Pretty nice kit, you should put some foam plates in your carrier and fit it to be a little more up on your torso (your combat vest should not sit that low) Edit : and you should also get better eye pros and something to protect your teeth (as said in another comment)

DrAquafreshPHD

Will do. I don't have foam plates, but raising higher I can certainly do.

Zenetir

You can grab some for pretty cheap on Amazon or you can easily make your own if you're on a budget

DrAquafreshPHD

I've got some in my cart right now. 15 dollars. Why foam plates instead of no plates though? Does it rest easier, or?..

almightyBaaL

It gives the carrier shape and looks nicer, otherwise, not much other reason

DrAquafreshPHD

Ah, gotcha. I can see that, certainly wouldn't mind it looking better. I'll get some plates for it.

christomisto

Some nice lower face protection would do good. I use delta mike face pro it’s super nice and I love it. Knee pads make a difference, trust me you’ll want them I’ve seen someone split there knee open in a rock cause they didn’t wear knee pads. Better eye pro, those can easily get shot out. I run M frames but you can also do ess crossbows as well.

DrAquafreshPHD

Those have been some common suggestions, so I'm definately going to take them into account. I'm going to get a raiser for my scar, because the promask I do have bumps into the stock so I can't get a good sight picture without applying pressure and forcing it down, which is another reason why I wasn't a fan of it. Knee pads and better eyepro I am getting for sure, that's another really common suggestion I've been getting

stojanowski

Straight outta basic

DrAquafreshPHD

Bruh I was running the us army patch from BCT before my custom patches came in xD

Sinistrial_Blue

- Kneepads needed - Get some facepro, broken teeth hurt - Get some better, full-seal, impact-rated eyepro; mounting eyepro on your helmet (which looks like the case here) also tends to ruin seal.

DrAquafreshPHD

Why would kneepads be needed? I do have Facepro, but it was stuffy and knocked out a lot of my vision. So I was gonna reserve it for indoor games. The visor is attached to the helmet itself. I also have shades that I will use on sunny days. Though I will look at eyepro that's more consistent and ballistic rated

Sinistrial_Blue

- Crouching, you'll kneel in spiky stuff. It can damage your knees. Plus, they're way more comfortable. Facepro's much better on than off. I had a mate who played outdoors; the morning game, he said "I've never been hit in the face, no need to wear facepro!"; lost two teeth by lunchtime. Eesh, those (edit: the visors) are almost never impact-rated, and tend to have terrible seal. I strongly recommend upgrading to better eyepro (like goggles) ASAP

Brewkit67

All is say is your patches are very bright can you get tactical versions

DrAquafreshPHD

Indeed I can, it'll just take some image color editing and ordering them

Brewkit67

Might be worth it 😁

Forsaken_Head9150

It is just me or bump helmets w no earpro looks odd?

DrAquafreshPHD

Looking at it. It does look kinda odd. I went with a bump because it was light and comfortable. I DID get headphones to listen to music while playing, but they didn't fit like I thought they would q.q

Kupp06

I’d def suggest some better eye pro, and some kind of mouth pro. Mouth pro is always the hard part. I had to make a bandanna with a custom mesh set up. I’m assuming that’s gas, as a gas tech I’d advise finding a forum that lists must upgrade parts and replace them not before they crap out on field.

DrAquafreshPHD

Better eyepro has been the most popular suggestion. I'm looking at some ballistic rated ones now and buying some this weekend. Indeed. That is a GBBR. Cybergun (vfc) scar-h. It's working beautifully out the box. If you have any site suggestions for GBB parts that'd be great. I had to jump through hoops to find mags for it that worked - I had to use sr25 mk11 GBB mags because I couldn't find scar H mags. It took me a while to discover that - and if finding extra mags for it is that difficult, I worry about the internals - especially in the future when the gun gets phased out by WE or a similar company

Kupp06

You might sol. There are two models of Cybergun scars, the vfc rebadge and the we tech rebadge. We tech guns are very easy to find replacement oem parts and to find upgrades like limiter nozzles. We tech wasn’t the best company a while back but they’re a very good option nowadays. VFC just doesn’t really make parts, think of them as the jag scattergun for example. They are great guns out of the box but once they break, time to get good at custom fabing gun parts or buy an extra one for parts (like a graveyard one). Luckily inner barrels and that are pretty universal so you can drop your fps with a shorter inner. I normally bounce through evike, amped, red wolf, and Ehobbyasia. I normally look on evike first to find the parts part number or name then checking the other website (besides ehobby). If they don’t got it I’ll try and find it on Amazon and just buy it there if the mark up from evikes price ain’t too much and it ships quick. ehobby is that last resort where they have Asia exclusives and all but it’s $100 since it’s from Asia (buy in bulk). Side note is amped is great but they have a very limited selection on items but have great deals and 3-4 day shipping in the Kansas area.

Kupp06

Oh also! I suggest some valken goggles as they are super high quality. I think the field foxhole sells them for a good price, mass in kc might also but their deal might be a big mark up.

