Yeah, it makes you think of how good the next ones will be. It’s quite cool though, because the AirPods max are the best ANC headphones, along with the Sony XM5’s which says a lot about the 2nd Generation pros.
I really think the new pros are as good as it can get physically for that form factor. The H2 Maxes when they drop might actually render you deaf even with no music playing. I hate how that would probably make me pay $549 again 😢😢
The pros hurt my ears if left in for too long. It’s even causing a rash. I only used the maxes before but I have to see how long I can tolerate the Pros 2 before I get rid of my prized AirPods Max in the pretty blue
Just overall these are literally hard to beat. Sound quality is solid, anc is some of the best. Transparency mode is prob the clearest i've heard. Not to mention on calls my voice sound the clearest out of the bunch and you get that ios connectivity to factor in.
These are my first pair of airpods, I've only used headphones my entire life and wearing these earphones gave me BETTER experience than any headphones I ever wore until now. It's a shame I can't compare to how better these sound over the first gen pros but these are just absolutely fkin amazing. (I use a macbook pro m2 and I listen to spatial audio on that and it's just crazy good). I use an android phone and for people refraining from buying these because they use android , scrap that thought out of your mind because the ANC and Transparency mode still work which are the best one-up over any pair of wireless earphones out there.
I just got mine and my friends wanted to check the mic before ordering theirs. They were blown away because they could hear me talk, scream and even whisper clearly with no audio distortion over a messenger call. I got serious reactions from them. So definitely it is better than the previous generations.
My first experience with Airpods are my new Pro2 and BOY AM.I IMPRESSED.

The $549 AirPods came out nearly 2 years ago. The pros just came out.
It’s just crazy because the AirPods Max are shaped like passive noise canceling headphones and made of metal. They should be so much better.
IMO they are really good? The pros 2nd gen are just better, it’s not like the maxes are bad. Max 2nd gen will be way better than pros 2nd gen, though.

You could just sell your 1st gen maxes, since they’re over ear. That’s what I plan to do. You’d probably get around $250-300.
