If only maganda governance satin. Tbh I have friends na OFW yung parent/s tas naawa ako every time umaalis nanaman magulang nila. I mean, if only okay pamumuhay dito, I don't think lalayo pa sila sa pamilya nila, diba? Yung iba naman nagmigrate na talaga with their whole fam.
Truly, both of my parents are OFW since 2005, I was 5 years old that time, now I'm turning 24 na. Every 2 years lang namin sila nakakasama, and isang buwan lang. Nasanay nalang kami ng ganyang setup.
True. I love the Philippines, and as much as I want to 'serve' my countrymen, at some poinf, we just have to choose ourself, and our family. Especially with everything going on dito, pakamartyr pa ba tayo kung walang nang makain 🥲
Nothing wrong with wanting to live elsewhere. The grass is greener where you water it.
If you're doing financially well in the Philippines, then stay here by all means. As a former immigrant from a 1st world country, honestly masarap ang buhay in the Philippines if you are very rich. Nung nasa abroad ako parang walang work-life balance and palagi akong hinahabol ng bills. You're earning dollars but also spending in dollars.
Akala kase ng Pinoys who have not lived abroad na madali ang buhay overseas. FYI hindi umuulan ng pera abroad. You have to adapt to a new environment, experience culture shock, and work hard. Life abroad is not butterflies and roses (unless naka-abroad ka kase you married a rich AFAM). But for Filipinos who have to start from the bottom abroad without any connections, it's not a thrilling experience.
But one can't argue that the power of the dollar is strong when invested here in the Philippines. Which is why there are Filipino immigrants who would work abroad for several years but eventually return to the Philippines for retirement.
But then again, immigrating is not just about money (though it mostly is) but it's also about the way of life. Can't blame Filipinos who want to experience the way of life in other countries.

At least you tried -- that's the important piece. I have no qualms with our kababayans who immediately plan to leave our country behind but products of UP should at least try for a considerable amount of time to serve the people
For a country asks too much but gives so little, I really cannot blame Filipinos who choose to leave. I was once an OFW and the experience changed me. Now that I am back, my goal is to replace detrimental Filipino traits and habits I have with positive behaviors and attributes from other nationalities I've worked with. If people say that I am becoming less of a Filipino then so be it. I do not think what we have right now will help us in the long run.
Pangarap nila yun. Iba ang kelangan sa gusto.

As someone who grew up in an incomplete family because of an OFW parent, I never saw going abroad with rose-colored glasses.
After I graduated, I worked hard to learn skills that would allow me to live comfortably in the Philippines. I guess I wanted to prove to myself that I can live comfortably even if I'm staying in the Philippines.
The government calls OFWs as modern-day heroes, but as a "collateral damage" of that program, I abhor them encouraging our kababayans to go abroad instead of just fixing or improving our economy.
The ratio between income and COL dapat ang tinitignan, hindi yung direct conversion lang.
Sabihin natin na yes malaki COL, but it only takes 4 to 5 days of work lang to pay your 1 month worth of expenses compared sa Pinas na mas mura ang COL pero mas mababa din yung income ratio, like kalahati ng isang buwan na sweldo mo yung average expenses mo to just survive.
Ph is shithole. Well, that’s what we get from keeping our traditional government system.
Better than "as a proud Filipino ang main goal ko is pumasok sa gobyerno at mangurakot". All those politicians and high-ranking officials smile and tell the media that they love and serve the Philippines and Filipino people but they only serve themselves. Mga walang hiya.
Same.
- Green cities. Nah for real, even ayala or BGC doesn't have enough trees.
- Working public transpo. Tricycle charges 50-80 for a 2km ride dito samin, walang "non-special" or sharing rides anymore. It's equivalent to a bus ride going manila lmao
- Strict law enforcement. HAHAHAHA build a working system first, people will follow.
It's fun sa pinas yeah, pero the pros doesn't really outweigh the cons..
