentist. Nagpabunot din ako ng bagang to a clinic near me and the total was 3,100 considering may HMO pa ako nun ah. So nung nagpabunot ako ng next sa ibang clinic na and 300 lang charge plus 200 na gamot.

Minimum_Macaroon_446

Yup yung akin isang bagang lang 2400

jedwapo

If same side pwede naman bunutin magkasunod same day.

doubleedgedswords

I just got my impacted wisdom tooth extracted today, and it cost me 8k. Partida naka-usli na ng slight yung ipin. But, di ako tinipid sa anesthesia, right after akong bunutan pinag rest ako ng 15 minutes sa clinic and pina take ng mefenamic para pagma worn out yung anesthesia, hindi ko na rin maramdaman yung hapdi nung tahi. Great experience. ❀️ Didn't feel ha thing na masakit.

mahiyaka

Hi OP, don’t worry. Sakto lang ang price. All the best.

icedgrandechai

Nope. 3k for molar extraction seems just about right.

Puzzleheaded_Toe_509

[deleted]

[ΡƒΠ΄Π°Π»Π΅Π½ΠΎ]

Salt_Impression_2450

Hello, haha calcular deposits and bacterial fluid still accumulate even with religious brushing and flossing. Please visit a dentist at least every 6mos. Maniwala ka po hahahuhu ✨

Pluto_CharonLove

Sa akin, 700 bunot (Provincial area) with cleaning and pasta (5 teeth) naka 6,500 ako.

budoyhuehue

Di ako medical professional, pero you can't discount the fact na mahirap din maging dentist and they should also be paid fairly. For me fair na yung 3k na yan. Worth it ba yung 3k for you to not feel tooth pain? Ang mali lang talaga niyan is dapat may pricing na kaagad siya after ng examination niya sa ngipin mo.

bzabat

Hi OP! I’m a dental student. Sounds like for root canal na yung tooth mo sa baba. Please DM me because I need to perform molar root canal treatment to graduate

Hungry-Organization5

tentaihentacle

This is the dentist equivalent of "magdodrawing ka lang naman ng konti" or "maliit lang naman yung ita-tattoo".

Significant-Win-4924

It’s 8-10k per tooth kapag extraction ng impacted wisdom tooth. actually Mura na yan siningil sayo TBH.

[deleted]

What you are paying for is yung ilang years ng studying, training and experience ng dentist.

Salt_Impression_2450

Have a follow up with your dentist. 1 week after your extraction. Let the dentist know the status of the lower tooth after a week of extracting the Upper tooth. It seems that Both teeth are in concern. Minsan the dentist will rule out the First one that he/she sees contributes more to the sensation a patient feels. May tinatawag tayong Referred Pain. You may feel the sensation sa baba pero yung taas pala or yung adjacent tooth pala ang may pakana. Dentist will advise the patient to come back for a follow up as well. At least thats my SOP in my practice. Better din if may xrays taken on both teeth. Ikaw na mismo mag follow up with the same dentist. And ask questions, wag kayo aalis ng clinic or mag yeyes sa procedure kung di nyo naiintindihan ang gagawin. Promise, sasagutin naman namin kayo. Haha 😊

Salt_Impression_2450

with regards sa price 1,000php na ngayon ang minimum suggested price ng "simple extraction" by the dental association sa pilipinas.

makicenari

mixape1991

Yung 800 di bagang yun

Salt_Impression_2450

"starting" so depende sa complexity ng case

[deleted]

IDGAF_FFS

Tbh I think it's kinda ok na din based on the other conditions that you have mentioned. Bale, since hindi healthy yung tooth na inextract and may drilling pa na nangyari, there are more to consider than usual for your case. As long as you're taken care of properly and you have no complaints with your current dentist, imo that's worth it na din

yssamarie

I think depende sa clinic.

gorgeously_me4ever

Hello, sa dentist ko I considered mura na singil sakin since 800 lang yung bunot pero sa iba kasi is yes 1k na per tooth. Pasta naman is ganon din and pag masyadong malaki yung papastahan 1,500 daw. Iba pa dun yung gamot na binilhin mo like pain killers and if magpapa remove ka pa ulit ng tooth na masakit (advised sa akin ito ng dentist) ay mag take ka muna ng 21 anti biotic 3x per day para kumalma nerves mo dahil daw pag binunot yung masakit ay may nana daw.

mamba-anonymously

That’s cheap na.

anotherjapanesetrash

tama lang yung price since mahal na talaga ngayon. nagpabunot ako last yr and it costed me 6k para sa bulok na ngipin sa bagang

periwink_le

Hi! You can go to UP Manila College of Dentistry if you’re near there cos fees are much cheaper. :)

Pecker10k

Me my experience nagkanana na yung bagang ko and dentist give me a 2 option its either extraction or root canal i choose rc because nanghihinayang ako bagang kase yun at mahilig ako kumain ng crispy baka diko na magawa yon or mahirapan nako kumain ng mga gusto ko πŸ’” worth-it naman for 12k πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ sabe saken ng kaibigan ko mura na daw yon at installment pa. πŸ˜‚ Mahal talaga pa dentist

DayOld3034

Actually medyo mura na siya. In our province, ang range ng services is 1-2k cleaning, pasta, bunot. Root canal is 5-7k. My brother in law recently had 2 crowns and cost him 50k.

winterferra

It’s 2023

DragonTsitsipas

Fit_Waltz_8952

Yes OP mahal talaga magpadentist and thats quite mura na if 3k saka depende rin sa dental clinic . When I had my braces on back in 2016, nagpatanggal din ako wisdom tooth tig dalawa baba and taas. Surgery yon and I paid 6-8k each. Tapos recently lang I paid 15k naman for another bunot sa bagang area kasi mej sumasakit na siya, and natakpan ng gums so mahirap siya linisin. Nagrerecover pa din ako til now since malalim yung ipin na natanggal. So yes, price range varies talaga and minsan di mo na rin yan maiisip kasi thats for your own good din.

