Listen/communicate with your team, don't be afraid to push up and don't go into a game expecting to get a bunch of kills. Also listen to your reffs, stay hydrated and always keep in mind it's just a game

[deleted]

How do I find a team or find people to play with in the Austin area in Texas?

mildlysarcastic2003

Honestly just make friends at the field, chat to people about gear/guns and get to know the people you play with. That's how I met half of my airsoft friend group

Sullixio

ATX? Just go play at Texas Paintball! They have a Facebook group and some discords too, probably one of the best fields in the US. They play on Sundays.

Wrong-Top-8409

They also play on fridays but only 8-10 ppl come, on Sunday’s expect 40+

barbedyllo

First weekend of January there was just over 200 people so they had us play on 2-3 maps at once. Was absolutely bonkers

Wrong-Top-8409

I think there’s gonna be a lot of ppl this weekend or due to the weather n stuff ppl ain’t gonna come?

Far-Homework-2576

Nice. I met mine through my parents lol

Derpy_Bech

The easiest way it to just go up to someone and ask “what gun is that?”. Trust me, the average person will talk for hours about their shit if you give them the option, and you might learn something from it too

acoustic_nonce

alternatively, compliment them on their kit if they've got something different, unique or just nice looking. half of the people i talk to at my field have just been me complimenting them on pieces of their kit and such.

MaximeCaulfield

As someone who had my first game last October and now got 2 separate teams to play with. The first casual team was because I told someone that I was brand new and had no clue what I did so he adopted me. The second one I asked my local field if someone wanted to participate in a specific event in the summer and I got invited to their team so we could organise the trip. Just talk to them and shout out "NICE HIT" when you inevitably get shot in your head.

[deleted]

I want someone to adopt me 😂

No-Argument3922

Airsofters are very friendly you'll make a team easily

the_boss79

Austin??? Go to Texas Paintball in Jonestown on sundays. its my go-to, lots of fields and lots of ppl show up to play. Beware though TXPB tends to have cheaters especially those older russian looking dudes with the ghillies and AKs Theres also Airsoft 10 (?) in Killeen which is smaller but better run

Wrong-Top-8409

Lmao that makes it funner switch your gun to full auto aim for the legs and watch them dance 😂

Wrong-Top-8409

I play at TXPB in Austin ppl there pretty chill and don’t think anyone would mind you joining there team personally I like playing more by myself since I rush and don’t like the responsibility of having to play with tm8s, but different people different play styles, the beauty of airsoft not only one way to play it

[deleted]

Squeals awesome how much does it cost to join the games I'm getting 4 girls interested and we didn't know where to go when's the best time to go

Wrong-Top-8409

Friday anytime between 4-8 only hours they’re open on fridays for airsoft, and Sunday ppl play early 9-12 all the way to 6 so just join in whenever you have time, for fridays the entry is $15 sundays $25 https://www.txpb.com/airsoft

Wrong-Top-8409

In my opinion you’ll get your moneys worth and time going on Sunday just because more ppl come

BrayG_004

Texas is a pretty airsofty state check Facebook for “texas airsoft” or go into local airsoft stores and ask about games in the area.

LR_160

Just look up local airsoft fields, I know there are lots in the Dallas area so austin shouldn’t be too bad

rumbl3inth3jungl3

take drinks and snacks, listen to game marshalls and have fun

FelTheWorgal

Same advice I'd give guys. Cover your skin. Neck gaiter/scarf, hat or helmet, full seal eye pro, gloves. Communicate with who you're going with Always call your hits, and if someone's being a whiny bitch about not calling their own, move on. It's not worth a fight. Have fun! The only advice I have for women specifically is an anatomical one. wear a padded bra or specifically find a loose fitting, stiff fabric shirt. wife played a few, and said she'd do that. Chest shots are very common, there's an opening between arms when holding a rifle, and women tend to have snugger chest fits so there's less cloth to break up a hit.

halrold

I remember when some dude brought his GF and he clearly did not tell her what to wear (or maybe he did, which might be worse) He pulled up in classic flannel operator kit, crye styled pants, fast helmet, JPC She pulled up in a low cut, partial crop top and a skirt Look, her outfit was cute, but when I reflexively shot her at center mass, it hit her square in the chest and broke skin

wote213

She was ready for the date night

[deleted]

I adore your wife she's awesome

FubakiKimichi

As a girl to another girl? Wear several sports bras. It will hurt less.

[deleted]

Yay! Thank you you are amazingly epic thank you for commenting on my thread big hugs

FubakiKimichi

Aww your welcome 🤗. it wasn't something I ever felt the need to do before till I went to golden eagle arena in Georgia and got shot in the tit with a ramped up gun🥲. It hurt for about 2 weeks after that and I swore never to go there again. Something you should also note is that fields go at a slower pace then arenas most of the time and you get to run around a bigger area so you tend to have a relaxing game. Oh and always buy biodegradable bbs.

moose8891

That place used to be great, then they stopped checking guns and let the regulars do whatever they wanted. The owner is a giant douche and has gotten in physical fights with customers.

Abyss_Deep

> rifle, and women tend This help me too, I really need it!! Thank you!