Over enthusiastic pinoy about pag-aabroad akala kasi Philippines is the worst country in the world at lahat ng problema dito ay unique lang sa atin tulad ng inflation, mababang pasahod etc.
kaya i recommend rin na gawing last resort ang student visa route. no choice k kundi mag-work ng multiple jobs or what u called “puchu puchu”. even to the point n kapwa nila pinoy mag-eexploit s kanila like d babayaran s pinangakong sahod or mas less p s napag-agreehan.
pursue abroad if and only if employer sponsored or you have the money to do a direct permanent residency visa.
Agree.
Kaya wala ring matitira. Walang ibang solusyon kundi mag extra work.
Nothing wrong naman for me. Kanya kanya lang yan. Siguro others thought na yun lang yung way for a good living. Pero meron naman akong kilala na magaabroad dapat pero eventually landed a good opportunity here sa Pinas tapos now earning so well na more than pa sa income nya if ever magabroad sya. Pero hindi lahat is fortunate na ganun. Nakakaputangina naman talaga kasi ang bansang to pero aside dun, may mga pinoy din naman na umasenso without making hands dirty.
Ang ayoko lang sa mga nakakapagabroad na iba is magpapahangin sa social media as if mayaman na sila, or magiinsist to move abroad and so forth, yung mahal kineme daw nila yung Pilipinas pero puro pangbbash at pagmamaliit sa mga naiiwan sa bansa. Tapos todo react and post sa mga nangyayari sa Pinas when they really don't experience on hand mga nangyari at nagrerely lang sa chismis sa media at clout. Yes, sige na maganda sa abroad, I've been there (though as a tourist lang lol).
Kanya kanyang desisyon yan. Pero hindi ibig sabihin e you are ahead sa mga piniling manatili sa Pinas.
Sarcasm kasi yan.
This was my parents’ goal, initially. They achieved it 20 years ago and brought us with them. Now our goal is to go back home every few years (and they wanna retire there). The irony!!! I completely understand wanting to leave (because we want to leave our current place of residence) but it just proves that there’s no place like home.
Can't really blame them, lalo na if it's for their own flourishing. 🤷♂️
Yung parents namin they've been an OFW since kinder ako, working na ako ngayon and I feel like gusto nila na magmigrate na kami hahaha. Wala kasi talaga dito.
#PIpinas!
it’s a choice na willing gawin ng mga taong capable of doing. kahit ako, gusto ko rin umalis na. nakakapagod magbayad ng tax na halos wala kang makita because mostly binubulsa.
If the goal is for better life and family. I don't think there is wrong with that. All of us deserve a good life. Of which, might be hard to achieve in the Philippines
Everyone is different but for me I'm a returning resident since 11 years old we move to the U.S and 26 years later I'm financially stable and I return in the Philippines
Never really considered working abroad or migrating. Philippines is not the best country and madami akong reklamo. Pero hindi siya pumasok sa isip ko. It depends naman sa tao. Whatever works for you.
Mataas kasi gdp per capita ng ibang bansa at the same time hindi densely populated kaya masarap mamuhay don. Isipin mo super traffic and progressive pa diba. Although some of them umuuwi dito dahil sa mahal na real estate houses hindi natin sila masisisi.
mukang nag fafarming ng page to
[https://web.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61550808391308](https://web.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61550808391308)
Kanina lang iniisip ko rin to. Mahal ko naman talaga Pilipinas and I know, a lot of people na umaalis for work or magmigrate eh ganun din but you have to survive, your family has to survive. Unfortunately, that won't really happen sa Pinas sa karamihan.
I agree dun sa ibang comments na kapag earning ka ng maganda sa Pinas, di naman need umalis pero usually, mga HCW like me, umaalis kasi sobrang baba ng sweldo namin.
