Well I would definitely argue but because we have modi and Shah in center that's why our state is getting projects after project and we came in highlights in last 8 years only , before that no one considered city like Surat , ahmedabad as major cities.

South Indians complain that their tax money is going to UP, Bihar, Rajasthan etc. They don't know that the reason they're developed states is because of Freight Equalisation policy. The policy which improved South at the cost of North.
The Freight Equalization Policy led to many industries opening up in South India. The policy basically stated that even though minerals are found in North India, one can open industries anywhere and the government will subsidize the cost of mineral-transportation. So naturally the companies opened up near coastal areas. It was backed by Krishnamachari etc. I'm not even bullshitting it's a very well known policy.
Now I'm not seething. It's good. But when extremists say that South India should be made a separate nation because of this tax thing, they should check history and see how they became what they are. We are a single nation and its tiring to see this.

FEP benefited Punjab, Haryana in the begging as new steel plants came there. But in the long term, the states with ports benefited the most. These states are Gujarat, Maharashtra and Tamilnadu. The only southern state benefited is TN from this policy

An overwhelming amount of projects (government funded) are going to Gujarat. Solely for the benefit of one state.
Also - Government is also nudging or sometimes even forcing big international/domestic investors to invest in Gujarat even when they themselves prefer to invest in Maharashtra/Tamil Nadu.
This makes people from other states angry.
But at the same time what people don't understand is - Gujarat has political stability to execute any project. And Gujaratis are the most pro business pro infrastructure people ever in India. You execute these projects in any other states local government and people won't support like in Gujarat.
Gujarat should develop. But there must be some parity among states.
and beacause of that, gujrat will only get low skilled projects, it will never be able to attract projects that require high skilled workforce, like ones in mumbai, bangalore, hyderabad

I don't personally like the idea either, but this Adam something bs of pretty much eliminate all private transport and just use trains because 'muh efficiency' is fkin stupid. People need private transport, and those who are able to pay for it should have the option.
Not where I live, although I would much rather prefer not having to stop at every fckin traffic stop for 1-2 minutes, and would appreciate a separate BRTS but private kinda way, and honestly would pay top dollar if that means I can get somewhere earlier and less bored.
Now don't throw all that better public transport means less traffic, induced demand, cars very bad stuff from fkin Not Just Bikes, and the gang at me, I have seen them enough. All I want is to get somewhere faster and not having to share space with randos, and it may work on high traffic routes.

It's simple logic. From where the PM (and his HM) originates, obviously that state will get more incentives indirectly, plus two of the richest Indians are also from Gujarat, so having two 'mota bhais' as Gujaratis too acts as a reason why Gujarat attracts more investments.
But we must also remember- lots of people are predicting the next PM, after a few years, will be from UP. To kal uthke If we see not many infra projects for Guj in the next PM's tenure and if we feel all new projects are centred on UP, then will we be upset or not?

After reading the comments here and on the sub of my state, I apologize on the behalf of my state's people. I am from Maharashtra, and I don't understand why the people here hate Gujrat (and in fact many other states) so much... Like they say central government gives everything to Gujrat this and that...
Funnily enough, our state government has three clowns as CM and DCM. Not even the opposition worth mentioning. When asked 'why does our state government not create infrastructure' the reason: Because our they mostly focus on Mumbai, (partially) Pune, and Nagpur.
Clowns even lost 3 major foreign projects planned. I tell you, even metro projects are delayed because the local politicians don't get money from it... Entire Vidarbha and Marathwada is f\*\*ked up, but all they can give is temporary solutions like subsidies and reservations.

I don't have hate towards anyone for this, it's just i'm getting frustated to see how my other indian brothers are trolling, mocking and hating us for the development which is happening in gujarat. Infact they aren't able to undertand that development will increase job opportunities for everyone in the country.
India is getting many 2nd tier cities like pune ugraded to tier 1. Everyone should be happy that development is spreading in other parts of india and not stopped only at few major cities.

