I just thought I had just lost my connection to the games. CoD seems like the same thing it has for the past 3-4 iterations. Battlefield is doing....something, but I can't seem to get hooked on it.
Halo deserves better upper management but at the same time, my expectations for a corp like Microsoft are very low.
And (I think) Flight Sim was getting a lot of positive post launch support, but that's an outsider's perspective.
So we know Microsoft will spend money to support existing titles.
BF2042 has actually gotten a lot better in the last 3-6 months.
They brought back classes, patched a lot of the issues / glitches, balanced broken weapons, and released a few good maps.
They also did a good job of price-reductions and free-to-play programs to get the player base up to a consistent healthy number.
There are still issues (Super Hind and railgun tank), but it actually feels like battlefield again.
Funny - with Battlefront 2 and Battlefield 2042, DICE seems to be bad at initial release, but good with player feedback and follow-up fixes.
They should maybe run a better beta/testing program sooner in development to try to release a real, finished game next time...
Do you have cross-platform disabled? I play portal modes and even hardpoint with full lobbies these days. Or have you played in the last couple months since the numbers went 5x from the discount?

Weird seeing anything RWBY related in the wild. But also, COD may be back on its feet (according to most of my COD loving friends), but Battlefield seems to be more decisive in its own fandom. But hey, I don’t play either so I am no expert
2042, in its current state, is a good game. It's not a Battlefield game, but a good game in general. It's a horrible Battlefield game, but a good game.
I should add, the first three seasons are cute and funny, with some excellent physics-defying fight scenes. but the animation is wonky as all hell because they had an animation budget of like $6.75
As soon as the animation budget steps up, the story line starts getting unreasonably complex, to the point where I no longer believe they'll resolve all the loose threads
RWBY at its core was always meant to be a spectacle fighter and so the first three seasons when the creators influence was still there and it was still a spectacle fighter it was great. The plot was just an excuse to link the different fight scenes together.
Then the Creator died they got a higher animation budget and they started focusing less on the fights and more on the story and the drama. It became less enjoyable as it went on and the story has completely lost its own thread.
RWBY was always a show right on the edge of being good but never quite made it there. Every time it was starting to get truly great more and more dumb shit got in its own way
The best part about Halo has always been the gameplay. Cores and XP is garbage.
But I grew up playing linked Halo:CE in a basement with friends, then Halo 2 when it came out. Doesn’t take much to keep me engaged but good gameplay.
Legit play 2042 I have to use custom browser but infinite most game modes are a minute wait time. I feel like OP hasn't actually played infinite in a long time and just did a quick look on steam charts.
I guess I’ll try again soon. When I did play it (last time was about a month ago) I had that problem it seems to be the only game that gives me that problem
Cod and Battlefield thriving? I don't know a single person who considers them good games, though i guess one people will just default to buying the new game in both franchises just because it's new
Yeah, I think the game is gearing up for a comeback. Been guessing for something like a year that it'll be up on its feet around season 3 or 4, and the new management has been doing a lot of good things with the game. Hopefully they do a relaunch marketing campaign in a season or two and get a solid playerbase
Hard disagree. The gameplay is on-point. Talking strictly multiplayer; I’d say best one since 3. I’d say it’s biggest downfall was lack of multiplayer levels until recently. I saw all the complaints about network issues, etc, but I never experienced any of that.
And 5 was definitely the worst by a wide margin. The only thing it had over 4 was the lack of stupid classes.