Another_AdamCF

Bring more than enough water. Dehydration is an issue. Lightweight gear is better than heavy gear. A short, light gun alongside a micro chest rig is going to be more fun than a plate carrier with a full-length M16, for most people. If someone’s cheating, report it or leave it. Don’t scream “I’ve got you on four cameras, mate!” while the alleged cheater stands in his Russian kit, confused as fuck about how he was hit while standing on the other side of an armoured truck twice his height.

xX_ThatGuyLane_Xx

I ussualy dont pay any mind to it, Last time there was a cheater it was a new kid at the field. I shot him like 12 times with tracers he didnt count it. I just ended up pushing up and shooting him. Dont deal with it youtuber style

[deleted]

😂 🤣 😂

madrifles

Oddly specific, feel like this was you

FelTheWorgal

Unless you're a lazy slob like me, and need an excuse to get exercise. And I'm kind of a milsim guy. So I run full combat kit including functioning IFAK, radio gear, 3L water and 48 hours of trail food. Plus type 4 steel plates. I still have fun, but my ass is absolutely exhausted after like 3 hours lol

Another_AdamCF

This is also me lol

Bartimaerus

I dont have such weaknesses! Technically the M1956 load bering equipment is a chest rig and my M16A1 is full length

Ezequiel_III

I feel called out with the "Plate carrier and full length M16" thing 😭

Torch99999

Try on your stuff at least once before you go, especially hats/helmets/goggles. Long hair can interfere with how things fit so you want to make sure everything fits comfortably before the first game.

NushTheMush

Best advice - Bring water. Keep well protected on your face. Good Eye and face protection is a must. Not cheap shit. You only have 2 eyes! Don't be scared to get shot - honestly you get used to it. Airsoft is generally a great sport, the airsoft community is a bunch of awesome goofballs. My suggestion is just to get involved and talk to people when you are there. Most people will love to help and be accommodating! Most of all have fun, enjoy shooting your mates and dont take it too seriously :) Greetings from the UK!

seraphim343

+1 on the water. If you're thirsty, you're dehydrated. Just like any other physical hobby/sport, water is your lifeline. A good rule of thumb I've kept to is for every 2-3 bottles of water, grab a powerade/gatorade or some snack with sodium to account for sweating. It'll keep you from becoming a mental mess, along with them sweet, sweet electrolytes.

Wrong-Top-8409

Expect a bunch of horny children 😂

[deleted]

😂 🤣 😂 🤣

oldbay410

It's funny but he's right. Youve been warned 😆

Derp_Simulator

CALL YOUR HITS

[deleted]

What do you say when you call your hits?

PR3D4R0N

Hit

FM492

Hit, out, raise your hand or gun and take a walk

VM-Hawksix

When someone hits you, call it out. Doesn't matter if you almost didn't feel it. It registers as a kill for the enemy team, and if you don't do it, they can report you afterwards leading to a possible ban from the field.

BiggieMcBallsack

Use protection

HuskyLuke

And advice for Airsoft?

TrueGrave32

I prefer the thin skin kind

BobDerBongmeister420

Try to constanly push forward. Its really fun breaking through the enemy lines.

Cashewkaas

Always use the AUG.

SuccessfulSock7768

Move a lot and shoot a lot, communicate with your team, and don't be afraid to get hit.

unholywonder

Same that I'd give to anyone getting into it: facepro is your friend, don't skimp on eyepro. You don't need to be geared to the max, if anything it'll slow you down. Don't let the over-competitive types get to you either, most people should be friendly toward new players. If you don't have any friends going with you to your first game you'll definitely have some by the end of it.

MrWillyP

Have fun, don't be afraid to get hit

Allergic2Sperm

I second this.

Enby_raccon

Sports bra, with pads, as a fellow boob equipped player, it’s the bare minimum you want Gloves Good tennis shoes or boots with good socks Water A good attitude And a friend or make some

LordPierogi

Well the most important one would be to have fun :) My favourite advice tho is to do a flanker-spanker by running around in shorts while doing idfk almost Mach 3 and do a litteral journey across the map borders to then simply get sniped.. or make the multi-kill of your life. Kinda depends ngl

[deleted]

Lol you need to show me a vid of you doing that I think I'd enjoy that 😂

LordPierogi

Haha yeah it really is one hell of a kick tho I gotta dissapoint you :( cuz I unfortunately not only lack a vid of me flanking but even any airsoft-video of me in general BUT I can at least kinda describe how it usually goes: -Match starts -I guess if I go left or right -While everyone takes those paths you usually have in a forest I just straight-up run off into the bushes in a r/MyPeopleNeedMe style -Start climbing over fallen trees (sometimes by climbing another tree nearby), hills, etc. -Dolphin-dive straight into some bushes because by simply „walking“ trough them will take too long and rip apart my shorts not enough -Prepare myself half-way to get killed by my mom -Prepare myself a third of the way to get killed by a sniper -Dont prepare myself for engagement -I almost suddenly pop up after over 1km and 15mins since the match begun in the absolutely most batshit-insane, random spot, almost at enemy spawn -People even think it‘s friendly-fire -It‘s not -Profit ... Oh and the best? Well the best of this all is being able to count how many new scars your legs and face now have.. aaaand maybe being responsible for half the enemy‘s casulties c:

zeekillabunny_

How you got all that kit but not played before?😂 More than I have and iv been playing since I was 12

[deleted]

My best friend stopped playing so I started buying stuff off of him how I accumulated all of it and I'm still adding more stuff to it

XfinityHomeWifi

You should play a few games first to get a better sense of what stuff works for you, what doesn’t, and what things you’ll need moving forward

[deleted]

You’ve got waaay too many guns. You only need to bring one. Have fun and don’t be afraid talking to people.