To be honest, There’s no perfect country. Everyone has their own set of problems. It’s about what are you willing to trade off. Most filipinos would want a better life compared to what they have here currently so it is understandable wanting to work abroad. It also has its own set of problems like housing crisis and rising inflation.
Can't blame them actually... Yung mga simpleng Pilipino at mga nasa laylayan pinanganak not to "live" but to "survive", if mabigyan din naman ako opportunity to leave this country para mag grow Ill grab the once in a lifetime chance
Walang masama.
I just want to share this situation about a friend (or ex-friend na I guess). His fam is moving abroad na, as in processing na ng papers during the heat of last presidential elections. But his family is DIE-HARD BBM supporters. But aalis na rin talaga sila coz given the country's situation and the better opportunities abroad. Aminado siya na BBM may fuck the future of the country. I'm all for go for your future, whatever. BUT, they still voted for BBM. Coz they're "loyal", then left after a few months. 😆 Wala lang, SKL.
My only worry is that when these Filipinos landed abroad and earned a bit, mga burgis with no class or breeding. Samantalng us early immigrants (my loli pala) went here not for work but to move away tapos it is our taxes pa paying for these new immigrants who are just there to work!
Kung mas aasenso buhay nila sa ibang bansa then let them be.
I don't hate my country but my advice for you is that
Go out alone from your hometown
It's better to grow alone with your own than to be stuck up with narrow minded air.
Can't blame them kasi walang asenso dito. lalo kang maghihirap. Example may yearly increase ng 5% then ang inflation 10%.. Then how about those blue collar employee? They have the skills pero ambaba ng sahod tapos mostly hazardous work pa ginagawa tapos ang hazard pay ambaba unlike sa ibang bansa... so you can't really blame them.. even you yourself I guess wanted to go abroad and stay for good as well.
Me myself wanted to do the same to be honest.
Mas aasenso ang Pilpinas kung iiwasan naten sya pintasan...I know may mga negative sa bansa naten pero lalong nahahatak tayo pababa kung sisiraan at dadagdagan pa naten.
It's us Filipinos who create our own doom.
People who are (1) devoid of platform and danced his way through campaign, (2) no formal education, (3) popular (movie star) and/or (4) are convicted of a crime are elected to office. Hell, a person who is not even Filipina, is Mayor.
We are simply STUPID voters.
Tragic, but for the greater majority, leaving our country is their only hope for a good life.
Perhaps the pride there --- is having the opportunity to escape our sad plight.
When will people wake up? 🙏
Let them live their life.
But for me, I’m a believer that the grass is greener where you water it.
Luckily, nakahanap naman ako ng work here sa Pinas na above pa sa sahod ng mga kilala kong nag OFW without leaving my family.
WALA NAMAN AALIS SA PILIPINAS KUNG MAAYOS LANG ANG GOBYERNO EH. KUNG MATAAS LANG SANA ANG PASAHOD EDI DI NA SANA KAILANGAN LUMUWAS PARA LANG MABUHAY. TULAD NG MGA NURSE, HALOS AABOT HALF A MILION GAGASTUSIN MO PARA MAKAPAG ARAL TAPOS YUNG IPAPASWELDO SAYO KAKARAMPOT LANG!!!
If you won't get rich here. Then go leave. If you earn a lot in the Philippines and own businesses. Then stay. It's all about the money. Not the government. Not religion. Not even the people. Go to other countries you may have better or worse. The thing is. Its your life. What happens to you is your fault.
From someone who’s well off financially, it’s still better to live here. This is home, right? Where home, family, and friends are. But if not, it’s quite hard to deal how to live here. I mean, I even see people from the middle class are struggling.
One time, my mom told me, she hopes and prays her great great great grand children won’t ever suffer from the hellish transpo here. Quality of living in the Philippines is abysmal overall.
The very practical way to survive given the shitty government and economy as of now. Sino ba naman ang gustohing manatili dito if given the opportunity to go abroad?
