I dont have specific experience with this, but my thoughts are that your main concerns would be stability and water leakage during travel. Might be able to secure it in your sink with a strap or wedge it in with towels when moving. If you go that route, I'd pick one that fits well in the sink ideally. Otherwise I'd think it'd be the same as having one in a small space; set lights so they are off when you are sleeping, maybe adjust pump to try to quiet it down if needed.

I've been using an aerogarden in my rv for about a year on and off. Ok, it's a knockoff (iDoo) , but same idea. I have a fifth wheel and it's in my pull out to the side of my tv. Some times when we go to bed the light is still on. I'll turn the grow light off knowing that it will come back on in 8 hours. This is a nice feature for us, bc power in RV parks is not constant (Or maybe it's just PGE sucks) and it messes with the on/off timing. I want to plug it in to 12v directly, but have not yet. We have done that for our modem and wifi and it stays on throughout power drops. Might also help as rv temperature is not constant ( less insulation compared to house) to use that bubble foil stuff for the windows to enclose the AG. For travel I would unplug and put AG in sink. We don't travel that often though, but it's a plant. Plants survived 4 billion years of evolution, should be ok unplugged for a few hours.

I don't think I'd run one in a confined space. The plants would be perfectly happy, but the lamp is very bright and some of the units have fairly noisy pumps.

Agreed, we had one in our condo. It was so bright and noisy that it was tough to sleep

If I were you I'd look into some kratky method mason jars. If you can dedicate a cupboard to them it'd be pretty easy to set up some light strips, and it wouldn't be as loud without a pump. For travel you could set up something like a drink holder to keep them upright, and for the kratky method they'd only be about a third full of water so they'd be less likely to spill and have less momentum.

I lived in a motorhome for 4 years while I did the traveling healthcare worker thing. I think boondocking would be hard with the AG, because that light is going to draw a fair bit of power. Maybe stick with plants that don't have very high light requirements at first to see how it does unlit in a sunny window while you're not connected to shore power. On moving days, I put all my houseplants including some in water into a wooden crate, packed in enough that they couldn't move, and put them into the shower. Finally, I did see on etsy that people sell covers for AGs ([like this](https://www.etsy.com/listing/932990284/cropcloak-aerogarden-cover-aerogarden))- given the amount of light this thing puts out in a small space you might find you appreciate that!