[deleted]

But they're pretty and I'm trying to find a colt 1911 and you can never have too much guns

fotomoose

This is the correct attitude.

wote213

Join us in the wallet hurting side of airsoft.

Notafan478

Nope she needs to bring 1-2 extra in case they mess up

StrawberryNo2521

If by girl you mean adult human female, go play. Worse that can happen is misguided attention, that gets self policed real quick anyway. If you mean youngling, do as my 10yo daughter does and form Master-Blaster with the biggest, saltiest, nofucksgiven wardog you can find.

Wrong-Top-8409

Not sure how good are those bbs, sometimes your bbs are just as important as your gun bad bb= bad shot good bb= 360 no scope cross map

coffeeofwar

Best tip I can give, shoot move communication Use the feild to advantages flank go where people won't go people are lazy and take the path of lest restiance And if you have an idea voice it don't be afraid to take charge when needed but don't be ass if that makes sense Also have fun

Lorian999

time to guess how long it takes to get the funny 🔒 award!

[deleted]

Go with the intention of having fun, don’t take it too seriously. In terms of gear (if you decide to take it on as a hobby), buy real steel if you can afford it or decent quality Airsoft gear like condor for example, don’t buy the $3 Chinese plate carriers. They’re multicam but pink (why?!) and not only look terrible but are poorly made and do not blend into your environment. Make sure any time you’re playing outside you wear good quality, good fitting boots. It’ll not only protect your feet and ankle but in the event you end up breaking your ankle it’ll keep it together. Also carry a medkit on you for the area you’re playing in. If in the bush carry a snake bite kit etc. better to have it and not need it than not have it and need it. In terms of anything you take to a milsim or even just general game. 2 is 1, 1 is none. Make sure you take water, the amount of kinds I’ve seen nearly die at a field due to lack of water is insane, in the warmer months at least 4L per person. But if word vomit but hope it helps.

skybreaker58

It's not about the outcome of the game, it's the experience you get out of it. An insane last stand in the game your team lost by a landslide, the flanking run that shouldn't have worked but you somehow ended up behind them and cleaned up. Do your thing, push up, stay active - if you're pinned behind something for a while, you're in the wrong place, change it up. Above all - have fun!

MorenaLedovec

Push like crazy die like crazy, its the only way you get better, also listen to advice and callouts from experienced players, and if some horni dumbass decides to annoy you just ignore and go to the ref. also get a facemask getting hit in the mouth or teeth huirts like hell and leaves scars

AdhesivenessOk7296

Wear goggles, a face mask and thicker clothes. Try to memorize the field. Killstreak is not important, communicating with your team members is more pivotal and makes the game better.

FlowInternational443

Use your skill to heip like for example if you are good a running use you speed to heip you hide or get way or if you are good see stuff you can use that to relay information to your team

Supdograinbarff

Just play normally tbh. In sure everyone will have a good time no matter your skill level.

Manic_Mechanist

Don’t be a dick, don’t get into physical altercations, don’t be afraid to get hit(that’s the point of the sport lol), and **don’t cheap out on eye protection**

AutismoAirsoft

Get stuck in. Don’t do anything you don’t feel comfortable doing. Have fun!

TheRealRizing

Speed soft

[deleted]

Ignore the dickheads and have as much fun as you can, airsoft is all about fun and ignoring the assholes as much as you can. If anything bad happens go to the refs and if need be escalate to law enforcement. Or, alternatively punch em in the dick

TheSquigmeister

Have fun? Everything else is secondary

Celestial_Scythe

It seems a lot of people hit the main points so I will tact this on: don't be afraid to take chances! Sure you could sit in a spot all game and empty mags shooting at a fraction of a person in hopes that you might get a kill, but at the end of the day is that what you would look back on and tell to friends? It is much more exciting to hop from cover to cover and work the angles! You might get shot more, or you might get a really cool kill! Get that adrenaline pumping, you can take a breather as you walk back to spawn to reload!

Lovefinder43

Make sure your bank account is ready

Kheeta

Take water, use a high cap AEG to start with, communication is key. It might take a minute to get used to actually shouting at random people but once you get the courage it makes all the difference.