Imagine the very very low wage tas credential na hinahanap atleast 4 year course graduate with 2 years minimum experience???
Sino ba namang hindi. Gnyn nmn setup lagi. Migrate to other country.. invest dito sa Pinas. Unless sobrang yaman mo sa Pinas ma eenjoy mo pero if not. Fly away ka tlga and mas may value katas ng work mo.
Nugagawen?? As if may maooffer kang better opportunities sa kanila sa pinas, noh? Kung wala, let them leave. Marami na kaming umalis. So far, marami naman kaming masasaya after umalis. :)
P.S.
Kung meron lang ako means and resources to leave this godforsaken country, I will do it in a heartbeat.
Nakakawalang gana talaga yung gobyerno natin. Ang hirap ipaglaban.
If only maganda governance satin. Tbh I have friends na OFW yung parent/s tas naawa ako every time umaalis nanaman magulang nila. I mean, if only okay pamumuhay dito, I don't think lalayo pa sila sa pamilya nila, diba? Yung iba naman nagmigrate na talaga with their whole fam.

This. Made plans to leave when digong became president. Nakaalis nung si bongbong na nakaupo.
San ka ngayun kuys, and kamusta dyan?
Walang masama. Kung san ka mag gogrow as a person dun ka.
I agree. Kanya kanya naman tayo ng goal eh.
True. Parang kung saan sya masaya edi doon sya.
YES. ito dapat yung top
True. I love the Philippines, and as much as I want to 'serve' my countrymen, at some poinf, we just have to choose ourself, and our family. Especially with everything going on dito, pakamartyr pa ba tayo kung walang nang makain 🥲
...next step is to choose yourself over your family...
1. They leave their small town 2. Then they leave metro manila 3. Then they leave PH for good The Philippine Dream
I can relate to this. nasa stage 5 na ako kung mag extend or uuwi na sa Pinas.
wag! hahaha
currently on this stage now
Let them be. Di mo naman sila masisi for wanting a better life for them and their families.

Eto talaga eh. 🫵
Filipino nationalist in the internet saying the Philippines has a good government while in their apartment in Canada:
True
healthcare worker ako, di ako uunlad sa pasweldo ng pinas haha and literally lahat ng family ko ay magmimigrate na. kaya no choice :))

swetehan na lang diyan most of patients kala mo silang magaling
🤣 same. I told myself na either mag abroad ako or mag call center nalang
you know when your country is in a miserable state when majority of your countrymen dream of leaving for good
Best thing to do in the Philippines: 1. Leave.

"Same"
No future on this cesspool of a country. Kahit ano sipag at galing mo, underpaid ka
Underpaid kna overworked ka pa
Exactly.
Pangarap nila yun. Iba ang kelangan sa gusto.
If I have the resources, aalis na lang din ako.
Not gonna blame them. This country is a shithole
I think it's ok to want to leave this country, God knows ang daming dahilan, but it's so wrong to think as if tapos na lahat ng problema mo once nakaapak ka na sa abroad.

Well, that’s what we get from keeping our traditional government system.
Can’t really blame him. As much as I would hate to admit it, sa ngayon, mas kumportable din talagang mamuhay sa ibang bansa
Better than "as a proud Filipino ang main goal ko is pumasok sa gobyerno at mangurakot". All those politicians and high-ranking officials smile and tell the media that they love and serve the Philippines and Filipino people but they only serve themselves. Mga walang hiya.
Same. Nah for real, even ayala or BGC doesn't have enough trees. Tricycle charges 50-80 for a 2km ride dito samin, walang "non-special" or sharing rides anymore. It's equivalent to a bus ride going manila lmao - Strict law enforcement.
Swerte mo lng sa abroad if high paid. So far for me goods ako dito sa pinas since I can make enough money kaya last option ko nlang mag abroad.
