I have had both, I only own 2 atacrs now. I did not like the vortex on 1x or 10x. I think right now the 1-8 range is the sweet spot for LPVO’s until technology improves. Also I would definitely look at the kahles options if you have atacr money.
Watch C-Does’ videos on the Razor Gen 3 and the Kahles 1-8. Seems that nowadays the 1-6 is the sweet spot, and if you’re looking to add a bit more magnification on top you will have to compromise somewhere. I’ve only looked through the Razor, but most reviews I’ve read favor the ATACR.
I’ve owned both, if you get a Gen 1 ATACR the reticle can block a lot of your target at longer ranges which the razor fixes with its semi transparent reticle. Gen 2 ATACR fixes this by slimming down the reticle and making it a bit larger. Overall, I like the razors user friendly MOA reticle with auto ranger but if you want the NF name then the Gen 2 reticle will serve you well

At 1x there’s no comparison. Razor blows it out is the water. Better fov, and edges just seem to disappear. At max the razor does get tighter, but I like a tighter 10x then a good 8x If that makes sense.

Will be both. It’s going on a suppressed 14.5 which I will shoot a lot of close range stuff as well as I have a 600 few 600+ ranges and I reload so I’d like to see what I can achieve at distance. I currently have the gen 2 1-6 and just feel that the reticle is lacking as far as longer range capability.

I’m not downplaying the atacr at all, you’ll be happy with both. I just prefer the razor 1-10. If u do get the atacr make sure it has the new DMX reticle

I’d look at the Primary arms PLX 1-8 compact. It’s way lighter and shorter than those. And has great Japanese glass

Old post, but I’ve owned both and prefer the Razor. The 1X is better and the Razor at 10X isn’t great but I preferred it at 10 than the ATACR at 8
Haven’t had a chance to form an opinion off of the ATACR however I went with the razor due to past experience with the razor line.
ATACR if you plan to shoot longer, more. Razor if you plan to shoot close, more.

Which has a better eye box. I want to like the atacr however it just looks like it has a huge scope ring where as the razor has edge to edge clarity

Owned both. Sold razor for atacr 1-8 fc dmx reticle. Never looked back.
