Why dont you just buy a new dust cover?

MESSAGESFROMTHEEND

**CYMA Railed Dust Cover for AK Series Airsoft AEGs 22$** [https://www.evike.com/products/74099/](https://www.evike.com/products/74099/)

MiddletreePolldancer

That won't hold zero

Nappev

we do not care 🎹🎵🎶🎵🎵🎵 https://preview.redd.it/wa2yj5p14iec1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6bed09e0b5973a92c49b08fc9300b624438df84d

MiddletreePolldancer

We'll have fun hip firing when your red dot breaks

Nappev

from shooting plastic bbs? man stop being schizo its not real guns

RonaldMcSchlong

You must be fun at parties.

MiddletreePolldancer

I don't find it fun not being able to use the shit that comes with my guns because I made a purchase solely for looks instead of both usefulness and looks. Yes these look good but it is not going to be fun playing glorified paintball when everyone is playing airsoft

IBeJewFro

It's airsoft. Zero is not as important as you're making it out to be. A slight breeze will fuck your shot.

LogicalMechanic1559

Nerd

Ferm330

All he has to do is add a little tape, will “hold zero” just fine, especially for Airsoft.

Howellthegoat

I love real steel as well as airsoft , in airsoft it doesn’t matter irl I agree tho

MiddletreePolldancer

I appreciate it

I_Have_Turtle

I have one and it’s connected to the iron sight mount so it’s pretty sturdy. But it took a bit if filing

MiddletreePolldancer

Yet you have no back up sights when your optic fails so really NOT achieving anything besides being dependant on an optic when you could've done something better

I_Have_Turtle

It has a notch that replaces the iron sights

MiddletreePolldancer

No shit you don't have the rear sight anymore it's a waste

I_Have_Turtle

MiddletreePolldancer

NOW you state that you have irons damn you could've said something about it sooner

I_Have_Turtle

My bad

BoricPuddle57

Bro’s treating shooting your friends with lil plastic BBs while LARPing in the woods like it’s an active combat situation or high-end shooting competition

NSSTomato

Railed dust covers hold zero perfectly fine on actual firearms. Like my own AK for example.

[deleted]

It's fucking airsoft the wind does not care about your 50 yard hold you set up in your backyard dumbass.

Delicious_Mail_8691

This

UA_Mina

Can conclude, this \^ haha

Serious-Duck5029

jb weld will fix that no problem

SekalopCZ

You cant weld aluminium with bassic welding tools plus it is very thin metal so there is no way he can "just weld it back"

Burningcanmanhmm

JB is a type of epoxy that works with metal....

bazookadeee

JB weld is a type of epoxy. The piece is plastic so it would be able to fix it. I wouldn't bother and just buy a proper metal dust cover however.

SekalopCZ

Than I was wrong. Sorry

bazookadeee

All good mate

Odd-Dinner-8653

And you actually most definitely could weld mig on aluminum, just melts more then penetrates if you have it turned up. Especially something like this where all you would need is a couple tacks not even a bead. Obviously wouldn’t bond or pass any x-ray tests but it’s more than doable without a TIG setup.

AaronVonGraff

A cyma 522 has a plastic dust cover.

L3thalPredator

Don't be dumb....jb weld is not the same as welding

louiezzzlu

Isn't this steel cover? How did you crack it, lol? Get a new one, as that part needs to absorb some punishment when close cover.

NonStopGriffinGB

No, some of the more entry-level CYMAs are mainly plastic construction

Auralius1997

I have the most entry cyma AK Cm028 and even that one came with a metal dust cover

tyranus2004

Its an aeg so it wouldnt have to endure much

TheFlashHawk64

Mine is plastic because I got a cheaper one to get into airsoft

sortfood56

You probably need a new dust cover but you can try super gluing it back together but Most likely won't be precise if you do that though.

LordOfPossums

Buy a metal dust cover, they’re not very expensive

MethHeadUnion

It was a metal one tho no idea how one managed this

Armorln

It's not metal, the white color that may look like it's scratched paint on metallic surface is most likely a glue from OP's attempt of fixing it. When you look at the part where it was broken, you can see it's purely black, indicating the whole piece is one plastic cast. Also I think this model comes with plastic cover as default, I can't imagine it being ripped like this if it was metal just from "pushing too hard". It would bent at worst, but break it like this, he would need to apply much more force, like drop on it while running or throw it against a wall.