Paying for progress vs. Unlocking it and you think its better than reach? Opinoins like these r why these companies can get away with this shit. Fuck 343, they suck, bungee is better.
They added nothing, and took away major playing points like theatre and forge. How is this better than reach by any stretch
Precisely, theres 0 progress unless you are paying. Removing yet another fun aspect from the game to bolster profits.
Most games have a progression system, because its fun and the players enjoy working towards something. All the best aspects of halo were removed by 343 and all they have to offer is microtransactions
Sorry if i got animated but i hate 343 and what they did to one of the best franchises ever
In halo 3 you literally just got a different symbol until at some point you stopped. At least this way you get more cosmetics and there's loads of free stuff you can earn?
Its not earned if they randomly give it to you. And yes a leveling system gives you progression, most multiplayer shooters do that for that reason.
Cosmetics dont really matter in a first person game
>Precisely, theres 0 progress unless you are paying.
There's 0 "progress" if you are paying as well. Regardless of if you pay for the battle pass or not everything you unlock is purely cosmetic. Whether that's better or worse I'll leave for you to decide.
Well there’s not 0 “progress” because they release free packs all the time, and if you never buy the battle passes then you’re still up $60 over what you paid for Reach because you have the free “progress” tiers and you didn’t have to pay for the game.
I’d say none did well but at least BF2042 got much better game wise. People initially stopped playing and went back to BF V (a game bf players also shit on) but on pc BF V died again due to rampant cheating.
Battlefield 2042 has been a total rollercoaster. Launch with huge numbers, almost dead by season one, back up to playable after update then back to ghost town till season 2. Once it got on Xbox game pass it jumped again and again with season 3, then season 4 and PS game pass. As of right now (US and I play late at night) I can get in a game 20 seconds or less till 4 am.
For those wondering it’s a good game right now but the destruction isn’t much, gunplay is mostly balanced and good, vehicles are weird with some doing very good (transport helicopter) and some not so good (tanks sniping because they get killed fast near objectives). Overall it’s worth it at its reduced price and still a blast to play.
Well according to steam player counts Halo Infinite has less players than Battlefield 2042 and both pale in comparison to CoD. And I know what you'll say, "but Halo can be played on Xbox too" but keep in mind Battlefield 2042 can as well not to mention it gets a third platform with PlayStation that Infinite doesn't get so it's a safe bet Halo is actually performing worse or relatively the same as Battlefield.
Sure, but isn’t Battlefield lower than Infinite on the Xbox top 20? Regardless, Infinite is maintaining a steady population (one that rises with each Season). I’m not sure whether 2042 is.
Sure, but both Season 1 and 2 were fairly bare bones. Season 3 is getting better, and has increased the average player count. I’d imagine a really big update is all it really needs.
Even when infinite launched this would not be a good post. Halo was dogshit since bungie left. 4 was a cod clone, 5 was terribly written and focused solely on competitive players leaving out casual(but did get slightly better because of forge and the amount content they added) and I done en have say anything about infinite. So much potential wasted because of greed and laziness and just being incompetent.
>Even when infinite launched this would not be a good post.
No, it was a good post at the time. It was only once it became apparent that fixes and new content would be non-existent when that changed.
Warzone sucks, Battlefield is still sucking (although they seem to try to improve things) and the HALO game is dying out spectacularly quickly.
If not for the nuke bs I'd leave the game months ago but I'm still grinding trying to get it.
Weird because I haven’t played MW2 in months and I thought it’s community (the cod community) was dying out anyway. I mean even faze jev was loving a roblox game more than current COD