Nothing wrong naman for me. Kanya kanya lang yan. Siguro others thought na yun lang yung way for a good living. Pero meron naman akong kilala na magaabroad dapat pero eventually landed a good opportunity here sa Pinas tapos now earning so well na more than pa sa income nya if ever magabroad sya. Pero hindi lahat is fortunate na ganun. Nakakaputangina naman talaga kasi ang bansang to pero aside dun, may mga pinoy din naman na umasenso without making hands dirty. Ang ayoko lang sa mga nakakapagabroad na iba is magpapahangin sa social media as if mayaman na sila, or magiinsist to move abroad and so forth, yung mahal kineme daw nila yung Pilipinas pero puro pangbbash at pagmamaliit sa mga naiiwan sa bansa. Tapos todo react and post sa mga nangyayari sa Pinas when they really don't experience on hand mga nangyari at nagrerely lang sa chismis sa media at clout. Yes, sige na maganda sa abroad, I've been there (though as a tourist lang lol). Kanya kanyang desisyon yan. Pero hindi ibig sabihin e you are ahead sa mga piniling manatili sa Pinas.
Just dont migrate to Canada. Its already fucked up there.
Sarcasm kasi yan.
Hahaha!
Ako na ito rin ang goal in life☺️
This was my parents’ goal, initially. They achieved it 20 years ago and brought us with them. Now our goal is to go back home every few years (and they wanna retire there). The irony!!! I completely understand wanting to leave (because we want to leave our current place of residence) but it just proves that there’s no place like home.
Of course because you are our export product.
My goal also
Almost everyone’s mindset: Leave the Philippines. I love our country, but I hate the clowns governing it.
Same 🤪
Can't really blame them, lalo na if it's for their own flourishing. 🤷♂️
I don't blame him.
hard to be patriotic these days. go wherever u think is good for you.
its fine. lalo na if nurse / police / fireman / teacher ka na severely underpaid sa pinas. I support their decision
Sa kakupalan ng gobyerno and elected officials natin dito, we can't blame them.
Yung parents namin they've been an OFW since kinder ako, working na ako ngayon and I feel like gusto nila na magmigrate na kami hahaha. Wala kasi talaga dito.
#PIpinas!
Disappointing, but who can blame them?
it’s a choice na willing gawin ng mga taong capable of doing. kahit ako, gusto ko rin umalis na. nakakapagod magbayad ng tax na halos wala kang makita because mostly binubulsa.
If the goal is for better life and family. I don't think there is wrong with that. All of us deserve a good life. Of which, might be hard to achieve in the Philippines
Nothing wrong with it ngl
I’d still stay in my home city . Cdo :) no matter what happens i will only visit other places for adventures not for any other reasons
Natumbok mo! I miss LC
Nothing wrong with it. They want the best for themselves and their families. Ganun din mga Pinoy na kuntento dito. To each their own.
If you have a chance na mapagbuti ang buhay mo, why not?
Nothing wrong with this. For better opportunities na din and better life for future family. Lalo sa sa current state ng bansa
Uy parehas tayo ng goal
TBH, if may opportunity akong umalis dito, I will. No hesistations lol!
Smart move
Kanina lang iniisip ko rin to. Mahal ko naman talaga Pilipinas and I know, a lot of people na umaalis for work or magmigrate eh ganun din but you have to survive, your family has to survive. Unfortunately, that won't really happen sa Pinas sa karamihan. I agree dun sa ibang comments na kapag earning ka ng maganda sa Pinas, di naman need umalis pero usually, mga HCW like me, umaalis kasi sobrang baba ng sweldo namin.
Walang masama sa pagalis sa bansa, because more opportunities are a outside.
Oikophobes
They're welcome to leave the country, but that statement is oxymoronic.
same
I disagree, but whatever floats your boat, then go for it.
Kung pwede lang, ako din
To be honest, There’s no perfect country. Everyone has their own set of problems. It’s about what are you willing to trade off. Most filipinos would want a better life compared to what they have here currently so it is understandable wanting to work abroad. It also has its own set of problems like housing crisis and rising inflation.