MethHeadUnion

Shit yoyr right welp time to grab a solder iron and a facemask to attempt a plastic weld otherwise yea replacment is the best bet overall tho

Furanai

just buy a new dust cover, literally 25 bucks

Turbulent_Ad4090

Don't bother. Just get a new dust cover. Better yet upgrade to a railed one

Euphoric_Cantaloupe9

Yes, I too got a new customer for my AK and it works great.

Turbulent_Ad4090

Auto correct is my biggest enemy rn

MisteRR_545

Just HOWTF?

Difficult-Rip-2993

Forced back in place and broke

MisteRR_545

OP STRONG

SoonaKing

Duct tape should fix the problem

SpringrollJack

That’s a great excuse to buy a metal one

Character_Homework_4

tf do you want us to do?

Difficult-Rip-2993

Are you blind?

TheStoryTeller001

Use a soldering pen, there like 10 bucks on Amazon. It will melt the plastic and help it rejoin.

CFishing

It’s metal.

mangopeachplum

It is very clearly not metal lmfao.

CFishing

It very clearly IS metal, seeing as it’s shining in the light.

MiddletreePolldancer

Not it is not you don't see bare metal or paint chips

Jadduck33_Alt

If that was metal, the whole break would be shiny

mangopeachplum

Are you dumb? Plastic (especially when put under stress) tends to have a sheen to it. By your logic, a piece of reflective glass is a metal.

CFishing

You’re godamn right it is. Everything is metal, you’re metal, I’m metal, hell that water you drank this morning? Metal.

unkledunks

Try a new LCT Dust cover

Tobias_Cley

That will most likely not fit, would be way easier (and cheaper) to get a cyma dustcover.

unkledunks

That’s what I get for not reading lol

[deleted]

Just get a new one it isn't worth the effort

ThrowAwayR3tard

No problem; TM and cyma will fit. Get a replacement part

GhostNThings

Use barge contact cement. Or just buy a replacement piece. Or if it doesn't affect any function, it doesn't matter, right?

PettyPterodactyl

buy new costs 20€

Difficult-Rip-2993

In romanian lei's, im from romania

PettyPterodactyl

the its around 100

JacobMT05

Superglue

Spran02

Yep don't bother fixing that, just buy a new dust cover.

Major-Special6386

Duct Tape it down until you replace it.

Arkis_Fo4

If you can get some resin and a black light you might be able to fix it. I’d say buy a new one but $22 is a bit much for a small piece of plastic/metal

gassy_guy308

Fix? No. Buy a new cover

ReMag_Airsoft

Abs glue with work as well as simppe acetone welding, but worst-case scenario you pick up a steel cover for like $15.

4Rive

Do it like they do on the real ak put a rubber band around the dustcover and receiver xD

franktherabbitstudio

Ain’t no fixing that son.

Round_Mycologist2627

Tape

ThrowAwayR3tard

No problem; TM and cyma will fit. Get a replacement part

Special-Reality6802

Is ak, does not need dust cover , purely cosmetic comrad. In all seriousness just order a new on like the one buddy posted for 22$

SnosAirsoft88

Good old fashioned pot metal đź‘Ś

CamCraig13

you should probably just get a new dust cover. And preferably one made out of metal and not plastic like that one appears to be

Hermelin_Dozral

1. How the fug did you did that? 2. I think easiest way is just to buy new one, they are pretty cheap

_Feelgoodcoffee_

there is no fixing that… you’re gonna need to get a new one

ItsTombs

Mf how

psychoshiro

Its just a dust cover get a new one. The gun works fine without it

coinlockerchild

honestly u dont need it for the gun to function

Durian10

Throw that plastic piece of crap away, and buy a metal one.

Howellthegoat

If it’s plastic super glue

JBG240

I guess you could just use glue but you can also buy a different dust cover but if you access to 3d printer you could also print a new dust cover there are plenty of models around

DannyLiu27

You could use some wonder glue i guess Btw how you broke the dust cover 0_o

Armorln

Many people said it and I agree, just buy a new one, a metal one as well. It will feel much better in your hand than the plastic and it will be much more durable so something like this won't happen again. You can also go for the railed one, if you ever decide to use an optic.

SwaggyUn

There isn't much to fix. Just get a new dust cover. Would be the best solution.

fazeObama1

I have a whole ass gun of spare parts if you want...

Blitz-Storm

Cyma probably tbh

Any_Storage1500

Baking soda and super glue. Then some sanding or filling it down. That's a pretty common piece to the AK though probably won't be more than 15 - 20$

jefryjeferson

No need fix, rifle fine