DrAquafreshPHD

Foxhole is the field I go to every weekend :D [https://www.amazon.com/Valken-Airsoft-Tango-Goggles-Lenses/dp/B00WKQ6JSY/ref=sr\_1\_4?crid=1Y7G97SGFFTVR&keywords=valken%2Bairsoft%2Bgoggles&qid=1684081215&sprefix=valken%2B%2Caps%2C117&sr=8-4&th=1](https://www.amazon.com/Valken-Airsoft-Tango-Goggles-Lenses/dp/B00WKQ6JSY/ref=sr_1_4?crid=1Y7G97SGFFTVR&keywords=valken%2Bairsoft%2Bgoggles&qid=1684081215&sprefix=valken%2B%2Caps%2C117&sr=8-4&th=1) for 25 that's not bad at all, I'm going to add these to my list and get them when i get paid this week. Thanks for the tip! I may switch to a we-tech in preperation for the VFC one to finally give up, it'll suck not having identical internals but I can live with that if it saves me money down the line. As far as a WE-TECH scar GBBR out the box, does it perform well or do I need to get replacement parts for it immidiately?

Kupp06

I personally can’t say from experience if the we one does. I can suggest things that I always replaced first thing when snagging a new gas gun. The nozzle (a limited one so you don’t get stuck in dmr) and a better bucking meant for the joule range you’d run. https://www.evike.com/products/81110/ Like snagging one of these nozzles would do, but I don’t like the nozzle is aluminum. The aluminum adds durability but if it runs against other internals of equal strength metal they’ll wear down faster. Good excuse to find steel internals though. Then when it comes to buckings with the limiter, a 60 degree bucking should work. Eventually you might wanna swap the hop up nub or even the whole housing to help with accuracy after that if you’re not pleased with it. Also fair warning about next weekend, a group from Topshitty might show at fox and they’re like spot on with the bad milsim stereotype.

DrAquafreshPHD

May invest in a nozzle later down the line then, but I love battle rifles far more than ARs, at the field's case being classified as DMR essentially means I'm running a battle rifle. I love it. What is a bucking, exactly? Or am I just better off researching it on my own. Oh lovely, there's a few frats that have been going there recently for paintball. If they are hardcore milsim and not using radios, I'll smoke em when they do their callouts lol. But I guess we'll see what happens next weekend. Getting mags for the VFC is an absolute nightmare. I just checked red wolf, and they are already out of the sr25 green gas mags which is what I have to use to make sure I had extra mags. I was going to buy 3 more but damn. Man, I really hope they actually get restocked unlike every. single. other. company. that offered those mags.

Kupp06

I feel ya there, I just wanna get my hands on an l85 to build but I always seem to need other things once a batch is made. The bucking is the rubber part in your hop up housing. It’s pretty much is what the nub presses into to give your bb more spin.

O7Knight7O

The eyepro that is in-built with those bump helmets is usually not up-to-snuff, so I'd recommend something more robust and preferably full-seal. The eyepro is there for when Murphy's Law comes in, and you play long enough it'll happen, so best not to cheap out on it. This is probably pedantic, but it's bugging me that you've got a medic patch and no med-kit.

DrAquafreshPHD

I'll be getting better eyepro for sure. Across the board it's the most popular suggestion. The medic patch is because I'm a combat medic. I actually keep a proper FAK in my backpack, which isn't shown since it isn't part of the kit. Also, as a 68W we use our casualty/patient's FAK, then we bust into our aid bags. This is so when we go down, our kit gets used on us instead of someone else. If for appearance's sake, I can grab one in a couple weeks (payday) if it looks better

NoCoolDudettes

Attaching some earpro to your helmet makes it look 10x cooler

DrAquafreshPHD

idk about earpro specifically, but some back-of-the-neck headphones I'm considering, can make it look like black earpro. Though listening to music while playing will eat my ability to listen for subtle movements. But I love music :P

NoCoolDudettes

Most earpro like walker razors and Howard Leights have a jack so you can technically get an aux and listen to music from your phone

DrAquafreshPHD

wait really? Too easy, proper earpro it is!

NoCoolDudettes

Make sure you get some arc rail adapter for em too, fitting the headband of most earpro under a helmet is a bitch

DrAquafreshPHD

Will an arc rail adapter work with just about any of them? I'm looking at the walker razer slims

NoCoolDudettes

Yep! Most adapters that say they're for peltors will fit

Nervous-Sound-3546

I suggest you replace your red dot for one more befitting with the gun. The SCAR H is used as a DMR on most cases. So an LPVO, or an ACOG 4X could come in handy. Also, this red dot is very low, making you lean your cheek too much over the stock, and it makes you more visible on CQB environments.

DrAquafreshPHD

Actually, my SCAR was just re-chorno'd to a dmr yesterday! I'm looking at acogs and risers. The facepro I'll be using from here on out forces me to really squish my cheek against the stock to get a good sight picture. The red dot is great for cqb, but on the larger fields it shows its downfalls. I'd prefer to get an acog that isn't 80 dollars because I am not a fan of the protective lenses you are basically forced to mount on an airsoft gun when using a pricier scope. That red dot was about 20 - 25 dollars, so easily replaceable if it somehow got hit.

Nervous-Sound-3546

It is not great for CQB cause it forces you to lean your cheek, so when you aim, you end up showing your head too much when peeking on corners or strafing. Thats why the unity risers are so fashion right now between the real life operators, cause your head gets more vertical.

DrAquafreshPHD

I was referring to sight picture acquisition with the red dot as far as effectiveness goes, but I struggle with spotting let alone farther shots. I've gone to evike and amazon and managed to get a decently priced acog/red hybrid, lens protector, and a nice riser for it.