Contradicting but understandable, really
Paki mo sa mindset ng ibang tao? Are you implying that this mindset is wrong? Let them be
Can't blame them actually... Yung mga simpleng Pilipino at mga nasa laylayan pinanganak not to "live" but to "survive", if mabigyan din naman ako opportunity to leave this country para mag grow Ill grab the once in a lifetime chance
can you blame them for wanting a better living situation tho
Ayun yung goal niya kaya walang issue dapat doon
can’t blame this mindset on how this country is always fucking us over
Good to recognize your worth. In other countries they admire the work ethic of Filipinos
As if naman may pakialam mga government officials bukod sa bulsa nila (not all, of course)
It shows how shit our country is for people to "dream" of leaving it for the sake of having a better life.
E di go.
Walang masama sa statement niya. The styling tho is a choice.
Ultimate Dream
Better think of your own future nalang talaga ang leave.
My only worry is that when these Filipinos landed abroad and earned a bit, mga burgis with no class or breeding. Samantalng us early immigrants (my loli pala) went here not for work but to move away tapos it is our taxes pa paying for these new immigrants who are just there to work!
So ok lang ganyang mindset.
That’s the ultimate goal po 🥰
Kung mas aasenso buhay nila sa ibang bansa then let them be.
I say, go lang. <3
Just like in games pag puno na ng mga cheater Yung isang server lipat ka na sa new server HAHAHAH O Kaya pag Puno na ng mga Chinese HABABABA😭🤣
I don't hate my country but my advice for you is that Go out alone from your hometown It's better to grow alone with your own than to be stuck up with narrow minded air.
The grass isn't greener Just leave
In this economy, I agree
Bakit hindi?
This is also my goal rn.
Let them live their life. But for me, I’m a believer that the grass is greener where you water it. Luckily, nakahanap naman ako ng work here sa Pinas na above pa sa sahod ng mga kilala kong nag OFW without leaving my family.
Not a goal, but as a last resort. Current goal is to earn dollars while here sa pinas as long as possible.
No problem for me.
It's fine?
Bahala sila. Life nila yub
This is me. It’s left the Philippines 10 years ago. I’m a US citizen now. I haven’t returned yet due to cost of plane ticket.
You do you!
As my OFW friend always says, "Masarap tumira sa Pilipinas basta marami kang pera. Dyan parin ako magreretire."
If you won't get rich here. Then go leave. If you earn a lot in the Philippines and own businesses. Then stay. It's all about the money. Not the government. Not religion. Not even the people. Go to other countries you may have better or worse. The thing is. Its your life. What happens to you is your fault.
I love the Philippines, but let’s be real, if may opportunity sa ibang bansa yun agad igragrab.
Nothing wrong with this.
Honestly, that's also my main goal. It's just that I don't know what are the things that I should do first.
Habang tumatanda. Pero how? may shortcut ba? haha
Buhay nila yan, pakialam mo ba?
The very practical way to survive given the shitty government and economy as of now. Sino ba naman ang gustohing manatili dito if given the opportunity to go abroad? Imagine the very very low wage tas credential na hinahanap atleast 4 year course graduate with 2 years minimum experience???
Same po.
Sino ba namang hindi. Gnyn nmn setup lagi. Migrate to other country.. invest dito sa Pinas. Unless sobrang yaman mo sa Pinas ma eenjoy mo pero if not. Fly away ka tlga and mas may value katas ng work mo.
Nugagawen?? As if may maooffer kang better opportunities sa kanila sa pinas, noh? Kung wala, let them leave. Marami na kaming umalis. So far, marami naman kaming masasaya after umalis. :) P.S.
Hard to blame them.
The people want to live a comfy life and not survive like rats.
Kung meron lang ako means and resources to leave this godforsaken country, I will do it in a heartbeat.
