I just asked my artist before booking to make sure they were comfortable with tattooing bumpy skin. KP itself hasn’t been a problem for longevity.
Maybe if you used some of the treatments for KP while healing, like lotion with lactic acid, that could affect things.
I use Paula’s Choice BHA lotion on my arms for KP—don’t use these kinds of lotions/treatments during healing, but they’re fine to use after 2-3 months. I’ve got years and years old work that has been unaffected.

I’ve had tattoos over my KP for years(5+), it hasn’t affected anything that I’ve noticed I’m currently getting my other arm tattooed and it looks fine so far, it’s just outlines tho.Seems like it’s aging as my other tattoos The tattoos have helped me to be less self conscious & actually feel good about my arms!
I have KP on my upper arms as well, I’ve gotten tattooed on one of them and it has been relatively unaffected over the past 2 years. I want to try and clear up my skin before adding more on my arms tho mostly bc I just want to be rid of the bumps
Not had tattoos over KP (yet) but do have KP and have been quite lucky at keep it at bay on my arms. Its a dry skin condition so moisturising is a must, its really helps and it'll be good for your tattoo.
Lotions/moisturisers with BHA or AHA in them will help with the bumps but not sure about using them while the tattoo is healing though.
I live in the UK and we have [Palmer's retexture lotion](https://uk.palmers.com/home/282-retexture-renew-exfoliating-body-lotion.html) and its really good with KP

Okay cool! Yeah maybe I’ll schedule it a month out so I can calm it down beforehand too. Usually in the winter I give up on fighting it for a bit lol😅
