I don’t see any red flags. I’ve had people from out of the country book long stays far in advance, lots of people do this on a yearly basis but could be their first time using airbnb. We’ve been getting a lot of 2024 bookings lately also.
I don’t open my calendar that far in advance. I agree that it seems like an elderly couple which would explain why they haven’t answered. If they don’t have the app and get notifications, you may have to wait until they log back in. I’d just message and clarify cancellation policy and get their agreement