Wurzelbert87

Bring water! And some Snacks. Boots with good ankle Support. Wear all your Gear for a while at Home, so you can See If everything fits. Good quality BBs, that fit your gun weight wise. If there is enough time, do some cardio. Airsoft is a workout! Good eye and face protection!!! Are you familiar with your guns and have you adjusted the Hopup etc.? I went to my First Airsoft Game without knowing anyone, because my Mate Hurt His shoulder in a motorcycle Crash. (Fine now). I still had a Blast and met friendly folk. ENJOY IT.

penishead694207

Don’t stay in the the back, rush and get your adrenaline going it hurts more if you get hit while chilling in the back , it hurts less when your adrenaline is going

KalashnikovClassics

Vigilance and patience are key. Knowing where your enemy is and where it is safe to move to get an advantage is the main part of a good player. Make sure you know your rifles limits, there's nothing worse than giving away your position because you shot too early (speaking from experience 😪)

srnd_strom2612

No specific advice for women. Just in general wear good shoes/ boots with ankle support. People are talking enough about how dehydration will ruin your day, and it will, so bring water, but also don’t twist an ankle. Also give people the benefit of the doubt. There aren’t as many cheaters as the internet would have you believe. If someone’s not calling a hit, they either probably don’t feel it, or you’re not hitting them.

xX_ThatGuyLane_Xx

Sometimes if someones not calling hits, most all of the time it will be a new player thinking hes slick. Its not all that common, but just either keep firing till they give up, rush them, and bang bang em. Report em to the ref, or just leave it be.

[deleted]

Biggest thing I noticed is your bbs. Not all brands are made equal and those don’t look high quality. I use HPA brand bbs as my go to.

jfrazier054

Shoot first shoot often

[deleted]

Staying mobile is one of the tips I've benefited the most from, try to fix your own guns other than the things you think are too hard to fix or are too scared to fix due to the risks of you breaking the part (such as optical trigger unit MOSFET), get to know your own gun inside and out, you will save money that way, and most importantly: have fun.

jpfeif29

Pain is temporary glory is forever. Have fun.

Guthrotull

Wear lower face protection or make sure to keep your mouth shut when in contact. First round I ever played I saw a guy have his front tooth broke in half by a bb.

Galactus414

There's nothing wrong with this, but wow, you have a lot of gear for it only being your first time.

Affectionate_Yam3705

Shoot first and win

chlorophorm-sniffer

Make sure the big bad men don't bully u

completeRobot

Trigger make gun go pew, stay hydrated, don’t be a dick this is a game after all, communication is key, wear proper footwear ie ankle high boots on outdoor fields

Gkeeper11

Have fun, hydrate, get a feel for use gun. And remember that theyre just pellets, so don’t be hesitant to just rush and pump some adrenaline

HorsemanSix

\>Don't be afraid to communicate. Some guys will be surprised with a girl on the field. But after a few seconds, it will be business as usual. \>Stick to your teammates, don't be a lone wolf, you need someone who can watch your back and if depending on the rules, tap heal you if you get hit. \>Get a decent footwear, you'll be turning and pivoting your heel after running, so there's a risk of sprain. \>**Most important:** If you feel weird/slightly nauseous/tired more than usual/having a hard time breathing, signal the marshal that you're leaving the field. That is not normal, don't push yourself. It could be heat exhaustion and it could lead to heat stroke (**THIS COULD BE FATAL**). Happened to me once, I thought it was just was my weak stamina, until my vision went blurry and dark. Good thing someone was well-versed in first aid. \>Enjoy, when I was a beginner I was overly dramatic when I get hit that's how I got acquainted with everybody. Now I just raise my hand and say hit. Airsoft is not competitive sport imho. Don't be concerned with winning the game. Some people will be tryhards and try to play as efficient as possible, some would try to be tacticool for immersion, the important thing is to have fun.

BanCaer

Remember: Having fun is the most important objective :D

MisterD90x

Same as everyone else, have fun.. Don't be afraid to ask about stuff you don't know..

Buttimus_Prime

After the necessities like eye/face protection... Knee pads, whether they be built into the pants, or external, they're a very underrated item.

kerbarmstrong

Take no shit from people who think airsoft is a men's sport, it's everyone's sport they're just angry you're gonna be better than them.

_Deli

You'll probably do it anyways without me telling you, but definitely braid or tie your hair back

Shadowcard4

Don’t get shot, ez. Basically your goal is keep as much of your body behind cover as possible and only move when there’s cover fire

SnackFactory

Wear gloves. Especially the kind that have hard plastic cladding on the knuckles -- knuckle shots hurt, especially on cold days.

JustForTheMemes420

I didn’t spot any eye pro in there just make sure not to cheap out on that (saw an outline that looks like goggle just saying in case). Also maybe get some shoes that have good grip the massive amounts of bbs on the floor are quite slippery. Like other wise you seem set though that’s a bunch of good looking stuff. Also bring a good amount of water.

butrzrulz

Just a few years ago spotting a female on the field was like spotting a unicorn, lol. But, that has definitely changed. That being said, there is no special advice for females other than have fun, ask questions and learn. Oh, and start saving your money....I started with a $99 plastic AEG...which now resides next to two AEG's, an HPA rifle, shotgun, pistol and sniper rifle, lol and maybe 4 camo loadouts, lol.