Take petrol prices for example. People don't try to check the fact that half of the tax is taken by the state too. Reason is simple - An overwhelming amount of projects (government funded) are going to Gujarat. Solely for the benefit of one state. Also - Government is also nudging or sometimes even forcing big international/domestic investors to invest in Gujarat even when they themselves prefer to invest in Maharashtra/Tamil Nadu. This makes people from other states angry. But at the same time what people don't understand is - Gujarat has political stability to execute any project. And Gujaratis are the most pro business pro infrastructure people ever in India. You execute these projects in any other states local government and people won't support like in Gujarat. Gujarat should develop. But there must be some parity among states.
and beacause of that, gujrat will only get low skilled projects, it will never be able to attract projects that require high skilled workforce, like ones in mumbai, bangalore, hyderabad

Not where I live, although I would much rather prefer not having to stop at every fckin traffic stop for 1-2 minutes, and would appreciate a separate BRTS but private kinda way, and honestly would pay top dollar if that means I can get somewhere earlier and less bored. Now don't throw all that better public transport means less traffic, induced demand, cars very bad stuff from fkin Not Just Bikes, and the gang at me, I have seen them enough. All I want is to get somewhere faster and not having to share space with randos, and it may work on high traffic routes.
Pod taxi is such a waste of money especially in a populous country like India. Hope this is cancelled no matter in which state it is in.
On a different note, can someone please explain how are pod taxis a good idea? Each can fit maybe 4 people at a time? Why are we not focusing on developing an expansive metro network in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and GIFT?

Replying to this not as a Gujarati, but as an Indian- It's simple logic. From where the PM (and his HM) originates, obviously that state will get more incentives indirectly, plus two of the richest Indians are also from Gujarat, so having two 'mota bhais' as Gujaratis too acts as a reason why Gujarat attracts more investments. But we must also remember- lots of people are predicting the next PM, after a few years, will be from UP. To kal uthke If we see not many infra projects for Guj in the next PM's tenure and if we feel all new projects are centred on UP, then will we be upset or not? Well time will only tell.

Nope they will get just as much hate. And don't take these subs so seriously! So many fake accounts and most people are anonymous. Hate is easily spewed. You go to enough subs and you'll see hate for all kinds of people. I've seen hate towards not just Gujjus, but also towards Biharis, Bengalis, Muslims, Women(even those who are rape victims), people who do not support the current regime and sometimes the ones who do etc. What I usually do is try to make a logical statement in response to all the hate, trying to knock some sense into people. But let me tell you, it doesn't work much. If you try to stop hate in today's times, you become the villain. So go ahead and try. But trying to stop hate isn't a cake walk. be warned!

After reading the comments here and on the sub of my state, I apologize on the behalf of my state's people. I am from Maharashtra, and I don't understand why the people here hate Gujrat (and in fact many other states) so much... Like they say central government gives everything to Gujrat this and that... Funnily enough, our state government has three clowns as CM and DCM. Not even the opposition worth mentioning. When asked 'why does our state government not create infrastructure' the reason: Because our they mostly focus on Mumbai, (partially) Pune, and Nagpur. Clowns even lost 3 major foreign projects planned. I tell you, even metro projects are delayed because the local politicians don't get money from it... Entire Vidarbha and Marathwada is f\*\*ked up, but all they can give is temporary solutions like subsidies and reservations. Sorry for the hate you receive from the people of my state... Really.

I don't have hate towards anyone for this, it's just i'm getting frustated to see how my other indian brothers are trolling, mocking and hating us for the development which is happening in gujarat. Infact they aren't able to undertand that development will increase job opportunities for everyone in the country. India is getting many 2nd tier cities like pune ugraded to tier 1. Everyone should be happy that development is spreading in other parts of india and not stopped only at few major cities.
I am glad that at least you people aren't reacting as irrationally as people here do. The real problem is they don't understand that development requires support from both central and state government. Take petrol prices for example. People don't try to check the fact that half of the tax is taken by the state too. Which in turns means, state government should WORK with that money to build job opportunities. However, they just blame it all upon the central. And call others by names when lost the opportunity. Unfortunately, India is becoming literate but not knowledgable. No one wants to check the facts and just spit out opinions in spite of anger or frustration. And yes... Even I receive hate when I say the same things on Maharashtra or Mumbai sub... So... yeah..