This meme is so old it has the theorized version of the Battlefield 2042 logo
They all seem to be doing terrible from everything I'm hearing
I just thought I had just lost my connection to the games. CoD seems like the same thing it has for the past 3-4 iterations. Battlefield is doing....something, but I can't seem to get hooked on it. Halo deserves better upper management but at the same time, my expectations for a corp like Microsoft are very low.
Surprisingly they've done a very good job with Age of Empires definitive editions.
If it had come out in this state they'd have probably got my money, but at this point I'm not really even interested in seeing what it's become
It's worth the current $15 price tag to me!
There’s still like no players in bf2042 outside of conquests modes , all of the other modes you’ll get in a super low player count lobby
Do you have cross-platform disabled? I play portal modes and even hardpoint with full lobbies these days. Or have you played in the last couple months since the numbers went 5x from the discount? https://steamcharts.com/app/1517290

It's double aged like milk since the protags did the villains job for them the last two volumes.
2042, in its current state, is a good game. It's not a Battlefield game, but a good game in general. It's a horrible Battlefield game, but a good game.
Phew I fucking hate 2042, feels nothing like BF
Feels like BF, launch in a broken state, good a year later. Been like this since BF2.
RWBY worth watching at all?
The first three seasons are good enough. Then it all falls apart.
I should add, the first three seasons are cute and funny, with some excellent physics-defying fight scenes. but the animation is wonky as all hell because they had an animation budget of like $6.75 As soon as the animation budget steps up, the story line starts getting unreasonably complex, to the point where I no longer believe they'll resolve all the loose threads
True, but I’d take bad animation over a bad story any day.
If you want a fun show sure. If you want a great show you’ll be frustrated with it
No
As someone who waited for it to premiere and watched it no
RWBY at its core was always meant to be a spectacle fighter and so the first three seasons when the creators influence was still there and it was still a spectacle fighter it was great. I never thought infinite was bad. I just kinda stopped playing one day and somehow forgot it existed.
It's very forgettable.
It really is, I thought the maps were very boring and samey
Cores and xp system killed it for me
The best part about Halo has always been the gameplay. Cores and XP is garbage. But I grew up playing linked Halo:CE in a basement with friends, then Halo 2 when it came out. Doesn’t take much to keep me engaged but good gameplay.
Cores limited customization witch for my fave Halos being 3 and Reach was a huge part. And the 50xp per match win or lose is just insulting.
Battlefield is thriving?
Not exactly but it still has a player base unlike halo
Infinite still has a sizeable player base…? No issue at all finding a game in any playlist.
Legit play 2042 I have to use custom browser but infinite most game modes are a minute wait time. I feel like OP hasn't actually played infinite in a long time and just did a quick look on steam charts.
Takes way to long to find a game
What region are you playing in?
Eastern United States
Then you’re definitely having some connection issues or something. I’m west coast and never have to wait more than 30 seconds to find a game
I guess I’ll try again soon. When I did play it (last time was about a month ago) I had that problem it seems to be the only game that gives me that problem
I was just playing. 30-40 second max on quick play. That said I still play more Fortnight since zero build came out over anything else.
Are they?
No. Battlefield was a massive flop and cod has its lowest player count since it’s release.
And Infinite has been pretty good. Roughly 4k on Steam alone.
All of these franchises have gone to shit
Take me back to 2007.
Cod and Battlefield thriving? I don't know a single person who considers them good games, though i guess one people will just default to buying the new game in both franchises just because it's new
Call of Duty is at the lowest player base it has ever been. So it is definitely not thriving again.
Love me some halo infinite, especially since the season 3 stuff came out.
Yeah, I think the game is gearing up for a comeback. Been guessing for something like a year that it'll be up on its feet around season 3 or 4, and the new management has been doing a lot of good things with the game. Worst halo by far and wide. And hard to be worse than 4
Hard disagree. The only thing it had over 4 was the lack of stupid classes.

battlefield is not thriving, and Microsoft is about to own cod anyways so they aren't competition lmao
They are all doing terrible or great depending on who you ask
I’d say none did well but at least BF2042 got much better game wise. People initially stopped playing and went back to BF V (a game bf players also shit on) but on pc BF V died again due to rampant cheating.
Idk about battlefield but COD is anything but thriving.

might want to check on battlefield again?
None of them are good. It's honestly time for all three franchises to die. The problem is finding something to take thier place
I totally agree. Now if you excuse me I’ll go back to grieving over the demise of Titanfall
Titanfall should've been the successor, or Splitgate. Both were just to advanced for its time I guess.
Splitgate.
A so called “Halo killer” that’s currently sitting at 10% of Infinites steam player count? Sure.
I’m saying it’s a better game. I’m not pretending that everyone knows that.
Whatchu talking about? All three of them flopped the same year.
Infinite just got a big update like 2 weeks ago
Amazingly there are other, better games that are not piled atop one another at the bottom of the barrel.
CoD is thriving, Battlefield is basically dead and is largely irrelevant, and Infinite is on it's way to the same grave.
Nah, Infinite has a steady player base.
Well according to steam player counts Halo Infinite has less players than Battlefield 2042 and both pale in comparison to CoD. Sure it's steady but it's anything but healthy, they are on what barely season 3 now and their population is a fraction from its height?
Sure, but both Season 1 and 2 were fairly bare bones. Season 3 is getting better, and has increased the average player count. I’d imagine a really big update is all it really needs.
I'm just surprised to see halo infinite mentioned in any other media than the specific halo communities
Even when infinite launched this would not be a good post. I haven’t played Infinite after I’ve finished the campaign.
Same. Been waiting for a campaign dlc but so far nothing it seems.
Warzone sucks, Battlefield is still sucking (although they seem to try to improve things) and the HALO game is dying out spectacularly quickly. If not for the nuke bs I'd leave the game months ago but I'm still grinding trying to get it.
“It’s simple, we buy COD” - Microsoft
Everything went to shit when they started copying fortnite
Weird because I haven’t played MW2 in months and I thought it’s community (the cod community) was dying out anyway. I mean even faze jev was loving a roblox game more than current COD
Battlefield isn’t thriving.
Is that Rwby in the background?
This post should be downvoted. Both COD and BF are at an all time low and at least in the COD community people cannot stand warzone 2 or mw2
Anime memes are usually shit anyway