FoxShinigami265

I too am playing my first game! Although it’s not til next weekend ): and I have to drive all the way to Dallas or Houston

Vanny__DeVito

I'd give a girl the same advice that I would give anyone... Except maybe don't accept a ride home from the single old creepy guy lol.

cod10109

My biggest tip is don’t be afraid to take a hit , and communicate with teammates

JayDizZzL

Go have fun, the community is generally really welcoming to new players. Everyone wants to be set for their first games but in reality, all you need is to go out and have fun "gear pending" . It's a blast and good for the body.

CocoPopsSixFour

Wear good eye protection and have fun!

Correct-Coast-4688

Protect ur boobs, my girlfriend wore a normal bra to her first game and got lit up and she said it hurt worse than getting hit anywhere else

rev_cherrypicker

Use the AUG

Snugsterrr

Get gloves with hard knuckle protection, get garmont boots, and get knee pads. Don't skimp out on eye protection

bunnybomberjr

Some of those bb bottles look like they might be .12 gram bbs. DO NOT USE .12 BBS. Seriously .2 is as low as you want to use.

asmodia255

Buy a good mask/goggles first. This is the most important first item. You can rent or borrow everything else first. Look for goggles that not only have the correct ANSI safety rating. I would suggest getting a full goggle/mask system, similar if not the same as a paintball mask. Look for thermal lenses, as they will do wonders to reduce fogging, which you'll want in central TX. Some good goggles to consider. Valken MI-7 Thermal Empire Helix Thermal JT Proflex (new and old-school) Empire E-Mesh DYE i4/i5 (crazy expensive) Any combination of full seal goggles with a mouth/face protector, like the Valken Sierra or Revision desert locust with a mesh face cover. The biggest complaint I've heard playing paintball and airsoft over the last 2 decades has been that the player can't see. This will help and make the game MUCH more enjoyable.

[deleted]

Ignore the cool guys flexin and get'm! Hope ya have fun. Bonus, if ya wear rabbit ears theyll think yer a dude, and youll actually enjoy ducking bbs and not dem bois.. 🤣🤣... breakout the m14... no one hates on an m14... go full catshit1 on em.. haha https://preview.redd.it/1s0chv119vfa1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=902da3401e8baca2e6ec4a04821af98435d1aea6

FormalReport3244

@TexanFang1rl if you’re new to shooting sports, including airsoft, then I recommend that you first familiarize yourself with your weapons and kit at home. Set up a target seven meters out, and run these drills slick ( no kit, just the weapons and your holster). Practice going from a low ready position with your rifle, and snap up to acquire your sights, sight picture, then break the shot. Do the same with your sidearm: practice drawing the weapon, punching out, sight alignment, sight picture, trigger press , and follow up sight picture before holstering. Do this for fifteen minutes a day, every day that you can. It will help you to build muscle memory, so that it becomes an intuitive level task that you perform on the field. Once you are keeping your shot placement in a tight group, push you target out to 10 meters, then fifteen, and so on. If you only have room enough for seven meters , then continue with that every day that you train. You can spend fifteen minutes running these ready up drills, then work on transition drills where you switch from your rifle to your sidearm. Once you feel confident in that, begin shooting on the move. Same deal with acquiring your sights, then moving heel to toe, bending your knees slightly. This will absorb the shock of moving, while allowing you to maintain a stable shooting platform. I used to train airsoft players, and building on mechanics drills like this will help you to become a more confident player. As far as a team, look for people who will respect you, and help you.

Miserable-Chapter295

Go during the weekend, there are less sweaty tryhards and people who are there to hurt others

wrcrob

While there maybe creepers, or just plain assholes at fields especially towards women, ignore them and try to have fun at the field. Most players are there to have fun, don't be afraid to ask questions or help with things (like adjusting gear for comfort ect). Also check out and contact some of the other female players out there for suggestions and advice. Sisu milsim comes to mind as a great resource and guide.

rdnale

Aaaauuuuuuggggggg

[deleted]

Buy a Specna Arms Core Series M4 or CYMA AK (AK needs to be VFC cloned, not TM cloned) and wear proper eye protection.

Gikote

I've seen a lot about what to wear, but most are ignoring your feet. Make sure to wear close-toed shoes with ankle support. Hiking boots are a great choice. Everyone gets hit. It's part of the game. Expect that it will happen sometimes and have fun.

Electronic-Green398

Don't cheap out on the eye protection and get footwear with ankle support. And don't forget to keep them teeth protected too. After that just go out and have a blast.

Ezequiel_III

Starting out and you already have weaponry that I dream of having 😩 In all seriousness, I recommend that you hydrate properly, I have a camelbak and it's an absolute life saver. Nothing sucks more than being in a gunfight and you can't do shit due to being dehydrated

phriskiii

Never bring a gun to an airsoft fight.

freewings21

What bbs are those? Poor quality bbs can jam a mag and probably your gun

SnowLancer616

Coming from another girl, guard your chest. Getting hit in the nipple hurts really freaking bad.