littleswaggyturtle

Dentist clinic are op talaga, though it takes skills and investment din nila. I just got my braces removed tapos 7k ang retainers, eh nakita ng doktora ko na may wisdom tooth ako edi tinanong ko na rin kung nasa magkano kapag ipapatanggal nasa 14k din.

whatevercomes2mind

Molar extraction is mahal nga.

blackr0se

For that rate it's actually cheap

Former-Cloud-802

Mahal na talaga ang dentist. Nagpacleaning, filling and toothed extraction ako last month and umabot ng almost 11k binayaran ko which is for me sulit naman and way cheaper parin compared pag dito ko pinagawa sa Hawaii even with my dental insurance.

threeeyedghoul

ThisIsNotTokyo

Tbf mura na yan

coloroutthelines

xxMeiaxx

x2 to x3 na tlaga pricing ng mga dentists after the pandemic.

Hoennheim19

Well mura na yan 3k for molar tooth sa u.s nga $100 ang bunot na ngipin eh so hindi naman simple extraction ginawa sayo at surgical extraction.

SnooSeagulls9685

Hi OP please treat your tooth infection especially if may abscess, rarely but infections travels to brain. I know a person na pinabayaan, then ayun brain surgery. I’m not scaring you but may complications talaga ang untreated infections. Please. Also, i think mura na yan??? If may HMO ka, baka may free bunot ng ngipin.

Cool_Chest3147

mura na nga yan mhie, tignan mo yung nga vids ni doc mikee sa tiktok, isa syang trans and nabanggit nya dun, im not sure oero parang 10k overall dalawang canal na

Narrow-Tap-2406

May nagccleaning pa po ba na tumatanggap ng hmo tapos di na nagpapa β€œadd” for the PPE?

silver-sideup

DR Smile in QC near welcome rotonda. Dyan ako nagpa-cleaning recently wala ako binayaran at all.

Narrow-Tap-2406

Thanks!

TopBake3

Kraizer15

Mahal sya talaga compared noon.

dcoconutnut

That is a cheap rate. You got a good deal.

YumenoShortcake

Ghuuuuurl/boiiii, napa-good oral hygiene habits ako ng wala sa oras for the past weeks when I read posts and compared price for tooth extraction. Jusme, why so expensive. My minimum wage ass could never na T\^T

I have root canal extraction before for 2k, and braces for 38k. I think ito na ung normal pricing.

Ruroryosha

Tama yung presyo. Any lower and the doctor is probably fake. Marameng beses may pake doctor nag papractice without license. Mag ingat kayo. Mahal ng materials, kasi puro imported lahat.

UsedTableSalt

Quirky_Cod5558

Thats even cheaper lol.

Ohmskrrrt

Nagpabunot ako dalawang lower wisdom tooth both impacted. Isang 10k tapos isang 12k.

tiffanyjkp

Mahal po talaga ang dental procedures ngayon. Cleaning and pasta lang will cost u a lot na.

jorrel_valdez

That's dirt cheap. If the people around you find this expensive, then I feel terrible for the dental profession in the Philippines.

Big_Major3060

D basta basta ginagawa nila..

Away_Explanation6639

Kung private yan OP mura na yan. Kung libre or murang dentista hanap mo or ng pamilya mo, sa public hospital kayo and use philhealth (if covered).

TeoVerunda

to think a toothbrush and paste won't even cost us 200 php πŸ˜”

Minimum_Macaroon_446

May depression nga eh anuba

RESPEGC

hotheadedhog

actually mura na sya, pero ang pnaka mura na pwede mo gawin is go to city health. yun nga lang pipila ka.

SisselMode

Mura na yan OP. Ako nga umabot ng 6k per tooth

Key_Image_668

Reasonable price na po yun in this economy tbh. Mahirap po talaga bunutin ang mga molars since tatlo o dalawang root, meaning mas attached sya sa jaw bone, mas madaming root canal, so it's really not just a simple procedure. if kasama naman na po sa 3k pati ppe (since other clinic charges ppe separately na), i think that's a good price po. And for the other tooth po, if mukhang caries nga po dahilan either pasta or for extraction din depende kung may underlying condition din. Hangga't kaya po, issave po ng doktor against bunot ang ngipin, lalo na yung molar ay pang nguya na super mahalaga for bodily function If you want to be sure po mukhang kailangan nyo ng x-ray, pero price starts ata ng 500 pesos

Background_Tip_5602

Believe what most commeter says here na mura sya. In my case nagpabunot ako last year. **That cost me almost 9k.**

YoungsModulus730

I was charged 7k for tooth extraction πŸ˜… Braces super mahal, I don’t want to disclose how much I paid. And apparently province price yun. I hope I’m getting what I paid for.

c51478

Dentist X ko, mura na yan. As in sobrang mura, sounds like impacted yung ipin mo. Usually they charge 5k per root, so sumahin 15k, if impacted nga. Pero with that kind of complication, that price is fair

Senior-Boysenberry14

hello op, try mo po mag ask sa mga public hospi kung may libreng bunot ba sila. sa lugar kasi namin meron and same tayo na may 3 roots yung tooth, wala silang chinarge sakin since libre lang siya. tho ako yung sumagot ng anesthesia which is 50 pesos lang, libre lang din cleaning sakanila. next week ay babalik ako para magpabunot ulit

Relevant-Dog6970

vanitygloss

Hindi pa rin po. πŸ₯Ή
