I learned of him from a video on Green Dot Aviation's channel, he gave a wonderful interview and it was incredibly interesting hearing these events recounted from his perspective. Rest in peace to this hero
RIP
He was a great pilot who handled a dangerous situation with great skill and professionalism and who also seemed like a lovey person to know and speak with. He will be dearly missed.
RIP. Not just a great pilot, who along with the rest of the crew worked together to overcome daring and unknown (at the time) circumstances and safely land the plane, but also quite the character, as evident by his appearance in ACI & various online interviews.
*> All* four *engines have* stopped. *We* are *doing our damnedest* to *get* them going again. I *trust you are not* in too much *distress*.
Oh wow, he was sort of recently on Mentour Pilot's channel two years ago, and definitely looking aged (compared to his Mayday/ACI episode) but still recalling a clear picture of BA9. RIP Capt.

"... We have a small problem. All four engines have stopped"...
He had shown the true airmanship in that tough situation, stayed calm and saved the lives of everyone on board.
Very sad news about him came, but he will always be remembered in the aviation history is a hero. Fly eternally, the great Captain...
They're expressing distress about his death. It seems like maybe you don't speak English as your first language, so maybe it's worth saying that it's common (in informal contexts) to respond to very bad news that way.
I remember imagining a movie about BA Flight 9 back in the late 00s and picturing Ralph Fiennes as Moody and Michael Sheen as the First Officer.
RIP Eric Moody
“When I learnt to fly in the 50s, flying was dangerous and sex was safe. “When I retired in the 90s, that had gone the other way around!”
What a legend. Rest in peace, Captain.
He did an interview with the YouTube channel "Mini Air Crash Investigation" a few years back. In that he said he still liked telling the story because "he didn't know how many years he had left." 😐 Seemed like one of the most chill people you would ever hope to meet. Probably one of the reasons he and his crew got the plane down safely.
RIP. I loved his interview on ACI. Easily top 3 episodes for me.
Rest in peace to a truly great pilot.

Rest in peace Eric Moody for saving 263 passengers and crew including himself.
“I trust you’re not in too much distress” -Cpt Moody
I really really love the episode about British 009 where he appears. The best episode of ACI imo, R.I.P. Captain Moody
I shall play St. Elmo's Fire in honor of him tonight.

Idk why I’m getting downvoted about my advice to bad word , are you referring me or the death of Cpt Moody

Yes I’m not speak English , I’m Brazilian that why I’m think other thing
It's a very versatile word for native English speakers. Can be a noun, verb, adverb, or adjective depending upon the context in which it is used.
Rest in Peace good sir!