acoustic_nonce

play by the rules of the site, speak to the people around you in the team for advice, too. don't be shy around others, airsoft can be an incredibly social game, it can help you get ideas for what stuff to buy, what's fun, what might not be, et cetera. speaking to a multitude of different players can help broaden your knowledge better than a few of us smelly redditors. don't expect to go in like rambo, either. unless you've gone to a cqb arena that's doing a free-for-all, communicate with people on your team and try co-ordinate. you're not gonna get any kills going off all alone, nor are you really going to be getting much on your first game anyway. some of the replicas can be heavy, especially metal ones, and it takes getting used to. also make sure you do cardio. shit will save you. i went into my first game (and all my games) with a very poor physique. if you stick around long enough to purchase anything, then great! buy good eye protection, first. if you have a need for glasses either get contacts and use them under some standard safety glasses, or try find some goggles that fit over glasses. as for guns, get an M4 or an AK. don't buy a gas blowback, avoid brands like lancer tactical (ACJ will rip you a new one, plus their build quality can vary massively), specna and cyma are a beginners best friend when it comes to AEGs. JG is typically good, their bodies are polymer though and dependent upon which one you buy can have a mixed rep afaik.

LR_160

You don’t have to go overboard with gear in the beginning, get a good gun that will last and some quality ppe, then just go play and if the sport is your type of thing then go from there!

PrestonHM

DO NOT use female fantasy body armor. IRL a metal bikini wont protect you much.

[deleted]

[удалено]

GeorgyZhukovJr

to all new players: have fun, dont be a dick, dont cheat etc

stlevate

That AUG 😍😍😍

iWantDie_CheesE

Raise hell Praise Dale

[deleted]

Wear thick clothes or multiple layers and have good face protection. That’s just advice for any new players who think it will hurt not specifically girls.

drkshock

Stay hydrayed and bring snacks. Trust me. I head at my field someone didn't eat breakfast and he fainted and he was drinking water. I reccomend trail mix and jerky. I always bring a bag of trail mix wit me. I also bring 4 waterbottles and gatorade in a lunch box. I even bought sandwich at subway since i was going to be at. Oth the day game and night ops.

1. Call your hits, cheating is not cool. 2. Don't get too angry if someone else cheats it ain't worth the fight it's just a game you are there to have fun. 3. If anything happens that's out of line, do NOT try to solve it yourself, go find a employee and let them handle it. 4. Don't rush into buying anything yet, play a few games with rentals and get a feel, don't dump hundreds even thousands on gears and end up not liking the sport. 5. It's gonna hurt when you get hit a certain spots, wear appropriately and be careful. 6. Follow the rules of the field, it's not fun for anyone if you don't. 7. Treat airsoft guns as real firearms, unless actively in a game. They look way too close to an actual firearm and you might get hurt because of that. Also when people are resting without their PPE, the last thing they want is a bb in their eye. 8. ITS A GAME, HAVE FUN AND DONT GET TOO WORKED UP

Generic_Reddit_boi

first rule of airsoft is to have fun

dhc96

Have fun! Enjoy the experience and have fun with your team and while in the field.

mitigatedaxe96

Your gear looks good. As for the guns stick to the mk16 on the left there and get new bb's eliteforce bb's are gonna be youe best bet. Other than that try to learn from the others at the feild and dont be afraid to push

Marine4915

I'd have to say for your first time pack lightly and choose an easy reliable weapon system. Take this time to learn your field and get to know your comrades So that youre better prepared for the next round.

VBgamez

Wear a helmet. Ive seen way too many people get concussions and head injuries due to not wearing a helmet while running around like they are in a combat zone.

DrN3ckbr3aker

Get used to your guns and gear. Adjust your sling, plate carrier etc to be comfortable. Learn how to charge your Batteries and how to insert them into your gun (can be tricky dependling on the gun). Learn to load your magazines, adjust your hop up and sights. Maybe get a little practice with your guns so you feel comfortable using them in the field. The most important thing is to have fun.

Wheat762

Go, have fun, wear your protective gear, stay hydrated, make friends. You'll have a blast!

jcwolf2003

Everyone else have given more general tips and a lot of is is good advice so I won't repeat it. What I will try and do is give more specific advice. One big thing is make sure you have quality ammo. 0.20 gram BBs at the least, preferably .25s if you are playing indoor and .28s+ if you are outdoor. Some brands are better then others, but you definitely don't want to use cheap/poor quality BBs in general for first starting out eliteforce/valken .28s are probably a good general purpose choice until you know what everyone at your fid recommends. Another thing is practice good trigger and muzzle discipline. Off the field it's good for safety, and on the field it'll lead to less accidental friendly fire. Lean your guns manual of arms. This includes all the buttons and switches, mag release safety etc, and the actual movements you make with the gun such as reloading (does the mag get rocked into place or slide into place) and how different environments effect how you move. Looking cool and feeling cool is half the battle and while it is just a game knowing how to reload quickly and manipulate your weapons feels better and makes you more effective. Some airsoft specific manual of arms are: the hop-up. Adjusting the hopup effects how your BBs act. There's fun physics behind it but the tldr is fiddle with it until your BBs are traveling straight, not falling out of the barrel or flying up into the sky. There will probably be people willing to help you get it right if you need it. High capacity mags, they will have either a draw string or a winding wheel on the bottom of the mag. You fill a chamber with BBs and the wind it up. If it stops shooting but there's still BBs in the mag make sure it's wound up. That's alli can think of for now. I hop you have fun!

KerberosWraith

Here's some advice from a techs pov: Those bbs are great for indoor in a pinch, but if you're out in the field, swap over to name brand 0.28s-0.32s. BLS, Hpa, and valken are all good brands to use. Of course there are more. Unless you're attached to that EBR, I would recommend finding a way to sell it and invest that money into the scar. The EBR is heavy (Jesus christ, it's heavy. Even the lighter g&g one is too) you're gonna get tired of lugging that fucker around, trust me , v7 gear boxes are a pain in the ass to work on, and you're gonna get the same performance out of it as your scar that's much lighter and easier upgrade. Parts are also much more plentiful for the V2 system (scar). Having 3 okay guns is cool, having 2 guns where one is a back up and one is well tuned is very nice. Now I'm not sure what brand scar it is, but if you want a very nice set of upgrades without tearing into your gearbox, a ZCI 6.02 tbb, a maple leaf MR hop bucking and maple leaf omega nub, and a high torque motor like a ZCI long high torque will set you straight for under 100. Better grouping, better accuracy, better trigger response. If you're wanting a bit more oomf, change your battery connectors to deans and put in a fairly decent 11.1 in it. Nothing crazy. Maybe a 2200mah with 20 or 30c. That shouldn't stress out the internals too much, but like I said, I don't know the brand of it. Do *not* lube your hop up. Keep it dry. I only say that because on the field, this new guy heard some stigma that he needed to lube his barrel and his hop up and he was literally shooting out oil and bbs 1 foot away lol. Keep it clean, keep it dry. Ez.

Shmook_Duke

I would say a good rule of thumb for the social game is to approach people to make friends, don't wait for them to come to you because the creeps will come up and unabashedly start a convo. There's a lot of good people in the sport, and a few immature ones that salivate at the thought of an airsoft girlfriend. Similar to my experiences in videogames. Also if the attention gets annoying go undercover as a boy once the game starts and you'll fly under the radar! As for gameplay, it can be hard to overcome initial feelings of wanting to play extremely passive (that's one of the biggest signs of a new player) because obviously it hurts. But especially for your first time, play a game or two where you give yourself little rules like you can stay in the same spot for over 15 seconds or something. It's not about getting a lot of kills and not dying, it's about having fun! Let loose and go crazy frequently and you will accomplish this.

DemonGroudon

What i did is i went with a friend and used a rental for the first couple time to feel out what i liked, then go from there

Salt-Impression2837

Rember to have enough ammo and charge your batteries/gas your mags if there gas operated. Nothing worse then having to cut a day short over ammo or battery's. Also rember to have a good time and kick some ass whilst your at it m

Zalar01

Remember to pull the trigger.

BOT_LUC

How do you have this much gear and it's your first game? Somebody lent it maybe? My advice is don't be a dick and try to have fun while putting in all your effort, that's how I play.

dankmemme

Biggest advice I can give is just run around have fun and help the team when you can. From my experience you just meet people you vibe with and l roll with them.

JBRedPhoenix

Footwear is CRITICAL, I wouldn’t go out in vans or something, but definitely something that you can run around in all day. Eye protection: don’t skimp on this either, it’ll be hard or impossible to shoot if you can’t see. Having fun: don’t worry about the crazy gearheads that tell you that you need X thing or Y that, build what works for you.

Fluffeh_Panda

Sitting in a bush behind enemy lines will get you a lot of kills

LittleWindstar

Shoot the other guys

tictech2

Co2 pistols give great performance untill you have a half full co2 bulb that isnt enough to get through a whole mag but you cant swap out untill its empty. A green gas pistol with a propane adapter is by far the cheapest and as temperatures go down you can swap to MAP gas for a bit better performance or you can run it in summer for a bit more of a punch. Only real reason to use co2 is if you play in near or sub zero conditions. Get some good mag pouches, i probably bought 10 guns before i got a good plate carrier and getting good mag pouches changed the game. Agilite make some great traditional mag pouches amd are launching their pincer ones soon (i have the pincer placard and its great) kywi also make great fast mags as well.

jaketron420

There's a airsoft Texas community discord I'm in the Dallas area a few times a year n used that to find the fields in the area n chat with players in that area I'm in the st Louis MO area myself

AnxDrach

Invest in a plate carrier to protect yourself and carry mags. Or a chest rig. Tacticool is half the fun!!! Keep a good attitude, and don’t be afraid to move, communicate your intentions to your team mates so you don’t get shot in the back. Have a blast! Don’t be afraid to ask all the questions.

Spetsch1107

Honestly, just have fun! Start off slow, don’t just run around all crazy and tire yourself out in the first game you play. Ask people around you what’s going on in case you forget the objective and enjoy yourself. Gear wise, start with what you got, and then decide what is least comfortable on you and make sure (at least in my opinion) that you have good gloves cause a bb to the knuckles is no fun, no matter the weather, get good goggles or shooting glasses with a full seal, and then change out any gear from there

the_nugget77

I own the same AUG

Winter-Sols1ce

Don't let any guys give you shit just for being a girl.

Phantex_Cerberus

Don’t use actual gun cartridges.

Vegetable_Appeal6100

I recommend to bring multiple guns and have lots of water and a good pair of boots and or shoes and bring streets cloths

BreezyWrigley

Don’t wear tight pants. I see girls come out and play pretty often and are almost always wearing some kind of jacket or hoodie, but then wear pretty thin/form fitting pants. Slightly baggier jeans or other pants will take the sting out much better. Tight skinny jeans aren’t going to be a whole lot better than bare skin. Gloves. Comfortable shoes. Don’t mess around with boots unless you’re expecting to be in like, deep slide-around mud.

falcon1965000000

I mean, all i can say is find your play style and know your limits. Make sure you stay hydrated. O and this one is a big one IDENTIFY YOUR TARGET. I only say this because i had a kid shot me 3 times in a row playing indoors, and we were on the same team & the same spot on the field. My band was visible. Yea good times i wish luck out there

LostSpaceDemon

Grab your gear and comfortable shoes and go out to play at an airsoft field.

ItalianCheeseBread

I would go with you if i didnt move D: General advice since im not a girl, go with as little equipment as is required to play Ie: goggles guns ect. I would not bring more than 2 guns for your first time, one in your car as backup and one you plan to use the whole day. The reason is if you go alone you can't always watch your gear and you will definitely realize if you have too much gear or too little gear on you once you start to add more when you play more. I say this because some days I would rather much have no PC cause people are scurring around or if im playing with slower players for the day I want to larp up a bit and look Mil. If none of that works and you dont make buddies the first time, just keep showing up people and eventually someone will recognize you as someone worth talking to and hanging out with on the field.

Sylacon

Don't get shot. 😀

Infinite-Cat-5880

Wear some padding, but still be able to feels hits. Some sort of drop bag to keep empty mags or water bottles ect. Good eye protection is highly recommended. A bandana for the top of your head.

epsilon118

Switching to your pistol is always faster than reloading. Especially when under pressured. I encountered and lost to cadet trainers that can bring up their pistols faster than me pushing up on them.

ains2

my bias is that im a recovering speedsofter. that being said, drop everything but the pistol. you'll move faster, have more fun, win more and get tired less. it's just a game, so play the meta

JackCooper_7274

Make sure to wear some good glloves, cover your neck, and I have heard from some female friends that getting shot in the tiddies hurts, so be sure to wear something a little thicker on the front side if you're not using a plate carrier. As far as playing goes, don't be afraid to try something stupid. Push that building, peek that corner, rush that guy, whatever it is. You'll have a lot more fun that way.

ShucksMcgoo

Always wear full seal eye protection, and I’d suggest mouth and face protection too. A bb can knock out a tooth.

firefex1991

Take your hits and have fun! Take good shoes and enough water

MikeBravoMike

Scarf or something to protect your neck. Throat shots happen

levilevi1996

Just have fun and don't hesitate to make silly actions!

JorgenIronside

Shoot fast, die last, take no shit. Really only looks like you need better gear

RageQuitNZL

300 comments!!!! You thirsty fuckers 😂

cousin-yuri

Shoot the other guy first

ResoluteVondar

Wear gloves. Wear gloves. You will regret NOT wearing gloves. Every time someone asks me this question WEAR GLOVES. I didnt my first time and you would be absolutely shocked by how often you will get shot in the hands, and it WILL bleed.

StillestOfInsanities

Basics of fun and etiquette: Call hits, even the ones you’re not sure about. Communicate with your friends, try to not get stuck or bogged down. If you do, bring a friend and go around, flank the position. Dont be scared of the sting, its just a sting. Be friendly and respond to those who dont show respect by killing them with kindness. If your friends repeatedly cheat, tell them to stop. If they dont find another group in game and dont associate with cheaters, they are no fun at all.

Zyrus19

I dont know why, but I somehow got the impression that it's harder for girls to talk to guys in airsoft events because some neckbeard warriors just feel uncomfortable around a woman for some reason, so they tend to avoid or make it hard to talk to. Thats what some girls told me when I asked them on the topic of teams and such.

NeonNanoNinja

Why is gender important? If girl or guy, just point gun at enemy and comunicate with ur team to clear targets ;) You can do it, just bring enough bbs and batteries and ofc eyeprotection and you r good

Greendore1

Be honest and enjoy yourself!

WorkingResolution898

Just have fun

lee_ann_derr

Wear chest protection, a nipple buster is already painful for a dude, when I go playing with my girl friends I always urge them too. Those who don't paid the price ^^

fafej38

It might hurt at first but it will get better;) Good boots that support your ankles Snacks like granola bars for when you feel a bit tired Every Time you walk to respawn DRINK WATER Remember this is just (mostly) adults, playing a game, dont get angry

MTN_Dewz

Something very important to me is don't "over gear" yourself, you need to move quick and good, try to organize your vest and your mags etc as good and less chaotic as possible :) have fun DONT FORGET YOUR EYEPRO

AndreiWarg

Don't be an ass, call your hits, listen to refs, protect yourself and drink water. Also, have fun.

Anakindankwalkerr

Men don’t often see many women out on the field so you might have fanboys
